In response to President Donald Trump's hugely controversial order which prevents immigrants from certain Muslim country access into the United States, the head of global coffee chain, Starbucks, has insisted the corporation will do everything they can to counter the president's policies.

Speaking in the wake of Trump's executive order, Howard Schultz, penned a statement for the chain's official website which outlines the organisation's plans to hire 10,000 refugees across the globe.

"We have a long history of hiring young people looking for opportunities and a pathway to a new life around the world," he explained after insisting Starbucks would not maintain a silence around the new Administration's actions.

"This is why we are doubling down on this commitment by working with our equity market employees as well as joint venture and licensed market partners in a concerted effort to welcome and seek opportunities for those fleeing war, violence, persecution and discrimination."

While acknowledging that more than 65 million individuals are recognised as refugees worldwide, Howard explained that Starbucks intends to hire 10,000 across five years.

"And we will start this effort here in the U.S. by making the initial focus of our hiring efforts on those individuals who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel in the various countries where our military has asked for such support," he continued.

Recognising the need to highlight the disparity between Trump's policies and Starbucks' ethos, Howard concluded by saying the executive order will not influence the latter.

"We are in business to inspire and nurture the human spirit, one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time – whether that neighborhood is in a Red State or a Blue State; a Christian country or a Muslim country; a divided nation or a united nation."

"That will not change. You have my word on that," he concluded.

Meanwhile, members of the public in this country are adding their names to a campaign which urges Taoiseach Enda Kenny to boycott his St Patrick's Day visit to the United States.

Having found its way onto the market back in 2014, a delightfully small property in Cork city has waited three long years for someone to lay claim to it, and it looks like that day has finally come.

Originally on the market for €75,000, 24 Vicar Street failed to secure a sale during its initial listing, but according to recent reports, the tiny home has been snapped up for just over the new asking price of €60,000.

Located off Barrack Street on the south side of Cork city, the property, which has been dubbed the 'smallest in Ireland', spans just 25.2 square meters of single-storey floor space and boasts – wait for it – two whole rooms.

We know, ladies, we know.

Commenting on the quirky property during its time on the market, estate agents, Sherry Fitzgerald, said: "This narrow site offers huge potential to someone with vision and imagination."

"The location, behind St Finbarr’s Cathedral, is very central and has all essential amenities in close proximity, namely, schools, shops, bars and restaurants."

"This is a development opportunity that should not be missed," they added.

Oh, indeed,

He continued: “I thought it was a shame that we didn’t utilise that, and we found a way to platform it in one of the episodes in the last 10.”

Over 20,000 people have signed an online petition urging Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, to boycott the annual St Patrick's Day visit to the United States.

Reacting to President Trump's executive order which prevents immigrants from seven Muslim countries from entering the United States, thousands of Irish people have added their names to the campaign.

Shared on Uplift over the weekend, the Not In My Name petition has gained a considerable amount of traction  – something which has surprised the campaign's director Siobhán O' Donoghue.

"It’s rare we see petitions grow this quickly and gather this much momentum on social media in such a short space of time," she acknowledged.

Elaborating on the fervour behind the campaign, Siobhán explained that its popularity stems from the Irish public's desire to see their leader challenge the ideals of the US president.

"This shows that people in Ireland are disgusted by the behaviour of Donald Trump since he became president nine days ago, and want to see Enda Kenny show real leadership and courage in the face of such blatant racism and fascism on the part of Donald Trump," she said.

Many of those who signed the petition also made the decision to share their reasons with those visiting the website.

"I wasn't going to sign cause I could see how pragmatic politics needs to protect jobs etc. But seeing people with green cards turned away today? Sure there's no appeasing him, he could turn on Ireland for no reason," wrote one.

"So there's no reason to collude with the madness. 'stand for something or you'll fall for anything Ireland," they added.

Twitter is currently awash with similar sentiments from the public, with one social media user writing: "Don't meet @realDonaldTrump & think you're representing Irish people."

"I'm a constituent, and I want @EndaKennyTD to know that I do not support the St. Patrick's visit to the USA #notinmyname," added another.

For more than two decades, Taoisigh have visited the White House in order to present the American President with a bowl of shamrock.

We might have fallen head over heels for digital cameras and smart phones when they made their debut in the late 90s and early noughties, but that doesn't mean we don't miss the good ol' days when waiting for our photos to develop was par for the course.

Being able to instantly delete an unflattering snap from your phone or filter the life out of your latest selfie on Instagram definitely has its merits, but it seems people are yearning for simpler times.

And apparently, Kodak has been listening.

According to emerging reports, the tech company have made the decision to reintroduce sales of traditional photo film after the public began demanding its return to the shelves.

Five years ago, the production and sale of the company's high-end film, Ektachrome, came to an end, but it'll be back with a bang later this year.

Commenting on the trend which sees a renewed interest in 'retro' products, Kodak’s Steven Overman expressed delight over the reintroduction.

"We are seeing a broad resurgence of excitement about capturing images on film," he began.

"Kodak is committed to continuing to manufacture film as an irreplaceable medium for image creators to capture their artistic vision. We are proud to help bring back this classic," he added.

But if you're only dying to get your hands on it, you'll need to sit tight for much of 2017 as it won't be hitting the shelves until autumn.

Doing your makeup is more complicated than ever, with a new technique or product being released every other day.

We ignore many of the beauty tips we see online, but canvassing should NOT be one of them.

Recently, MUA and blogger, Rachel Leary, posted a video to her Instagram, where she showed her followers how to canvas.

Rachel only used one product to achieve her flawless look, and upon further inspection we discovered that this product only costs €15.

So that's good news…

The Master Camo Colour Correcting Kit is an amazing new creation by Maybelline, and it is a makeup bag essential.

After what seemed like the longest pregnancy, Stephanie Davis gave birth to her first child on January 13.

She reportedly spent 48 hours in labour before welcoming a little baby boy, whom she has named Caben-Albi George.

The Celebrity Big Brother star exclusively revealed the news to OK! magazine, explaining that while Albi is after her grandfather, Caben was a name she heard on a night out.

"We got it when a guy started talking to me while I was with my friends recently and he said his name when he left – we just all looked at each other and knew, so thanks to him!" she wrote in her OK! Online blog previously.

And while her mum loved the name as soon as she heard it, the former Hollyoaks star admits her brothers weren't that keen on it to start.

"My mum loves it but my brothers weren't so sure to start with – but I think they want a proper lad's name," she explained.

Ostensibly speaking, showering is a time when we tend to our personal hygiene: shampooing, conditioning, exfoliating and yoga with razor blades –  you know, the classics.

But that's not all we get up to behind that curtain, is it?

If you generally use your morning shower to solve the world's problems or nail that biting one-liner in an imagined argument with your boss, you're not alone.

According to a recent study conducted by cognitive scientist, Scott Barry Kaufman, 72% of people get some of their most creative ideas when lathering up.

His findings suggest that the environment created in the shower allows the individual to tap into thoughts and ideas which they may not humour throughout the day.

"I've done some research on showering. We did a multinational study and found that people reported more creative inspiration in their showers than they did at work. That's really telling about how we think and find creativity," Kaufman told productivity experts during a recent online summit.

"The relaxing, solitary, and non-judgmental shower environment may afford creative thinking by allowing the mind to wander freely, and causing people to be more open to their inner stream of consciousness and daydreams."

But if your 'shower thoughts' rarely gain momentum after leaving the confines of the bathroom, that may be due to external factors like our reliance on the internet, for example.

"You need to create that space in your life, and that's often what happens when we go into the shower," Kaufman explained.

"It's one of those few moments when we're not tied to our devices, so we have that extra space to find connections between ideas. If we're not allowing that to happen in our lives, it's just never going to work," he added.

You heard the man – time to take our shower thoughts on tour.

We’re often told it’s never too late to take up a hobby and this woman is proof of just that.

At 91-years-old, Johanna Quaas is the oldest gymnast in the world and has been wowing audiences for the past 40 years.

Born into a family of gymnasts in 1925, Johanna trained in her school and at the local playground but gave up on the sport after having a family of her own.

Fast forward 30 years and Johanna was ready to get back into the swing of things – literally.

What’s her secret?

Well, the mum-of-three says a healthy diet, plenty of greens and yoga keep her fighting fit.

The 91-year-old was officially named the world’s oldest gymnast in the Guiness World Book of Records five years ago.

“I’m really excited that I’m in the book and that my achievements in my area of sport have been recognised and honoured in this way.”

There's nothing like a new, weird makeup trend on a Monday morning, and this latest one is really bizarre.

Say hello to my thighs. Am i mutating? Lolz! #face #art #thighface

A number of people have decided that face makeup is old news, and have taken to doing full makeovers… on their thighs.

We're not talking some lipstick and a splash of eyeshadow, these Instagram users are contouring their thighs, sticking on eyelashes, and making sure that their brows are on fleek.

Some of the looks achieved are absolutely gorgeous, and if you look closely you actually forget that it's a thigh, because they really look like faces.

We also cannot help but think that this is a great way to practice makeup skills, without sitting infront of a mirror.

This trend is set to be massive in 2017, so keep an eye (and a thigh) out for it!
