First her daughter, now her mum… Jennifer Maguire is keeping it in the family with promotion for her new RTÉ series, Bridget and Eamon.

The actress and comedian shared a brilliant family throwback snap from the Eighties on social media this morning, and now we can see exactly where she got the inspiration for her Bridget costume.

While Mrs. Maguire was no doubt a far better mother than the chain-smoking Bridget, the two definitely share a similar style:

"Just found this old pic. My Ma aka Bridget!! All she needs is the fag and glasses," Jennifer wrote alongside the old Communion Day snap.

And just last month Jen got her baby daughter in on the fun, dressing up little Florence as a mini-Bridget, complete with wig, dressing gown and glasses.

Now all we need is her husband Lau Zamparelli with a ginger wig and bad suit á la Eamon.

Um… maybe not.

An Ireland-bound got caught in the midst of the formidable Storm Imogen whilst travelling from Cherbourg in France to Dublin earlier this week and the consequences were pretty devastating.

After getting seriously rattled, the ship was forced to change course and take shelter off the coast of England.

The Irish Ferries ship suffered considerable damage inside as pictures show commercial lorries and private vehicles feeling the wrath of the turbulent weather.

One source told the Journal that the crossing was one of the "worst ever" and is currently thanking their lucky stars that the "ship was not lost."

The four-year-old Italian-built ship faced gusts of over 120 miles per hour was due to arrive in Dublin on Monday at 11am but due to the disruption did not make it to the emerald isle until Tuesday afternoon.

It is estimated that the repairs will cost thousands of euro.

Tension is rising for Frank, and we can already tell this is going to be one dramatic season.

"You have no idea what it means to have nothing. You don't value what we have achieved," President Underwood says in the heart-racing trailer, full of guns, sweaty sex scenes and *lots* of cold-eyed glares.

There's no sign of a reunion between Frank and Claire either, with the President telling his estranged wife that she "destroyed" everything they had.

Yup, it's going to be a firecracker of a season – now all we need to do is wait for March 4 when the full set of episodes hit Netflix.

With the general election well and truly looming, this election campaign video has certainly livened up proceedings.

Fine Gael Kildare Martin Heydon TD has released a Back to the Future campaign flick and it includes everything from a DeLorean, white lab coats, red 'life preservers' and some pretty ace special effects.

Martin even enlisted the help of another Fine Gael TD Darren Scully and somehow convinced him to play the role of Doc.

Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson have always been a favourite celebrity couple mainly because they are always very cute with each other, they dress impeccably and they value their privacy.

And never have they been more private than right now as they have not been photographed in each other's company for over three months.

The pair, who have been together almost ten years, are usually snapped together at various red carpet events but Diane has been attending on her own as of late, including yesterday's amFAR gala.

The news comes three months after Diane was allegedly caught getting questionably cosy with the Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus.

Norman plays Diane's love interest in their upcoming film entitled Sky, a flick which also happens to star Diane's partner Joshua in a smaller role.

Joshua's dad, John Carter, has spoken to Radar Online about the split rumours.

"They’re probably just laying low since she was seen with some guy in that pub.

"I’ve been trying to get a hold of them for four months. Josh doesn’t return calls for anybody.

"They really just don’t take calls. They’re very private. If I really want to talk to Josh, I have to go to where he is."

Numerous sources claimed to witness the actress kissing her 44-year-old co-star back in December.

"They were laughing and having fun and then she just literally got out of her chair and straddled him," a witness said to the Daily Mail.

"They were on top of each other. Every time I looked over, she was on him, or he was on her."

We really hope that this isn't the end for these two.

Today's Luas strike has left around 90,000 people in Dublin looking for alternative means of getting to work today.

And as predicted, the disruption caused inevitable panic in the capital city.

Hailo released a Vine which pretty much shows how many people were struggling to get to their destinations this morning.

Wowza.

While many people just walked the regular Luas route….

….others were well and truly dismayed…

…but some folks enjoyed the fresh air.

The strikes are set to continue tomorrow and for two further days next week. Let's hope the weather remains dry…

David Bowie's eldest child, film director Duncan Jones, has announced that he is expecting his first child with wife Rodene Ronquillo.

Just one month after his father's death, the 44-year-old announced the happy news in a heart-warming tweet.

The tweet revealed a card Duncan had made for his father at Christmas asserting that the late rockstar knew he was to become a granddad before he passed away on January 10.

The legendary rock star died from a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 68.

Duncan, who is a Bafta-award winning film director, is the only child from David Bowie's first marriage to Angie Bowie though he is long-estranged from his mother.

He has a younger half-sister from David's marriage to Iman.

Estranged couple Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have been spotted together boarding a private jet to New York late on Wednesday evening.

It marks the first time the couple have been seen together since the sports star's near-fatal collapse at a Nevada brothel in September.

The news comes days after Khloe's alleged split from NBA player James Harden.

While the younger of the Kardashian sisters has reportedly been by the side of her estranged husband for every step of his recovery, the pair have not been seen in public together in months.

The former couple are believed to be travelling to the Big Apple to join the rest of the brood for Kanye's Yeezy Season 3 fashion event as part of New York Fashion Week.

In a recent live stream event with fans, Khloe was happy to speak about the amazing recovery of Lamar.

"He's good, he's so good. It's just insane what the human body can do.

"We went on a hike the other day, Kim, myself and Lam. It's just crazy how quick things change and you never really know and that's such a blessing. And I believe in God and praying and I'm so grateful."

We wonder what all this means for the couples relationship status…

We barely recognised Sam Smith in his most recent Instagram photos and it's safe to say that fans have been divided by his new look.

The British singer has been on a strict diet and exercise routine since last year and it has most certainly paid off.

We think the Stay With Me singer looks healthy and confident as he flaunts his slimmed down frame but some fans seem to disagree with us.

"He needs to stop losing weight it's making his head look bigger and his body super thin," said a fan on Instagram.

Another fucking surreal day with @jimmynapes x

"I prefer chubby Sam Smith," said another.

But who cares what some Instagram trolls have to say, we reckon Sam has never looked better.

Sam will no doubt be flaunting his fab new look at the Oscars later this month as he is nominated for Best Original Song with Spectre's Writing on the Wall.

Yet another famous actress is set to appear in a music video for Irish sensation Hozier.

Yep, the 25-year-old singer has the uber-talented Oscar-nominated actress Saorise Ronan guest-starring in his upcoming music video for Cherry Wine.

With all the proceeds for the video going to victims of domestic abuse, the video will star Saoirse in the throes of a terrible, hurtful relationship.

And according to the Irish Independent, Hozier is delighted to have a fellow Irish talent on board for the single.

"I’m honoured to be joined by Saoirse Ronan, Dearbhla Walsh and Moe Dunford in spreading awareness on this issue.

"Domestic violence is an ongoing issue in our society, the statistics of which are shocking and the effects of which damage whole families, communities and span generations," he said.

"With the song Cherry Wine, I tried to get across the difficulty of coming to terms with and facing up to domestic violence and the dynamic of an abusive relationship."

Saoirse too seems ecstatic to be on board.

"The song has always been one of my favourite tracks on his album. I hope through the video and song we can shine light on the issue and complexity of domestic abuse and in doing so help those caught up in the cycle of domestic violence."

We can't wait to see this one.

One Hollywood film producer has noticed a disheartening trend in the numerous scripts he has to sift through a day.

And that trend is that the descriptions of female characters generally tend to be horrendous and focus almost entirely on looks (basically they are infuriatingly sexist).

Ross, who changed all the character names to 'Jane', has posted his discovery in a rather sarcastic and yet truly illuminating Twitter rampage.

Yeah, no wonder there is still gender equality issues in Hollywood…

Speaking to Jezebel, Ross outlined why he felt he couldn't keep these descriptions to himself.

"For every confused ‘you're' and ‘your,' there's just as much latent misogyny and sexism in the scripts I read. Women are first and foremost described as ‘beautiful,' ‘attractive,' or—my personal blow-my-brains-out-favorite- ‘stunning.'

"I found myself posting to Facebook far too often ‘here comes another script with our 45 year-old male lead dating a 25 year-old woman,' and decided I was going to keep track of the female character introductions in scripts I read for a few weeks.

"I went back and combed through past scripts too, and the patterns were pretty disconcerting.

"I plan on posting every one that I read, and there are plenty that aren't offensive, but honestly, most of them have some element—subtle or overt—that plays into latent objectification."

You go, Ross.

Whether you are team Dean, team Jess or team Logan (is anyone really team Logan?), we just want to see as many of Rory's love interests make an appearance in the upcoming revival as possible.

Just a matter of weeks after it was confirmed that Matt Czuchry would be reprising the role of Logan in the Netflix reboot, Milo Ventimiglia dropped this bomb on us.

Yes, being firm members of team Jess, we can confirm he will be returning to Stars Hollow and it will be amazing.

Just because we can see no other ending for Rory other than with Jess, we would still love to see Jared Padalecki make a triumphant return as Dean, just for the inevitable ensuing drama obvs.

Three months back, Netflix closed a deal with Warner Bros. for a limited-series revival of Gilmore Girls written by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino.

Additionally reports suggested that revival would consist of  90-minute episodes. Which is practically the length of a film. So really, we’re getting four Gilmore Girls films! Kind of, but it’s exciting to think of it that way.

But in a cool twist, the show's creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino has revealed that the four parts will take place over a year, with each episode set during a different season.

A contract dispute with Warner Bros back in 2006 meant that Amy had to bow out of writing the show's final season, and so she never got to create the perfect ending for Lorelai and Rory.
