A new telephone scam is under way in Ireland.

Gardaí are warning people against the scam, which involves a male or female caller saying they are from the Revenue Office and seeking immediate payment of a tax bill over the phone.

The caller may also instruct people to call another number and give their credit card and personal details.

"Do not give out your credit/debit card, bank account, or PPS Number to anyone who makes contact with you over the phone."

"An Garda Síochána, Revenue, nor any Financial Institution will ever call you and ask for your PPS number or bank account details," warn Gardaí. 

Anyone who receives a call requesting any personal or financial information is advised to end the call and report it to any Garda station or the Garda Confidential line on 1800-666-111.

Three years after they split, Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom have finally been granted a divorce.

According to TMZ, their marriage will officially be over next Friday, December 16.

The pair waived support, but are splitting their assets from ventures such as their production company, Khlomar.

Khloe and Lamar tied the knot in 2009, but in 2013, rumours emerged that Lamar cheated on his wife, and subsequently, Khloe split from him.

Later that year, she filed for divorce. However, the reality star withdrew her divorce petition in 2015, after the basketball player was found unconscious in a brothel in Nevada.

Lamar was in a coma for four days, and Khloe decided to stop the proceedings so she could care and make medical decisions for her estranged husband.

When Lamar recovered, Khloe re-filed for divorce in May of this year.

Lady Gaga just rocked an epic performance at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and her latest album is dominating the charts, but the singer just revealed that she struggles daily with a serious mental health issue.

The pop star wrote an open letter to her fans about her issues with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder on her Born This Way Foundation website.

"There is a lot of shame attached to mental illness, but it’s important that you know that there is hope and a chance for recovery."

"It is a daily effort for me to regulate my nervous system so that I don’t panic over circumstances that to many would seem like normal life situations," wrote the star.

Lady Gaga reflected on an incident during her Born This Way Ball tour where she became injured after pushing herself during the performances, and credits the mental and physical trauma of the incident to her disorder.

"I was overworked and not taken seriously when I shared my pain and concern that something was wrong. I ultimately ended up injured on the Born This Way Ball."

"That moment and the memory of it has changed my life forever.  The experience of performing night after night in mental and physical pain ingrained in me a trauma that I relive when I see or hear things that remind me of those days," she wrote.

The final words of the open letter were contributed by her psychologist, who encouraged anyone suffering from mental illness to seek the help they need:

 "No one’s invisible pain should go unnoticed."

Irish poet John Montague passed away in the Clinique Parc Impérial in Nice, France in the early hours of this morning.

The 87-year-old had undergone major surgery to remove a knot in his colon.

His widow, American novelist Elizabeth Wassell, told the Irish Times he was “recovering nicely” until yesterday, when he contracted a fever and began to decline. 

John’s daughters, Oonagh and Sibyl Montague, flew to Nice from Ireland to be by his bedside in his final hours.

Elizabeth said: “On Thursday night we were sitting so closely. We were both lonely when we were apart. I suggested to John that it was a second courtship for us. He smiled warmly.

“The French don’t understand the concept of a wake, but they let us stay with him longer than usual."

John's funeral and burial will take place at Garvaghy, County Tyrone.

Fans were delighted last month when Conor McGregor announced his exciting baby news, following his historic UFC victory, and we are loving the latest update from their journey.

The couple are currently enjoying a pre-Christmas holiday, and Conor took to Instagram to share a sweet snap – featuring Dee’s blossoming baby bump!

The mum-to-be is positively glowing in the photo, wearing a figure-hugging grey dress and bejewelled statement necklace.

The rumour mill had already been sent into overdrive before Conor made the big announcement, on November 12.

After winning his fight, the 28-year-old announced: “I’m going to be a daddy early next year. I’m crapping my jocks, I’m not going to lie. I don’t even know what way to take it.”

He went on to confirm that Baby McGregor is due for next May, and he will be taking a year out from fighting so as not to ‘stress’ pregnant Dee out.

Congratulations are in order for Neville Longbottom Matthew Lewis – he's engaged!

TMZ has just confirmed that the actor proposed to his girlfriend Angela Jones last month after a whirlwind romance.

The website reports that Angela just divorced from her first husband four months ago, and Matthew couldn't wait to propose to her.

He popped the question on one knee in Paris.

TMZ shared a photo of the pair after the happy moment, where Angela is proudly displaying her ring in front of the Eiffel Tower.

The pair first met at a Wizarding World event in Universal Studios, Orlando in January.

It has been a busy time for baby news in celeb-land, and congratulations are in order for Alexa and Carlos PenaVega this weekend.

The former Spy Kids star and her husband have just welcomed their first child, a son, into the world.

A representative for the couple, who have been married for almost two years, confirmed the news to People magazine.

The couple are now the proud parents of little Ocean King. The tot was born on Wednesday, December 7, in Los Angeles; he tipped the scales at 8lbs 6oz.

Both stars took to their Instagram pages to share the first beautiful shots of their newborn, and it’s safe to say that they are in love.

Doting new dad Carlos couldn’t help but gush over his wife and her amazing achievement, posting a ‘glimpse into the previous 48 hours’.
