15 year-old Justin Bieber told a racist joke to his friends back in 2011. The video picked up by TMZ has only started to circulate over the weekend. Justin has apologised to his fans profusely. Apparently TMZ has had the video in their possession for years but chose not to publish it due to his age.

The popstar said: “I thought it was ok to repeat hurtful words and jokes, but didn’t realize at the time that it wasn’t funny and that in fact my actions were continuing the ignorance. I’m very sorry. I take my friendships with people of all cultures very seriously and I apologize for offending or hurting anyone with my childish and inexcusable mistake. I was a kid then and I am a man now who knows my responsibility to the world and to not make that mistake again. Ignorance has no place in our society and I hope the sharing of my faults can prevent others from making the same mistake in the future.”

Piling on the pounds but can’t for the life of you, figure out why? Well, it may actually be the fact that your bedroom curtains are not heavy enough. Yes, you did read that right!

Well, that’s according to the latest study released.

More than 113,000 women took part in the Breakthrough Generations Study, which followed British women for a period of 40 years to find the root cause of breast cancer. The study found that obesity is one of the key causes. In their findings, they uncovered that the more light those studied were exposed to while sleeping, the higher their waist size was.

Professor Anthony Swerdlow, from the Institute of Cancer Research in London, offers an explanation for this: “Metabolism is affected by cyclical rhythms within the body that relate to sleeping, waking and light exposure.”

However, no need to walk around in complete darkness just yet, as Dr Matthew Lam from Breakthrough Breast Cancer says: “It’s too early to suggest that sleeping in the dark will help prevent obesity, a known risk factor for breast cancer, but the association is certainly interesting.”

Looks like it is back to the drawing board for us, so.

It doesn’t look like Brian O’Driscoll is one to sit back on his laurels!

Just two days after his final appearance on the rugby field last Saturday, it has been revealed that he will join the radio station, Newstalk.

The station posted the surprising news to their Twitter account, writing: “We’re delighted to announce that @BrianODriscoll has joined the @offtheball team.”

The rugby star is seemingly delighted with his new post, saying: “Making the decision to join the Off the Ball team was an easy one for me – it’s the nation’s leading sports show and following a break this summer I’ll be more than ready for it come September.”

Ger Gilroy, sports editor over at Newstalk, expressed their delight at having the rugby veteran on their team: “We are thrilled that Brian has decided to join the Off the Ball team, we had a gap for a world class centre! Seriously though, his giant sports brain will be picked on a regular basis, we can’t wait.”

There’s sad news for this model and her footballer boyfriend as it’s all over!

Jourdan Dunn had been going out with Liverpool striker, Daniel Sturridge since last year, but it has now been reported that the couple have called it quits.

The model, who is a mum to four year-old Riley, was expected to be attending The World Cup in Rio this year, but it doesn’t look like that will be happening now!

Daniel was spotted in Miami last month spending time with a stunning woman, sparking rumours that there may be trouble in paradise.

Congratulations are in order for actor Eddie Redmayne and his girlfriend of two years, Hannah Bagshawe, who have announced their engagement.

The actor proposed to Hannah, a financial publicist, last weekend while the couple enjoyed a romantic holiday away.

A source has told US magazine that Eddie has been planning the engagement for some time: “They seem to have always known they were going to spend the rest of their lives together.”

The engagement was also announced in The Times newspaper, reading: “Mr. E.D.J. Redmayne and Miss H.J. Bagshawe. The engagement is announced between Edward, son of Mr. and Mrs. Redmayne of London, and Hannah, daughter of Mr. Nicholas Bagshawe and Mrs. Caryle Bagshawe, both of London.”

Aww, nothing like some happy engagement news to drown out the Bank Holiday blues!

It has been confirmed that Chris Brown has been released from prison, where he was serving 131 days for violating his probation stemming from his 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The R&B singer went on Twitter to say he was “Humbled and Blessed”. He certainly seemed relieved as he tweeted that he was “Back to the Music and Fans”, “Thank you GOD” (sic).

Brown isn’t completely off the hook just yet – he is still on probation until the end of January, 2015 and is subject to random drug testing at least three times a week. He also has to have psychiatric counselling twice a week, attend an outpatient therapy and complete what is left of his 1,000 hours of community service he got last August after a car accident.

We can’t help but wonder if Rihanna will be able to keep her distance now that Chris is a free man? Only time will tell.

It’s been revealed that Ashish Gupta’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection for Topshop will include a  revival of the bright LED buffalo boots.

It seems we’re not the only one loving the idea of this ’90s comeback, as Lily Allen was spotted wearing a pair of Topshop’s new boots at a party in London last week.

This isn’t the only ’90s trend to make a comeback either, as scrunchies, chokers and dungarees have been spotted on a few celebs and models lately.

Delicious and easy to make, these peanut butter chocolate brownies are the perfect summer treat.

What you’ll need:

  • 100 g plain flour
  • 25g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g butter
  • 150 g crunchy peanut butter
  • 175 g  brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 75 g  chocolate

What you’ll need to do:

1. Preheat the oven to 170°C. Butter the sides of your baking tin and line the base with greaseproof paper.

2. Sift the flour, baking powder and coco powder into a small bowl and set aside.

3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and peanut butter together until very soft. Add the sugar, egg and vanilla extract and beat until well combined. Add the flour, baking powder, coco powder and the chopped chocolate and mix to form a dough.

4. Place the dough into the prepared tin and bake in the oven for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and almost firm in the centre.

5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin, before removing and cutting into squares.
