As our recent SHEmazing investigation shows, Tinder is as common a dating method for you ladies as giving someone the glad-eye in Coppers. As a result, very few of us are strangers to the awkward and sometimes soul-destroying conversations Tinder force us to engage in, right?

If you’ve questioned what in the hell you were thinking swiping right after he came out with his first shocking one- liner or sent his second dodgy photo, then you’re not alone.

In the spirit of Christmas, we thought we’d share some of the most awkward, outrageous and downright hilarious Tinder exchanges ever written. (Fine, it’s less to do with Christmas and more to do with our love of laughing.)

No matter how hideous your conversation with that last bloke turned out, count your lucky stars you weren’t involved in any ‘flirtations’ with these particular lads. (Unless you were, in which case, we are truly sorry, but thanks for the lols.)

1. The pro who knows how to play it cool.

2. The person who knows how to dream big.

3. The person who knows how to keep his options open.

4.The person who knows how to work the ladies.

5.The guy who knows what he wants.

6. The person who just needs to know, dammit!

7 . The person who knows how to keep in the family.

8. The person who knows not to waste their time on compliments.

9. The person who knows the importance of keeping fit.

10. The person who knows EXACTLY who he is.

There’s no denying, it’s tough out there, ladies.

What an awful time of year for something like this to happen to anyone, we wish Daniella all the best!

I'm always struck by how girls fall neatly into two camps on the subject of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Some hero-worship these models with their incredible bodies and extreme dedication to a strict diet and exercise plan, whilst others rubbish it as unrealistic and not at all aspirational. I fall quite firmly into the latter group.

This show has become a staple part of our pop culture, watched by an estimated 9 million people every year. Many see it as a positive thing; a playful celebration of female sexuality. Victoria’s Secret models are among some of the most famous (and undeniably beautiful) supermodels in the world. Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Karlie Kloss; they all look incredible!

But if I am to nit-pick – and I am – they all kind of look the same. Wouldn’t it be great to see a few different shapes strutting down that runway for once? A washboard stomach looks great in lingerie, but you don’t need one in order to wear underwear.

That said, it would certainly be unfair to dismiss the VS models as mere clothes horses. They work out extremely hard for those athletic physiques and plenty of them have other ventures and interests on the side. Miranda Kerr, for example, has her own successful range of organic beauty products. They are very powerful women.

Regarding the show itself, I’m not saying that I’m adverse to the effects of this spectacle. I YouTubed my fair share of VS whilst writing this, and ogled away to my heart’s content. The mixture of enviable physiques and pop music makes for a huge spectacle. It’s a celebrity gathering, a celebration of appearance and excess – this year, two models were sent down the catwalk wearing jewel-encrusted Royal Fantasy bras worth $10 million. Each.

Having a giggle at how delighted Ed Sheeran looked is all well and good, but it also serves to further endorse this behaviour as a valid form of mainstream entertainment. The fun aspect of the show means that many might not see the harm but logically speaking, it is impossible to swallow this kind of content without subconsciously inhaling more than a sniff of inherent gender bias.

The lads keep their clothes on and ogle; the ladies parade in far less. It’s a softcore, friendly version of our voyeuristic, pornographic culture that is accepted by too many. Consider the pressure felt by young girls these days to look ‘sexy’ even pre-puberty.

More than the actual content of the show, it is the reaction of my peers that devastates me at times. Sure, lingerie, fitness, beauty can all be empowering things to women. However, it is the default setting of so many women to say ‘oh, how depressing’ after viewing images of the Victoria’s Secret show, simply because they do not resemble these women. Whatever about the models, the women watching definitely don’t feel empowered.

We need to be more positive. We need to remind ourselves that ‘our’ reality is so far removed from ‘theirs’ – do you have time to work out for two hours daily? What is ‘en vogue’ and trending should not depress us or make us feel in any way inferior.

I don’t think any of the Angels want us to feel bad about ourselves, so why let them?

There is drama in The X Factor camp after Mel B and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini were accused of snubbing Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé at last night’s show.

Idina and Michael sang their rendition of Baby, It’s Cold Outside much to the delight of the audience. They were given a standing ovation from judges Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell, but people were bemused by Cheryl and Mel B who stayed firmly sitting in their seats.

Their snub was a popular topic of chat on Twitter last night, with the public left unimpressed that the ladies hadn’t shows Idina and Michael the applause they deserved:

I think there is a lesson to be learnt here – you don't mess with Queen Elsa and you ALWAYS stand up when she sings! Even if it's not Let It Go!

While some (boring) people in this world might have stopped spilling drinks around the time they finished wearing nappies, us eternally clumsy folk are not so lucky.

Glass of hot mulled wine? That'll be down your top within 2.5 seconds. Vibrantly coloured cocktail? Oh, I hope you don't plan on keeping that cream dress clean.

If the above sounds painfully familiar, this new invention will be the answer to your prayers. The Saturn Wine Glass is a tumbler with a rounded base to prevent it from toppling over:

Gesture to your hearts content, fling those elbows around, shake that bum as you walk past the table – this baby ain't going anywhere.

Although the glass is technically for wine, who says you can't use it for every other drink too? When you're a hazard to yourself on a night out, every little helps.

If you're a seasoned wine connoisseur who likes their drink at the exact right temperature, this mightn't be for you, as the lack of a stem means your hands will soon warm the liquid up. But if you're a standard clumsy drinker who doesn't care if their wine is a few degrees warmer than normal, happy days!

It doesn’t matter how many millions you have or how many Oscars and Grammys under your belt, you can still making a complete eejit of yourself at any given moment, as veteran superstar Elton John proved yesterday.

The 67-year-old superstar was attending a tennis event at London’s Royal Albert Hall when he fell backwards off his chair and was left sprawled on the ground, leaving onlookers both momentarily aghast and hugely entertained.

The I’m Still Standing singer (yes, we see the irony too) appeared to place himself gingerly in a canvas deckchair before tumbling backwards and taking two other chairs with him in a classic slapstick moment.

In fairness to Elton though, it looks like he took the whole thing on the chin and got back on his feet as quickly as possible.

The event which was held to raise funds for the singer’s AIDS Foundation saw superstars from the world of tennis, such as Andy Roddick, John McEnroe and Martina Hingis, take to the court to highlight the importance of AIDS research and awareness.

Hopefully, Elton can put this mortifying moment behind him!

World-famous band, Green Day, have urged their fans to send ‘love and positive healing vibes’ to their guitarist, Jason White, who has been tragically diagnosed with tonsil cancer.

The devastated band released a statement on Friday saying they wanted to officially announce the news themselves before word spread.

The band members decided to open up on the background of Jason’s diagnosis, saying: “Jason recently underwent a routine tonsillectomy, and his doctors discovered a treatable form of tonsil cancer.”

Jason first began performing with Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in the early 90’s and he became an official member of the five-time Grammy-award winning band in 2012.

The band members are determined to stay positive about their ‘brother’ Jason’s frightening diagnosis, saying: “Thankfully they caught it early and he should make a full and speedy recovery.”

Unfortunately, this is not the first cancer diagnosis to rock the band. Green Day’s bassist Mike Dirnt revealed earlier this year that his wife Brittney, with whom he shares two children, is currently battling breast cancer.

Our thoughts are with the band during this incredibly difficult time.

Despite selling out arenas all over the world and lining up future concert dates, One Direction are currently dogged by rumours of unrest within the band. And while there are reports constantly suggesting a split is only around the corner, one man who will refuse to let that happen is Danny O’Donoghue from The Script.

Urging the band to stay together, the 34-year-old frontman spoke to the Daily Star on Sunday and said: “If I was advising them I would tell them to stick together as long as possible. It should be the band against the world.”

The latest One Direction story which suggests a split may be on the horizon revolved around reports that an ‘exhausted’ 21-year-old Zayn can no longer cope with fame and may want out, but Danny is having none of it.

Commenting on the reports, the For The First Time singer said: “You have to stick together, protect each other and look after each other. Maybe they just need an extended break, but I wouldn’t advise them to split.”

If the reports that Zayn is sick of fame, overwhelmed by negative publicity and suffering from homesickness are indeed true, then Danny’s words may fall on deaf ears, but hey, it was worth a shot!

A male model has said that Cara Delevingne didn’t walk the runway at this year’s Victoria’s Secret show because she was “too bloated”.

The Daily Mail report that Robert Konjic spoke about the model’s absence, saying: “They are famously strict, if you let go even a little, then they don’t want you. So I wasn’t surprised that Cara wasn’t walking this year. I bumped into her at the British Fashion Awards and she looked very bloated.”

And they say the fashion world is a cruel place – wherever do they get that from?!

Somehow we doubt Cara will care much about Robert’s words as she was walking for Chanel in Salzburg on the night of the show, where she looked anything but “bloated”!

Don't you just wish that some weekday mornings someone would come up to you and say, 'hey, you don't have to go to work today, we're going on holiday instead!"

Well, for this lucky wife it was real as her husband told her to get a bag packed as they were off to fulfil a trip of a lifetime to Europe.

Naturally in disbelief that rather than heading to work she actually has an hour to get packed and grab a plane, she cries and asks her husband for a hug before the video ends.

So. Cute. Can we borrow him?

Last year’s X Factor winner Sam Bailey has opened up about being reported to social services for a second time by a cruel online troll.

Back in October, Sam was reported to the social services by a woman who claims she harmed her daughter Miley by drinking while she was pregnant. Now, the same woman is claiming that Sam is a drug addict.

The mum-of-three spoke out about the devastating claims, telling the Daily Star Sunday: “It’s disgusting. I’m distraught. No matter how much of a good mum you are and how much you dote on your kids there’s always the fear that someone could take your kids off you because of what someone has said. I love my kids to pieces and would never do anything to harm them.”

Sam continued on to describe her devastation when she received that second phone call from social services: “The second time social services called I was in absolute bits. I was sobbing down the phone. Luckily I had already reported her to the police for harassment so could give social services a crime number.”

Sam and her husband Craig are parents to three children, Brooke (9), Tommy (5) and baby Miley (3 months).
