Actress Lindsay Lohan loves sharing mirror selfies with her fans, but it seems she just can't resist a bit of gratuitous editing here and there.

The 28-year-old shared a (now-deleted) image on Twitter earlier today of herself trying out a new waist trainer, the same contraption favoured by all three Kardashian sisters.

Keen to show off some Kardashian-worthy curves, it seems Lindsay had Photoshopped this image to make her waist appear smaller:

The photo was captioned, "Just received my waist trainer from @nowaistclique!! #LovingIt #majorsituation."

Lindsay's followers quickly noticed the wobbly stairs on the right of Lindsay's waist, a telltale sign of bad Photoshopping. "Photoshop is hard," wrote one snarky Twitter user, with another adding, "The photoshop is hilarious (look at the bottom of the stairs!)"

This is not the first time poor Lindsay has been caught out for obviously editing images to make her body look curvier. Twice this year she has posted edited images, one enhanced to give her a more bootylicious bum:

And another edited to slim her waist:

Calm down Lindsay, you're gorgeous as you are!

It hit headlines today that the youngest member of the Jenner/Kardashian household, Kylie, had purchased a home worth more than two million dollars. Wow…

However, that isn’t all her fans have been talking about as a snap the young star shared on her Instagram account yesterday has also caused a stir.

The photo shows 17-year-old Kylie showing off her underwear in a selfie, and fans seem to think she has been dabbling in Photoshop.

Staying comfortable in my @meundies Time to jump in bed after this long week. ❤️

Not only did commenters claim that Kylie used Photoshop in the image, they also claimes she’s had work done…on her bum! We’re not so sure about that now…!

It’s true to say that Kylie’s waist looks super slim in the snap – but don’t they say it’s all about working your angles?!

Cindy Crawford’s recent unretouched ‘leaked’ photo has caused quite a stir online over the last week or so, but for once, it was for the right reasons.

Crawford didn’t actually release the picture herself, nor did she withhold it. It actually dates from 2013; news anchor Charlene White found it on a fashion blog, tweeted it, and now most of us have seen it. Imperfect photos have fuelled the gossip industry for years, so it’s really quite nice that this photo went viral with so much supportive comment.

It’s definitely positive to have an open discussion about how bodily ‘flaws’ are perceived as such, and how airbrushing, cropping and retouching can only serve to further skew our perception of perfection. I’ve been mulling over those who don't really ‘do’ Photoshop, or, at least, have been vocal about it of late…

Kiera Knightley has long fought against images of her being retouched without her permission; back in 2004, she expressed serious displeasure after her breasts were digitally enhanced for the King Arthur movie poster. More recently, she did a topless shoot with Patrick Demarchelier for Interview magazine under the strict clause that the photos would remain unaltered.

In the accompanying interview, she stated: ‘I've had my body manipulated so many different times for so many different reasons. Women's bodies are a battleground and photography is partly to blame… it becomes more difficult to see all of those different varieties of shape’.

Ashley Benson of Pretty Little Liars fame also hit out in this Instagram post against a promo picture of herself and her co-stars: ‘we all look ridiculous. Way too much photoshop. We all have flaws. No one looks like this. It's not attractive’. It was quite brave of her to publicly rail against imagery from the show she works on – and why wouldn’t she? The picture in question is scarily unrealistic.

It’s been almost two years since Debenhams announced that they had ‘a moral obligation to ban the airbrush’, and pledged to ban retouching on all of their lingerie model shots. The same brand has experimented with using mannequins of all sizes in their stores as part of a commitment to encouraging a more positive, inclusive message to their consumers rather than ‘crushing their self-esteem by making false comparisons’.

There’s a lesson in this for all of us. How many times have you said ‘excuse the lack of make-up’, or ‘I look gross today, I have no tan on’? It’s time for a reality check. Are we all supposed to be airbrushed in real life? Of course not, and life would be so boring.

Good grooming is one thing, but more often than not, there’s no real reason for us to explain or apologise for our appearance. What’s truly at fault here is a Trojan standard of beauty; it’s false, it’s virtually unachievable and, as illustrated above, it’s best ignored!

Model and former Big Brother contestant Imogen Thomas faced some serious scrutiny yesterday when she posted a very suspicious-looking selfie to Instagram.

Imogen, who spent the day aboard a luxury yacht in Abu Dhabi (just like our Monday, really), shared a picture of her reflection as she posed in a bikini and life jacket.

The image was captioned, "Boat life! Stay safe… #boat #jacket #nandos #cupcakes #alcohol #bikinis #sun #sea"

Followers were quick to point out that the image looked very obviously Photoshopped or stretched, as Imogen appeared drastically thinner all over.

"This is ridiculous it's so obvious! She's got a gorgeous figure anyway!" read one comment, with another person writing, "Most definitely photoshopped. Baffled at why u would do that, your figure is lush!!!"

Rather than brush off the critisicm, Imogen took to Instagram herself to hit back at her critics, saying it was the mirror, and not Photoshop, that made her appear thinner.

"It's a mirror that's slightly concave! Hahaha all you girls have issues who think I've wasted time to photoshop an Insta pic," she wrote in the comments section of her photo.

It's not the first time in recent months that a celebrity has been accused of editing an image on social media to make themselves appear slimmer.

Lindsay Lohan came under fire a few weeks ago for sharing a picture of herself posing in her bathroom mirror, that many pointed out looked visibly Photoshopped.

BeyoncéParis Hilton and even Justin Bieber are just some of the other stars that have received criticism for editing images to make themselves appear more attractive to the cameras.

Fans of actress Kerry Washington got a bit of a shock yesterday when InStyle magazine released their latest cover image.

Kerry posted a picture of the magazine's March cover on her Instagram feed, and followers were quick to comment on the fact that her skin appeared dramatically lighter than usual.

The Scandal actress shared the image with the caption, "I'm THRILLED to share with you all that I'm on the cover of this year's March @instylemagazine! Can't wait for you guys to see it and read it! So honored. And crazy excited."

Although she seemed delighted with the cover, commenters were less than happy with the changes to her skin tone. "I don't like this picture of you Kerry. It looks way too light I had to look twice," wrote one follower, with another saying, "I'm glad that you made the cover, but you should speak out about them lightening your skin. Not cool. Tired of the media doing this type of stuff."

InStyle yesterday issued an apology via their website. Although they have explained the reason for the lighter colouring, they have not admitted to intentionally lightening Kerry's skin in the cover image.

"While we did not digitally lighten Kerry's skin tone, our cover lighting has likely contributed to this concern," the magazine explained.

"We understand that this has resulted in disappointment and hurt. We are listening, and the feedback has been valuable. We are committed to ensuring that this experience has a positive influence on the ways in which we present all women going forward."

Kerry too seemed happy with InStyle's explanation, writing, "Beautiful statement. Thank u 4 opening this convo. Its an important 1 that needs to be had."

Definitely a faux-pas, but very well handled by both Kerry and InStyle.

Poor Kate Middleton! As if it isn’t bad enough being followed around and papped everywhere you go, a magazine has now made her look like a zombie with some very dodgy Photoshop!

Australian magazine, Women’s Day, have gone viral for all the wrong reasons after they altered a photo of the Duchess to make her look almost unrecognisable.

The original photo was perfect, before they decided to change her eyes, complexion and even her cheeks it would appear!

We’re not sure the Duchess is going to be entirely happy with her brand new look – we know we wouldn’t be!

This isn't the first time Kate and her family have been subjected to unnecessary Photoshop with the public blasting Vanity Fair when they altered an image of Kate, Prince William and Prince George several months ago.

Can't. Stop. Watching.

Lindsay Lohan may have been in hospital battling symptoms of the rare virus chikungunya this week, but she showed she's never too ill to cause controversy!

The Mean Girls star shared a mirror selfie on Instagram which soon sparked a massive reaction from her followers, but probably not for the reason she had hoped.

Lindsay's photo, which showed her teeny-tiny body clad in a pair of Calvins and a crop top, was captioned "#mycalvins are helping me fight off my chikungunya hehe"

While the actress' noticeably slimmed-down waistline may of course have been a result of her recent struggle with illness, fans were quick to point out a number of discrepancies in the photo including some wonky-looking bottles on the right of the sink and uneven lines on the wall behind. Both are telltale signs of Photoshopping which have caught out other celebrities such as Beyoncé and Paris Hilton in the past.

Commenters soon ridiculed the picture with one writing, "lol photoshop fail" and another saying, "lmao the photoshop is so obvious here."

Lindsay has yet to confirm or deny the rumours but either way we're delighted to see that she is on the mend at least, after contracting chikungunya from infected mosquitos during her holiday in French Polynesia over Christmas.

Britney Spears has appeared on the cover of Women’s Health this month – but it isn’t her toned abs or pretty peach bikini that have gotten people talking…

Fans of the superstar have accused the magazine of altering her appearance dramatically, with some even saying it looks as if she’s had a nose job.

While we may be biased towards the princess of pop – and it does appear as if she had a hand in the smoothing of things – is there any celebrity these days that hasn’t?!

And Britney herself seems delighted with the cover, tweeting: “Thank you so much @WomensHealthMag for featuring me in your new issue! It’s on stands this week!” So who are we to argue, eh?

If we were slapped on the front cover of an international magazine, something tells us we’d be very nice indeed to the computer editing team!

On the other hand – how pretty is that bikini?!

Rumer Willis is pretty angry.

The 26-year-old actress has revealed that she is outraged over the decision to photoshop an image of her without her consent.

Rumer, the daughter of Hollywood stars Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, was referring to images from designer Franziska Fox’s spring 2015 lookbook.

In a series of high fashion shots, Rumer appears visibly smaller in certain parts on her body – something which the actress is fuming over.

Speaking to Us Weekly, she said: “My stylist told me about it and I was like, ‘Well, that’s f***ed up.’”

She added: “Then I immediately called my manager and said, ‘You know, this is unacceptable, because that’s not what I want to put out in the world and what I want to represent anyway.’”

Good for you, Rumer.

Referring to the unrealistic beauty and body ideals fed to young people today, Rumer also said: “This idea that how you are is not okay [should] not [be] the case. You should be able to feel beautiful with no makeup on, completely naked, and feel totally stoked about how you look, and no one should be judging you for anything.”

We kind of love her.

Kris Jenner is never one to shy away from some good, old fashioned photoshopping.

Then again, neither are we, so no judgement!

However, the line has to be draw somewhere – and surely photoshopping a friend’s entire face in one of your photos must be it.

Kris was promoting her new book, In the Kitchen with Kris when she posed for a photo with celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay.

The photo shows the pair looking very smooth and line-free…

However, Gordon posted an almost identical photo – that is also completely different.

Great seeing you tonight @krisjenner, can't wait read the cookbook ! Gx

A photo posted by Gordon Ramsay (@gordongram) on

While Kris still look fab, the full extent to which she photoshopped poor Gordon’s face is very visible.

Oh Kris – think before you photoshop!

We're sure Gordon's feelings won't be too hurt…

If your picture is going to be shown online all over the world, it's understandable you might like your teeth whitened a little, or some extra colour in your cheeks. But there is a point of no return when it comes to Photoshop – and whoever edited these poor women's photos has just gone WAY too far.

The 26 portraits, which were taken last month at the finals of the 2014 Miss World Phillippines competition, have come under fire for showing wildly unnatural skin tones, face shapes and eye colours.

This model's eyes look totally freaky:

While this woman's face has lost all contours altogether:

Commenters on were quick to criticise whoever oversaw the editing of the images, with one saying, "All these girls look like they've been sandblasted smooth. They have almost no faces left."

Another asked if the editor was possibly "high when he post-processed these photos."

While the Photoshopped pale faces and red lips are an interesting comment on cultural beauty preferences, we can't imagine these women were too happy with the finished product!

This is just…wow.

Famous magazine are being slammed by basically the entire world after they photoshopped Kendall Jenner to make her look overweight…or their perception of what overweight is!

The AWFUL revelation comes only a day after it was reported that Kendall was bullied by jealous models at New York Fashion Week.

The shamed magazine’s headline was, of course, “Model bosses blast Kendall ‘you’re too FAT’” and beside the headline a photoshopped photo of Kendall with cellulite on the runway.

While photoshopping someone to make them look skinnier than they are may be bad, this is so much worse.

Not only is this fat shaming – it’s also a big fat lie.

Photos from the Hilfiger show feature Kendall looking amazing, no cellulite to see but even if there was – so what!

Something tells us her older sisters will be far from happy when they see this…!

Kendall is currently KILLING it in Milan Fashion Week so we hope she misses out on this delightful headline.
