Yas, queen.

Dublin's annual Pride parade is on Saturday 30th of June and we cannot wait. Glitter: check. Flags: check. Unconditional love and support for our LGBTQ+ family and friends: double check.

We're all about the festivities of Pride week, but do you reckon that you and your friends deserve a spot at the front and centre of the parade?

Well, Dublin Bus has the Proudest Bus in Dublin! To honour Pride week Dublin Bus have unveiled not one, but two, Pride buses decked out in the Pride colours.

Now they're offering you, their lovely customers, the chance for you and three friends to win spaces on the rainbow bus. All you have to do is go to the Dublin Bus Facebook or Twitter pages (@dublinbusnews) and tag three people you want to bring with you; it’s as simple as that!

They're so sound.

"We all know our families and friends love us unconditionally, supporting us through thick and thin, whether it’s a quiet word, a wink or an arm around the shoulder," said a spokesperson for Dublin Bus.

"This year Dublin Bus wants to celebrate these proud families and friends across Dublin and their LGBTQ siblings, parents, partners and pals by giving them a special experience at the top of the Dublin Pride Parade."

The parade this year will be led by  Grand Marshal Sara Phillips, Chair of Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI), Taoiseach Leo Varadkar along with Lord Mayor Mícheál MacDonncha and is expected to draw crowds of up to 30,000 people.

This isn't the first time Dublin Bus has shown it's support to the LGBTQ+ community. It made headlines last year by launching comprehensive Workplace Gender Transition Policy and Guidelines. The policy shows employees and management of Dublin Bus how to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for employees transitioning.

Comprised in consolation with TENI, Phillips praised the move, calling it “one of the most progressive policies on transgender inclusion in the workplace.”

Dublin Bus has also been named one of the most progressive for inclusivity and supporting diversity among its workforce and was previously named a GLEN (Gay & Lesbian Equality Network) Diversity Champion.

So what are you waiting for? Get your Pride on with thanks to Dublin Bus!

Hello, my queens.

So unless you've been living under a rock with no Internet you'll have heard of RuPaul's Drag Race.

via GIPHY

No? Well sit down sista cause I'm about to teach you a thing about the fiercest, bitchiest, most fabulous reality show to ever grace our screens.

Now in it's tenth season and the winner of multiple awards, RuPaul's Drag Race is well worth your time.

So let's start with the basics. What is a drag queen? It's not just hairy men in tights prancing at your local panto, it's far, FAR more complicated than that.

via GIPHY

When in drag, the queens are always referred to a 'she/her' in the work room or when they're out of drag it is also mainly 'she/her' but some of the older drag queens can revert to masculine pronouns.

Each season begins with a cohort of new queens vying for the crown and the $100,00 prize money. Most episodes start with RuPaul in boy drag appearing in the work room (where the drama happens) and setting a mini-challenge. Winner of the mini-challenge is then granted some kind of advantage in the maxi challenge. Challenges range from designing show-stopping outfits, to musical performances, to impersonations and making over members of the public.

via GIPHY

The bottom queens then lipsync for their survival. RuPaul then decides who stays and who will "Sashay Away."

Between all of this is plenty of drama, bitching, confessions, back-stabbing, meltdowns, wardrobe malfunctions and sabotaging- it's brilliant.

Drag queens themselves can be loosely divided into seven categories, because the whole point of drag is breaking down boundaries, honey.

Pageant queens– these are the girls have compete in drag beauty competitions and pageants. Think flawless make-up, big hair *cough* Alyssa Edwards *cough* and even bigger personalities.

via GIPHY

Horror queens– the antithesis of the pageant queens, horror queens, like Sharon Needles, delight in gender-bending, gothic shock- literally, Sharon Needles once spewed blood on the catwalk

via GIPHY

Comedy queens– sure to be quick with the sassy comebacks, comedy queens like Bianca Del Rio and Ben De La Créme have their characters down and are a force to reckoned with

via GIPHY

Fishy queens– these are the queens that are gorgeous- like pass for a supermodel gorgeous. If you ever want to question your own looks, check out Shangela and Naomi Smalls- pure stunners.

via GIPHY

Alternative/Haut couture queens– These are queens that really don't want to be put in a box. They delight in all things odd, mixing high fashion with cardboard with all kinds of crazy stuff.

via GIPHY

Impersonators– literally what is says on the tin. Check out Derrick Barry- the Las Vegas Brittney Spears impersonator or early Chad Michaels when she was impersonating Cher.

via GIPHY

Okay got it? There's a lot of different drag out there. So why are they all racing for this RuPaul?

Mamma Ru is basically drag goals and a nod from her can get your drag career set up. She was a trail-blazing queen in the 1990's. Her first major breakthrough was in 1989 with in the B-52's music video to Love Shack. She went on to have her own successful music and modelling career, becoming the first drag queen to be sign to Mac and posing with the likes of Naomi Campbell.

Building a steady LGBTQ fan base, she started hosting Drag Race in 2008, slowly becoming more and more popular, exploding in recent years with two Emmy awards.

Yas, queen.

Ready to dip your toe in drag waters? First you're going to need a basic dictionary of drag-speak. Don't worry, we'll happily provide ( in no particular order).

Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent: The four key elements of any good drag performance (find the hidden message for extra points).

Hunty: the drag alternative to 'frenemies'

Reading: to slag another queen off, usually as part of an act

Throwing Shade: also means slagging off, but with bitchier undertones

via GIPHY

Paint: make-up

Tuck: the process of, ahem, arranging the man parts to look like lady parts

Fish: a drag queen that could pass for a woman, relates to the presence of a vay-jay and the accompanying… ehhhh…. aromas

Slay: to werk it

Werk: to slay it (obviously)

Death drop: often seen during lipsyncs, it's jumping up in the air and landing in the splits or dramatically dropping to the floor

So what are you waiting for? RuPaul's Drag Race is now available on Netflix.

Now, sashay away.

Well, if so, The Late Late Toy Show wants to hear from you.

Today, the iconic RTÉ show is putting two of the most desirable tickets in Ireland up for grabs with a competition to find the country’s most talented audience members.

Airbnb is well known for its quirky residential offerings, but this Halloween the famed homestay network is running one seriously scary competition.

The site has announced that a stay at Bran Castle in Romania – aka Dracula’s Castle – will be up for grabs for the night of October 31.

Two brave individuals will be able to call the misty mountain-top manor home thanks to host Dacre Stoker – that’s Bram Stoker’s great grandnephew – who will guide his guests through “lamp-lit corridors, creepy nooks, and squeaky staircases”.

The medieval fortress boasts 57 rooms, tower lookouts and “deep dark crypts” which can be explored before the sun sets.

Once darkness falls, Transylvanian castle-life hits peak creepiness with “unexpected guests” appearing, a “blood-enriching” Dracula inspired meal being served, and beds being offered in the form of velvet-trimmed coffins in the Count’s crypt.

To enter the competition, thrill-seekers are asked to show their “vampiric wit” in response to the following question: “What would you say to the Count if you were to come face-to-fang with him in his own castle?”

The winners will be flown to Transylvania courtesy of Airbnb and will stay at the castle free of charge.

Enter if you dare

It's no secret that around SHEmazing! Towers we're massive, big, HUGE fans of all things pizza.

Which is why we like to consume it in its many guises as often as possible.

We also like when science backs-up our dietary preferences with gems such as "pizza makes you more productive," – a research finding we frankly couldn't agree more with.

But while pizza gives us many things in life, sadly it rarely offers us the likes of free trips to Italy (but then neither does, say, celery – and pizza is definitely a lot more fun).

That could ALL change tomorrow, however.

Yes – upon spotting snaps of Dublin hottie Holly Carpenter sprawled on a couch tucking into a cheesy and pepperoni delight (a woman after our own hearts, evidently) – a spot of investigation unearthed a competition we will most certainly be part-taking in.

In short, Dr. Oetker is holding a rather delicious Great Italian Lock-In.

In a statement, Dr. Oetker says that it wants you to: "Lock the door and unlock the fresh pizzeria taste at home by popping a Dr. Oetker Ristorante pizza in the oven, 12 minutes later, say 'Bellissimo' and share a photo of you enjoying your Ristorante on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #GreatItalianLockIn and you could be jetting off to Italy!"

In a statement, we say: "HURRAH for pizza!"

We scoured the small print and furthermore discovered that entries will be open all next week via #GreatItalianLockIn hashtag – meaning if you're not in a particularly pizza place tomorrow (what's wrong with you?) you can submit your entry at your leisure.

More info is available from the Dr. Oetker Facebook page and website.
