Brian Dowling has announced an exciting new step in his career. 

The presenter and radio host has revealed he is set to host his own TV show, which will be airing this October on Virgin Media One. 

Brian has said he ‘absolutely loved’ working on the series which is titled The Salvage Squad.

The show will be based on giving homes nationwide a makeover, but with an emphasis on sustainability as the twist of the unique programme is that the team won’t be able to buy anything new.

Instead, they will have to use second-hand, pre-loved, salvaged or up-cycled materials and furniture to give the homes a fresh look in the space of just three days and with a budget of €1,000.

Brian revealed the show will consist of six episodes with two makeovers in each one.

Opening up about his exciting news to his 237K Instagram followers today, Dowling revealed, “It’s OFFICIAL I have my own show!!!!! I honestly can’t wait for you all to see The Salvage Squad coming to @virginmediatelevision this October”.

“I’ve been working on this all Summer & have ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. We are a home makeover show with a difference”.

“We are all about sustainability, giving preloved items another chance plus giving life back to those jaded old items too”.

He closed off by adding, “I actually feel like I’m talking about myself there. We have designers, builders, carpenters and up-cyclers, we have it all. Homes all over Ireland we are COMING FOR YOU. #thesalvagesquad”.

Many fans of Brian’s rushed to the comments to share their excitement over the news of the brand new series. 

One fan said, “Congratulations, really looking forward to watching”.

“That’s brilliant Brian, look forward to it”, penned a second fan. Another added, “Congratulations Brian, can't wait”.

Chatting about The Salvage Squad on his Instagram Stories, Brian explained, “It has been so much fun. I’ve enjoyed it so much. I think what makes our show different is the sustainability, the pre-loved, the second-hand, the up-cycling, but I’m very excited for you to see it”.

Yet another Love Island couple have announced they’re relationship has come to an end. 

Ella Barnes and Mitch Taylor have revealed they are going their separate ways, one month after leaving the villa. 

Ella has said she is ‘gutted’ to announce the news, while Mitch revealed he ‘wishes nothing but the best’ for his former girlfriend. 

The pair, who ended up in fifth place during the 10th season of Love Island, announced their separation to their thousands of Instagram followers on their Stories earlier today. 

Barnes wrote, “Just wanted to come on here and keep you all updated, as you deserve to know as I wouldn’t be where I am without you”.

“Unfortunately myself and Mitch have decided to end our relationship. I really wanted things to work out and I’m gutted that our journey has come to an end”.

She closed off by adding, “I wish Mitch all the best and hope he finds happiness. It’s time for both of us to start a new chapter. Thank you so much for all the love and support. It means the world to me. Lots of love, Ella xx”.

Mitch then shared his own statement shortly after Ella posted hers to reveal the distance between them made their relationship hard. 

He penned, “Morning everyone. As you have most likely seen Ella's post sadly our relationship has come to an end”.

“We had no intentions of ending, but with out busy life's at this moment and living the other side of the country made it extremely hard for it to work. I wish Ella nothing but the best as she is a lovely girl and deserves the world”.

At the end of their time on Love Island, they had just missed out on a spot in the live finale after being dumped by the public vote.

Jess Harding and Sammy Root, who are still in a relationship, were crowned winners of the season and walked away with the £50,000 prize.

Hospitals across the country are preparing for a ‘dangerous’ winter season ahead, as hospital overcrowding has already worsened.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), this month was the worst August they have ever had with overcrowding. 

The organisation has reported that more than 9,720 patients were admitted this month without access to a bed. Of those patients, 167 of them were children.

This month’s figure has been confirmed to have broken overcrowding statistics for the same time last year. In August 2022, 9,603 patients were admitted to hospital without a bed.

University Hospital Limerick reported the highest amount of overcrowding across the country, with 1,885 patients failing to receive a bed upon admission. Cork University Hospital followed behind in second place, with 984 patients suffering overcrowding.

With these shocking figures, the INMO has expressed concerns that extensive time on trolleys can damage the health of patients. The group has argued that spending more than six hours on a hospital trolley can increase your rate of mortality by over 8%.

INMO general secretary Phil Ní Sheaghdha stated that there is "no doubt" that the next few months will be "difficult and dangerous" for Irish hospitals, as the winter flu season takes hold.

"The summer period used to see an easing off in overcrowding figures but this year numbers admitted to inappropriate spaces, trolleys and chairs have been alarmingly high too early in the season,” she explained, adding that last year’s winter was “beyond what we could have imagined.”

“"The ongoing increase shows how urgently we need to implement safe staffing legislation, so that hospitals have sufficient staff to diagnose, treat and discharge patients safely, and vulnerable people are not languishing on trolleys and chairs for days at a time,” she insisted.

Kyle Richards has shared an update on her relationship with her husband Mauricio Umansky.

Last month, Kyle confirmed that she and Mauricio were not divorcing, after rumours speculated they were going their separate ways. 

Instead, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed the couple had the ‘most challenging year’ of their marriage so far but said they still have respect for each other as they try to ‘work their issues out’.

Following a family holiday in Italy together earlier this month, Kyle shared a new update on her and Mauricio’s relationship and admitted they still ‘care about each other a lot’. 

During an Amazon Live session, the 54-year-old was asked by a fan how she and her husband were doing. 

Richards explained, “That’s a very loaded question. You know this has been very hard to do [because] it’s playing out with so many people having eyes on us and being in the public eye”.

“But, obviously we care about each other a lot, you saw, here we are on vacation”, she continued as a snap of her on holiday showed on the screen. 

“That’s what I’m going to share with you right now”, Kyle went on to say as she said she only wanted to talk about her work with Amazon as speaking about her separation was “just too much to deal with right now”.

When addressing divorce rumours back in July, the couple, who have been married for 27 years, released a joint statement to their millions of followers on Instagram that read, “In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue”.

“However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part”.

They continued, “Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it might be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative. Thank you for the love and support, Kyle & Mauricio”.

It was People magazine that first broke the news of the couple’s separation after an alleged ‘close source’ revealed, “Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof. They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family”.

Amy Dowden has briefly returned to the world of Strictly Come Dancing!

The Welsh professional dancer was initially announced in April as part of this year’s pros lineup for the hit BBC show. However, a few months later, Amy was forced to withdraw from the series after she was diagnosed with cancer.

The 33-year-old is currently receiving chemotherapy treatment, and is also continuing to recover from a mastectomy for breast cancer.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, Amy shared a beautiful selfie, all glammed up by the Strictly hair and makeup crew.

“So grateful for my @bbcstrictly family,” she gushed at the beginning of her caption.

“Yesterday was just what I needed ahead of today. I’ve felt part of the whole journey so far! I’ve seen all the group numbers and the process by videos, then again watching yesterday and WOW honestly the best yet!” she praised.

“Yes it’s hard not being up there with them doing what I love but so proud to be part of such a talented team. I loved being made glamorous by the hair and make up team, putting on a sparkly dress from Wardrobe and feeling like Amy again being at my favourite place! So very grateful!” she wrote.

Amy concluded her message with a brief update about her treatment, after previously noting that she had recently been admitted to hospital with sepsis.

Jess Harding has been left feeling overwhelmed after her latest career move. 

Jess, who won this year’s Love Island with her boyfriend Sammy Root, has revealed she’s now working with a huge brand just weeks after leaving the villa. 

Sharing the exciting news on social media, Harding described the brand deal as a ‘pinch me moment’.

The 22-year-old posted a snap of herself posing in front of a big billboard to announce that she’s bringing out her own clothing line with fashion giant In The Style. 

Opening up about the incredible opportunity, Jess captioned the post, “Ahhh such a pinch me moment!! I can’t actually believe I’m writing this…. In The Style X Jess Harding AD … and it’s all because of you guys!!”.

Stacey Solomon has been left shocked as her youngest daughter has reached a new milestone.

The Loose Women panellist welcomed Belle into the world with her husband Joe Swash back in February.

Stacey has now revealed her baby left her emotional as she can’t believe how quickly the time is going and how grown up she is getting already. 

Sharing her daughter’s latest achievement on social media, Stacey announced that Belle has started crawling all on her own.

Solomon posted the adorable footage to her 5.7M Instagram followers along with the song These Are The Days by Cory Asbury.

The cute clip shows Belle making her way across the room towards Stacey as the 33-year-old cheered her on.

In the video, Stacey added, “Level Unlocked. Belle's first crawls”.

Stacey then captioned the sweet video, “And just like that, our baby girls is crawling [crying emoji]. How is this all happening already?”.

“The days are long but the months are flying by”, she added followed by a teary-eyed emoji and a weary face

If you’re a fan of true crime series, then we have some news for you!

Netflix has finally released a trailer and release date for one of its highly-anticipated new crime documentaries. 

Who Killed Jill Dando? will follow the unsolved murder of British broadcaster Jill Dando, who was murdered on her doorstep 24 years ago.

On April 26, 1999, the BBC journalist and Crimewatch co-host was shot and killed with a single bullet outside her home in Fulham. Jill was just 37 years old at the time of her death.

A murder investigation was promptly launched, which ended up being the Metropolitan Police’s biggest murder inquiry at the time, as well as the country's largest criminal investigation since the infamous Yorkshire Ripper.

Despite the extensive investigation, Jill Dando’s case has never been solved, making it one of Britain’s biggest murder mysteries.

Now, almost 25 years after her horrific killing, Who Killed Jill Dando? will be taking a closer look into the case, and speaking to those who knew her best.

Over three episodes, viewers will be gripped by twists and turns, as everyone including Jill’s family, friends, fellow journalists, investigators and lawyers try to tackle the question of who killed her.

Who Killed Jill Dando? will be available to watch on Netflix next month, when it launches on Tuesday, September 26.

Prince Harry has shared a rare insight into his son’s childhood!

The Duke of Sussex, who now lives in California with his wife Meghan Markle, is a father to four-year-old son Archie and two-year-old daughter Lilibet.

Today marks the release of Prince Harry’s newest collaboration with streaming service Netflix – a five-part documentary series titled Heart of Invictus.

The docuseries follows a group of service members competing in the Invictus Games, a Paralympic-style sporting competition that was set up by Prince Harry in 2014.

As part of the documentary, the 38-year-old can be seen rallying a group of participants. During his motivational speech, Prince Harry chose to open up about his firstborn child Archie, and shared a rare anecdote about his son’s dreams for the future.

“To be role models, or the role models, that each of you are takes strength and it takes courage,” the father-of-two detailed, before going on to mention his eldest child.

“When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it’s an astronaut, other days it’s a pilot – a helicopter pilot obviously. Or Kwazii from Octonauts. If you’re laughing, then you’ve seen that,” he teased, referring to the popular CBeebies show Octonauts, which follows a team of undersea explorers and rescuers.

“But what I remind him is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it’s your character that matters most, and nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today,” Prince Harry gushed in conclusion.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first child, Archie, into the world on May 6, 2019. Earlier this year, the young prince celebrated his fourth birthday on the same day as the coronation of his grandfather, King Charles III.
