Heather Rae El Moussa has opened up about postpartum life and her experience with motherhood so far.

The Selling Sunset star welcomed her baby boy, Tristan, into the world at the end of January alongside her husband Tarek.

Now, while speaking to Blush, Heather has given an insight into her life with a newborn, including struggles she is going through and trying to keep up with her and her husband’s date nights.

She explained, “Going through the newborn stage is a whole different thing. And, you know, carrying the baby and going through the birth, I've just realised how incredible the female body is”.

“It's been challenging since Tristan has been here because I haven't had that quality time with Tarek, like we used to. So it's just adjusting to the new life”.

To help their relationship, Heather revealed the pair go on weekly date nights, even for just a couple of hours out of the house together.

“We went on one date night for Valentine's Day. And I'm not going to say it was easy. It was definitely tough leaving the baby and we went super early and got home by 8 o’clock”.

El Moussa explained that she enjoys having time together at home because “When I was at dinner, and as much fun as I had with Tarek, I was still thinking about the baby and wanted to be home with him”.

When it comes to postpartum struggles, the real estate agent chatted about being open with her whole experience.

“I wanted to show women my challenges through postpartum, and really be as candid and open as possible”.

“I've been very open throughout the pregnancy and very open about my IVF journey- things aren't spoken about enough, especially breastfeeding”.

Heather previously opened up about struggling with breastfeeding. "Tristan had tongue tie, cheek tie, lip tie and jaundice which were all caught very early… but it made it very hard for him to latch & suck. We’re now 2 weeks past getting his tongue tie fixed and he’s latching so well".

After announcing her pregnancy in July of last year, Heather Rae shared her journey to becoming pregnant. “I’ve been really open about my pregnancy journey-we’ve been doing IVF”.

“Went from having 7 frozen eggs to being told we were only supposed to get 2 follicles to then being able to get 8 to… having an all natural pregnancy”.

Laura Anderson has shared some new bump snaps!

The former Love Island star announced last month that she is expecting her first child, and that she is planning to co-parent her firstborn with ex-boyfriend Gary Lucy.

Laura took to Instagram last night in celebration of International Women’s Day. In doing so, the 33-year-old decided to reveal a number of stunning ‘bumpdates’.

The sweet snaps showcase Laura posing with her growing baby bump whilst wearing some silky pyjamas, as her Pomeranian dog Buddy protectively watches over her.

In the caption of her post, the reality star chose to pay tribute to other expectant single mums, and those who are already raising children on their own.

“Happy International Women’s Day to all the single mums out there, the pregnant woman doing this alone, the little girls still unsure of who they are (you have time) the boss bit@hes, the survivors, anyone that feels like a woman or wants to be. You are!”, she exclaimed.

Laura further continued her message of inspiring and praising her fellow women. “You are amazing, you can do this and nothing can stop a group of strong independent, positive like minded females,” she wrote.

“So, let’s stick together, recognise each others struggles and push one and other to consistently strive for more. We deserve every dream we’ve ever had,” she concluded.

Laura initially announced on February 15 that she is currently expecting her first child. At the time, it was believed that her and the baby’s father, actor Gary Lucy, were still in a relationship. However, the expectant parents have since confirmed that they are no longer together but will be co-parenting their child once it is born.

In a recent Instagram Q&A, the mother-to-be confirmed that her pregnancy was “planned and worked first time”, and also spoke openly about her future as a single mum.

“I think I’ve always seen myself as having children. I didn’t really expect to be a single mum. I’ve always wanted that family unit, but it’s 2023, things happen in life,” she admitted.

New research has revealed the barriers there are for women when it comes to entering the construction industry, and women’s perceptions of a career in this sector.

Chadwicks Group, Ireland’s leading builder’s merchants, carried out research that found a lack of female representation and role models in construction are the key barriers for young women in Ireland to enter construction.

This research was carried out ahead of today, International Women’s Day, and examined the attitudes of 350 women aged 18-24 towards a career in construction.

The results reveal that 44% of these women feel there’s a lack of female representation in the industry and an astonishing 93% believe more should be done to promote the industry to women.

The survey also found that 10% of women say there’s a lack of understanding around the types of careers open to women in the sector, while 9% felt pressured by their teachers or parents to pursue third level education over an apprenticeship.

88% agreed that more should be done to promote apprenticeships and trade-based careers at school and an impressive 60% would consider a career in construction if they knew more about it.

While barriers to entry were acknowledged, 45% say they had considered a career in the industry. The top three choices were architecture at 26%, engineering at 16% and project management at 11%.

More needs to be done to promote apprenticeships and trades to women as only 5% of women who carried out the Chadwicks Group survey have considered becoming a carpenter or electrician, and just 3% thought about becoming a plumber.

Patrick Atkinson, the CEO of Chadwicks Group released a statement about these findings that reads, “The research clearly shows more needs to be done to encourage women into the industry. While it is positive to see 45% of women had considered a career in construction, it is disappointing to see a career in a trade was still very low”.

“We are currently facing a drastic shortage of tradespeople in Ireland and more needs to be done to showcase the opportunities and benefits of a career in the trades – particularly to women”.

Patrick continued, “To address the findings of this research, more needs to be done by everyone to highlight women in construction roles. Respondents are calling out to learn from women working in construction”.

“We need to grasp this opportunity and tell those stories. At Chadwicks Group, we’re on our own journey to encourage more women join the business. As Ireland’s leading builders' merchants we are committed to proactively challenging ourselves to achieve this and have a number of initiatives in place to drive higher female representation”.

“This includes our trainee merchanting programme which launched in 2019 and investing in enhanced family leave policies including maternity, fertility, adoptive and carers leave”.

Diane McDonald who was recently named Chadwicks Branch Manager of the year commented also to say, “I have been worked with Chadwicks for over 15 years and over the years have worked my way up to Branch Manager of Bray, one of our largest branches in the country”.

“Over the last 15 years I have seen more women join the business and it’s fantastic to see this trend going in the right direction. I would encourage more women to consider a career in construction whether that’s in a trade or indeed going into the building materials side of things. It’s a fascinating sector and I absolutely love what I do every day”.

Zara McDermott has revealed she was knocked over by an electric bike earlier today.

The former Love Island star shared the worrying story to her 1.7M Instagram followers, where she explained a cyclist was on the wrong side of the road before they collided with her and knocked her over.

The 26-year-old also revealed nobody stopped to help her after she was hit.

Posting a close-up shot of her face, where her cheek looks red after the collision, Zara said, “To the cyclist who was riding an electric bike on the wrong side of the road, knocked me over on a busy main road, swore at me and drove off. Thanks”

“Honestly what is wrong with some people!!!”

The former reality TV star added, “The worst thing is no one came over to help me”.

After her ordeal, McDermott shared a moving post about International Women’s Day, where she reflected on the difference there is between women’s roles now and 100 years ago.

She also spoke about how women are viewed in society, in the media and the privilege some women have compared to others in different countries and cultures.

The former Love Islander stated, “I thank the strong women who said “enough is enough” and stood up for us, the women of today, to give us the freedom and equality that we have now”.

Zara isn’t the only celebrity getting involved in road accidents as BBC broadcaster Dan Walker was also recently in a collision involving a bike.

Dan had been riding his bike when a car knocked him over, leaving him with a swollen face, but luckily no broken bones or serious damage.

A post shared by MrPRICE (@mrpriceireland)

In light of International Women’s Day and in an effort to tackle period poverty across Ireland, MrPRICE has proudly announced that they will be providing free period products to all staff in their 63 stores, 3 warehouses and offices across Ireland from now on.

The company recognises that period poverty has become a significant challenge for women in recent years, particularly with the ongoing cost of living crisis. An Irish report completed in January 2021 discovered that around 85,000 people in Ireland are at risk of experiencing period poverty at some point in their lives.

MrPRICE’s Marketing Director, Laura Blighe, could not be more proud of the company’s stance when it comes to tackling period poverty. ‘’With a staff of more than half being female we have introduced free period products in our staff facilities,” she stated.

“No staff member should ever be in need or caught short while working and all will have access to the free items, no questions asked,” she added.

Happy International Women’s Day, and well done to the MrPRICE team for confronting an important issue!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have christened their second child!

The couple, who now reside in California after leaving their life as working royals behind in 2020, have announced that they have christened their daughter Lilibet.

In a statement released earlier today, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that one-year-old Lilibet was christened last week. However, what has captured the public’s attention is that their announcement refers to Lili as a Princess for the very first time in public.

“I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor,” the spokesperson detailed. The couple have also noted that their ceremony was held privately at their home in Montecito.

When baby Lilibet was first welcomed into the world, she was not given a royal title. The same rule also applied to her brother, three-year-old Archie, following his birth in 2019.

However, since the passing of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the ascension of Prince Harry’s father, King Charles III, the Sussex children have since been granted royal status. Royal rules state that the monarch’s children and grandchildren (if they are children of the monarch's sons) are entitled to become a prince or princess.

Following the statement’s release, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that its website's line of succession list will now be updated to reflect Archie and Lili’s new titles. Currently, the website page states the children’s names as “Master Archie” and “Miss Lilibet”.

It is understood that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex informed King Charles III of their decision to use their children’s prince and princess titles before releasing their statement. However, it is believed that the couple will only use the children’s titles in formal settings.
