Who says that emotional adverts can only air during the festive season?

We love a great ad that can tug on our heartstrings, and Woodie’s brand-new advert certainly does just that.

The home improvement retailer is debuting its latest advert, which they have named ‘Larry’.

Filmed in Dublin’s Marino and backed by Irish crew and production teams, the advert’s message is all about highlighting the power of community and the benefits of sharing resources.

According to Woodie’s, communities across Ireland are always pooling their resources by sharing DIY, Home & Garden products.

This is a great idea as many items are usually bulky and difficult to store, expensive or something that isn't used often. As well as the idea being a lovely way to build close relationships with your neighbours, it’s also a brilliant way to help the environment – and save some money, too!

Speaking with pride for the advert, Woodie’s Head of Marketing Hilda Lyon highlighted the people of Ireland as the company’s inspiration: “Customers are always at the centre of our creative planning process so when we learned that people in communities all over Ireland share large or expensive products that they buy from us, we wanted to celebrate this wonderful demonstration of community spirit.”

The advert will be making its debut today, April 28, in honour of the bank holiday weekend.

So, be sure to keep an eye out for it – and make sure to have a few tissues on hand, too!

Three members of the same family have been named as the victims of a recent car crash in Co. Tyrone.

Christine Duffy, her brother Dan McKane, and their aunt Julia McSorely all tragically lost their lives at around 7:20am yesterday, April 27.

The family had been travelling on a minibus on the A5 Tullyvar Road just outside Aughnacloy when they collided with a lorry.

Devastatingly, the victims had been returning home to Strabane from England at the time of the crash.

Following the incident, parish priest Fr Declan Boland confirmed that the victims had been in England to attend the funeral of a family member, believed to be Julia’s sister.

Four other passengers were taken to hospital following the collision, but their conditions are not yet known.

Speaking to BBC’s The North West Today programme, Fr Boland detailed the grief and sorrow that the family, friends and wider community are feeling.

"The community are struggling to comprehend what is happening. We have to face into the horror of the bodies coming home and then the funerals,” he noted.

Credit: BBC

"People were just gathering in groups, not saying an awful lot but just being there in silent solidarity, embracing one another," he continued, referring to last night’s gathering in the family home. "It really is a silent witness where words are really inadequate."

This tragic accident marks 51 deaths that have happened on the A5 between Dublin and Belfast since 2007. It has been 16 years since a dual carriageway upgrade for the road was initially approved.

Construction has yet to begin on the stretch of road, leading many people, including those from the campaign group A5: Enough is Enough, to express concerns about its safety.

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed yesterday’s crash, who was travelling in the area at the time or has dash-cam footage to contact them.

Masses will be held in both Aughnacloy and Strabane this evening to honour the three family members.

Prima Donna and voice of an angel, Celine Byrne, joins Panti and Angela on the couch. From hauling turf to haute couture, Celine talks about topless performances, performing for Cartier in her Newbridge Silverware and the importance of knowing the difference between a Magnum and a magnum.

The final guest appearing on the show is comedian and presenter Joel Dommett. The Masked Singer presenter lets loose, showing exactly what his nipples can do, how an emoji in his DM’s led to a ring on his finger and how I’m A Celebrity made him, well, a celebrity!

With plenty of quick-wit and bold humour, Angela will be interviewing the celebs as they let their guards down and reveal all, since they all agree to be asked, absolutely anything!

We finally have a trailer for The Kardashians season 3!

Last month, the team behind the hit reality show announced that it would be returning on May 25.

Now, we have finally been given a full-length trailer, and it looks like we are getting a lot of drama this season!

The trailer begins with Kim Kardashian realising that this is the first time that she has filmed for the series since her divorce from ex-husband Kanye West.

“I don’t know how Kim handles everything with her ex-husband,” younger sister Kendall Jenner admits, as footage overlays of the girls’ mother Kris comforting an upset Kim.

“I don’t think you realise the weight of the world is on your shoulders,” Kris shares, to which Kim replies, “He has made up the most insane narrative. We stay silent through all the lies.”

Viewers can also expect to follow Khloé Kardashian through her operation to remove skin cancer from her face.

“She doesn’t sleep, she’s lost a lot of weight,” Kendall worries about her big sister, as Khloé confesses: “This was way more serious than I anticipated it to be.”

The drama-filled trailer also hints at further tension between Kim and Kourtney, following the latter’s lavish nuptials to Travis Barker. “My sister used my wedding as a business opportunity,” Kourtney claims defiantly.

Kendall then goes on to explain that Kourtney “felt like her wedding vibes were, like, stripped from her,” but Kim immediately disagrees, stating: “I’m really confused how this narrative came into her head.”

Lastly, fans of the Kardashian family can expect to see the women having a frank discussion about the influence they have. “All of us just need to have a bigger conversation about the beauty standards that we’re setting,” youngest sister Kylie Jenner notes.

“I don’t want my daughter to do the things I did,” Kylie adds, referring to five-year-old Stormi.

Since the trailer’s release, viewers have been expressing their thoughts on the upcoming season.

“FINALLY!! REAL drama,” one fan exclaimed.

“okay but this is IT!!!! the girlies said ok you want drama? you’re gonna get DRAMA,” another wrote.

“Omg this season is going to be fire, I can just tell!!!” a third added.

The Kardashians season 3 launches on May 25 on Disney+.

The Citadel actress went on to open up about ‘not being able to feel scared’ because her daughter needed her to be strong.

“I don’t think it was our test. I think it was her test. I realised very, very early that I did not have the luxury to be scared or to be weak, because she was scared and weak. And I had to be her strength as her mom”.

“I needed to make her feel at every given moment that she’s not alone…that we’ve got her”.

Chopra then spoke about bringing Malti home from the hospital for the first time, explaining, “You know your child is alive, because you can see their heartbeat (on the monitor). I couldn’t sleep for days, because now suddenly she was home without a monitor”.

“I used to put my ear on her chest. I would wake up every couple of minutes just to see if she was OK. For weeks, this went on”.

When talking about their daughter’s arrival into the world, Priyanka and Nick shared a message that read, “After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home. Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is”.

Michelle Heaton has been reflecting on her life since she first went into rehab after battling with addiction.

The former Liberty X band member first checked into rehab in 2021 and is now marking two years of sobriety.

To make the occasion, Michelle took to Instagram to share a video of her today compared to her first day in rehab to prove how far she has come to her 316K followers.

In the first clip, taken today, Heaton reveals, “Today I wake up two years clean and sober. It wasn’t always like this, I wasn’t always happy, joyous and free. I was suffering from the pain and terror of addiction”.

“The next video was two years ago, the day after I went into rehab. The day after I decided to take action and couldn't live like this anymore”.

The video then shows footage of the 43-year-old sitting in bed, explaining that she had been asleep and will be assessed by doctors later.

“I have literally had such a deep sleep…The doctors came in and gave me more of the same sedation so I’m probably going to be asleep for a while”.

The Just a Little singer captioned the post, “Today I wake up 2 years clean and sober…. When I look back at that video I am reminded how far I have come”.

“I still can’t believe how lost I was, frightened, embarrassed and so very sick. If I can do it YOU can..”.

“Visit www.aa.org for more information. Today, I live a life happy joyous and free from the terror and pain of addiction”.

Many of Michelle’s fans headed to the comments to applaud her for her honest video, with one fan writing, “Powerful video Michelle. You are an inspiration”.

“You are amazing and I am SO proud of you and staying sober for 2 whole years congratulations on living your life free of addiction Michelle”, penned a second fan.

A third added, “What a journey , painful but brave , courageous, important journey and message you are sharing !! Weldone and thank you”.

Yesterday, Michelle shared a throwback photo of herself to Instagram outside the front of the rehab clinic as she checked in for the first time.

She spoke more about how she felt at the time compared to today in the caption. “Bewildered, confused, sad, sick and very frightened”, she started.

“That day I took my last drink. Therefore my sobriety date is tomorrow .. please god. It feels like a lifetime ago and in someways like it was yesterday”.

Heaton continued, “I can still remember heading into there wanting to come out a controlled drinker. A normal drinker. I had no idea how bad i actually was, and that that day would be my last day of drinking”.

“As long as I continue to do my meetings, step program and work on myself I don’t ever need to go back”.

Aer Lingus welcomes the start of three new sun-filled European routes kicking off at the beginning of May. This summer the airline will commence flights to Olbia, on the Italian island of Sardinia, and the Greek island of Kos for the first time on Tuesday 02 May, followed by Brindisi following on 27 May. These exciting new summer destinations are just three of the 53 European destinations taking off from Ireland as part of the Aer Lingus 2023 summer schedule.

The allure of southern Mediterranean destinations continues to captivate Irish travellers, recent European Travel Commission data revealed that these popular holiday hotspots have experienced a rapid recovery, making them the fastest-growing destinations in Europe. Among these southern Mediterranean locations, Italy and Greece have particularly caught the attention of the Irish. According to Google Trends, January 2023 saw a spike in search activity for holidays in these sun-kissed places, indicating a strong desire to escape to their idyllic shores.

In response, Aer Lingus has increased its peak summer capacity to Malaga and Faro from both Cork and Dublin. There is also increased capacity on other popular European routes including, Alicante, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Perpignan, Izmir, Bordeaux, and Athens from Dublin.

Magical Mediterranean

The Mediterranean Sea is renowned for its stunning turquoise blue waters and crystal-clear transparency and the new Aer Lingus Summer Schedule destinations of Kos, Olbia in Sardinia, and Brindisi in Puglia are a few of its many gems.

Sardinia, an Italian island nestled in the Mediterranean boasts 300 days of sunshine a year, with its alabaster sands and aquamarine waters often drawing comparisons to those in the Caribbean. Sardinia's cuisine is a highlight for many visitors, with fresh seafood, homemade pasta, and traditional cheeses such as pecorino sardo specialties in the region. To experience Sardinia like a local, start in the port town of Olbia and enjoy its seafood specialty, mussels.

The island’s commitment to sustainability is evident in South Sardinia, which was recognised as Europe's first sustainable destination according to European Commission standards. It is a must-visit for those looking for a holiday with a low environmental impact. Agritourism is also a growing trend in Sardinia, with many visitors opting to stay on a farm or vineyard and immerse themselves in the culture, sample authentic traditional Sardinian food, and learn about wine production.

Bella Brindisi

Brindisi, a picturesque city in the Puglia region of Italy, is a haven for authentic Italian cuisine. The city boasts a variety of delicious traditional dishes that are sourced and made locally and is famous for the flavourful ‘collina di Brindisi’, an extra virgin olive oil of the region.

But it’s not just about the food in Brindisi. There is plenty to see and do in the city, from food tours to wine tasting, and even hands-on cooking classes that offer a peek into the secrets of authentic southern Italian cuisine.

Kos-tal Paradise

The Greek island of Kos offers an array of experiences for visitors of all kinds. For those looking to take in the best sunset views, Zia is the charming village full of typical Greek restaurants where one can enjoy a plate of Pitardia, similar to lasagne, while admiring the stunning scenery. Lambi beach is the most popular beach on the island, offering white sand and crystal-clear Mediterranean water, while Paradise Beach is more remote, but considered one of the most beautiful.

Foodies will not be disappointed as the Island has a variety of traditional Greek dishes to try. Averof Street in Kos Town is known for its fish taverns, where visitors can indulge in the best fish dinner on the island. Traditional Greek dishes to try include Pitardia, Lambropites, Posa cheese, Marmarites, Thyme honey, and Kanelada, a liquor made with cinnamon and Alefaskia, a herb that grows on the island.

For a unique excursion, visitors can head to the Island of Nisyros, famous for both its volcano and authentic small villages. Meanwhile, for the party-goers, Bar Street in the centre of Kos City is a bustling street populated by young people dancing and enjoying the lively music.

Marking the commencement of Aer Lingus’ new European routes for summer, Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer said, “The inaugural flights to a new destination always create great buzz for customers and employees alike and we’re excited to begin flying to two new Italian destinations and another Greek island in May.

As was the case last year we are seeing huge demand for sun travel this summer, particularly our Mediterranean destinations, with many planning their holiday that little bit earlier than before.

Equally our largest ever transatlantic programme of 2.25 million seats is proving popular with those eager to travel further afield. We will also begin flying to Cleveland, Ohio in May (19) as part of the 16 North American destinations we will serve this year so there is lots of look forward to this summer.”

The 2023 Aer Lingus summer schedule is still available to book on aerlingus.com.

Lindsay Lohan has been sharing a rare glimpse into her pregnancy!

The Mean Girls star announced last month that she is expecting her first child with her husband Bader Shammas.

Since then, Lindsay has been keeping her pregnancy quite private from social media. The expectant mum only chose to debut her bump for the first time earlier this week, which she shared on her Instagram stories.

Well, Lindsay has now posted several bump-dates to her permanent Instagram feed!

Earlier today, the 36-year-old decided to share several heartwarming images from her baby shower, with many including herself and her loved ones.

Lindsay looks positively glowing in the first sweet snap, as she cradles her bump in a garden whilst wearing a figure-hugging white dress.

“Good times,” Lindsay beamed in the caption of her post.

“So grateful for all of the wonderful people in my life!” she added lovingly.

Many famous faces have since taken to the comments section of Lindsay’s post to congratulate her on her pregnancy.

“So happy for you love!” wrote model Paris Hilton, who welcomed her first child Phoenix via surrogacy in January.

“Oh queen you look amazing,” commented Jersey Shore star Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi.

“Look at this gorgeous mama. So much love to you & your family,” added Lisa Ann Walter, who appeared alongside a younger Lindsay as Chessy in the film The Parent Trap.

Lindsay and Bader initially announced on March 14 that they were expecting their first child together.

The Freaky Friday actress took to Instagram at the time to post an image of a white baby grow with the words “Coming soon…” printed on it.

“We are blessed and excited!” Lindsay had exclaimed in her caption.

Lindsay and Bader tend to keep their relationship private, and have done so since their romance was first confirmed in February 2020.

The pair got engaged in November 2021, and subsequently tied the knot on April 3 of last year during an intimate ceremony in Turkey.

We finally have our first look at William and Kate!

Netflix have shared some glimpses into the sixth – and final – season of The Crown.

A post shared by The Crown (@thecrownnetflix)

Earlier today, Netflix took to social media to share three images – one of the young couple walking hand in hand, another of Prince William sitting poised in a room in one of the royal estates, and a final shot of student Kate, with William’s shadow visible over her shoulder.

Sightings of the actors had been shared on social media in recent months, as The Crown had been filming on location at St. Andrews. However, this is the first time that Netflix has released any official content from season six – and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

In September of last year, actor Ed McVey and newcomer Meg Bellamy were announced as the chosen ones to play William and Kate.

The actors will be joining the principal cast who led the drama throughout its fifth season, including the likes of Imelda Staunton (Queen Elizabeth II), Jonathan Pryce (Prince Philip), Dominic West (Prince Charles) and Elizabeth Debicki (Princess Diana).

It is not yet known what the timeline The Crown’s final season will take, or if it will be stretched as far as 2011 –  the year that William and Kate tied the knot and became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

However, at the very least, fans are expecting it to expand to 2005, which is when the young William and Kate graduated from university.

Season six of The Crown is expected to land on our screens later this year. We can’t wait to see it!
