Another popular Irish presenter has just refused the role of hosting of The Late Late Show!

On March 16, Ryan Tubridy announced that, after 14 years, he would be stepping down from the top job.

The 49-year-old is due to leave at the end of this month, and RTÉ have said that they will announce his successor this summer.

Following the confirmation of Ryan’s departure, many have been speculating about who will replace him.

However, despite being a bookies’ favourite, TV and radio presenter Sarah McInerney has now declared that she is not interested in taking over from Ryan.

The 42-year-old took to social media earlier today to share her thoughts on the matter. “I’d like to confirm that I’m not taking over The Late Late Show from either Ryan Tubridy or James Cordon,” Sarah began, making a reference to The Late Late Show in the United States finishing last week.

“Nor have I sought Waystar from Logan Roy,” she added teasingly, referring to the hit HBO drama Succession.

Sarah then went on to explain why she has decided to decline the infamous TV gig. “Though the prospect of grilling young children over their toy choices every December would be enticing, I let RTÉ management know a couple of weeks ago that I wouldn’t be throwing my hat into the ring,” she detailed.

“There’s an election coming, maybe next year. Prime Time and Drivetime will be at the centre of RTÉ’s coverage. Like all political nerds, I can’t wait,” she explained, referencing the presenting roles that she currently holds.

Sarah concluded her statement by praising Ryan for his success. “Ryan Tubridy has done an exceptional job at the helm of The Late Late Show. I’ll really miss him on Friday nights, and I wish his successor the very best of luck,” she penned.

Many other Irish presenters – such as Claire Byrne, Tommy Tiernan, Lucy Kennedy, Jennifer Zamparelli, Doireann Garrihy, Vogue Williams, Baz Ashmawy, Angela Scanlon, Miriam O’Callaghan and Joe Duffy – have already ruled themselves out as contenders for The Late Late Show role.

We can’t wait to find out who will be taking over!

According to a survey carried out by Oxendales, 45% of Irish women call their body type pear shaped. In March 2023, Oxendales conducted an online survey, aimed at gaining independent insight into the attitudes, behaviours and feelings of females in Ireland. The objective of this research was to assess general perceptions towards fashion and shopping in relation to body types.

The findings revealed that 45% of Irish women describe their body type as a pear. Surprisingly almost 9% of respondents described their body shape as Double Cherry, also known as hourglass, 9.4% voted Strawberry shaped, while 16.4% described their body as Rhubarb shaped!

According to the Oxendales survey results, when tasked with shopping for their body type, over 36% of Irish women described it as ‘hard/very hard’, 50% described it as ‘neutral i.e sometimes easy, sometimes hard’ and only 14% described shopping for their body type as ‘easy/very easy’. Finding that perfect outfit can be difficult but when it happens, 98% of respondents feel positive when they find the perfect fit, with over half of the respondents expressing they feel amazing, almost like they could take on the world!

Oxendales has always stayed close and connected to its community. Having been here ever since the 1970s, back when nationwide, catalogue door-drops sparked a page-folding, fashion frenzy and delivery day brought the neighbours in for tea and paisley print fashion shows. Today you’ll find them online; with the same great focus on fashion, always working to make it easier for customers in Ireland to access contemporary collections. Having evolved to digital, customers have moved from page-turners to screen swipers; with the website and app being refreshed often to bring customers the latest collections.

Niamh Walsh Head of Brand Marketing at Oxendales shared, “We at Oxendales feel very privileged to have so many wonderful Irish customers and to be in the position to carry out research towards what they might like to find in fashion. This study should empower customers to find fashionable fits and inclusive sizing for the ordinary and extraordinary days.

Oxendales wants to enable customers to shop without any limits to their personal style. As we come into the summer months, it comes at a great time for us to remind shoppers we’re all more than some fruit, and fashion is to be enjoyed by all.”

Oxendales is on a mission to revamp shopping, bringing fashion, fun and flexible finance to their customers.

A very high percentage of intern nurses and midwives believe their education is struggling in the workplace due to overcrowding in hospitals.

A new survey published by the Irish Nursing and Midwives Organisation has found that almost 3 out of 4 intern nurses and midwives (73%) said that staffing levels are “not sufficient to support a positive learning environment”.

Large numbers of nursing and midwifery interns have said they intend to leave Ireland post-qualification, with 33% stating that if staffing and working conditions were improved, they would delay leaving the country.

Pay is also a significant factor in the option to stay or leave Ireland with 54% revealing their decision to stay after qualifying was dependent on pay.

Other reasons why the interns are considering leaving the country once they are qualified or entering the private healthcare sector is due to the lack of adequate breaks, unmanageable pressure, exhaustion, and a lack of safe staff-to-patient ratios across the Irish health service.

Roisin O’Connell, the INMO Student and New Graduate Officer released a statement on the issue that reads, “We simply can’t afford to be losing newly qualified nurses and midwives, but in light of the conditions they’re describing it’s not surprising so many of them want to leave”.

“Final year students are looking at their qualified colleagues who are burned out and exhausted and they’re seeing how they’re treated by their employer. They see the chronic understaffing and the salary they’re expecting to receive next year and deciding it’s just not worth it”.

She added, “These are young people who joined these professions and completed their training because they love nursing and midwifery, and for many of them we’re seeing that the system has managed to take all of the joy out of their jobs before their careers have even begun”.

INMO General Secretary Phil Ní Sheaghdha also spoke on the matter, explaining, “Measures need to be implemented to ensure safer staffing across the health service and better supports for students and intern, or else we’re looking at a long-term skills shortage in the health service that will have a direct impact on patient care.

“The survey results here show us that student nurses and midwives need to be supported in learning environments throughout and then given early offers of employment with information from the HSE on start date and salary – the delay in this process is actually causing us to lose qualified nurses as they get the information too late and in too many cases the NHS has offers made before the Irish employer”.

“The INMO continues to call for increased undergraduate places and more routes to accessing nursing and midwifery training, so we can increase the numbers of graduates. However, we also need to make working in Ireland a viable option for these graduates, or they will take their skills and their qualifications to countries that can offer them a better life and a better career”.

He wrote, “Blake’s first time traveling to the airport has been a HUGE SUCCESS people. We’ve had dinner, some fruit & a full bottle & even a change of clothing, into something more comfortable so Ms. Blake will sleep on the flight”.

“We have just boarded, so let’s hope when we are 35,000 ft in the air, there are no tears. Even if there is all we can do is carry on & get through it”.

The 44-year-old then honestly revealed, “I’ve honestly been feeling so anxious about it all day. I think it’s perfectly normal as we @gourounlian have never done this before, and neither has Blake. Everyone at the airport has been so kind & helpful. The next stop is the South of France”.

Maya Vander is set to become a mum once more!

The former Selling Sunset star has announced that she is expecting another baby with her husband Dave Miller.

The joyful news comes after the couple suffered a heartbreaking stillbirth in December 2021, and then experienced a tragic miscarriage six months later.

In a statement to the US Sun, the 39-year-old confirmed that she has a baby on the way – and that her little one will be arriving very soon!

"I am 9 months pregnant and I'm expecting a baby girl any day now,” Maya exclaimed.

The expectant mum then went on to explain why she chose to keep her pregnancy a secret until now. "It's exciting, but also this time around I have more fears and more concerns given the last circumstances,” she admitted.

"I kept quiet on social media because I lost a baby when I was nine months pregnant in the past,” Maya continued.

The Netflix star went on to detail that she was eager to have another child. "I know it's hard to understand why I would bother to get pregnant again, but I had a huge void to fill. I stayed calm and positive," she recalled.

"I'm very lucky and thankful for my kids. It was just something that was missing. No one expects to lose a child and give birth to a stillborn,” Maya noted.

Maya finished her statement by sharing one wish that she has. "I hope my story will inspire other women going through any loss,” she concluded.

Maya’s pregnancy news comes almost a year after she confirmed that she would not be featuring in future seasons of Selling Sunset.

"I decided to not go on with the show and it was not an easy decision! Being a part of such a successful hit is absolutely amazing and I am so grateful for!!" she wrote on Instagram in June of last year.

Maya and Dave’s incoming little girl will be joining four-year-old son Aiden and three-year-old daughter Elle.

Congratulations to the happy family on their wonderful news!

Gina Rodriguez has shared a snapshot of her first child!

It was confirmed in March that the Jane The Virgin star had given birth to a baby boy, alongside her husband Joe LoCicero.

Last month, the new mum subtly confirmed that they had decided to name their son Charlie.

Despite choosing to keep her son relatively private from the public eye, Gina has now shared a subtle look at him!

Last night, the 38-year-old took to Instagram to celebrate her fourth wedding anniversary.

As well as posting a heartwarming photo of herself and Joe beaming at each other, Gina also chose to include a sweet snap of the couple’s hands gently wrapped around baby Charlie’s tiny feet.

“Happy Anniversary, my sweet love,” the mum-of-one penned in the caption of her post.

“From our love came this little scrumptious baby boy,” Gina continued to gush.

“You and Charlie are my whole universe,” she concluded in her message.

Gina and Joe subsequently went on to receive an abundance of congratulatory messages for their anniversary.

“Happy Anniversary you two — now three! — love bugs!!” One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush replied.

“Happy Happy Anniversary to you guys!!!” commented Orange Is The New Black actress Uzo Aduba.

“love your love!!! HUZZAHHHHHHHHHH,” added singer Emily Estefan.

The adorable new snap comes after Gina recently opened up about the guilt that she has been experiencing since becoming a mum.

In an interview with People to promote ‘Mother’s Other Day’, the actress expressed how important it is for mothers to look after themselves.

"I think now that I'm a mom, I look at these moments as being a little selfish at times. If I go out for an hour to work out or to grab a taco, or to just read, I feel so much guilt because I miss my little man so much," she confessed.

"It's something that I'm working on because I know it's not selfish. I know it brings me back to one. I know it makes me more present with him,” Gina added.

With a unique combination of 3 of the most potent ingredients on the market, scientists from Swiss longevity supplement brand Avea-Life have created a formula never seen before. Targeting the “triad” of joint pain: inflammation, oxidative stress and cartilage damage, Avea Life Mobiliser reduces pain, increases mobility and enhances flexibility using high-performing ingredients and dosages backed by multiple clinical studies.

Targeting joint pain from 3 key angles, the Mobiliser lowers oxidative stress (antioxidant), reduces inflammation (anti-inflammatory) and promotes cartilage repair (regenerative). As we age, our body naturally experiences ‘wear and tear’, as our cartilage wears down, causing joint pain. In the UK, 17 million people (2014) suffer from osteoarthritis, half of which say they experience pain every day. Not only do joint issues cause physical pain but also mobility loss, anxiety, depression and social isolation. Avea’s Mobiliser supplement is formulated to target age-related joint issues through anti-inflammatory ingredients that also repair cartilage and protect it from further wear, helping you to regain mobility and flexibility over time. Not only does the Mobiliser reduce chronic inflammation it also enhances athletic performance and speeds up recovery time, easing muscle and joint soreness after exercise.

Avea’s Mobiliser contains 3 cutting-edge ingredients: UCII (40mg), Maritime Pine Bark extract (200mg) and Hydrocurc A.K.A Curcumin (500mg), that have been clinically shown to support shorter recovery time, less joint discomfort after exercising and better flexibility & performance. Undenatured type II collagen (UCII) works in the gut to trigger an immune response for joint-health benefits, outperforming the classical glucosamine-chondroitin combo that is often used in joint health supplements. Hydrocurc from the Curcuma root is the most bioavailable & potent form of Curcumin, having anti-inflammatory & antioxidant properties, whilst Maritime Pine Bark extract is sourced from maritime pine trees and is clinically proven to reduce joint pain, improve mobility, promoting blood flow & better muscle oxygenation to boost physical performances.

After 30 days of use, Pine Bark improves muscle recovery and endurance, whilst Hydrocurc works to reduce pain at 48 hours & 72 hours post-exercise. UCII has been found to rebuild cartilage and prevent further damage after 8 weeks of use, leading to better flexibility and comfort. Avea-Life recommend taking 2 supplements per day, morning and evening for best results.
