Trinity College is about to break almost 400 years of academic tradition by introducing Christmas exams for students for the first time.

The college is also set to introduce an earlier start to the academic year.

The changes are set to been implemented by the academic year 2018/2019.

A survey run by the TCD Students’ Union in 2010 found that 90 per cent of students were in favour of a move, according to TCD's student paper.

Some members of the academic staff are against the move, citing the fact that it would "undermine research and require correcting two sets of exams," according to the Irish Times.

However, the vast majority of students feel that having two sets of exams is fairer to the students and would alleviate the pressure of a single exam season.

Let's be honest, if you've never sent a message to the wrong person, then you've had some very near misses, right?

Well, one guy who failed miserably on the texting front has had his indiscretion splashed all over Twitter after the girl he messaged shared his fail with the wider world.

In a post which has racked up a staggering 99,000 likes in mere days, Twitter user,  tired girl, revealed the moment an intended hang-out session went from chill to facepalm in just six words.

After being invited over to her dorm, the lad at the centre of this incident only went and shared his excitement about the night ahead in a message we're pretty certain he wouldn't have wanted her to see.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter had a field day, with one user writing: "I feel bad but it's so funny that actually happened."

"I guess at least he saved you some time by accidentally revealing his true colors," reasoned another.

So, if you see that phrase trending over the next few days, you'll know why.

Okay, so First Dates is always a tad awkward, which is no surprise seeing as it involves Irish people trying to be cool on national television while their love lives hang in the balance.

But last night's episode really took the cake when it came to the cringe level.

We've had lads making sandwich jokes in front of feminists and golfing jokes going way over peoples heads, but we were not prepared for what went down last night.

Ballymun lad Wes, who enjoys long walks to the off licence, was paired up with Lady Gaga superfan Sunil, and the two seemed to really hit it off.

Then, Wes did something slightly unprecedented: he pulled out his own cutlery, complete with napkin.

Initially Sunil seemed a touch weirded out, but after Wes explained that it was a germ thing, the two settled back into their easy chatting.

While the high-maintenance hygiene habit may have but some people off, Sunil wasn't phased, and the two continued their romance in Pantibar after the show.

True love, eh?

2018 will mark the 20th anniversary of SM:TV Live's launch on Saturday mornings (now we feel old), and we kind of miss it.

Much to our delight, rumour has it that a reunion could be on the cards, so getting our Chums fix might be a reality.

SM:TV Live was one of Ant & Dec's first TV presenting gigs, and the two may return to mark the 20th anniversary with a reunion special.

"It's funny, we were talking to somebody about this recently, because it's 20 years since the launch of SM:TV Live next year," Ant told Digital Spy.

"So we were saying if there was appetite that we could do an anniversary special or something, and we kind of got carried away with the idea, didn't we?

"If we did just a one-off, and it had to be 9.25am, with Chums and all that, and get Cat back," he said.

This is extremely exciting news, and we're already feeling nostalgic!

Caitlyn Jenner loaned her voice to the advancement of the rights of transgender individuals when she spoke out against Trump's transgender bathroom ban today.

The Trump administration revoked a set of federal guidelines put in place by former president Obama that allows transgender students to use the school bathrooms and locker rooms that match their chosen gender identity.

Understandably, people are upset about the decision, and feel that the move is "cruel" and "backwards."

Caitlyn Jenner, who made her transition in front of the entire world, has a few choice words for the POTUS.

Taking to social media, the Olympian posted a video outlining her thoughts on the issue.

Caitlyn, who has previously gotten heat for supporting the Republican party, had this to say:

“I have a message for the trans kids of America: You’re winning. I know it doesn’t fee like it today or every day, but you’re winning."

"Very soon we will win full freedom nation-wide and it’s going to be with bipartisan support."

“I have a message for President Trump from one Republican to another. This is a disaster. And you can still fix it," she said.

"You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me.”

"President Trump's decision to rescind anti-discrimination protections for transgender students is yet another cruel move by an administration committed to divisive policies that roll back the clock on civil rights," said New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, according to Reuters.

Trump reportedly said that transgender people should able to use whatever bathroom they please, while on the campaign trail in New York last April.

At the time, the future POTUS said he would "leave things the way they are," according to the New York Times.

The term "breaking the internet" gets thrown around a lot these days, but that's definitely what happened when Beyoncé posted a surprise snap of her baby bump on Instagram last month.

After the initial shock had worn off (and the ten million likes were secured) people began to question if Beyoncé would be able to honour one particular work commitment this coming summer.

The pop sensation was set to headline at the ultimate American music festival, Coachella, but fans speculated that she would be five or six months pregnant with twins by that stage.

The festival has announced that the soon-to-be mum-of-three will no longer be performing, after weeks of consideration.

"Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival," reads a statement on the Coachella Facebook page.

"However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding."

According to TMZ previously, the news was a shock to Coachella executives, with a source saying: "At least some of the top execs had no idea Bey was expecting, and it now makes her headlining gig at the festival problematic."

We're sure Coachella fans will understand.

We always love when old cast mates join together years later.

And the latest is High School Musical's Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel (a.k.a. Chad and Ryan).

A post shared by Lucas Grabeel (@mrgrabeel) on

The pair were back together for Corbin's birthday today and of course, made the reunion Instagram-official.

Taking to the social media site, Lucas shared a group pic and captioned it: "For @corbinbleu's birthday we decided to save the world… with 7.40 to spare."

The gang enjoyed a day out in LA's Room Escape, where people have 60 minutes to find their way out of a locked room by completing brain teasers, much like The Adventure Rooms over our side of the pond.

One thing is getting us down though; we have aged a hella lot since High School Musical first aired but LOOK at these two lads… faces as fresh as daisies.
