Adam Levine was once voted the Sexiest Man Alive, but we have a feeling he'll be waiting a while to win that award again… unless his hair can grow at superhuman speed.

The Maroon 5 frontman is known for his perfectly styled dark locks, but he said bye-bye to the quiff this week and did the unthinkable. Posting a selfie to Instagram this morning, Adam revealed he had shaved all his hair off:

It seems we're not the only ones who got a shock when we saw Adam's barely-there do, as his wife of one year Behati Prinsloo didn't look all that happy either. "She's into me… I think…" Adam wrote, sharing a picture of himself and Behati lying beside each other.

This isn't the first time Adam has changed up his hairstyle, but it's definitely the most extreme look we've seen. Back in 2012 the singer went for a short buzzcut, saying he considered a head shave "an emotional reboot.”

Behati was even left in charge of his look a few months ago, going for a shaved-sides-and-quiff style:

We somehow doubt she was the mastermind behind the full head shave, though…

It's been a whirlwind couple of years for Wicklow-born musician Hozier, whose song Take Me To Church turned him from an unknown singer-songwriter into Ireland's most successful musical export of the last decade.

The song's video, a gritty black-and-white tale of homophobic violence, was shot back in 2013 with a budget of less than €2,000 and a turnaround time of just a few days. It's since been viewed an incredible 235 million times on YouTube and was even played at this year's Grammys, where Take Me To Church was nominated for Song of the Year.

Now, the two Cork filmmakers behind the video could be set to have their work recognised on yet another international stage, with the news that their video has picked up two nominations at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Brendan Canty and Conal Thomson were left stunned today to hear they'd been nominated for both Best Rock Video and Best Direction at the VMAs, which take place on August 30th in Los Angeles.

"It's the nicest thing, it really is lovely to hear," Brendan told SHEmazing! today from his home in Ballincollig, Cork.

Although Take Me To Church has been nominated for countless awards since its release in 2013, including a Billboard nomination this year for Best Rock Song, and the aforementioned Grammy nod, this is one of the first times that the video itself has been recognised by a judging panel.

"It's a bit odd," Brendan admits. "We haven't really even been up for small accolades or awards and now we're being nominated for two VMAs." Although things may have been quiet on the awards front, Brendan and Conal's filmmaking careers have come a long way since the video was shot almost two years ago.

The pair, both CIT graduates, now work with other Irish artists like Gavin James, MMOTHS and Young Wonder, though they'd never rule out working with Hozier again. "He's an absolutely lovely guy," Brendan says. "Seeing him in interviews now, he is still exactly as he was two years ago."

The lads' involvement with the video might never have come about, if it wasn't for a tweet posted by Brendan after he heard the song for the first time. Hozier was already signed to independent label Rubyworks at that stage, and after a few exchanges over Twitter and via email, a deal was made and a video shot in and around rural Cork.

When did Brendan realise the video – in which Hozier himself even makes a cameo appearance as a masked thug – was a viral success? Almost instantly, he says. "The night it was uploaded, Andrew [Hozier-Byrne] messaged me and said it was getting a huge reaction on Reddit. There were hundreds and hundreds of positive comments, which was unusual because Reddit users aren't always so kind."

Within 24 hours, the video racked up 100,000 views, and that number has been growing ever since. "Suddenly the song was everywhere," says Brendan of the unexpected success. "It never stopped going viral. It's mad. We were always waiting for that point where the hype would die off but it just didn't happen."

As for the upcoming awards ceremony in Los Angeles, the lads are understandably keen to head along. "I was straight onto the record company asking, 'Can we go?,'" Brendan jokes. "The VMAs are very celebrity-focused, which is why it's really great to be recognised in the Best Direction category, it feels a bit more meaningful."

We'll be watching out for the Cork flags in the crowd on August 30th…

So look, mascara doesn’t always come very cheap. Often there’s going to be a decision to be made: Do I buy snacks, or more beauty products?

If you’re anything like some of us, then snacks are a pretty popular option. Well, don’t worry, because one helpful YouTube blogger has found the solution.

She makes mascara out of Oreos. Of course! How come we never thought of this before? Most likely because we enjoy, as so many people do, eating our food.

However, this beauty blogger makes the process look so easy that we think we might be tempted to give it a try.

The very simple method just requires you to smash the biscuit part of your Oreo into tiny pieces and then mix it with water to make for an easier application. It sounds fool proof, doesn’t it? Katharine uses an alcohol sanitizer to make sure the pot is completely clean. However, it is probably worth bearing in mind that getting a lot of food in your eye area is probably not so good for them.

One big positive about this handy tutorial, aside from being quite bizarre and entertaining, obviously, is that you don’t need to use the cream filling of the Oreos. Basically, yet another reason for you to enjoy scooping out the centre, because you really needed another reason..

Katharine is also responsible for making lipstick out of Starbursts and eyeliner from M&Ms. So, you can always try those too if you're feeling particularly adventurous.

It’s tough to find the time to eat right and exercise – but actually a few simple changes can make ALL the different to your waist-line.

Here, SHEmazing! gathers up a handful of insider weight-loss tricks and tips, so you can be trim and healthy without even trying…

1) Take the stairs:

No more excuses! But something as simple as taking the stairs can have a BIG impact on your waistline. Plus, after a day or two you won’t think twice about skipping the lift or escalator.

The same goes for standing; instead of diving for the nearest seat on public transport, stand up tall and burn calories while you commute.

2) Don't shy away from a cold blast:

OK, it’s maybe not the most pleasant thing at the time – but afterwards you'll feel great. And an added bonus is that a cold, 30-second blast during your morning shower could help you burn fat for the rest of the day.

If you just can’t manage that – at least then drink plenty of iced water. Indeed, German researchers found that drinking a litre-and-a-half of cold water daily can raise resting metabolism by about 50 calories: enough to shed a 1.5kg over the year.

3) Have more green tea:

Aim to drink a cup of green tea four times a day, and you could burn an additional 100 calories. That could result in weight-loss of a full kilo over the course of a month: not bad for doing very little other than sticking the kettle on.

If that’s not your thing a blast of caffeine can rev your metabolism by as much as eight percent, also burning around 100 calories daily.

4) Make sure to eat breakfast:

Mammy was right all along: it IS the most important meal of the day. That’s because eating breakfast jump-starts your metabolism. In fact, those who skip it (and there are a lot who are guilty of that) are four-and-a-half times more likely to be obese.

Stick to plenty of protein and slow-burning carbs though; that means that cereal, toast or fatty meats are out. A good bet? Scrambled eggs: in one study, overweight women who had two eggs a day for eight weeks lost 65 percent more weight than those who ate plain bagels.

5) Whip up some soup:

Home-made vegetable or chicken broth takes just minutes to put together. You can whip it up in the evening before you go to bed, ready for the following morning.

Have a mug before you head out for a meal (it will keep you away from the bread-basket and encourage healthier menu choices) or simply fill up a bowl and heat when you feel hungry – it will tick you over until dinner-time nicely and help you avoid nutritional pitfalls such as crisps, biscuits and chocolate.

6) Make Epsom salts part of your routine:

Weight-loss with no pain! Add one or two mugs of Epsom salts (available from pharmacies) to a hot bath to help draw out toxins in the evening. Get into a regular routine of two or three baths a week, and really speed up your weight loss.

Apparently this is a firm favourite with a load of models and celebrities – so certainly worth a try, we say.

7) Go to bed earlier:

A study in Finland looked at sets of identical twins and discovered that in each set of siblings, the twin who slept less and was under more stress had more fat gain around their tummies.

So switch off completely – that means leaving all electronic devices at the bedroom door – and move away from Netflix, you have some serious shut-eye to catch up on.

8) Just ditch the diet!

Sure, we’ve heard it all before – but it’s said for a reason: diets don’t work! If you’re carrying excess weight, then pretty much the only way to shift it is to come up with a long-term, slow-and-steady programme that champions a healthy diet combined with exercise.

Juicing, shake, meal replacement or supplement plans are a waste of your time and money. Not only that, but you could end up heavier than when you began.

So eat more nutrient-dense food, avoid empty calories and make real efforts to stay active. Give yourself one meal a week too to eat whatever you want so you’re never deprived.

Despite the fact that most girls are in possession of at least one or two (unless you’re like, Beyonce or Kate Middleton), it remains the ultimate ‘we can NEVER speak of it’ secret.

It’s a serious beauty no-no; a major grooming taboo.

And yet, if you have hair that goes below, well, your ear lobes, the fact of the matter is you probably have split ends of sorts.

Some are small and insignificant – others are advanced and troublesome.

Making sure you’re booked in for regular salon appointments is vital, but what’s more important is putting in place a firm split ends plan-of-action to truly tackle the situation.

Here are our top tips…

  • Choose a cushioned paddle brush with flexible bristles
  • Shampoo your scalp – not the ends, but the opposite is true for conditioner: your ends need plenty of it
  • Don’t towel-dry your hair
  • Try not to use styling products (including your hair dryer) beyond the mid-section of your strands

Still, all the top tips won’t do much good unless you’re also choosing expert products that are specifically tailored for your hair’s needs.

Our best bet? TRESemmé’s Platinum Strength Shampoo and Conditioner.

After all, everyday styling can be tough on your mane, leaving it dry, dull and desperate. Thankfully, however, the Platinum Strength collection is developed to seriously fortify and strengthen every strand.

In fact, the shampoo and conditioner repair up to TWO YEARS of damage after just five washes. They also reinforce your hair’s natural protective layer.

Meaning, with TRESemmé’s help, you can wave goodbye to dry, dull, and frizzy hair that’s prone to breakages… and a very big hello to shiny tresses and head-turning vibrancy.

An added bonus? With Platinum Strength your healthy locks will also be protected against future styling damage.

After one long year and seven months of constant speculation as to whether they would get back together again, Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom officially finalised their divorce.

Khloé, 31, and Lamar, 35, were married for four years but filed for divorce in December of 2013.

TMZ reports that according to court documents the pair signed legal documents to make the separation official on July 17. The decision to end their marriage was a long time coming. At one point a judge had threatened to dismiss the case as so much time had passed without any activity in the duo’s file.

Since their high-profile split, Lamar has largely been out of the public spotlight while rumours circulated he was struggling with drug and alcohol issues. He also has had to deal with the death of good friend Jamie Sangouthai, 37.  Then just one week later another of his friends Bobby Heyward also passed away.

According to Hollywood Life, Khloé has been supporting Lamar through the difficult time.

Khloé was apparently considering not going through with the divorce as recently as December 2014, after her relationship with rapper French Montana fizzled out.

Recently, she has been linked with basketball player James Harden. However, things between the pair may not be as good as Instagram would have us believe.

Hollywood Life is reporting that model Rochelle Relf, 23, is claiming that she and James were together after he and Khloé had taken their romantic Hawaii getaway.

“Khloé was with James in Hawaii, then he flew to Australia and spent the night with me. He was charming, affectionate – he asked me to visit him in America and told me he was a single guy,” Rochelle told New Idea.

“He kept checking I was single and asked if a boyfriend would come bursting through the door looking for me.”

Not exactly what we wanted to hear about Khloé’s new BF, but she will no doubt have something to say about those rumours.

It's a boy Johnny Vegas and his TV presenter wife Maia Dunphy!

Irish broadcaster Maia welcomed her new arrival four days ago, but took some time to adjust to life as a new mum before revealing the happy news on social media… and posting a brilliant photo update.

"Our new man has his Dad's habits already," she wrote, sharing a photo of a pair of baby Converse booties next to two adult pairs. "Tom Laurence arrived last Friday, at a civilised hour after lunch. 7lbs2."

Johnny also celebrated the news on Twitter with a few trademark jokes, saying, "He's got his Mother's eyes & my taste in footwear" and referring to his newborn son as "7lb 2 ounces of nonstop pooing."

Journalist Maia also revealed she wouldn't be welcoming any "post baby-body" queries adding that anyone to mention the term would get "a slap." Good woman Maia.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child back in January, sharing a picture of their first scan with a pint of Guinness resting on its belly:

Thanking fans for their support today, Moone Boy star Johnny took to social media again to say, "Overwhelmed by your lovely response to our new arrival Twitter, thanks so much everyone. Will do my best to read through all your messages x"

We can't wait to see the first photo of little Tom.

In case you missed it over the weekend, the #GrowingUpWithSiblings Twitter trend brought back some very intense memories of fights for the bathroom. It also reminded us all that no family car journey would ever be complete without a fight over who sat in the middle, or the lengths we went to keep control of the remote.

Sure, some lucky people had childhoods blissfully unaware of what it was like have your wardrobe routinely raided, but that was not always the case. As usual, Twitter users were very quick to remind us what is was really like to grow up with brothers and sisters and the results were hilarious.

You were capable of serious plotting

The moment of panic

We all wanted to be the favourite at some point

Feeling very smug whenever this happened

"No we don't."

We feel your pain

Well, that certainly took an unexpected turn.

Normally when we go to our favourite singer’s concert we hope we get close enough to get at least one decent picture of the star. Some people would go so far as to battle their way to the barrier in the hope of catching a sweaty towel.

The excitement of actually getting a selfie with your favourite superstar would more than likely tip anyone over the edge.

So we can only imagine how this Enrique Iglesias fan reacted after he took their camera into his own hands for a very special selfie.

One lucky fan is now the proud owner of a photograph of his package. Yup, we’re not joking. The singer took the camera and wasted no time getting the perfect ‘selfie’ for his fan.

I usually don't take #selfies, but when I do…

Another person in the crowd was able to snap a photo of all the action. It was later uploaded to Enrique’s Instagram account with the caption I usually don’t talk #selfies, but when I do…”

Well, his tour is called “Sex & Love”, so things were bound to get a little raunchy eventually, no?

Although, one Instagram user was quick to point out, "De que sirve si no se ve nada?"

Essentially there were saying: “What’s the point if you can’t see anything?” A valid point, we think.

The singer’s interesting on stage antics come not too long after his brush with the law. Last month he was reportedly set to appear in court following an incident in Florida in May.

After being pulled over and driving with a suspended licence, he attempted to swap seats with the other person in the car. The master plan didn’t fool anyone though, and he was charged with obstruction without violence.

Taylor Swift is doing a Kanye West on it, people.

The singer has most definitely conquered the world of music and now she is turning her hand to fashion with a brand new clothing line. Sadly for us though, it's only going to be available to fans in China. Taylor's 1989 World Tour hits Asia soon, and to celebrate, her new official clothing line will be available for purchase on Chinese fashion site JD.com.

The designs are being launched in conjunction with Heritage 66, a company which helps American celebs to boost their careers in China. Very savvy. Featuring a range of "high-quality dresses, sweatshirts and tops" all "created by Taylor Swift," the collection launches next month, according to CNN Money.

As yet it's unclear whether the new clothing range will be branded with Taylor's name and lyrics, as with the official merch already available on her official site:

Back in January the singer caused controversy among fans when it was announced she was trademarking a number of her lyrics, including, "This Sick Beat”, “Party Like It’s 1989″, “Cause We Never Go Out of Style” and “Nice To Meet You. Where You Been?"

The aim of the trademarks was to prevent any unofficial merchandise making its way to the mainstream market, effectively giving Tay a monopoly on any clothing or accessories featuring her name or lyrics.

Is there anything this girl hasn't thought of?

Since the announcement last week that Stephanie Davis would be leaving Hollyoaks the rumours around he departure have begun to come to light.

Not long before her contract was terminated it was found that Stephanie was on holiday in Marbella.

According to The Sun, one fellow holidaymaker has said that on the day Stephanie was due back home for filming, she was “absolutely hammered”.

The paper the reports that Stephanie was hospitalized as a result of her partying and then called in sick after “wasting” too much time in hospital on her holiday.

The source went on to say: “She said she was supposed to be filming that day but had told them she was still ill, while actually she was throwing back cocktails with us. She was quite brazen about pulling the stunt, too.”

Her departure from the show came only months after she signed a contract but there are rumours she turned up on set “unfit” for work.

According to the Daily Mail Stephanie has a reputation for being a party girl and her now private Instagram includes plenty of snaps of her and boyfriend Sam Reece out and about on the Manchester and Liverpool social scene. There was also an incident in 2011 when she accidentally flashed onlookers making her way out of a British Soap Awards after-party.

Breaking her extended Twitter silence only days ago, Stephanie was quick to attempt to put a stop to the rumours surrounding her departure.

Her spokesperson stated her contract was terminated “following warnings for lateness, attendance” and also an incident “in which she turned up to set unfit to work because of alcohol consumption.”

Stephanie then told OK! Magazine that she did not have any issues.

Marcy’s Diner in Portland, Maine became the centre of huge controversy over the weekend after the owner Darla Neugebauer decided to stop a child from screaming. She opted to scream back at her.

The child’s mother, Tara Carson, took to her Facebook page to write about the incident. The post has since been deleted but it set off a huge argument online about whether Darla acted appropriately or not.

Things then escalated even further when the Marcy’s Diner Facebook page replied to Carson’s post detailing the incident even further.

They wrote that the whole ordeal started because the Carson family ordered too many pancakes.

The next day, the page went on to discuss the incident again and pointed out that the child was screaming for over half an hour. They said the parents should have taken her outside.

“I can’t explain why there’s crazy people in this world that behave like that,” Tara Carson told KVUE reporters as she said she felt “helpless” during the whole ordeal.

Speaking to KVUE herself, Darla said: “I slammed my hands on the table and said, ‘this needs to stop’ — meaning her screaming — and I pointed at her and she looked at me and she stopped.”

While she admitted she “might have used poor judgement”, Darla also isn’t going to apologise.

Meanwhile, more and more people are commenting on the Facebook page to show their support for Darla, and admit they too hate screaming children.

Others are a bit baffled by the diner’s annoyance at being asked to make pancakes.
