Ah parents. We love 'em! These may be quotes you hear over the phone if you don't live at home, on the weekends when you visit home, or every minute of every day if you live at home!

With Christmas just around the corner, we look forward to hearing these a LOT more:

1. "It’s lashing – would ya not bring my red jacket with you?"
Rather be caught dead, thanks though!

2. "Have you worn that skirt I got you yet, I haven’t noticed it at all?"
Oh, um…I wore it last week. No mammy I love it, honestly!

3. "That’s it – I’m finished with you"
What does that even MEAN?!

4. "Who are you hanging around with these days using language like that?"
I only said shut up…

5. "Don’t sit on the radiator – you’ll get piles"/ "Don't sit so close to the fire you'll get a kidney infection
You are actually a little bit wary of these warnings

6. "Ask your mother"
Usually in relation to where something is

7. "Ask your father"
Usually in relation to being allowed to go somewhere/ do something

8. "Will you take the shopping from the car there when you’re done sitting in front of the TV all day?"
You literally sat down the second the door opened…typical

9. "Are you still in bed?! It’s 9am! Are you coming to mass, I suppose not"
It's more of a guilt trip than an actual question

10. "Talk to your granny, here, talk to her!  I couldn’t be listening to her"
Ah, the future

Ah, the internet. It never ceases to amaze, confuse and bemuse us.

This photo of Ed Sheeran has been flying around Reddit and shows the singer apparently wearing lingerie on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Unfortunately, the image is photoshopped, but that doesn’t stop us from loving it. In fact, we think the question needs to be asked; if Taylor and Ariana both essentially performed in their undies – why not the lads?!

We’re sure there would have been plenty of ladies and gentlemen out there that would have appreciated if the lads took their love of lingerie to the next level.

Hopefully next year, there won’t be a need for photoshop, eh Ed?!

Christmas is made for movies. It's when everyone is at home, the fire is on, the kettle is always hot and the TV plays all our favourite festive movies on repeat!

Here are our favourite scenes:

1. Love Actually
When Mark turns up and declares his love for Juliet…sob

2. Home Alone
When Kevin's mom finally makes it home to her little boy – grab the tissues!

3. Bridget Jones' Diary
When Bridget chases Mark Darcy and she's wearing no pants and they have an epic kiss in the snow

4. Miracle on 34th Street
When Santa signs with the adorable little girl after her mom tells him she is deaf

6. Elf
When Buddy meets the store manager and he tells him Santa is coming

7. Sleepless in Seattle
Just when you think all is lost – little Jonah forgets his bag on top of the Empire State building

8. The Santa Clause
Scott's visit to the doctor is always a classic

9. It's A Wonderful Life
Most of this film is just a sobfest – a beautiful, wonderful sobfest!

10. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Not festive per se – but come on, who doesn't watch this at Christmas time?! When you realise Wonka isn't actually a crook, it's just lovely!

Last year’s X Factor finalist, Nicholas McDonald has admitted that he was disappointed in his mentor, Louis Walsh. The young singer was speaking to OK! magazine when he made the surprising admission, saying: “Louis supported me and guided me the best way. He got me to where I am today. But when we got to the final and he asked everyone to vote for Sam, I was thinking ‘Isn’t he meant to be my mentor?’”

Always a sweetie however, Nicholas also professed his love for last year’s winner, saying: “I was a bit disheartened but Sam Bailey is phenomenal. She’s like Celine Dion, she’s crazy amazing.”

Aww, what a cutie, we’re sure it was a shock for him to hear Louis tell people to vote for another act.

Louis doesn't have an act in this year's final following the elimination of Stereo Kicks, but seems to be backing Fleur East to win the competition.

Fleur wowed judges and audiences last weekend with her amazing rendition of Mark Ronson's Uptown Funk which shot straight to number one in the iTunes charts shortly afterwards.

We reckon Sony officials will rethink before they write any emails after this incident! Following a computer hack that occurred at the company last week, emails from top heads at Sony have been leaked – and they’re not pretty!

The emails between Sony Pictures co-chairperson, Amy Pascal and producer Scott Rudin, printed on Gawker, show the hassle that occurred between the planned Steve Jobs and Cleopatra movies.

David Fincher, director of this year’s Gone Girl, pulled out of the planned Cleopatra production back in 2013, much to the annoyance of Angelina Jolie, who was supposed to be the lead role.

According to the emails, Angelina was not happy about David heading over to work on the Steve Jobs biopic, and the messages between Amy and Scott show just how tense things had got.

Amy wrote to the producer: “She [Angelina assumedly] is upset about us giving David Jobs. She wants to talk” to which Scott fires back: “She’ll survive it. I don’t want to waste my time on this … I’ve told you exactly how I want do this material. It’s the ONLY way I want to do this material. I’m not remotely interested in presiding over a $180m ego bath we both know will be the career-defining debacle for us both. I’m not destroying my career over a minimally talented spoiled brat who thought nothing of shoving this off her plate for eighteen months so she could go direct a movie. I have no desire to be making a movie with her, or anybody, that she runs and we don’t.”

Yikes – something tells us Angelina’s days with Sony Pictures may have come to an end after those harsh words!

The emails also claim that Adam Driver was a "terrible idea" for the new Star Wars movie and also branded Michael Fassbender a fantastic actor but "not yet a star".

They were one of Hollywood’s rare success stories – until it all went wrong back in 2001. Now, Nicole Kidman has explained a misunderstanding about her marriage break-down to Tom Cruise.

The actress has said that the movie Eyes Wide Shut, in which they starred together, was not the beginning of their issues, and that she is glad they did the movie: “We loved it. Everyone thought that was when our marriage started to break down – not at all. That movie was a great part of our life together, and I’m glad we have it.”

Nicole and Tom were married for eleven years, from 1990 until 2001, and have two children together, Isabella and Connor.

The Paddington actress is now happily married to country musician Keith Urban with whom she has two daughters, Sunday and Faith.

Tom later had a high-profile marriage to Katie Holmes, but they later divorced in 2012 and have one daughter together, Suri.

It’s nice to hear that Nicole still values the life that she and Tom once had together!

Model Danielly Lloyd is said to be granted the first part of her 'quickie' divorce from her footballer husband Jamie O’Hara later today.

The model filed for divorce back in September when photos of her husband on a night out with TOWIE star Maria Fowler proved to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Though Jamie is reported to have cheated on his wife with two women, it was this incident that is said to have led Danielle to file for divorce.

Maria, who was Danielle's close friend at the time, later alleged that Jamie had tried to kiss her: “He tried to kiss me, but I told him to go home. I made it clear I wasn’t interested in him.” Danielle did not believe Maria's story at first but eventually came around to the truth.

The court hearing in London is being held today and is expected to allow the couple to be officially divorced in the new year.

Danielle and Jamie had been married for two years before things began to go sour and are parents to three sons – Archie (4), Harry (3) and 18-month-old George.

Lily Allen is one unhappy bunny after a false report was created stating that she had given up alcohol and was trying to “grow up”.

According to reports, Lily allegedly told reporters at the British Fashion Awards: “I’m sober tonight. I haven’t had a drink for a month. It’s been hard not drinking, but I’m trying to grow up. Finally.”

However, it seems there may not be any truth to these claims as the singer has now taken to her Twitter account and blasted the media, threatening to leave the world of social media altogether:

“Let’s give up social media and the Mail Online. It’s killing me. That is all … I feel like we’re not evolved enough to handle the internet, psychologically. I preferred real record and newspapers with news in them … And everything was just better and nicer. We were nicer. And I wouldn’t be here … Might sell my twitter now.”

We can’t say we blame her for feeling sick of all of the rumours that seem to follow her, especially in relation to being a mum and her relationship with her husband. That said, we love Lily on Twitter – don’t leave us!

Christmas drinks like mulled wine and creamy liqueurs are generally higher in sugar than other year-round beverages. But do you really know many calories you are really racking up?

According to recent research, the average party-goer will consumer around 4,000 calories during the festive season, which works out at around 40 glasses of wine. When you consider how many "just the ones" you can end up having at parties, gatherings, Christmas dinners and lunches, it doesn't seem all that far fetched.

But not all festive drinks pack in the calories! Here are a few easy swaps to keep in mind over the next few weeks – and remember, moderation is key. Pace your drinking and try to fit in a glass of water at least every second drink.

What you're drinking: Mulled wine

Calorie count: A small 120 ml glass of mulled wine packs in around 190 calories.

Swap for: Switch it up by drinking a glass of regular red wine instead, which contains just 85 calories per 125 ml glass.

What you're drinking: White wine

Calorie count: White wine is higher in sugar than red, and it contains around 100 calories per 125 ml glass – this can increase or decrease depending on the brand and alcohol content.

Swap for: A sparkling drink. Champagne contains around 89 calories per 120 ml flute, and Prosecco contains just 80 calories in the same quantity.

What you're drinking: Cider (hot or cold!)

Calorie count: A pint of cider contains around 230 calories.

Swap for: Beer is actually lower in calories than sugary cider – a pint of lager contains around 164 calories. Of course, spirits will always be one of the most diet-friendly alcoholic beverage. A vodka or gin with tonic generally contains around 80 – 100 calories.
