Actress Melora Rivera is recovering following a terrifying ordeal at her home in LA on Wednesday.

Melora, who had a minor role in the 2012 movie, Sparkle, alongside Jordin Sparks and Whitney Houston, was forced to hide out on her roof when an intruder broke into her home.

The 29-year-old intruder, later identified as Christian Hicks, a mentally unwell man, also appeared on the roof behind where the actress was hiding.

Thankfully, police arrived before the man could get any closer to Melora. She was then helped down off the roof while Christian was led away in handcuffs. 

Melora later said that more needs to be done to stop this from happening again: “I think it’s very obvious for most of us who live around here, when someone seems to be suffering from a mental illness and to continue to let these people walk around without offering them assistance, to protect them and us. That, I think, is the heart of the problem.”

What a scary thing to happen – hopefully it won’t take Melora too long to feel comfortable in her own home again.

Just months after filing for divorce from husband Nick Cokas, actress and singer Katherine McPhee’s romantic life is hotting up after she was spotted kissing her new TV co-star.

Katherine’s new love interest is none other than British actor Elyes Gabel, who is starring with Katherine on the upcoming series Scorpion.

Elyes has previous starred in World War Z, Game of Thrones and Casualty, playing Gurpreet "Guppy" Sandhu.

The couple were snapped smooching on set, and since then have been seen all over LA together.

Hopefully it won’t make for an awkward workplace!

She might be more at home onstage in skintight dresses, but Britney Spears was the picture of elegance at an appearance in Germany yesterday.

The star was there for the European launch of her new lingerie range, The Intimate Collection.

Sporting a sleek short bob, Britney was almost unrecognisable, looking every bit the hard-hitting businesswoman. 

A beautiful crisp white suit and lace top set off her new hairdo.

The recently single Brit appeared to be in great form yesterday – we bet her cheating ex David Lucado was kicking himself!

Perfect sophistication!

The singer will no doubt be putting the hair extensions back in soon though, as her Piece of Me concert residency in Las Vegas starts up again in early October. As for the lingerie collection, at first glance there are some lovely pieces that would be great for larger-breasted women…

And of course the obligatory sexy suspenders!

Hmm… not sure about those, but otherwise a job well done, Brit!

The new Michelin Guide has been launched, and we have the results for Irish restaurants.

While no new contenders made the cut, all nine of last year’s picks kept their coveted Michelin star.

Now you will be able to wow your date and maybe not completely bankrupt yourself in the process with our helpful price guide listing the nine restaurants from expensive to 'Oh my god, what happened to my money?'

Dublin

The prices listed on this restaurant’s menu are nothing short of laughable. A two course meal will set you back €90. Each. And that’s the cheapest option. Maybe save this one for the lotto win.

Thornton’s at the Fitzwilliam Hotel

Pretty expensive, but doable for a very special meal. A three course dinner here is €70, but you can get lunch or a pre-theatre menu for €35 and €50 respectively if you spend a bit less.

Chapter One

Chapter One is what we call fancy-normal. It’s extremely nice, and certainly costs more than your average meal out, but you won’t feel like you are ruining the place with your unworthy presence.

While the standard three course meal comes in at a painful €85 each, they do have early bird menus and special offers on their website. If you eat at 6pm, a three course meal will only set you back €29.95 – a bargain for a Michelin star!

Both the a la carte and set menus are fairly reasonable here. It’s around €10-€13 for a starter and €30 for a main course. Again the early-bird is the best way to cut costs, where you pay €27 for two courses and €32 for three courses.

Let’s just say that this place has lobster as a starter.

Terrifyingly fancy. You won’t be sure whether they eat the food or put it in a gallery. It’s €70 for three courses of their food art.

Unusual menu, it just lists ingredients rather than how they might be presented. One of the ingredients is ‘duck heart’. Yummy.

Starters are €12.50 and main courses are €32.50, or you can go the whole shebang and get a tasting menu with wine and cheese for €112.50.

Lena Dunham has amazing body confidence, as any fan of HBO’s Girls will know, but she wasn’t always so comfortable in her own skin.

In her autobiographical book Not That Kind of Girl, the actress reveals that she battled severe anxiety issues as a child – which still affect her today. “I really love my life, but I've kind of worn anxiety grooves into my brain,” she wrote. “It just doesn't always sound good in there." 

Despite her relaxed attitude to nudity on Girls, Lena admits she went through a period of being seriously unhappy with her body. “When I got out of college I thought, 'What am I gonna do? No one's gonna hire me, I'm a fat girl,'” she said.

The star also confesses that during the first season of the show, she took her dieting to extremes, keeping a detailed food journal and greatly restricting her eating. As a result, she ended up being hospitalised with “crazy stomach pains.”

Describing the incident, Lena said, “It was basically revealed that I'd been just drinking laxative tea and coffee and smoking cigarettes and then eating weird foods at weird hours. I really messed myself up.”

Since meeting her “incredibly supportive” boyfriend, Fun guitarist Jack Antonoff, Lena says her body hang-ups have eased.

“I really feel good with my size now," she said. "It used to be when I went into a room with all thin women I felt like, what's wrong with me? Now I just feel special." 

Now, that's an attitude we can get on board with!

It’s been a tough few months for Kendra Wilkinson.

Now though, the star has finally broken her silence on her husband Hank Baskett’s scandalous affair.

It was widely reported that Hank had a fling with transsexual model Ava Sabrina back in April, during Kendra’s pregnancy with her second child Alijah.

Although Kendra is believed to have taken Hank back, she spoke out about her hurt and anger in an interview this week with Giuliana Rancic, saying she “doesn’t know what to believe.”

The star said she laughed off the rumours at first. “I get a call one night, from my agent, and he said to me, ‘Hey Kendra, you know there's a rumour going around, about you and Hank’” she said in the interview.

“I just laughed about it,” she added, saying that Hank immediately denied anything had happened.

Although Kendra found no evidence of an affair, she did begin appearing in public without her wedding ring – as she had flushed it down the toilet. It’s believed Kendra flushed the rings after she heard that photos of Hank’s car outside Ava Sabrina’s house were doing the rounds.

Describing the incident, Kendra said, “I take my wedding rings off, right in front of him. I drop them in the toilet, he's flipping out… I'm yelling at him, saying, ‘Get out of my house!’”

Hank left the family home, taking the couple’s four-year-old son Hank Jr. with him at Kendra’s request. “I allowed him to come back and get Little Hank, because we knew there was going to be this s**t storm,” she said.

“But what was so hard about it was that I felt I just gave my son away to the man who'd cheated on his family." 

Rumours of a divorce have been put to rest for now, but the Girls of the Playboy Mansion star says she is “seriously mad” and that she has already come “very close” to divorcing Hank.

1. Ensure your ears are in line with your shoulders
By checking up on this a couple of time throughout the day you can make sure your posture is on your mind and keep those shoulders straight.

2. Don’t cross your legs
You’re doing it right now aren’t you? Don’t lie… By uncrossing your legs you ensure your back is straight and you’re not leaning to one side.

3. Pilates
Regular Pilates can really work wonders for your posture. By discovering your core you’ll soon find yourself feeling and looking taller. You don’t have to fork out money for classes either, just purchase a mat and use great YouTube channels like Blogilates to get you started.

4. Step away from the desk
Nobody wants to be the girl who does desk exercises – we get it. So why not try this: go out to the hall or even to the bathroom and just drop your head to your feet as low as you can go and slowly come back up giving your back a good long stretch as you do. You’ll be amazed how good you after and no one has to see you!

The spark has gone out!

It's all over for singers Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks. The couple, who have been together for almost three years, had a mutual break-up and will remain friends.

In an interview yesterday, Jason confirmed the rumours, saying the couple had indeed split but that everything was "cool," adding that it was not a "bad situation".

One of the main reasons behind the split was that the couple weren't seeing enough of each other due to hectic work schedules, said a friend.

Fans will surely find the news difficult to take in, as Jordin and Justin always seemed so totally loved-up. They were very openly affectionate to one another, posting cozy bed selfies, making red carpet PDAs and chatting non-stop about one another in interviews.

At the VMAs last month, the pair even showed up in matching white outfits, with Jordin revealing in an interview that she would be joining her man on his Talk Dirty tour.

Jordin, 24, and Jason, 25, had openly discussed marriage – in fact Jason's hit song Marry Me was about his wish to one day propose. "It is about Jordin, actually," the singer said in a 2013 interview. "And it's talking about how amazing it will be when I get down on one knee and it will be the greatest moment of my life."

The couple had often discussed marriage, according to Jordin. "It's not a conversation that we're scared about," she said. "You really see the people you love and you go, I don't want to lose you," she said when speaking about an incident in which Jason fractured his neck in January 2012.

The two have remained quiet on social media, though last week Jordin did seem more sombre than usual, posting this tweet:

Rather than stalking Facebook friends or scrolling mindlessly through Twitter on her commute to work, this woman put her time to much better use – she made her own wedding dress.

Reddit user Alkikat spent five months crocheting her very own wedding dress on her bus journey into work. On the sharing site, she writes: “The dress was practically free because I didn't spend much money on it (under $30 for all of the materials including fabric for the lining) and I didn't spend much extra time on it. My commute time couldn't be used for anything else anyway. The dress is also machine washable (I've washed it several times), doesn't wrinkle or need any special care, and I plan on wearing it again with linings of different colours and with the train bustled up in different ways.”

Check out the finished product here – we are actually very impressed. Wonder if it would look that good if we had a go? Hmm…

Porridge is a great, filling morning option, but who has the time in the mornings to make it, let alone to sit down and eat it?

Overnight oats are a really quick fix if you’re looking for a breakfast option to keep you going ‘til lunchtime that you can take along to school or work without mess. And the best part is, once you assemble the ingredients, your fridge does the rest of the work. These oats can be eaten cold if you’re on the go, or they can of course be heated up in the microwave.

The basic idea is one part oats (porridge oats, rolled oats or even basic museli) to one part liquid (your choice of milk or water) in a sealable container. You can add a splash of cream, yoghurt or even orange juice for extra flavour and texture.

Then sweeten the oats with whatever you want – seriously, we mean whatever you want. Honey, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, seeds, dried fruit, berries, nut butters… the list is endless. Anything yummy, basically. Then pop in the fridge and leave overnight!

Here’s one of our favourite easy recipes that uses yoghurt and milk:

Zingy Strawberry and Chia Overnight Oats

Ingredients:

  • 40 – 50g oats
  • 40 – 50ml milk (almond is tastiest here but whatever you prefer)
  • 40ml Greek or vanilla yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • 4 strawberries, thinly sliced.

Method:

  1. Mix all ingredients in a sealable container or jar until combined
  2. Leave in fridge for a minimum of six hours
  3. Add fresh strawberries, nuts, or any toppings you prefer – or just eat as-is!

The parody of True Detective shows the everyday struggles encountered by the women, from reaching evidence to being stuck behind tall people in meetings.

We kind of think this should be a show?! Or at the very least Page and Mara should be the lead detectives in the second series of the HBO hit.
