Singer Jordin Sparks has been relatively quiet about her break-up with Jason Derulo since they cut ties in September, but that doesn't mean she wasn't angry about how things ended.

Jason has spoken openly about the split, saying there had been a lot of "pressure" and "tension," and even admitting that the break-up happened over the phone.

Now though, Jordin has made her own statement with a pretty cutting new song called How Bout Now (Remix), released online yesterday.

The lyrics blast Jason's lack of effort and appreciation for his lady, with lines like, "You suck right now, you thought the little effort that you put in was enough."

Jordin brings up different things she did for her man, dissing him for not caring about her more. "Remember I deleted all my other guys' numbers out my phone for ya?," she sings.

Another verse references a neck injury which Jason received back in 2012. "Remember when you broke your neck and I had to wash your back for ya? You probably don't remember half of the s**t that I did for ya," the song goes.

Jordin's obviously been keeping her anger under wraps, as she appeared calm and happy in interviews following the break-up. "I'm good, actually," she told the Today Show at the end of September. "I read this quote [yesterday], and it said, 'When something unexpected happens in your life, or you think something bad happens, just say 'Plot twist!' and move on."

Or… you just write a fierce song about it and move on! 

Singer Jason Derulo has spoken out about the real reasons behind his split with Jordin Sparks.

At first the star was quick to deny that there was any bad blood between the pair, but now it seems he wasn’t being 100% honest about how things ended!

In an interview yesterday, Jason took some time to address the rumours about why he and Jordin had called it quits. “I'm not one to throw my business out on the street, but I thought it was important because things are getting a little out of hand,” said the 25-year-old.

He added that “there was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons… There were a lot of pressures of marriage. There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that that just weighed on our relationship over time.”

In a statement to ABC news yesterday, Jason also made it clear that “infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part” in the couple’s break-up.

The couple were together for three years from 2011 to 2014, and Jason admitted that the spark had gone out in some ways.

“I think sometimes you can be in a relationship so long, it becomes a part of your life and you feel like you’re obligated. And when you start feeling obligated and you start feeling like it's something you have to do because it’s necessary, like breathing, that’s not a good situation either,” he said.

We wonder what Jordin has to say about all of this! So far the star has been keeping quiet, though she did post this heart-breaking message to Twitter a few days ago…

The spark has gone out!

It's all over for singers Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks. The couple, who have been together for almost three years, had a mutual break-up and will remain friends.

In an interview yesterday, Jason confirmed the rumours, saying the couple had indeed split but that everything was "cool," adding that it was not a "bad situation".

One of the main reasons behind the split was that the couple weren't seeing enough of each other due to hectic work schedules, said a friend.

Fans will surely find the news difficult to take in, as Jordin and Justin always seemed so totally loved-up. They were very openly affectionate to one another, posting cozy bed selfies, making red carpet PDAs and chatting non-stop about one another in interviews.

At the VMAs last month, the pair even showed up in matching white outfits, with Jordin revealing in an interview that she would be joining her man on his Talk Dirty tour.

Jordin, 24, and Jason, 25, had openly discussed marriage – in fact Jason's hit song Marry Me was about his wish to one day propose. "It is about Jordin, actually," the singer said in a 2013 interview. "And it's talking about how amazing it will be when I get down on one knee and it will be the greatest moment of my life."

The couple had often discussed marriage, according to Jordin. "It's not a conversation that we're scared about," she said. "You really see the people you love and you go, I don't want to lose you," she said when speaking about an incident in which Jason fractured his neck in January 2012.

The two have remained quiet on social media, though last week Jordin did seem more sombre than usual, posting this tweet:
