Stranger Things

In August 2016, Netflix confirmed the return of the hit sci-fi series, Stranger Things, for a second season.

Then, in February this year, fans were treated to the first trailer during the live Super Bowl broadcast.

And now, Netflix have finally confirmed a date for the show return – October 27, 2017.

In a press release, Netlfix provided a description of the new series:

“It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demagorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab.”

“Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.”

Sorry if you had plans on October 27 – looks like you might have to reschedule.

There's been quite a few TV shows over the past few months that have totally blown us away.

One of those TV shows was Stranger Things.

And one of the main reasons the series was so successful was because of this superstar; Millie Bobby Brown.

The 13-year-old played the role of Eleven in the sci-fi drama, and richly deserved the award she took home from the MTV Movie and TV Awards last night.

While accepting her Best Actor in a Show gong, Millie made quite an emotional speech.

"First of all I want to thank everyone that voted and especially MTV…I want to think the cast and crew for being my second family. I love you."

Millie then began to get teary-eyed as she thanked the special people in her life.

"I want to thank my family…you give me light every day. My mom and dad for being so supportive."

She also went onto support the creators of the show, Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, saying: "They've created a bad-ass, female character that I've got the honour to play. Thank you guys so much. I love you"

Stranger Things season two debuts on October 31 on Netflix, and we can't wait to find out the fate of Eleven.

Stranger Things hit us in 2016 and it's safe to say we absolutely LOVED it.

Even though on the surface it was a sci-fi show about kids in the 80s, underneath, it was so, so much more than that.

Between losing Barb (yep, she's still very much dead), to witnessing Eleven's magic and even the teenage high school love triangle, we were hooked.

David Harbour, who plays Chief Jim Hopper, told Fan2Sea Comic Con that the next season will take place exactly a year later, and the town still don't really have a clue about what happened to the Byers family.

"There's a lot of fallout with who knows what," David said.

And as for a new love triangle? Well, Joyce is now with a new man, which doesn't go down too well with the Chief!

"Sean Astin is Winona's (Joyce's) new boyfriend – much to the chagrin to the chief of police!" David laughed.

Stranger Things 2 will also welcome three new characters named Max, Billy and Roman.

Oh, and yes, Eleven is returning.

She jumped to fame as part of Netflix’s quirky sci-fi drama Stranger Things, but it seems Millie Bobby Brown will not be defined by her character, Eleven.

Having previously rapped Nicki Minaj lyrics and effectively covered Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, the 12-year-old actress has appeared in her first music video.

Teaming up with Birdy and Sigma for their new track Find Me, the young Brit gives an emotive lip-syncing performance while starring as the video’s only featured character.

Millie told Rolling Stone that she was “excited” to be included in the project because she is a long time Birdy fan.

It’s been five years since the last Harry Potter movie hit cinemas, yet somehow the mere mention of the boy wizard still makes fans hyperventilate.

So when that enthusiasm was coupled with the Internet’s love for quirky sci-fi drama Stranger Things, the result was bound to be the best form of viral magic.

A new video has appeared online which imagines a world in which Mike, Dustin and Lucas join forces with Harry, Ron and Hermione, while Eleven and her stash of Eggos face the legendary Professor Snape.

Having been one of the most talked about web series of the year, there’s bound to be more than a few Stranger Things costumes this Halloween.

Already actress Amy Schumer has set high expectations for such attire as she and boyfriend Ben Hanisch have teamed up to channel two of the show’s most beloved characters.

Last night, the 35-year-old New Yorker took to Instagram to share a series of images in which she is dressed as Stranger Things’ Dustin while her boo pulls off his best Eleven.

Equipped with backpacks, bikes and epic captions, it’s safe to say Amy and Ben are #HalloweenGoals.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Even though Barb wasn't a main character in Stranger Things, it's safe to say we all felt for her and what she had to go through.

With bright freckles (which are beautiful btw), plaid shirts and thick-rimmed glasses, she was seen as the outsider of the group, but wait until you see what she looks like in real life.

Shannon Purser who plays Barb is really glam in her normal life and often takes to Instagram to share gorgeous selfies and fab outfit pics.

Even though it looked like she was killed in the first season of the show, it hasn't been confirmed if Barb will be back for season two.

SO much fun working with these two lovely, warm, goofy people. So thankful.

However, rumours started swirling that Shannon might be starring in the Gilmore Girls reboot when she shared a picture of her working alongside Melissa McCarthy.

She captioned the picture: "SO much fun working with these two lovely, warm, goofy people. So thankful."

Will she be Sookie's daughter?! Who knows…

As far as we're concerned here at SHEmazing! HQ, the kids from Stranger Things get more adorable with every passing day.

From Gaten Matarazzo's approach to photos with fans to Millie Bobby Brown's reaction to Aaron Paul's telephone interview, these young stars are a total breath of fresh air.

And just when we thought they couldn't get any sounder, they proved us wrong this weekend by cycling through the audience at the Emmy Awards while distributing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to eager (and hungry) TV stars.

Dressed as the characters which propelled them to international stardom this summer, Gaten, Millie and Caleb provided some of Hollywood's biggest stars with America's favourite sandwich from the baskets of their classic 1980s bicycles.

Give each of those kids a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, damn it.

The entire show may have centred around him, but Will from Stranger Things had a pretty sweet deal when it came to the whole, you know, actually appearing on screen

Indeed, despite the fact we were glued to the Netflix hit all summer, most of us would have trouble picking the young actor out of a line-up, but that hasn't stopped him making serious dollar.

Noah Schnapp, who played the absent Will in the sci-fi show, only appeared fairly briefly in four of the series' eight-episode run and yet those scenes helped the 11-year-old clean up big-time.

According to TMZ, Noah's contract for the show, which was yesterday officially renewed for a second season, states that the actor would collect $10,000 per episode and would be paid for five meaning that Noah walked away with at least $50,000.

Not too shabby.

And now that the show is heading into its second season, young Noah is in for a pretty hefty pay increase, with documents showing he'll be getting double the dollar per episode.

We're in the wrong gig.

If you – like millions others – found yourself enthralled by Stranger Things over the course of the summer, then you'll be pleased to hear the good folk at Netflix have officially announced they will be renewing the break-out hit.

While there have been whispers in the works ever since we laid eyes on Mike, Eleven and the rest of the cast, those in the know have kept us in suspense until today.

According to Variety, season 2 of the 80s sci-fi smash-hit show will consist of 9 episodes – one more than season 1 – and debut in 2017.

Speaking prior to the announcement, creators Matt and Ross Duffer drew attention to the fact that the show's arc allows for break-off storylines, saying: "There’s a bigger mythology, and there’s a lot of dangling threads at the end."

"We could explore it if Netflix wanted to continue," he added.

And thankfully, they do.

When it comes to our barnets, we're a fairly precious bunch.

An inch too short and there's all-out war, but then we never were, and never will be, as chill as Millie Bobby Brown.

The 12-year-old actress, who captured the imagination of millions in her role as Eleven in Stranger Things, made the whole head-shaving process look like a walk in the park.

Taking to Instagram last night, the British-born actress, who has a massive fan in Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, uploaded footage of the moment she ditched her tumbling curls for Eleven's iconic style.

Unlike the rest of us who would mourn each and every strand, Millie happily chatted and smiled throughout the process and reminded us that some people are just inherently chill.

To the tune of Beyoncé's Pretty Hurts, the child star went from Millie to Eleven in the blink of an eye, and Instagram is all over it.

Look, there's no denying that Netflix smash-hit, Stranger Things, came totally out of left field and knocked us all for six this summer.

And if you still find yourself marvelling at the cast, the story's arc or the wonder that was Dustin, you're not alone.

In fact, you're in pretty good company as Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame is right there with you.

Having been given the opportunity by Elle to interview Millie Bobby Brown who plays Eleven in the sci-fi show, Aaron did what any of us would do – he fangirled all over himself.

According to the magazine, Aaron chatted with Millie over the phone earlier this month, and was unable to keep his chill for even one minute.

"First of all, I love you," he told Millie after thanking her for taking the phone call. "I have to start this off by saying that I'm just such a massive fan of yours."

"I mean, really, from one actor to another, I have such incredible respect for you. I really admire your work," he told the British-born actress.

After Millie revealed that she always felt she wanted to do something creative, Aaron responded:  "I'm so happy that you found this passion inside of you. A group of friends and I have a group chat in which we only discuss Stranger Things and how cool Eleven is."

Sounding genuinely awestruck, Aaron told Millie that her name constantly pops up in discussion in his home.

"I gotta tell you: My wife and I are constantly talking about you," he revealed. "We're constantly saying, 'Her parents must be so proud!' To be honest, we wish that you were our child."

And instead of pretending that the line was suddenly super dodgy before abruptly hanging up, Millie simply laughed, replying: "I wish you were my parents!"

Now, that girl has chill.
