sex and the city 3

Latch on to your Manolo Blahnik's, it looks like Carrie Bradshaw is set for a mysterious, and no doubt glamorous, return to our lives.

Sarah Jessica Parker uploaded a video to her Instagram account in Full Carrie Character over the weekend, strutting down New York City's streets like she owns the place.

The brief clip was set to the music of Sex and the City, and featured SJP in a vintage-Madonna-esque outfit; gloves, a mermaid-like tulle skirt, a purple beaded clutch and a pair of white lace heels.

SJP confirmed in the video's caption that her beloved character is back in our lives for a vital reason;

"My old friend. She is making a brief reappearance. Partnering with a great brand and supporting a cause we all care about. More to come. X, SJ," Parker wrote.

Sadly, this isn't a promotional video for a third Sex and the City flick; it's been confirmed multiple times that the movie isn't going ahead.

Rumours of a three-quel were being whispered about for years, but those hopes have been dashed,

We're going to assume it's just an upcoming brand partnership with a social responsibility/activism angle, which will feature SJP in Carrie character.

At this stage, we'll take what we can get after the feud between Kim Cattrall and her three co-stars…

Who wouldn't have wanted a Sex And The City 3?

Well, maybe not you after you hear this.

It has been revealed that the beloved Mr Big wasn't going to make the cut…literally.

Details have emerged that show Chris Noth's character was going to be killed off – and in a sad way.

Journalist James Andrew Miller spoke with stars and writers of the films on his Origins podcast, where it was revealed that Mr. Big would die “relatively early” in the film, of a sudden “heart attack in the shower.”

Oh, no.

Andrew said, "They point to the fact that it calls for Mr. Big to die of a heart attack in the shower relatively early on in the film, making the remainder of the movie more about how Carrie recovers from Big's death than about the relationship between the four women."

Chris Noth has not read the script, but he did tell Miller that he "heard it was really a superior script, probably having learned the mistakes, from not the first two, but at least the second one."

(Noth called the first two SATC movies "corny" and "sentimental as hell.")

It was also part of the reason that Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha, said no to the movie.

Apparently, the plot revolved around Big's death and how Carrie would cope, and Andrew said, “People close to Kim believe the script for the movie didn't have a lot to offer the character of Samantha.''

Are we glad that Carrie's on-again off-again love interest is still alive and kicking?

Abso-fucking-lutely.

For as long as Sex and the City has been on air (and for the 13 years that has followed its small-screen conclusion), Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker have been plagued with rumours regarding their relationship.

And ever since the first rumour began circulating back in 1998, the two ladies have been at pains to stress the inaccuracy of reports which suggested there existed ill will between the pair.

However, it looks like it's finally all come to a head this week, following KIm Cattrall's appearance on Piers Morgan Life Stories.

While the 61-year-old actress has always taken a diplomatic stance on her history with her co-star, it appears that recent press regarding Sex and the City 3 has forced Kim into a position where she felt compelled to speak out against SJP.

According to recent reports. Kim was the reason for the cancellation of the third SATC film  – an accusation she takes very personally.

"Reflecting on the accusations, Kim told Piers: "It’s quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I’ve been saying for almost a year of ‘no’ that I’m demanding or a diva."

"I never asked for any money, I never asked for any projects, to be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous."

And she doesn't stop there.

Focussing her attention on Sarah Jessica, Kim suggested that her former co-star could have reacted more positively towards her decision not to take part.

"And this is really where I take to task the people from Sex And The City and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer," Kim revealed. "I really think she could have been nicer."

Shining a light on a relationship the press have, for years, attempted to dissect, Kim revealed that it's far from functional.

"Usually what happens in a healthy relationship is that someone, or a transaction for a job in my business, is that someone says, ‘Are you available?’ and you say ‘Yes’ and here’s the job and you say ‘Yes, but thank you very much but I’m sort of over here right now but thank you very much,’ and that person turns to you, and they say ‘That’s great, good luck to you, I wish you the best.’"

"That’s not what happened here, this is, it feels like a toxic relationship," she opined.

We can only imagine SJP's reaction to Kim's interview.

It's been six whole years since our last dose of Sex and the City goodness, so you can imagine our excitement upon hearing that actress Kim Cattrall (aka Ms Samantha Jones) really wants Sex and the City 3 to happen.

In an interview with the Express – which was published yesterday – Kim revealed that all involved would love for a third SATC movie to become a reality.

The 59-year-old star said: "Of course there should be a third film! I think we would all love it. I mean, what would the story be?"

And when asked if she feared the film would flop, Kim gave the perfect SATC-inspired response:  "To quote Samantha Jones ''If I worried about what every b***h said about me I wouldn't leave the house!'"

Kim – who is currently in Edinburgh at the city's Film Festival – then explained why she thinks there's more to her alter-ego Samantha than meets the eye.

She said: "When she is showing off and doing her business and amusing and entertaining everyone, underneath it is fear that she'll be alone and you start to understand that part of when you do that."

According to Kim, it's the relatable nature of the programme's characters which made the show such a success: "That's the relation and I think that the beauty of the show is that those four characters really, I feel, represented one complete woman. Different sides, different moods, different parts of being feminine."

"You can have those moments of any one of those characters and understand them in a more complete way."

Since the last hint of Sex and the City 3 fell through, we're going to wait with everything crossed in the hope that this dream will become a reality.

Sarah Jessica Parker is on the cover of this month’s Cosmopolitan magazine.

In the glossy, the actress, 50, dishes on how she deals with her fans, and some not so adoring public, when using social media.

Back in May, the star sent rumours, and fans, into overdrive when she posted a photo on Instagram that looked like she was back in character as Carrie Bradshaw. The caption had people online losing their minds.

For any fan of the series that seemed a pretty definite clue that another film could have been in the works. It was actually SJP teasing the launch of her new show line in Bloomingdales.

She got a lot of backlash from the fans, apparently.

She told the magazine “people were in a rage at me, I was shocked. They were convinced I had been taunting them. I'm not that clever!”

Despite the fact that time has passed, since both the picture was posted, and the last SATC film sequel was produced, SJP still gets some heat.

“I'm still finding people and being like, 'No @BoobityBopBeep! Why would I hurt you?' I've never been a mean girl."

After the second film received some less than enthusiastic reviews, it seems quite doubtful that there would be a third film in the future. But the star’s online activity has kept fans hopes alive.

Sarah says she wouldn’t tease without knowing for certain: “to what end would I relish dangling this idea and then saying there's no movie?”

Her red carpet looks are also popular on social media. When asked if she had seen any of the Met Gala memes surrounded her style, it turns out her son was the one to spot the image.

"The one thing that I saw, which was so amazing — my son showed it to me — was my headpiece cooking Rihanna like an egg.”

She also spoke to the magazine about what she believes are the most pressing political issues and identifying as more of a humanist than a feminist. She says that she thinks the world would be more powerful if it were “a humanist movement.”

Eeeeek!

Sex and the City fans, you might be able to start getting excited very soon as we think Sarah Jessica Parker has just hinted at a third movie.

The actress sent fans everywhere into a frenzy as she posted a VERY Carrie Bradshaw looking picture to Instagram last night.

Carrying a Bloomingdale's bag in a very flattering dress, heels and sunglasses, she captioned the photo: "Well. I guess the cat's out of the (little brown) bag. As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able. I'm under strict gag order until then. Xx, Sj."

We doubt she would be so mean that she could tease us like this on purpose.

The last movie was released in 2010 and we have been waiting for another ever since.

Fingers crossed.

Sex and the City fans everywhere got some good news last week, after Jennifer Hudson sneakily revealed that a Sex and the City 3 film might be in the pipeline.

Jennifer, who played Carrie's assistant in the first movie, admitted in an interview that the possibility of a third instalment had been discussed.

We were reluctant to believe the news until we heard it from a more reliable source though – and who's more reliable than Carrie Bradshaw herself?

Yep, Sarah Jessica Parker seems to be getting excited about a sequel too, if her Twitter exchange with fellow SATC star Kristin Davis is anything to go by.

Things kicked off when Kristin tweeted Sarah Jessica to say she missed her, to which the star replied:

Kristin wasn't giving anything away – but it all sounded very positive:

Much as we'd love to see the girls back on our screens though, we hope that the third film won't be quite as ridiculous as SATC 2…

Let's keep it to New York this time, okay?!

Sarah Jessica Parker was asked about Sex and the City 3 while on Ellen and she delivered some devastating news for anyone already making date plans for its cinema release.

“I’ve tried to make up some interesting answers every time I’ve been asked this question lately and the truth of the matter is there has been no real conversation about a third movie at all.”

This doesn’t sound good for SATC fans – if a movie was in the works, Sarah Jessica Parker would definitely know.

Is she trying to throw us off the scent or will there really be no third movie?

Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
