Award season is upon us and we are so ready to spend the next few weeks swooning over gorgeous gowns as Hollywood’s elite walk the red carpet.

Last night, the 76th Golden Globes took place and we felt like giving the best dressed award to every nominee.

However, there were quite a few dresses that won a special place in our hearts. Saoirse Ronan oozed class in a custom Celine gown with a thigh high slit and open back.

Bel Powley, Zoey Deutch and Taylor Swift dazzled in eye-catching and bold numbers. However, it was Booksmart and Lady Bird star Beanie Feldstein who won the red carpet in our eyes.

The actress looked breathtaking in a glittering Oscar de la Renta gown. This was Beanie’s first time attending the Golden Globes and she certainly pulled out all the stops for the momentous occasion. The detail on her dress is nothing but breathtaking. The off the shoulder look is simply flawless. And the matching hairband? Perfection.

Speaking about the nomination, Taylor gushed: “I woke up today to the news that Beautiful Ghosts is nominated for a Golden Globe – it’s so cool that one of the most fun, fulfilling creative experiences I’ve ever had is being honored in this way by the HFPA.”

“I ended up spending many days on set watching the other performers do their scenes. Watching the character Victoria, played by @frankiegoestohayward inspired me so much and Beautiful Ghosts was the result,” she shared.

“This is just purrfect,” she quipped.

Saoirse Ronan is our red carpet queen. The Little Women actress always manages to stand out in a unique and classy way when it comes to her style.

She wowed us at the 2018 Oscars in a beautiful pastel pink Calvin Klein by Appointment dress and left us speechless when she arrived at this year’s Met Gala in that sequin Gucci gown.

The Brooklyn actress debuted one of her best looks at last night’s Paris premiere of Little Women.

Saoirse was joined by her Little Women co-stars Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet, Louis Garrel and director Greta Gerwig at the premiere.

The Morning Show star received the People’s Icon Award at the awards on Sunday.

Jennifer fought back the tears as her friend and co-star Adam Sandler delivered an emotional speech about her legendary work.

As Jennifer took to the stage, she couldn’t help but gush about the actor.

“Adam! When did you get so mushy?! Oh my God, I love this man with all my heart. This is one of the kindest human beings you'll ever meet."

The actress delivered a witty and emotional speech that left the crowd in stitches, “As actors, we don't do this for the critics of for each other or to make our families proud, we do this for the money. No! I'm kidding! We do it for you guys, seriously, we really do. None of us could do what we do if it was not without all of you."

'Friends' was truly, it was the gift of a lifetime and I would not be standing up here without that amazing show, without those amazing five other actors and with an audience who stuck with us for a decade," Aniston added.

Selena Gomez is officially the best big sister. The Lose You To Love Me singer took her little sister to the premiere of Frozen 2 last night and even wore matching outfits for the special event.

Selena and her little sister Gracie looked as cute as ever as they walked down the red carpet in Frozen inspired ensembles.

The sisters looked like they walked straight out of the magical Arndale in their Marc Jacobs outfits.

Speaking about their sister outing, Selena wrote, “Hope I’m officially the best big sissy ever now.. she was LIVING her best life!! Frozen 2 was amazing!!!”

Frozen 2 is set for release on November 22, 2019.

The second installment of the Disney movie takes us back to the time of Ana and Elsa’s past but all isn’t as magical as we hoped. We are transported to an enchanted forest, but something has gone wrong and now nobody can get in or out of it.

The new trailer for Frozen 2 is here and it is chilling

It is up to Elsa to save the Kingdom of Arendelle, but luckily she has her dear sister Ana by her side, as well as Olaf and Sven.

The cast of Frozen 2 is as stellar as it’s predecessor with top names including, Idina Menzel (Elsa), Kristen Bell (Ana), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Josh Gad (Olaf) returning.

We may be a little bit too excited about Frozen 2.

Last night's Brit awards saw performances from music mega-stars such as Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry.

While the stage spotlight was on a select few, there were plenty of stars to choose from on the red carpet.

The style stakes were high, and some of our favourite celebrities completely nailed the high-glamour Brit Awards look.

Little Mix

A post shared by @jesynelson on

The Little Mix girls went out of their way to nail a major S/S trend each on the red carpet last night, as the group scooped the prize for Best British Single for Shout Out To My Ex.

Jesy rocked PVC and leather, Jade nailed the 90s slip trend, Leigh-Anne opted for daring, noughties ripped denim, and Perrie went for high-low feathers and the most elegant of side braids.

Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding looked absolutely amazing on the red carpet last night.

The singer opted for a slim fitting dress with draped chains across the chest, giving her an edgy and sexy look.

Fearne Cotton

A post shared by Fearne (@fearnecotton) on

Fearne looked uber-cool as usual in her black gown.

Ticking off multiple trends, the dress featured ruffles, an off-the-shoulder neckline and a mesh skirt.

Mollie King

We actually think Mollie has never looked better than she did in this slinky silver mini dress.

The addition of the oversized, colourful faux-fur stole draped dramatically over one shoulder added a fun and flirty edge to the ensemble.

And we will definitely be bringing pictures of that loose bob to our next hairdressing appointment.

Charlotte Crosby

While we're not major fans of the leopard print and black knickers combo, there is no denying that Charlotte looked damn good at last night's awards.

The ultimate champion of the overall look was her adorable faux freckles that she showcased over on her Snapchat on the night.

Holly Willoughby

A post shared by Holly Willoughby (@hollywilloughby) on

Looking sweet and chic as usual, Holly shone in her dazzling mini dress.

Keeping things simple, she also opted for slicked back hair and some barely there heels.

Katy Perry

Before making a political statement with her on-stage performance, the American songstress opted for Versace sequins on the red carpet.

The matching blazer complimented the dress perfectly, as it should, and Katy's elegant top knot didn't distract from her glittering ensemble.

Metallics and spring pastel palettes ruled on last night's Oscars red carpet, and while not everyone got it right, there were a few drop-dead gorgeous looks.

One style winner was Saoirse Ronan, who can rest easy knowing that she made it to the top of many a Best Dressed list today, even if she didn't go home with a Best Actress gong.

The 21-year-old looked breathtaking in a custom-made emerald green Calvin Klein gown, which she said was a nod to her "Irish heritage."

Of course, she wasn't the only one turning heads last night – here's a look at the best and worst of the Academy Awards red carpet.

The Hits

Lady Gaga
Gaga's white ensemble looked like a standard gown from the back, but from the front it was a killer jumpsuit. Love.

Jennifer Lawrence
That sheer neckline tho. J-Law worked it in Dior as always:

Mindy Kaling
Mindy went for understated elegance in a black bodycon number with cobalt blue sleeves and a flowing train.

Pharrel and Helen Lasichanh
Couples' style goals right here:

Margot Robbie
Like Saoirse, Margot went for full-on metallics in a shimmering gold number. While she ran the risk of looking like an Oscars statuette, the risk totally paid off.

Andra Day
The soul singer took things back to a simpler era with a touch of Fifties glamour. If only we could look that perfect in pale yellow…

Sophie Turner
Sophie let her bold red locks do the talking last night, keeping her colour palette neutral in a silver-grey dress and shoes, accessorised with a diamond choker.

The Misses

Kate Winslet
We love you Kate, but that shimmering black fabric is doing nothing for you. Very Debs dress circa 2003…

Alicia Vikander
The puff-ball bottom is retro gone wrong, and the sequin detailing adds nothing. A no from us.- but Alicia took home the Best Supporting Actress trophy so it's not all bad.

Heidi Klum
Heidi rocked up in a what is basically a nightdress, and while we love the pale lavender colour, it's just not an Oscars look.

After weeks of awards ceremonies, from the Golden Globes to the Grammys, the Oscars is one of the final nights for Hollywood's glam pack to show off their red carpet style.

Many stars played it safe last night with gorgeous neutral tones, form fitting gowns and chic cuts. Others (we're looking at you Lady Gaga) went all out for the night, embracing the closing night of the awards season with some seriously crazy designs.

As always, a few key trends showed up again and again with each dress we saw.

Here are some of the best…

1. Whitest and brightest
White and cream dresses were a huge hit last night, with Best Actress winner Julianne Moore dazzling in custom made Chanel, Reese Witherspoon going for a classically cut Tom Ford, and Lupita Nyong'o looking fab as always in Calvin Klein.

2. Beaded beauties
Heavy embellishment and beading were all over last night's red carpet. We're not sure about the colour of Emma Stone's washed out green dress, but we love the cut.  Rosemund Pike stole the show in her scarlet Givenchy number, while Jennifer Aniston looked quite the sex kitten in a plunging Versace gown.

3. Prom Queen
Giant meringue-style dresses made an unexpected comeback last night, but it wasn't always a great choice. Felicity Jones' Alexander McQueen number might have worked were it not for the unflattering silver satin, while the whole world boggled at Lady Gaga's gloves – not to mention her giant Azzedina Alaia dress. As for Jennifer Lopez, she looked undeniably fab in Elie Saab. That neckline!

But even J-Lo fell foul of her too-big dress when she tripped while walking off stage after presenting the award for Best Costume Design:

Awks!

4. Stunning and sheer
Sheer black gowns were all over the red carpet last night, but again this trend was VERY hit or miss. Margot Robbie and Lily Collins kept their looks demure with just small areas of sheer fabric. As for Rita Ora… well… if your ENTIRE ass is on show then you can probably assume your dress is a tad too sheer!

The 21st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place last night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, and the stars were out in force. Although the red carpet looks were all a little safer than at the Golden Globes earlier this month, there were some great choices all the same.

As with any awards show though, not everyone got it right!

Here's our pick of this year's best and worst red carpet looks…

The Best

1. Keira Knightley
After her Golden Globes Victorian-style disaster, Keira Knightley showed that she can still rock maternity style with a stunning vibrant purple number from Erdem. Although the actress joked that her waist has "disappeared" since she became pregnant, we reckon she looks as dainty as ever!

2. Emma Stone
Emma's Dior Haute Couture tuxedo dress may have been a hazard for poor Naomi Watts, but we can't deny that she still looked downright fabulous!

3. Emmy Rossum
This sparkling Giorgio Armani dress was a total win for Emmy… we have some serious red carpet envy right now!

4. Lupita Nyong'o
Although there was a somewhat mixed reaction to Lupita's boldly printed Elie Saab dress, we reckon she rocked it. There's such a lack of prints and patterns on the red carpet so this was a refreshing change.

The worst

1. Kelly Macdonald
There's nothing wrong with this dress in theory, but it would be more suitable for a debs than a red carpet event we reckon! Looks like the Boardwalk Empire actress wasn't too bothered about making a big impression…

2. Amanda Peet
Amanda's J. Mendel dress was just a little bland for the red carpet, and that lavender colour seriously washes out her English Rose complexion.

3. Rashida Jones
Beach holiday dress? Yes. Red carpet dress? No.

4. Rosamund Pike
This dress might be Dior but it made poor Rosamund look seriously frumpy. Did it have to be so… bulky?!
