Amy Schumer

To the vast majority of movie-goers, Trainwreck, starring Amy Schumer and Bill Haderwas a laugh-a-minute, modern-day romcom, but to clamouring journalists it acted as a platform with which to deride the film's female protagonist.

According to Amy Schumer, promoting the 2015 release – which acted as a clear departure from traditional romcoms – was a complete nightmare for the writer and actress.

Laying bare her thoughts on her experience while promoting the movie in Europe and Australia, the 35-year-old star recently wrote: "Maybe it was just a cultural thing that made the foreign journalists seem out of line."

"Some interviewers brought this vibe: Well, you talk about sexual subject matter in your movie, so I can say anything I want to you'," she recalled. "Which made me want to shower for the rest of my life."

When discussing the film's themes, Amy remembers being asked by a reporter in Australia: “So your character is a skank. Do you have a word for skank in America?”

And if that wasn't demeaning enough, Amy was forced to field questions about her own sex life while promoting the movie in Berlin.

When asked what she was like in bed, Amy's co-star Bill leaped to the actress's defence, but was placated by Amy who felt that it was par for the course at this stage.

"Bill didn’t like this question and stood up for me, but I said it was fine and explained that it was like being with one of those performers who stand on boxes on street corners spray-painted entirely in silver,"

"The only difference, I said, is that no one ever gave me a dollar," she added.

We knew those press junkets could get awkward, but seriously?

In a recent candid interview with Marie Claire, actress and comedian, Amy Schumer – in a display of considerably bravery – opened up about life and love, and in the process shared some very unsettling memories of her first sexual experience.

Reflecting on an incident which she had buried away until very recently, the Trainwreck star admitted: "My first sexual experience was not a good one."

"I didn't think about it until I started reading my journal again," she confessed. "When it happened, I wrote about it almost like a throwaway."

Recalling the harrowing event which adds to current narrative surrounding rape culture and victim shaming, she explained: "It was like, And then I looked down and realized he was inside of me. He was saying, 'I'm so sorry' and 'I can't believe I did this.'"

Turning her attention to the present, the popular actress admits that she mightn't be the easiest person to date, but most of it comes down to a lack of self esteem.

"Being in love is the scariest thing in the world," she opined. "You want to f*cking cry and scream. I can't handle it."

"Every time we say good-bye, I think,"This will have been a nice last week together," she admitted. "Or I tell myself nothing is real and he's going to leave me and tell me he never loved me."

"I feel so bad for him. How exhausting it must be dating me," she added.

Amy's full interview will be hitting newsstands on July 19.

She might be one of the biggest stars in the TV and movie industry right now, but that doesn't mean everyone is always a fan of Amy Schumer.

Taking the opportunity to throw a little shade at the Trainwreck star recently, world-famous model, Ashley Graham, suggested Amy was playing it fast and loose with her perspective on plus-size women.

Reflecting on Amy's apparent irritation that she had been grouped alongside Ashley and Melissa McCarthy in a feature for Glamour magazine, Ashley questioned the star's supposed hypocrisy on the matter.

Commenting at the time, Amy said: "Glamour put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me. Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size?"

"I can see both sides, but Amy talks about being a big girl in the industry," Ashley said during a recent interview with Cosmopolitan.

"You thrive on being a big girl, but when you’re grouped in with us, you’re not happy about it? Ashley asked. "That, to me, felt like a double standard."

But if people were hoping Ashley's comments might lead to an online spat between the two women, they were left sorely disappointed.

Responding to Ashley's remarks on Twitter, Amy wrote: "I totally understand Ashley's feelings. I don't group myself in with her because she is unbelievably beautiful. Nothing but respect for her."

Equally gushing, Ashley replied: "I have the greatest respect for @amyschumer! So glad to be able to exchange thoughts, ideas & opinions w/ another incredible female force."

"Rock on girl. I'm so grateful for you," Amy replied "You inspire me!"

And that, ladies, is how it's done.

Despite being a talented writer, actress and stand-up, Amy Schumer is forced to fend off hate from appearance-obsessed trolls on a daily basis, but it looks like she's refusing to let it get her down these days.

Having been inexplicably slammed after a candid snap of her in Hawaii surfaced online, Amy decided to hit back and remind the haters that they have no power over her.

In the post which has been liked a whopping 141,000 times since its upload yesterday, the 34-year-old actress began: "I meant to write "good morning trolls!"

"I hope you find some joy in your lives today in a human interaction and not just in writing unkind things to a stranger you've never met who triggers something in you that makes you feel powerless and alone," she continued.

Refusing to take their criticism lying down, the Trainwreck star finished: "This is how I look. I feel happy. I think I look strong and healthy and also like Miss Trunchbull from Matilda. Kisses!" (sic)

Despite the thousands of likes, not everyone has Amy's back, however, and some Instagram users called her out, with one writing: "Amy is pretty chubby, but some men like fat girls…plus she has money and money makes a person a lot more attractive."

"I think the thing people have an issue with is the message Amy sends to little girls when she lashes out at Glamour magazine for featuring her in their "plus-sized" edition…sends the wrong message and tells little girls to be ashamed of their bodies if they aren't stick figures," they continued.

"Also ironic that Amy will make comedic jokes about her weight/figure but get all upset at Glamour for featuring her in the plus-sized edition," they finished.

Hmmm, we doubt Amy will let that backlash go…

She may be in a happy relationship with Ben Hanisch, but that doesn't mean Amy Schumer doesn't want in on some saucy TInder action if she can get it.

In a move which was filmed by Vanity Fair, the Trainwreck star took control of assistant editor, Andrea's phone and got to work on her Tinder snarkiness.

Sounding like most of us on a Wednesday night spent swiping with our mates, the 34-year-old actress slammed the name, age and hobbies of almost every one of Andrea's potential love interests. (Because that's just what we do, right?)

Looking freakishly like we do when our mothers get their hands on our phone and actually manage to UNLOCK them, Andrea fidgeted and laughed nervously as Amy basically played God with her future husband.

And then Andrea got a match….

Ooh, Amy Schumer isn't a happy bunny.

The comedienne has called out Glamour Magazine for including her in a lost of 'plus size' celebs.

In the special 'Chic At Any Size' edition, the 34-year-old has said that the message the mag is sending out will be picked up wrong by teenagers and young girls.

A video posted by @amyschumer on

She took to Instagram to voice her concerns on Tuesday: "I think there's nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America.

"I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me.

"Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous."

A while later she added: "Just a little odd an unfair not to be told."

Do you agree with Amy? We think it's bad that she wasn't even told about it!

She bounced onto the mainstream early last year and has been in the limelight ever since – but Amy Schumer has revealed that she doesn't think her fame is going to last much longer.

While on USA Today, the comedienne opened up about being a major celebrity in the past 12 months.

"Do you guys know that I'm really famous now?" she began.

"I think it's going to last another six months. I didn't know what being famous would be like. You can imagine, and then it actually really blows."

Even though Amy doesn't think her fame will last another much longer, she already has a fifth season of Inside Amy Schumer lined up for 2017, so we doubt she's going to be going back to normal life anytime soon.

Since Amy Schumer began dating furniture designer Ben Hanisch, they have been giving us ALL of the #RelationshipGoals.

But on a recent holiday, Ben shared a few snaps of the pair on Instagram and it looks totally dreamy – which is making us all super jealous.

And while they don't reveal where their super romantic vacay was – they certainly showed us they had a good time.

Ben shared snaps of Amy chilling on a surfboard, as well as Amy showing us really cute snaps of them hugging on a boat.

We know these guys aren't together long, but we really hope they're in it for the long haul – because it doesn't seem to get much better than that.

Now, any available furniture designers out there?

Khloé Kardashian, Christian Bale and Taylor Swift – they're just some of the people Amy Schumer has been poking fun at of late, but one jibe in particular didn't go down too well.

The comedienne and actress has forged her career on taking the idea of female beauty and femininity and turning it on its head, and she attempted to do just that with a recent Instagram post directed at Taylor. Now though, she's been forced to apologise for it.

Amy's brand of humour didn't go down too well with the legions of Swift fans who accused her of "skinny shaming" the singer with a photo captioned, "Taylor that's not a thigh gap. This is a thigh gap," posted on Monday night.

The photo, which shows Amy and fellow comedy star Bridget Everett in their bikinis, seems to have been a dig at Taylor's Grammy ensemble, a two-piece dress with a thigh-high slit.

Taking to Instagram again today, Amy made an attempt at an apology, though she certainly didn't seem too happy to be doing it.

"That's not a beard this is a beard," she wrote alongside a snap of herself with a blonde wig and a face full of fake stubble.

"So sorry to anyone with a beard this may offend. I am a comic and should never make fun of myself at the expense of anyone else that I wasn't making fun of in the first place #relax #beard."

She referenced the drama again later on, posting a meme showing the famous Simpsons "That's not a knife, this is a knife," quote with the caption, "So sorry to anyone with a different size knife too."

As for Taylor, she's been dealing with drama from several different sources this week – in her Grammys Album Of The Year acceptance speech she made a thinly veiled dig at Kanye West for his claim that he "made that b*tch [Taylor] famous."

Speaking to the audience on Monday night, Taylor said, "There are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame… you'll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there."

Let's just say it. Amy Schumer's boyfriend seems to be the most loving boyfriend in the WORLD. Sorry lads.

Not only does he post pictures of her all the time, he also posts messages to say how proud he is of the comedian.

But now, the furniture-maker took to Instagram to say goodbye (temporarily) to his lady love.

"Nothing I hate more than saying bye to this human," he captioned a photo of the couple at the beach.

Late last month he also shared a black and white photo of Amy with the caption, "When you find her, risk everything."

AWWWWW. We just can't deal.

Amy Schumer has been accused of stealing jokes made by other female comedians.

The Trainwreck star was blasted on Twitter by Wendy Liebman, Kathleen Madigan and Tammy Pescatelli, who said she robbed them of their lines and used them in her popular TV shows and movie.

The tweets have since been deleted, but not before Refinery 29 caught sight of them.

The women didn't hold back in their tweets, saying, "What has always been amazing to me is that she purports to be a feminist and yet only steals from other female comedians."

Tammy also said that Amy was the opening act for one of her shows, and this is where she got a few of her jokes from.

But, after seeing what a stir the tweets were causing online, Tammy and the other girls deleted their previous tweets and Wendy said, "I never said Amy Schumer stole my joke. I just said it was the same. It's possible we both wrote it. I just wanted you to know I wrote it first."

Ouch ladies, there's some serious beef there.
