Amy Schumer: ‘My first sexual experience was not a good one’

In a recent candid interview with Marie Claire, actress and comedian, Amy Schumer – in a display of considerably bravery – opened up about life and love, and in the process shared some very unsettling memories of her first sexual experience.

Reflecting on an incident which she had buried away until very recently, the Trainwreck star admitted: "My first sexual experience was not a good one."

"I didn't think about it until I started reading my journal again," she confessed. "When it happened, I wrote about it almost like a throwaway."

Recalling the harrowing event which adds to current narrative surrounding rape culture and victim shaming, she explained: "It was like, And then I looked down and realized he was inside of me. He was saying, 'I'm so sorry' and 'I can't believe I did this.'"

Turning her attention to the present, the popular actress admits that she mightn't be the easiest person to date, but most of it comes down to a lack of self esteem.

"Being in love is the scariest thing in the world," she opined. "You want to f*cking cry and scream. I can't handle it."

"Every time we say good-bye, I think,"This will have been a nice last week together," she admitted. "Or I tell myself nothing is real and he's going to leave me and tell me he never loved me."

"I feel so bad for him. How exhausting it must be dating me," she added.

Amy's full interview will be hitting newsstands on July 19.
