George Cooney appeared on the American talk show hosted by Stephen Colbert, the Late Show and things got very personal indeed.

Stephen pressed the actor for some details on his marriage to human rights lawyer Amal. George joked that the pair have defied the odds when he noted: “they said it wouldn’t last.”

Stephen went on to ask George how it felt to be the “arm candy” in the relationship. George acknowledged that he now spends most of his time being “shiny and pretty.”

Stephen joked that Amal must now have to warn George of what exactly is going to happen when their heading out these days.

“She must say like, ‘We’re going to meet extremely intelligent people tonight- these are not show folk. Just be shiny and pretty.”

The 54-year old put up with further jokes about the age difference between he and Amal when Stephen went on to congratulate him about his upcoming anniversary. He did also make the point of mentioning that he was left off the guest list on the big day.

He did still manages to get the pair a special present. Packaged in a very lovely looking Tiffany’s box, George was treated to a paper weight. Not just any paper weight though, this one is personalised, kind of.

The gift actually reads: “I don’t know you.”

George did take the time to talk about his new film Decision Strike, in which he plays a “no-nonsense” secretary general of the UN.

Speaking about the film he made sure to point out the amount of hard work he put into the project:

"Sex sells Stephen," he told the host, adding, "I did my own sex. I did all of my own stunts."

Speaking to US Weekly an insider revealed that “They decided that it would be the right time.”

The source explained how “Amal isn’t taking on extra work at the moment and just continuing with the cases she has.”

It has also been reported that Hollywood’s handsomest man and his leading lawyer lady are already planning on building a nursery inside their 17th century mansion.

“They hope to have all the work done [on the mansion] by Christmas.”

The insider further revealed that “George is ready for this step and he thinks that Amal will be a great mother.”

We are already SO excited to see a tiny clan of Clooney’s running around the place. We are currently envisioning their spectacular playdates with the Jolie-Pitts!

On its way to Dingle via Kinsale and Balitmore, one rather spectacular yacht supposedly named Air has been spotted leaving Cork Harbour.

At 80metres in length and boasting four storeys as well as a helipad, it costs a cool €750,000 to stay on each week, according to local radio station, Red FM.

And – most excitingly of all – George Clooney is widely rumoured to be on board.

George, who's family emigrated from Co. Kilkenny after The Famine, was also spotted in the area back in 2012 when he stayed in Cobh for a short springtime break.

Earlier this year, he hinted that a trip to his ancestral home was in the offing.

He told the Irish Independent in January he was “embarrassed” that, despite his roots, he’d never had the chance to visit Ireland properly.

“I’ve been talking about going there for years,” he added. “And Bono has been trying to get me to do a bike ride around Ireland with him.

“I’m definitely going to make a visit this summer.”

Just last week, the 54-year-old took Amal, his wife of eight-months, home to his native Kentucky.

Mr and Mrs Clooney were back for a family reunion — and their presence understandably sent locals into an excited frenzy.

A month ago, it was furthermore revealed that human rights lawyer Amal would be in Belfast during June to meet some of the 14 men who claim they were tortured by the British Army in Northern Ireland in the 1970s.

She was brought on to the case by Belfast-based solicitors Kevin R Winters and Co.

George and Amal married in a glitzy €10m celebration in Venice last September. They had been dating for year prior to their nuptials, and were engaged in April 2014.

As she continues her career as an in-demand human rights lawyer, Amal and George Clooney are en route to Ireland.

The pair married in a glitzy €10m celebration in Venice last September, but Amal certainly shows no signs of reining in her in professional commitments.

And while she is now a stable on the red-carpet circuit, when she arrives in Belfast next month, it will be strictly for business.

Amal will meet some of the 14 men who claim they were tortured by the British Army in Northern Ireland in the 1970s.

She has already worked on some prominent legal cases, notably with clients including WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, the Greek government, the former Ukrainian prime minister, and the former president of the Maldives.

Mrs Clooney was brought on to the case by Belfast-based solicitors Kevin R Winters and Co, a firm which specialises in human rights.

Hollywood heart-throb George has often spoken of his own links to Ireland: his great, great grandfather, Nicholas Clooney, was from Kilkenny.

He told the Irish Independent earlier this year that he was “embarrassed” that, despite his roots, he’d never had the chance to visit Ireland properly. “I’ve been talking about going there for years,” he added. “And Bono has been trying to get me to do a bike ride around Ireland with him.

“I’m definitely going to make a visit this summer. Amal has been several times, so she can show me around.”

Amal Alamuddin and her new husband, George Clooney, have made their first appearance as a married couple today.

The highly acclaimed lawyer looked absolutely incredible in a Giambattista Valli dress which we have completely fallen head over heels for while her new husband looked dapper in a grey suit.

The couple are no doubt still on a high after their wedding in Venice yesterday – but it sounds as if none of George’s Hollywood pals made it!

Ben Affleck sent his regards to George, saying that unlike everyone else who seemed to be at the wedding in Venice, he had to work. Meanwhile, there was no sign of George’s longtime friend, Brad Pitt and his new wife, Angelina Jolie.

Matt Damon made it to the wedding, as did other famous faces such as Anna Wintour and Cindy Crawford.

We’re sure the couple are jetting off to somewhere equally as stunning for their honeymoon!

We still can’t stop thinking about that dress – it will be in our dreams tonight.

With George Clooney’s LONG line of past beaus, you can’t blame his new fiancée for wanting to feel special.

And the first picture of the engagement ring the Hollywood actor gave his bride-to-be Amal Alamuddin, shows just how special she is to him.

The stunning seven-carat diamond and platinum engagement ring is estimated to be worth around £450,000, and looks every penny.

While in the past, he may have had more girlfriends than hot dinners, it seems George thinks his British lawyer fiancée is one in a million and yesterday it was revealed just how he set about winning her over.

The actor apparently sent a tongue-in-cheek message to the lawyer after meeting her at a charity event, where she refused to take his number.

He reportedly sent her a jokey email suggesting that the ‘reported hottest man in the world should meet with the hottest human rights lawyer in the world.’

Although she was impressed, Amal apparently she still made the actor wait a few days for a reply.

We like your style Amal!
