Holly Hagan has opened up about her motherhood experience so far.

Holly welcomed the birth of her first child, a baby boy named Alpha-Jax, with her husband Jacob Blyth back in June.

The Geordie Shore star has now been discussing how she’s ‘changed’ as a person since becoming a first-time mum.

The 31-year-old was answering a Q&A on her Instagram Stories to her 4.2M followers when she was asked if she believes motherhood has changed her in any ways that she didn’t expect.

In her answer, Holly explained, “I think I’m just exactly the same except my patience with him is like nothing I could have imagined!”.

“I was so scared I’d get snappy or frustrated easily but I don’t seem to currently. I’m aware I could change when he’s a toddler but I know I’ll make a conscious effort to be calm!”.

A post shared by Jacob Blyth (@blythy9)

Hagan added, “Such a shame it doesn’t translate to everyone else I’m still very impatient with the rest of my life”, followed by a laughing emoji.

Responding to another question about motherhood, Holly opened up about whether she’d have more children in the future.

She revealed, “I would have more tomorrow honestly I’m obsessed I just keep thinking about how we can only have 3 for the practicality of the car but then keep wondering who will sit with the 3rd on the rollercoaster”.

“Then also wondering should we have more children than we have hands but technically we have 4 hands between us so we could have 4 and that works well for 3×3 plane seats”.

Holly candidly admitted, “I swear these are the thoughts that go through my head at night but I’ll be lucky if Jacob even agrees to have more. I am not a fun pregnant lady lol”.

Just last week, Holly celebrated a big milestone for little Alpha-Jax as he laughed for the first time. The reality TV star said she was ‘sobbing’ as her ‘heart melted’ at the sound of her baby boy giggling.

Do you want the right sunglasses for you? Learn more about what lens will be your next best friend.

Deciding on the Right Sunglasses

Sunglasses have progressed from their original purpose of providing eye protection to becoming a significant fashion statement and a shield against the sun’s harsh rays. With so many options, finding the perfect pair has become an art as much as a science.

Among the many alternatives, polarised, mirrored, and gradient sunglasses stand out for their unique qualities, each catering to different needs and preferences. Polarised lenses reduce glare, mirrored lenses blend form and function, and gradient lenses mix fashion and functionality. Investigating the benefits and drawbacks of these options reveals their practical implications and sheds light on how our eyewear selections reflect our lifestyles.

Let us dive into the fascinating world of sunglasses, reviewing the advantages and disadvantages of polarised, mirrored, and gradient sunglasses, which will help us decide which pair to get.

Sunglasses: A Breakdown

Polarised Sunglasses: Enhancing Clarity and Reducing Glare

Whether buying them from a trendy designer sunglasses sale online or a high-end shop, polarised sunglasses will always be popular. Polarised lenses have emerged as a game changer in the world of sunglasses, offering distinct advantages that go beyond aesthetics. These glasses combat a common and aggravating problem: glare. When sunlight reflects off reflective surfaces such as water, roads, or snow, glare occurs, causing discomfort and reduced visibility. Polarised sunglasses come into play because they have a unique filter that filters horizontally oriented light waves, mitigating glare and creating a clearer vision of the surroundings. The primary appeal of polarised sunglasses is their ability to improve visual acuity in bright outdoor conditions.

These glare-reducing lenses can be particularly advantageous to outdoor enthusiasts, drivers, and anyone frequently exposed to reflective surfaces. Polarised sunglasses can increase visual comfort and improve eye health during prolonged outdoor activities by lowering glare-induced eye strain. However, there is a catch to these tremendous benefits. While polarised glasses work well in most outside circumstances, they can reduce the visibility of specific digital screens like LCDs. The filtering features that reduce glare may induce distortion when viewing these screens. Because of the higher technology and materials, polarised lenses are usually more expensive than non-polarised counterparts. However, these sunglasses are essential for anyone looking for unmatched visual clarity and better eye comfort.

Mirrored Sunglasses: Aesthetic Appeal and Added Privacy

In the world of eyewear, mirrored sunglasses are an appealing blend of design and utility. These hues have an unusual appeal due to their outstanding reflecting covering. The mirrored coating adds a striking visual dimension to the lenses while providing a functional purpose. Mirrored sunglasses effectively reduce glare and brightness by reflecting some incoming light, providing unparalleled comfort under the sun’s intense rays. This capability is essential for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as strolls along sun-kissed beaches or challenging climbs along bright mountain roads.

Mirrored sunglasses also have an unexpected advantage: they promote privacy. Outsiders can’t tell where the wearer directs their sight because the lenses are reflective. This additional seclusion can be especially appealing in social situations, as it allows people to maintain an air of mystery or protect their eyes from interested spectators. This quality, however, can be negative because it can occasionally interfere with eye contact and natural interactions. Mirrored sunglasses add to one’s accessory collection, offering reduced glare and a hint of privacy. Prospective buyers should be aware of the fragile nature of the mirrored coating, which demands careful handling to maintain the sunglasses’ aesthetic appeal.

Gradient Sunglasses: Style and Adaptability

Gradient lenses are an innovative alternative that perfectly blends style and flexibility in sunglasses, where fashion and functionality converge. Gradient sunglasses offer more than meets the eye, with a smooth transition from a darker hue at the top of the lens to a lighter shade at the bottom. Gradient sunglasses are appealing because they are visually pleasing. The gradual change in colour adds elegance to the eyewear, making it a favourite accessory among fashion-conscious individuals. Whether you’re strolling through city streets or relaxing by the beach, these sunglasses provide an instant feeling of sophistication.

Gradient lenses also offer more than just visual benefits. The darker upper part effectively conceals the eyes from direct sunshine, decreasing discomfort and squinting. Meanwhile, the lower half allows for clear vision when looking down, which is important for activities like reading or riding. While gradient sunglasses can be helpful in several scenarios, it is important to note that they may not provide the same level of glare reduction as polarised or mirrored options. As a result, rather than direct sunlight or reflecting surfaces, they are more suited for mild glare situations.

In conclusion, as we end our look into polarised, mirrored, and gradient sunglasses, it is evident that the world of eyewear offers many options to satisfy a wide range of tastes and expectations. Each variation has its advantages, ranging from polarised lenses that reduce glare during outdoor adventures to mirrored shades that provide a bit of mystery to your style and gradient sunglasses that seamlessly combine design and practicality. When selecting the ideal sunglasses, consider not only your particular style but also the functionality of the eyewear. There’s a pair for everyone, whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast searching for crystal-clear vision, a trendsetter looking to make a bold statement, or an adaptable person looking for a versatile accessory. So, make sure to take into account all the pros and cons and find the pair that is most suitable for you.

Welcome, dear readers, to a topic that affects countless women around the world – infertility. While many lifestyle blogs focus on the joys of motherhood and family, we believe it’s crucial to shed light on the often overlooked struggles that women face on their journey to conceive. Infertility isn’t just a physical challenge; it encompasses mental and financial hardships as well. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll delve deep into these struggles and provide valuable suggestions on how to overcome them.

Understanding the Physical Challenges

Infertility is, at its core, a physical challenge. It’s defined as the inability to conceive naturally after one year of trying (or six months if you’re over 35). This means that women who find themselves in this situation are grappling with complex physical issues that hinder their ability to become pregnant.

Hormonal Imbalances

One common physical struggle that women face is hormonal imbalances. Hormones play a pivotal role in the reproductive process, and imbalances can disrupt ovulation and the menstrual cycle, making conception difficult.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

PCOS is a condition that affects many women, and it can have a significant impact on fertility. It often leads to irregular periods and the development of small cysts on the ovaries, making it harder to conceive.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a painful condition in which tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus. It can cause severe pain during menstruation and can also lead to fertility issues.

Age-Related Challenges

As women age, their fertility naturally decreases. This is because the quality and quantity of eggs diminish over time. Age-related infertility can be a daunting challenge to overcome.

Tubal Factor Infertility

Issues with the fallopian tubes, such as blockages or scarring, can prevent the egg from meeting the sperm, leading to infertility.

Thyroid Issues

Another reason women might face infertility is due to thyroid issues. The thyroid is the gland under your neck and is responsible for producing hormones and regulating metabolism. When your thyroid is under (hypothyroidism) or over (hyperthyroidism) functioning and goes untreated, it can lead to infertility.

Suggestions for Overcoming Physical Challenges

While it’s important to consult with a medical professional for personalized advice, there are several steps you can take to address physical challenges:

  • Seek regular check-ups with a fertility specialist.
  • Explore fertility treatments like in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intrauterine insemination (IUI).
  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and regular exercise.
  • Consider acupuncture, yoga, or meditation to reduce stress, which can exacerbate physical challenges.

Of course, if you suffer from any of the conditions listed above, such as thyroid disease, talk to your doctor about medication or search for affordable online thyroid medication.

Understanding the Mental Challenges

Infertility can take a severe toll on a woman’s mental well-being. The emotional rollercoaster of hope and disappointment can lead to anxiety, depression, and strained relationships.

Emotional Rollercoaster

The journey to conceive often involves multiple failed attempts, miscarriages, and the constant uncertainty of whether it will ever happen. This emotional rollercoaster can be mentally exhausting.

Stigma and Isolation

Infertility can carry a stigma, and women may feel isolated or judged by those who don’t understand the struggle. This isolation can exacerbate feelings of sadness and frustration.

Anxiety and Depression

The prolonged battle with infertility can lead to anxiety and depression. The constant cycle of hope and disappointment can take a significant toll on mental health.

Relationship Strain

Infertility can strain even the strongest relationships. The pressure and emotional toll can lead to conflicts and misunderstandings between partners.

Suggestions for Overcoming Mental Challenges

Coping with the mental strain of infertility requires a holistic approach to self-care:

  • Seek support from a therapist or counselor who specializes in infertility.
  • Connect with support groups or online communities to share experiences and find understanding.
  • Practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques to manage stress and anxiety.
  • Keep communication open with your partner to strengthen your relationship during this difficult time.

The Financial Hurdle

Infertility treatments can be financially draining, and the financial burden often adds to the already heavy emotional and physical challenges.

The Cost of Fertility Treatments

Fertility treatments such as IVF, IUI, and fertility medications can cost thousands of dollars per cycle. This financial burden can be overwhelming for many couples.

Lack of Insurance Coverage

Unfortunately, not all insurance plans cover fertility treatments, leaving many women to bear the full cost of their infertility journey.

Balancing Financial Goals

The pursuit of parenthood often competes with other financial goals, such as buying a home, saving for retirement, or paying off student loans. This financial juggling act can cause stress and anxiety.

Legal and Ethical Considerations

The legal and ethical aspects of fertility treatments can also pose challenges. Decisions about embryo storage, donor eggs or sperm, and surrogacy come with complex financial and emotional implications.

Suggestions for Overcoming Financial Challenges

Navigating the financial hurdles of infertility requires careful planning and consideration:

  • Research and compare fertility clinics to find more affordable options.
  • Check your insurance coverage and explore any available financial assistance programs.
  • Create a budget that prioritizes your fertility journey while also addressing other financial goals.
  • Consider alternative methods of building a family, such as adoption or surrogacy, which may have different financial implications.

Holistic Approaches to Overcoming Infertility

Overcoming the physical, mental, and financial struggles of infertility often requires a holistic approach that addresses all aspects of your well-being.

Self-Care

Prioritize self-care by incorporating healthy habits into your daily routine. This includes maintaining a balanced diet, engaging in regular exercise, getting enough sleep, and managing stress through relaxation techniques or mindfulness.

Seek Professional Support

Don’t hesitate to consult with fertility specialists who can provide tailored treatment options. Additionally, consider therapy or counseling to help you cope with the emotional challenges.

Lean on Support Networks

Connect with others who are going through similar experiences. Support groups and online communities can offer valuable advice, understanding, and a sense of belonging.

Explore Alternative Paths to Parenthood

Keep an open mind about alternative paths to parenthood, such as adoption or surrogacy. These options may present different challenges but can lead to a fulfilling family life.

Genetic Testing and Family Planning

Genetic testing can provide valuable insights into potential genetic causes of infertility, allowing for more targeted treatment options. Family planning discussions should also include considerations for potential future fertility challenges.

Legal and Ethical Guidance

Seek legal and ethical guidance when making complex decisions regarding fertility treatments, surrogacy, or adoption. A clear understanding of the legal aspects can ease some of the emotional and financial burdens.

In confronting the physical, mental, and financial struggles of infertility, women embark on a challenging journey that demands resilience and perseverance. By understanding these challenges and taking a comprehensive approach to addressing them, women can increase their chances of overcoming infertility and realizing their dream of becoming parents.

Remember, you are not alone on this journey, and there is hope and support available to guide you through the storm. Embrace your strength, seek help when needed, and keep the flame of hope burning bright. Your path to parenthood may be winding, but it can lead to a beautiful destination. Infertility is not the end of your story; it’s just one chapter in the book of your life, and the best may be yet to come.

Millie Court and Liam Reardon are all loved-up again!

The former Love Island champions, who won the show in 2021, confirmed earlier this month that they were back together.

Millie and Liam had stayed together for almost a year after leaving the villa, before calling off their romance in July 2022.

Now, in their first joint interview together since rekindling their relationship, the couple have chosen to open up about the reason why they decided to get back together.

Credit: Millie Court Instagram

Speaking to MailOnline, Liam admitted that their breakup ended up being a positive factor for both of them.

“I think the break we had really helped a lot. I never felt like I never wanted to see her again,” the 24-year-old recalled.

Millie went on to add: “It didn't end sourly, it wasn't that kind of breakup. It was a decision that we needed a break.”

The 26-year-old influencer went on to explain that herself and Liam knew that they would rekindle one day.

“I think we knew it was something we wanted to revisit but it was time that we needed,” she detailed, adding: “We managed to make it work again and now it's better than ever.”

Millie also noted that their respective ages have made a difference to their relationship.

“Liam was 21 when he went on the show and had his birthday in there and he's 24 now and I'm coming up to 27! So we're maybe a bit more mature as well,” she teased.

Millie previously admitted in a YouTube video that the pair had been secretly dating for “five or six months”. In their interview, Liam explained why they chose to keep their rekindling private.

“We went our separate ways last year and that was partly because so many people felt like they were involved in our relationship and stuck their noses in,” he confessed.

“We decided if we're going to make this work, we have to make it work for us and not let other people interfere. Especially in the early stages,” Liam concluded.

Calling all detectives!

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for their upcoming police drama Bodies.

The thrilling show will air on the streaming platform on October 19 and we can’t wait to give it a watch!

The mysterious series is based on the mind-bending graphic novel written by Si Spencer.

Bodies is a ‘police procedural with a huge twist’, where four detectives in four different  timelines, at four different crime scenes, find the body of the same victim.

The fast-paced trailer shows the different detectives in each of their own timelines as they discover the same body.

The clip ends with Elias Mannix, played by Stephen Graham, telling one of the officers, “I'm going to tell you everything. It's going to blow your mind”.

In its synopsis, Netflix stated, “When a body – the same body – is found on Longharvest Lane in London's East End in 1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053, one detective from each period must investigate”.

“As connections are drawn across the decades, the detectives soon discover their investigations are linked, and an enigmatic political leader, Elias Mannix, becomes increasingly central. Did he have a part to play in the murder? Or is something far more sinister at play?”.

“To solve the mystery, our four detectives must somehow collaborate and uncover a conspiracy spanning over 150 years”.

As well as starring Stephen Graham, the cast includes Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Shira Haas, Amaka Okafor, Kyle Soller.

The series was created and written by Paul Tomalin, with Danusia Samal credited as another co-writer.
