An Irish father has tragically lost his life in Australia after trying to save his daughter from drowning.

The man, who was originally from Ireland but who had been living in Australia for some time, was 45 years of age.

It has been reported that he went into the sea at Seven Mile Beach, Lennox Head in New South Wales after realising that his 11-year-old daughter had gotten into difficulty while being on a body board.

The young girl’s father made the decision to swim out to her to try and rescue her, but he subsequently drowned in the process.

The incident occurred at around 6:30pm yesterday. The father had been attending the beach with his wife and three children at the time.

The man’s wife was able to save the couple’s 11-year-old daughter, and immediately alerted the emergency services when they returned to shore.

Two police officers quickly rushed onto the scene and attempted to save the Irish man, but they were tragically unsuccessful.

The father-of-three was eventually brought to shore by surfers around 7pm, where paramedics attempted to revive him. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. The daughter he had tried to rescue was treated by paramedics, and she and her family were later allowed to return home.

Following the devastating accident, Australian police confirmed that the man had been an Irish citizen.

“The family is from Lennox Head; officers from Richmond Police District have alerted the Irish Consulate of the man's death," the authorities said in a statement.

“A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner,” they added.

Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this incredibly upsetting time.

Ireland Baldwin has been getting candid about her pregnancy journey so far.

The model revealed on New Year’s Eve that she is expecting her first child with her musician boyfriend RAC, otherwise known as Andre Allen Anjos.

However, as excited as she is to become a mother, the 27-year-old has admitted to her 680K Instagram followers that she is really struggling with being pregnant.

Taking to the social media platform last night, Ireland, who is the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, posted a lengthy message to explain how she is feeling. “Pregnancy is hard. It takes so much out of you. I wasn’t ready for that,” the mum-to-be shared, adding that she has always “wanted a baby with the right person.”

Ireland goes on to reveal that she has struggled with all aspects of pregnancy. “I underestimated just how hard pregnancy would be on my mind and my body,” she penned. “Being someone who deals with extreme health anxiety on a daily basis, pregnancy turned things into a high gear. I’ve struggled to adapt to these changes,” Ireland shared honestly.

Ireland notes that she knows her experience could be worse, but it is still a difficult one. “I know everyone has an entirely different experience and mine is easy compared to most, but f*** it’s a struggle,” she wrote.

However, her struggles are not hindering her excitement to welcome her first child. “And even through all of this, none of this reflects on how excited I am to be her mom,” Ireland gushed.

“All of this is still worth it but it’s ok to admit how hard and scary it all can be. You are not alone,” she insisted to her followers in her conclusion.

Since opening up about her pregnancy, Ireland has received a wave of love and support in her comments section.

“Amen to that”, wrote her cousin Alaia Baldwin. “you’re amazing”.

Jacinda Ardern has announced she is resigning as Prime Minister of New Zealand.

In an emotional clip where she described the last five and a half years as ‘the most fulfilling of my life’, Jacinda shocked the public by revealing she will step down as Prime Minister.

Jacinda's term will conclude on February 7 as she “no longer has enough in the tank”.

Ardern first became Prime Minister in 2017 in a coalition government and became the world's youngest female head of government. Three years later, she led the Labour Party to victory and continued being the country's Prime Minister.

While she was Prime Minister, Jacinda faced a multitude of challenges which she discussed at a news conference. “We encountered a major biosecurity incursion, a domestic terror event, a major natural disaster, a global pandemic and economic crisis”.

As she held back tears, Jacinda explained the reason why she has decided to resign. “I know what this job takes, and I know that I no longer have enough in the tank to do it justice. It's that simple”.

The 42-year-old continued, “I’m not leaving because I believe we can’t win the election, but because I believe we can and will. We need a fresh set of shoulders for that challenge”.

“I am human. Politicians are human. We give all that we can for as long as we can and then it’s time, and for me, it’s time”.

The mum-of-one then spoke about her future and future plans with her family. “To Neve, Mum is looking forward to when you start school this year. And to Clarke, let's finally get married”.

Pamela Anderson has been getting candid about her personal life!

The former Baywatch star has got a lot to say, as proven by the upcoming releases of both her memoir Love, Pamela, and her Netflix documentary, titled Pamela, a love story.

In an excerpt of her book obtained by People, Pamela details her infamous marriage to The Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee.

Despite the couple’s eventual divorce, the 55-year-old admits that, in actual fact, Tommy was her one true love.

"My relationship with Tommy may have been the only time I was ever truly in love,” Pamela writes. "We just wanted to have babies and be together forever."

The couple wed in 1995 on a beach in Cancun. However, despite the constant invasions of their lives by paparazzi, the couple still found ways to be free. "We had fun, and our rule was no rules,” Pamela teases.

Pamela admits that the pair’s ‘sex tape’ scandal – which occurred in 1996 after personal tapes were stolen during a break-in – was the beginning of the end for her marriage.

"It ruined lives, starting with our relationship — and it's unforgivable that people, still to this day, think they can profit from such a terrible experience, let alone a crime,” Pamela ponders.

In the following months, Tommy began to turn violent on both Pamela and their two sons, Brandon and Dylan, and his change in behaviour led the actress to file for divorce.

"The divorce from Tommy was the hardest, lowest, most difficult point of my life," she admits in her autobiography.

"I was crushed. I still couldn't believe that the person I loved the most was capable of what had happened that night,” she adds, referring to a particularly horrifying incident where both she and Dylan were injured by Tommy. “We were both devastated, but I had to protect my babies."

Thankfully, Pamela later confirms that she and Tommy have a much healthier relationship now, and they make sure to "check in, every once in a while.”

"Tommy is the father of my kids and I'm forever grateful,” she reveals.

More details will be shed on Pamela’s life and career when both Love, Pamela and Pamela, a love story are released on January 31.

Kate Middleton has taken part in a very important visit!

Earlier today, the Princess of Wales visited Foxcubs Nursery in Luton. It is just one of many visits that the Princess has undertaken in the past few years, as she continues her work to improve early childhood development.

The 41-year-old looked absolutely elegant today, as she paired an orange turtleneck maxi dress with a black belt cinched around her waist. Topping off the January-appropriate outfit, the Princess paired her dress with a camel trench coat and brown boots.

The mother-of-three seemed to thoroughly enjoy her visit to the nursery, as she quickly got down to work with the children.

She began to make DIY paper masks with them, and once she had completed her own, the Princess could even be seen teasing and beaming at some of the nursery tots as she held her cat-shaped mask up to her face.

Taking to Instagram after her visit, the social media team for the Prince and Princess of Wales expressed how delighted Kate was to have visited Foxcubs Nursery, by posting a heartwarming video montage of her time there today.

As well as making her paper mask, the video showcased the Princess getting involved with playing with the sandpit, as well as listening intently to the children's remarks.

“Learning through play at Foxcubs Nursery!”, their caption exclaimed.

The video’s caption then went on to outline the importance of education in the first few years of a child’s life. “Outstanding early years settings like this play a huge role in positively shaping a child’s development,” the team penned. “The collaboration between staff and parents is just one of the ways children here are supported in their first five years.”

The Princess of Wales has been an advocate for early childhood development for most of her working royal life. In June 2021, she founded the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which aims to boost awareness about the importance of early years, and how impactful they can be.

The Olympian shared the wonderful news earlier today to her 197K Instagram followers, confirming she is pregnant one year on from suffering a heartbreaking ectopic pregnancy.

Laura posted a photo of her holding a teddy that looks like her son Albie and penned, “A year ago today I was sat in A&E knowing I was really poorly but not knowing what was wrong with me. When I got the news I was having an ectopic pregnancy my world felt like it crumbled”.

“We had already lost our second baby in the November and I remember lying there searching for some sort of answers.  I still feel this heartbreak today and I don't think it will never go away”.

“But today a year on”, the cyclist continued before sharing a photo of four bikes propped up against a snow-covered fence with a rainbow in the background.

The caption of the photo simply had a white heart and rainbow emoji, confirming she was pregnant.

The 30-year-old added another photo to her Instagram Stories explaining how she feels about sharing her news with the world. “Today I felt like I couldn't hide away anymore. I'm already starting to show and the anxiety I have felt has been unreal”.

“Telling the world means I have to accept we are having another baby and it fills me with all kinds of emotions. I'm scared every single day that I might have to go through the pain of losing another baby”.

She continued, “It makes you feel ungrateful for something you've so desperately wanted for the last year.  But I also know there are going to be so many people, like I was, seeing my post and wishing I would go away with my happy ending”.

“But I also know when I was lying in a hospital bed I was searching for people's happy Endings because it was the only thing giving me any comfort at the time. That maybe, just maybe I would get my happy ending”.

Many famous faces congratulated Laura and Jason on the exciting news including many Olympians- Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, Josie Knight and Sarah Storey.
