We’re officially halfway through the week!

Even though we’re on a shorter working week this week (all thanks to Monday’s Bank Holiday), we’re still desperate to have a relaxing evening. We deserve a bit of me time!

In particular, we’re in the mood to have a stunning night in with a cosy sofa, plenty of snacks and a great film to watch. Swoonworthy period dramas are always our go-to, and thankfully, RTÉ One has got us covered this evening!

So, listen up Downton Abbey fans, because tonight, RTÉ One will be airing Downton Abbey The Movie!

Credit: Focus Features

This is the first of two recent ventures that the Downton gang took to the big screen, and it was first released back in 2019.

In short, the first Downton Abbey film is set two years after the original TV series concluded.

It’s 1927, and things have certainly changed around Downton – Thomas Barrow has now taken over from Mr Carson as butler, Mary has since welcomed a second child, and Edith is still adjusting to her new title of Marquess of Hexham.

However, the upstairs and downstairs worlds of Downton are soon thrown into disarray when they are told that King George V and Queen Mary will be visiting the estate during a royal tour.

Chaos is quickly unleashed around the household, as both the staff and the Crawley family prepare for their first royal visit – but will it be a roaring success, or an absolute disaster?

The first film in the Downton Abbey franchise features the return of all of your favourite stars, including the likes of Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Jim Carter and Maggie Smith.

Downton Abbey will air tonight on RTÉ One at 9:35pm. So, get the snacks in!

Dermalogica the #1 professional skin care brand worldwide, has created ways to treat all types of breakout-prone skin.

Products are formulated for the treatment room, used daily in the hands of licensed skin therapists and by 20 million people for professional results at home.

This week, Dermalogica has launched two new products which we believe are worthy of mention:

NEW Dermalogica Deep Breakout Liquid Patch

Forms an invisible, breathable patch – helping to soothe, clear and prevent deep, hidden blemishes.

Pimple patches have become a go-to treatment for people experiencing deep, painful breakouts, but their drawbacks are becoming increasingly apparent. They’re highly visible, they can seal in bacteria and potentially delay healing – and some brands are overpackaged or include non-recyclable components.

Standard breakout-fighting ingredients like Salicylic Acid aren’t a perfect solution for deep breakouts, either: they can’t effectively reach and treat these uncomfortable blemishes beneath skin’s surface, allowing them to develop into painful, red bumps. Additionally, treatments like Salicylic Acid and Retinol are not considered safe for use during pregnancy – which, along with monthly hormonal fluctuations, is one of the top causes of deep breakouts.

The solution is clear. New Deep Breakout Liquid Patch from Dermalogica.

Key Benefits

  • Invisibly clears deep, hidden blemishes
  • Soothes breakout-irritated skin + helps prevent future breakouts
  • Is safe for use during pregnancy

Unlike highly visible patches, this potent Sulfur-based treatment goes on as a clear liquid and dries down to form an invisible, semi-permeable barrier that allows airflow to help your blemish heal, while also protecting skin from pollution and bacteria. Safe for use during pregnancy, it delivers a targeted breakout-fighting active, along with an immediate cooling effect to help soothe discomfort. Plus, a single recyclable tube contains 125 uses – and less plastic waste than typical patch treatments.

Key Ingredients

  • Deep Breakout Liquid Patch features the following clearing + soothing actives:
  • Skin-mimicking film forms a semi-permeable patch that allows airflow while protecting skin from pollution and irritants.
  • Camphor delivers a cooling sensation.
  • 5% Colloidal Sulfur helps combat breakouts for rapid skin clearing.
  • 4% Niacinamide helps soothe skin and fade post-breakout marks.

Apply it as soon as you feel a blemish forming, even over make-up – and stop breakouts before you can even see them!

NEW Clear Start Clarifying Body Spray

Say goodbye to body breakouts and get yourself back on track with Clear Start’s new Clarifying Body Spray. Body breakouts can be painful, uncomfortable and take a real hit to your body confidence.  Often caused by sweat, oil, dead skin cells and bacteria trapped in pores, acne on the back and body can worsen by friction and heat caused by backpacks, sweaty clothing or sportswear.

The new clarifying body spray from Clear Start is a breakout-fighting spray that acts fast on those hard- to-reach areas to help clear clogged pores and minimize future body breakouts. The micro-fine, refreshing mist even disperses upside-down to ensure no spot is out of reach. Use it to treat active body breakouts and to keep future breakouts at bay.

Exfoliating Salicylic Acid helps to remove dead skin cells, while soothing Witch Hazel, Tea Tree Oil and Moroccan Argan Extracts balance oil and reduce redness. The spray is ideal for use after a shower or on the go, and it’s the perfect size to pop into a gym or beach bag.

Leah Taylor has given her opinion on all the latest Love Island drama!

Sparks are continuing to fly between the summer season’s cast, despite filming for the show wrapping up on Sunday night.

In particular, returning series two bombshell Kady McDermott has been on both the firing and receiving line of backlash, after comments she made on podcasts about her fellow co-stars.

After revealing her opinions about fourth place couple Zachariah Noble and Molly Marsh, Zach went on to call out Kady during the Love Island reunion, stating that she always has “our name in your mouth”.

Now, a few days on from the tense reunion episode, fellow Islander Leah Taylor has given her thoughts on all the drama.

Leah, who has remained close with Kady since leaving the Mallorcan villa, spoke to MailOnline about the ongoing situation.

“I feel like obviously everyone has opinions on each other and that's fine. Some people are more outspoken and make sure that they voice their opinions,” the 27-year-old explained.

“But I think as long as everyone's intentions behind it are nice and not from a bad place, then I guess each person can say their opinion,” she continued.

Without naming any names, Leah went on to share what she would like to see from her fellow castmates.

“My advice would be to sort it out behind closed doors, so there is no negativity,” she wished.

“If I'm honest I stay out of the drama. I don't like drama or negativity which is rich going on a TV show but at the same time I just don't want to be part of it,” she confessed.

Leah also explained that after leaving ‘villa life’ behind, the events of the show continue to stay “on the top of your mind.”

“I don't think anyone is doing it maliciously, it's the going on podcasts and answering the questions that are being asked. They are going to have to be answered by some people,” she insisted.

The actress joined EastEnders in 2008 when she was just 16 years old. For the past 15 years, her role as Whitney Dean has grown to be a beloved character with loyal audiences.

Now, in a recent interview with Inside Soap, the 31-year-old has opened up about the reason why she has decided to say goodbye to the BBC One soap.

"It wasn’t an easy decision because I've made so many friends. I’ve seen people come and go, and meanwhile, Whitney has been one of the longest-standing characters,” Shona explained.

"I've had so much fun and done so many storylines, some of which have been sensitive,” she recalled, referring to Whitney’s experiences with baby loss and abuse.

“So I'm going to be sad to say goodbye to my friends and family, but it was the right decision for me as I want to do other things. After 15 years, I’ve had a pretty good run!” she exclaimed.

The star also noted that she doesn’t want Whitney to be killed off, and that she deserves a “happy ending”.

"The majority of comments online and when I speak to people in the street are along the lines of, 'When is Whitney going to have her happy ending?' and I think it's time,” Shona insisted.

"Don't get me wrong, I want it to be dramatic! Everyone knows that I love playing the drama. So, I hope there are some twists and turns thrown in there and maybe even a little stunt!” she teased.

When asked what she thought Whitney’s exit could be, the actress concluded: "Maybe she could leave on a motorbike? I don't know, but I can't wait to find out."

It has been reported that Whitney’s final EastEnders episode will air next year.

Olivia Newton-John’s family has opened up about ‘supernatural encounters’ with the star after her passing.

The Grease actress tragically passed away at the age of 73 on August 8, 2022, following a battle with breast cancer that spanned over 30 years.

As this week marks a year since Olivia’s death, her family have been reflecting on life without the legend and revealed multiple ‘supernatural encounters’ with her.

While speaking to People, Newton-John’s daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, held onto an aquamarine pendant necklace as she explained, “Two weeks after she passed my phone accidentally took a picture of my dog, and there floating by his head was a little blue orb, the same colour as this”.

The necklace has a special meaning for the family as Olivia’s husband, John Easterling, had given it to her as a gift and she passed it onto Chloe before she died.

Chloe continued, “Mom and I had talked years back. We’d watch these paranormal shows, and I’d say, ‘You gotta show up for me’. And she was like, ‘I’ll show up as one of those orb things’”.

John also admitted to experiencing ‘visits’ from Olivia, with the most recent one being when he was in Peru with his wife’s ashes.

He was holding a ceremony in the same place they got married on what would have been their 15th wedding anniversary when he saw a ‘blue orb’.

“I took a picture, and this blue orb is right between my eyes. It’s been a supernatural year”.

“There’s no replacing her”, Easterling added.

As Chloe and her step-dad prepare to lead Olivia’s Walk for Wellness in October to help raise funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre, Chloe said, “It’s an honour. I know it’s going to be really hard emotionally, but I’m excited to do this for her”.

John went on to say, “I have to stop and just be grateful. She wants us to live life and love life and never lose sight of the good things”.

Jorgie Porter has opened up about her experience with motherhood.

The Hollyoaks actress welcomed her baby boy, Forest, into the world in November of last year with her fiancé Ollie Piotrowski.

Now that Forest is eight months old, Jorgie has shared an insight into the realities of motherhood and loss after tragically suffering a miscarriage at 14 weeks with quadruplets in August 2021, and another miscarriage at 6 weeks at the start of 2022.

Speaking to OK!, the 35-year-old revealed, “Life has been a roller-coaster ride, but I’m doing great. For a while after I’d given birth, it was all a bit of a panic”.

“I think going through loss changes how you feel. Having been through miscarriage, I’m so grateful to be a mum and it makes me appreciate having Forest even more because I know how fragile things can be”.

Porter went on to admit, “I’d wrap Forest up in cotton wool if I could. I think it’s due to the fact I’ve lost before. When other people are with Forest, I’m the kind of parent who’ll say, ‘Don’t worry, let me sort it’, rather than letting them take over”.

“I’m starting to get more relaxed but at the beginning I was like, ‘He’s precious, don’t touch him’”. People say that you lose yourself after becoming a mum and that was true for a while as I was so focused on looking after Forest”.

“Once I got into the swing of things, I started to feel myself thanks to date nights with Ollie or phone calls with friends”.

As the actress keeps her 753K Instagram followers up to date with her motherhood journey, Jorgie spoke out about the importance of showing the realistic side of everyday life.

“It’s important to show other new mums that we all experience disasters. People DM me saying they can relate while others will give me tips on what I can do the next time I’m faced with a changing catastrophe. When they say it takes a village, that’s exactly what it is”.
