Rumours have been swirling about the engagement of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, and they can now be put to bed.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas enjoyed their morning in Mumbai today, as they had a traditional engagement ceremony.

The ceremony is known in India as a roka ceremony, and the pair cemented their engagement in front of friends and family.

The couple will celebrate with a party later tonight.

Priyanka wore a stunning yellow gown, which she showcased in a sweet Instagram post with her husband to be.

She also displayed her beautiful engagement ring in the picture, along with the caption: 'Taken.. With all my heart and soul..'

Nick Jonas shared the same snap, saying: 'Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love.'

The couple will be having an Indian wedding, and, according to a source, they do not wish to have a long engagement.

"Priyanka wants everything to be traditional to respect her family's values, and definitely an Indian wedding," a source told E! earlier this week.

'All of the plans are moving quickly and Priyanka and Nick do not want to have a long engagement."

The Beckham family has been vacationing in style, staying in posh hotels with infinity pools and soaking up the Indonesian sun on tropical beaches. #holidaygoals

The family has been staying in the gorgeous country for the past few weeks, and their Instagram posts have been giving us major FOMO.

They are having the time of their lives, learning how to crack coconuts, swimming in an infinity pool, and paddle boarding together.

And Victoria has been sure to document it all for us peasants, constantly posting photos and videos of her children and husband David on her Insta story.

Love my babies kisses from us all x VB

A post shared by Victoria Beckham (@victoriabeckham) on

But amidst all the fun and laughter, the Beckhams made sure to set aside time for an important cause that is close to the former Spice Girl's heart.

The family visited young kids at The Sumba Foundation, an organisation dedicated to helping underprivileged, Sumbanese children have access to life essentials like clean water and medical treatment.

The foundation also enrols students in classes, giving them the educational tools they will need for their futures, as well as incorporating local culture and traditions into their daily lives.

Victoria shared photos of her family spending time with the children, teaching them English and playing games together.

Her husband even started up a game of footie with the eager youths.

The retired footballer and his wife parent four kids: Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 13, and Harper, 7.

The Beckham clan loved interacting with the happy students and having a good time together.

“Special day with the inspiring students in Sumba. We loved hanging out helping to teach English and play games!” the mum posted.

Charity has always been one of Victoria’s passions.

She is an International Goodwill Ambassador for UNAIDS and actively supports Save the Children.

It is nice to see the celebrities not only enjoying their holidays but prioritising charitable endeavours as well.

We are delighted that the children at The Sumba Foundation are getting the support they need and that this celeb family is taking the time to try and brighten their day.

When it comes to festival hairstyles, they've pretty much been done to death.

From space buns to braids and wavy boho locks, we want to see something outside the norm.

Luckily, hair artist Janine Ker created some bespoke and blinged out hair looks for Coachella this year, and we're taking our queue from her.

A post shared by Janine Ker (@janine_ker_hair) on

Festival makeup has long relied on the addition of glitter and gems to make a statement.

Janine's hair look has adopted the same medium to create intricate and striking styles.

Do achieve the look, find some crafty gems to apply in an art supply store, or purchase adhesive jewels from Etsy.

A post shared by Janine Ker (@janine_ker_hair) on

The style needs a flat surface to mount the gems, so it works really well on a day-three-of-the-weekend, slicked back ponytail.

Apply the gems in a creative pattern of your choosing, to match your festival ensemble.

You may have gotten the Spotify notification, but yesterday, Ariana Grande dropped her hotly anticipated new album, titled sweetener

The album has been highly praised by fans and critics alike over the past 24 hours.

However, fans are also speculating that the singer is paying tribute to the victims of the Manchester bombing attack last May, which killed 22 people.

While no song explicitly  mentions or addresses the attack, fans believe that the song Get Well Soon is in homage to the lives lost.

The final song on the album features 40 seconds of silence at the end of the track.

This isn't unusual for artists, but fans speculate that it may be a moment of silence for the victims.

The moment of silence also brings  the song's runtime to 5:22, which is also the date of the bombing, which happened on May 22nd.

Ariana Grande has not confirmed if this wa a subtle way for her to honour the victims.

With the intense pressures of performing well in the Leaving Cert, it seems that some Irish students have turned to cheating to nab those coveted points.

80 students who sat their Leaving Cert exams this year have had their results withdrawn due to suspicions of cheating.

The State Examinations Commission has confirmed to The Irish Times that the sets of results are being “permanently withheld” from 43 of these students.

The Commission is still investigating the rest of the cases.

Students have the option to appeal cheating allegations.

It is not known what methods were used to cheat by the students.

Electronic methods have been used in years previously, with students utilising technology to cheat in their State examinations.

Magnetic lashes have been the most recent online trend, demonstrating hassle-free extensions in a matter of seconds.

But the question is…do they really work?

Today I am trying magnetic Lashes. Goodtimes! #magneticlashes

A post shared by Deanna Milsap (@deannamil) on

So, I decided to try these luscious lashes out for myself.

First, you should know that I am no lash amateur. My roommate does professional lash extensions, and I have often been the guinea pig of her many beauty experiments.

When I had permanent extensions, I used to love waking up every morning and not having to do my eye makeup, but I hated the constant upkeep.

At the time I was working two jobs while going to college so I had NO time for fills every two weeks. Plus, sometimes a girl needs to rub her eyes after a good cry and that would cause these lashes to tragically spiral off in every direction, making me look like the mad hatter.

I figured that magnetic lashes would be the perfect compromise because of their easy removal.

After a weekend trial, I came to this conclusion: I absolutely loved them!

Contrary to popular assumptions, they are super simple to apply to your eyelids.

The eyelash strips came in small box with arrows indicating which were meant for the top lashes and which were meant from the bottom.

After about twenty minutes of trial and error, I figured out how to slide the lashes on exactly where they looked best – the outside corner of the eye.

The trick was to place the bottom lash on first and then lower the top lash on your eyelid until the magnet gently snaps together.

By the third day that I used them, I was able to apply them in just a few minutes with some minor adjustments.

Here are my before and after pictures.

Before
After

What a difference, right?!

These magnetic strips transformed by eyelashes from drab to fab!

Now, although I love this product there are some cons to the full lash look. If you prefer the natural vibe with some face powder and mascara then these may not be for you.

Because of the black magnets that line the strip, I found that I got the best results when I penciled on some eyeliner. This blended the black line across the whole lid instead of awkwardly leaving it on just half of the eye.

Also, I personally have straight-down lashes with no curl in them whatsoever. So, I curled my natural eyelashes before I stuck on the lash strips, making sure they did not peak through the false ones.

Therefore, the product was not a massive time saver in my daily make up routine, but it also did not take me more time than usual.

Overall, these fabulous lashes are great for a night out on the town or a classy, posh event on a student's budget. I will definitely be using them when I go out on the sesh this weekend.

At our age, we are poorly attempting to juggle a career, a social life and self-care.

Honestly, it can be exhausting.

So it's little surprise that when it comes to getting our freak-on – we would rather watch Netflix without the chill.

It seems that our perception of this is skewed, according to this research.

The BBC asked people in Britain and US how much sex they think people between the ages of 18-29 were having.

The results were in and to be honest, we are kinda shook – they're wild.

The average guess were that young men in both countries were getting down and dirty 14 times in a month.

Sorry lads – but it couldn't be further from the truth – it was actually just five times in Britain and four in the US, says surveys on sexual behaviour.

But wait, it gets better.

It's our turn ladies and supposedly Brits think we are getting our bit 22 times a month, while Americans think it is 23 times.

Now, let's crunch the numbers properly.

This means we would be having sex EVERY weekday.

PLUS, doubling or tripling up on special occasions.

Immediately, our first thought is how on earth do we find the time?

I call it a success when I manage to get three square meals in, never mind trying to squeeze a daily sexy session in.

Here is where I will burst the bubble, in reality women our age are having sex five times in four weeks. – That sounds a tad more accurate.

But, why are the misconceptions around how much sex we are having, so big?

Well, people white lie for various reasons around their sex life.

Judgement remains high and societal norms surrounding gender and sex are prominent.

This was evident when in the same survey the BBC asked three different nations how many sexual partners they had notched up, by the time they reached the ages 45 to 54.

Guesses for males were scarily accurate, in Britain and Australia the average was 17, and in the US, 19. – Most participates guessed these correctly.

However, when it came to questions around sexual behaviour in female and males – eyebrows were raised and perhaps lies were told.

Women reported much lower sexual experiences than their male counterparts, even saying that they've had half of the sexual partners in comparison to men.

However, there's a problem statistically – the amount of sexual partners for both genders should somewhat match.

Since both men and women are saying they're having sexual relations and they make up roughly the same amount of the heterosexual population – it would be impossible for women to have half the partners of men.

But time and time again, this is a common finding in surveys, amongst our friends and depending on the circumstance – some of us have even tweaked our number.

This survey goes to show that perception has a seriously powerful influence on society.

Our age group probably needs to get laid a little bit more.

And gals – you aren't defined by a number so own your experiences and don't be shy about your sexual partners.

And if you're friends are bragging about the amount of sex they're having – you can presume that they're fibbing.

Social media influencers have cemented their place in the cultural zeitgeist of our time, as 2D women on smartphone screens wield the ultimate persuasive purchasing power.

In Ireland, we have the likes of Pippa O'Connor, Erika Fox and Suzanne Jackson, while globally Susie Bubble Chiara Ferragni and Huda Kattan can demand huge sums from brands for their seal of association.

They plaster our feeds with videos of their expansive homes and luxury cars, enthral us with their cutting-edge OOTD snaps and make us sick with envy thanks to their jet set lifestyles and tropical vacations.

However, while we gaze upon their styling skills and marvel at their capability to own a new Gucci handbag every single season, there is little mention of the journey to the pinnacle of social media stardom .

If you're a follower of these fashionable women, you may have purchased or sourced their garments through the well-scrolled fashion app LIKEtoKNOW.it -which has a behemoth online following of it's own.

Shauntelle Tynan from Co. Carlow was diagnosed with multi-system Langheran cell histiocytosis, a rare cancer, in 2015.

The then 18-year-old's only hope was experimental treatment at a children's hospital in Texas, which would cost €500,000.

In a bid to raise the much-needed funds, Shauntelle made a heart-wrenching video, which subsequently went viral.

Incredibly, €750K was raised for the young woman's treatment.

Now, two years later, Shauntelle has been declared cancer free, and is technically NAD (No Active Disease).

"We are so lost for words right now but wanted you all to know that my journey of active cancer has come to a close and we hope it remains that way!" Shan wrote on Facebook.

"The future obstacles I will face will be worth everything I've been through. Now I truly have a chance at life and will keep you all updated to how I grow in the future. Next stop is ringing that bell I've watched so many kids ring when they got to cancer free, something we never thought I'd do!

"I'm sure you're all going to hear it from Ireland, I'll keep you all updated over the next few weeks with everything going on, but for now, I will finish this post here and also include a short video below of this long journey."

Shan will have to travel back to Texas every 3-6 months initially, and then yearly for the rest of her life. She will also remain on oral chemo as maintenace for the next 12-18 months, with care secured for her here in Ireland.

The young woman will arrive back in Ireland on October 18th.

You only need to chat to friends and colleagues to realise that a worrying number of people within your social circle are experiencing and exhibiting signs of stress.

But when terms like ‘burned-out’ and ‘time-poor’ are bandied about so often in daily discourse, it’s no surprise that many of us have started to normalise these feelings.

Assuming that physical ailments and emotional anguish are part and parcel of millennial life means that many of us fail to properly identify stress, and subsequently neglect to reach out and seek treatment.

With that in mind, it’s worth considering the signs and symptoms associated with stress in order to properly care for yourself and your wellbeing before it manifests into a bigger issue.

1. Muscle pain

Stress often manifests itself physically, and one of its key targets are body parts like your neck, shoulders and back.

As tension builds and your stress levels increase, your body responds with the tightening of muscles which results in a stiff or aching upper half.

If you have made all the appropriate changes in your workspace, including adjusting the height of your chair and your computer screen and made similar changes in your home, but still frequently feel pain in these areas, it’s worth noting your stress levels and approaching a physician.

When under too much stress, some people get muscle facial pain and headaches. Stress can lead to teeth grinding and you may not even be aware of it. Bruxism (teeth grinding) is a condition in which you grind your teeth unconsciously when you’re awake or while you’re sleeping. If it becomes chronic over time, it’s probably best to see your dentist about a mouth guard for teeth grinding so you can preserve your teeth’s enamel.

2. Irregular heartbeat

We all know that our hearts tend to beat faster when we’re frightened or excited, but how are you meant to justify a rapid heartbeat when you’re merely tending to tasks in the office?

A prolonged period of stress and anxiety can cause your body to produce the ‘stress response’ more regularly, and this response includes irregular heart beats, rhythms, heart flutters or skipped heart beats.

In saying that, as the issue concerns your heart, it’s important to seek to a GP who can rule out more serious conditions.

3. Breathlessness

Most of us have heard of someone suffering an anxiety attack in an episode where they struggled to breath and ‘felt like they were dying’.

As this is an extreme example, many of us tend to dismiss our own experiences where we have struggled to catch our breath or find ourselves breathing shallowly throughout the day.

If you find yourself unable to take a deep breath in the office or can’t catch your breath on a day to day basis, it’s worth approaching your doctor and highlighting the issue.

4. Insomnia

The internet is awash with memes which depict our generation’s apparent inability to switch off from social media in order to get a good night’s sleep.

But what if you intend to get some much-need sleep each and every night, but simply can’t fall asleep despite the fact you haven’t laid eyes on a phone or computer screen in hours?

Struggling to sleep despite being tired is a key indicator of stress, and not something you should ignore.

5. Feeling overwhelmed

It’s important to remember that there will be times in everyone’s college life or career path when they feel overwhelmed.

This feeling is often temporary and is a response to a project or increasing workload, but normally dissipates once a target or goal has been met.

It’s important to seek support if you feel overwhelmed on a day-to-day basis and struggle to find pleasure in other aspects of your daily life.

6.  A general feeling of unhappiness

Stress is not a condition to be dismissed as it plays an enormous role in a person’s day-to-day life and their ability to find pleasure with family and friends.

It’s totally normal to feel unhappy as a result of circumstances in your life, but when you can’t shake the malcontent despite addressing the percieved issues, it’s important to take note.

And if you struggle regularly with any of the above symptoms, it’s no surprise your prevailing feeling is one of unhappiness.

But listen…

The important thing to remember if you know or feel you are suffering from stress is that there are multiple ways to address it.

From taking the time to note when you feel most stressed to identifying the issues which result in the above symptoms, you are earmarking the potential triggers in your life, and can subsequently act on them.

Whether that means approaching your boss with your concerns, speaking to your bank about your financial issues, or communicating your upset to your partner, you are allowing yourself to seek help and guidance.

Approaching a GP or a counsellor with your symptoms is highly recommended, as they can provide you with methods to tackle the stress and advice on how to keep it at bay.

And most importantly…

There is no shame in feeling stressed. Many of us berate ourselves by insisting that one potentially small issue shouldn’t impact so negatively across every aspect of our life, but that’s the insidious nature of stress.

The feelings caused by stress don’t tend to switch off once you leave the office, close your online banking app or part ways with the friend who is causing you upset. You’re not a robot, in other words.

Identifying that you are suffering from it is one of the first steps in treating it.
