Whether we want to admit it or not, most of us girls have, at some stage in our lives, pictured the moment the love of our life would get down on one knee and pop the big question.

Regardless of whether you’re attached or not, fantasising about a special proposal is as standard an exercise as placing a pillow case over your head as a five-year-old and making your way up the aisle (also known as the front hall) to meet your Prince Charming (also known as the six-year-old next door neighbour who you secretly hated.)

We’re certain though that none of the proposals you pictured ever looked like these.

1. Well, that's all well and good, but who's going to wash that romantic garage door of love now?

2. We'd have devoured this before we realised WHAT was going on.

3. No.

4. We're not sure what Mild Sauce said, but we're sure it was a yes.

5. Why? So we can have a big, festive 'weeding'?

Really lads, really?

If we thought Tyra Banks’ infamous and epic meltdown on America’s Next Top Model was bad, we can’t imagine how angry she is after learning that she is being sued by a former contestant.

Aspiring model Angelea Preston has reportedly brought a legal case against Tyra, who is also the executive producer on the show, on grounds of a breach-of-contract after her disqualification from the show.

Preston made it to the final three in the All-Stars cycle of the show, alongside Allison Harvard and eventual winner Lisa D’Amato, but was kicked off the show when producers learned of her secret past as an escort.

Now, Preston is suing Banks for a cool $3 million, claiming that she was unfairly denied the prize money and accompanying career opportunities that may have come from staying in the final.

Explaining Preston’s disqualification at the time, show judge Nigel Barker said: “It turns out our production team and the network (The CW) learned information from Angelea that disqualifies her from the competition.”

Tyra has yet to comment on Preston’s legal action, but we bet that you, like us, are picturing her epic angry face right now!

It looks like it’s all over for Emma Watson and her rugby star boyfriend, Matthew Janney.

The pair have reportedly called time on their romance after a year of dating.

While a spokesperson only confirmed the split this week, it is believed that Emma and Matthew went their separate ways over a month ago.

It’s been quite a busy year for Harry Potter star Emma, so we’re not surprised to hear that it was conflicting schedules that ultimately led to the break-up.

Confirming the news to the Daily Mail, the spokesperson insisted that the split was entirely amicable.

Emma began dating rugby player Matt at the end of last year, with the pair going public with their romance during a holiday in the Caribbean in January.

However, between finishing up her studies at Brown University and starring in a string of hit movies, it seems that Emma’s flourishing career just didn’t leave much room for romance.

Well that’s a shame, they were so cute together!

Christmas food is all about indulgence, but as with every menu, some things are going to be worse for you than others.

If you're watching your waistline this Christmas season, here are a few festive foods to avoid. Of course, it's hard to say no to our favourites at this time of year, but try to stick to smaller portions of these foods where possible.

On the dinner table

Dark turkey meat with skin
Turkey is generally a low-fat and high-protein meat, but stick to skinless white meat as it contains three times less fat than dark meat with the skin. They both contain equal amounts of protein too so you won't be missing out there!

Cranberry sauce
This essential turkey accompaniment can be relatively healthy if homemade, but canned and pre-made versions can be extremely high in sugar. Make your own by bringing 100ml of orange juice and 100g of light muscovado sugar to a gentle boil in a saucepan and adding 250g cranberries. Stir and allow to simmer until the cranberries are tender and the sauce has thickened (between 5 and 10 minutes depending on whether the berries are frozen or fresh).

Stuffing
Who can resist a generous helping of stuffing with their turkey and ham? Well, if you're dieting, try to have a not-so-indulgent helping this year. Depending on the recipe, stuffing can be packed with sausage meat and butter – not exactly a dieter's dream.

Creamy mashed potato
Mashing your potatoes isn't going to make them instantly higher in fat, but if you're adding mounds of butter or cream then they're definitely something to eat in moderation. A splash of milk, a tiny bit of butter and some salt and pepper is more than enough for delicious mash.

For dessert

Fruit cake
Given the high fruit content this may seem like a better option than other desserts, but fruit cake is extremely dense and is packed with butter and sugar.

Cheesecake
Any cake made with cream cheese is going to have alarm bells, but stick to fruitier, lighter versions rather than chocolate ones for less of a calorific impact.

Yule log
A slice of this can pack in almost half your day's allowance of calories – we're talking heavy cream, chocolate, butter and sugar all in one go. One to avoid, perhaps!

It’s the biggest weekend yet for The X Factor, with the winner due to be announced, so this news could not have come at a worse time.

Show bosses have revealed that judge Mel B may miss out on the live final due to a mystery illness.

Fears were first raised after the singer missed yesterday’s press event, with the star reportedly refusing to come into contact with her act, Andrea Faustini, for fear of making him sick.

Now, while no further details of the illness have been revealed, a source has said that Mel’s chances of recovering in time for the final are highly doubtful.

The source told the Daily Star: “Mel can’t help it. She is so poorly and may have to miss the final altogether. There’s a chance she won’t make it, absolutely.”

Mel has been a total revelation in this series, so it will be a massive shame if she misses the final show. Here’s hoping that she will make a speedy recovery in time to take up her seat on the famous judging panel!

So the diet's been going well all day, until 3pm hits and all thoughts of healthy eating go out the window. You're in the mood for chocolate and those biscuits in the cupboard are looking mighty tempting.

When you've got a craving, it can be hard to ignore – but you don't necessarily have to eat something high-fat or high-sugar to satisfy it.

Here are a few suggestions of snack ideas to satisy each and every craving type.

1. The sugar craving

What you want: Something sweet. Haribo jellies, cake, whatever – just give me the sugar.

What to snack on: Tangy fruits contain natural sugars which are better for your body than processed and refined ones. Try some fresh pineapple for a real sweet hit, or some low-fat yoghurt with granola and berries. If you want something more substantial, frozen yoghurt is a great low-fat option – just stick to plain rather than flavoured yoghurt and choose healthier toppings like fruit and nuts.

2. The chocolate craving

What you want: Dairy Milk, Galaxy, last year's Easter egg, basically anything containing delicious cocoa.

What to snack on: A square or two of dark chocolate is far lower in fat and will satisfy you more quickly than milk or white chocolate. Stick to chocolate with at least 70% cocoa. A chocolate covered rice cake only contains around 60 calories so is another great healthy option. If you're after something really moreish, try light chocolate regular milk or soy milk.

3. The salt craving

What you want: McDonalds or a messy Chinese takeaway. MSG please!

What to snack on: Pistachios will still satisfy your salt cravings and they contain more antioxidants than other nuts. Plus, having to crack open a shell each time means you can't mindlessly eat three handfuls without realising. Pita chips and popcorn are other low-fat salty snacks that will get you through the worst of any craving!

In winter we're forced to cover up our lovely outfits in giant jackets and coats. So if anything needs to stand out, it's our accessories – specifically, our handbag.

Whether your bag is purely for show or whether it contains your entire life (laptop, wallet, make-up, tampons…), it's an essential for any style-conscious lady.

Here are a few we're dying to get our hands on this season…

1. The clutch
Unless you're seriously minimalist when it comes to personal possessions, a clutch bag is strictly for nights out, but it beats carrying your giant leather handbag through a nightclub any day.

Hard Glitter Clutch, €52, Warehouse

2. The shopper
A hold-all, functional bag will see you through well into next year. We love this leather and suede mix one:

Leather Suede Lucy Shopper, €69, Oasis

3. The satchel
Perfect for accessorising your winter woollies. How gorgeous is this structured burgundy one?

Panel Satchel, €29.99, New Look

4. The "holds everything, and I mean everything" bag
It's an overnight bag, an airplane carry-on and everything in between. We all need a bag with seemingly endless capacity for storage. So what if you need to replace the zip every once in a while?

Pebbled Faux Leather Tote, €25.45, Forever 21

5. The budget buy
If you're the kind of girl who wears a different bag with every outfit, budget buys are your best friend. We're in love with this navy snakeskin number:

Contrast Shopper, €22.99, New Look

6. The backpack
Festivals, nights out or general day to day wandering around – a backpack will see you through.

Pile Backpack, €29.99, H&M

7. The obligatory expensive one
A girl can dream…

Michael Kors Bedford Zip Top Satchel, €350, Brown Thomas

Remember when Christmas was magical?

I don’t just mean selection boxes and putting up the tree, I mean nervously looking at the sky and SWEARING you just saw Santa’s sleigh. I mean giddily checking if the Man in Red had eaten the biscuits you’d left him and if Rudolph had taken a bite out of the carrot. I mean delightedly showing your parents the presents you’d gotten, because of course how would they know otherwise?

As we grow older, it becomes more of a chore to keep Christmas magical, especially if you don’t have any younger kids in your house. For most of us, December is a hugely stressful time at work or college and it becomes difficult to really get in the spirit of things until we’re finally home by the tree with a glass of mulled wine in hand.

We struggle our way through the crowds in town, getting pelted by wind/snow/lashing rain, as we rush to get last minute pressies for everyone. Will mum really like this assortment of tea towels? Yes, well, she’ll just have to won’t she.

Of course as we have more responsibility in our lives, Christmas is going to be that little bit more tiring and overwhelming. But let’s not forget what the season is all about. Sadly it might be a little too late for us to start believing in Santa again, but we can find magic in so many other ways.

Make an effort to approach things more calmly this year. Make a few arrangements with close friends rather than trying to fit everyone in for drinks and dinner in the space of three days. Get baking and crafting rather than blazing a trail through HMV buying box sets for everyone. Enjoy the Christmas music on the radio and the buzz building around the place.

If you’ve ever been away from home at Christmas you’ll know just how homesick you can get for cold weather, packed pubs and silly Secret Santa gifts. All of the little things that we tend to take for granted at this time of year are the exact things you’d miss in a heartbeat if you weren’t here.

So rather than getting all grumbly and stressed this year, take things in your stride and appreciate every little bit. Whether you’ve been celebrating for the last few weeks with nights out or whether you won’t really feel it’s Christmas until you’re on the way home on December 24th, soak it all in this year.

If you are lucky enough to have young siblings, nieces or nephews or kids of your own, take in the magic through their eyes. Get excited about Santa’s arrival. Put on your cosy PJs and drink hot chocolate with them on Christmas Eve instead of heading to the local to meet school friends you haven’t thought about in 10 years. Watch the corniest Christmas movie in your collection and jump up and down if it snows instead of worrying about how you’re going to drive in that weather.

Christmas is still full of magic, we just need to know where to find it!

The people who brought us Up and Finding Nemo are doing what they do best and if this trailer is anything to go by, we are in for a MAJOR treat!

Inside Out tells the story of Reilly who has been uprooted from her life in the Midwest and forced to come to terms with her new surroundings in San Francisco, but the transition is far from smooth.

Throw concerned parents, mixed signals and major emotional breakdowns into the mix as well as a little Pixar magic and you have a laugh-out-loud, not-to-be-missed family classic.

Can we book our tickets now?!

We wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of Katie Price, that's for sure.

The former glamour model caused a bit of a stir last month when she posted a cryptic tweet during an episode of Strictly Come Dancing about a mystery man on the show who had tried and failed to date her. Although she has yet to name the contestant, she now claims she has "a vault of evidence" about the man who pursued her.

The tweet, which was shared late last month, said, "Watching @bbcstrictly funny how he became arrogant v quick & can't say hi yet 2 years ago were wanting 2 me me in a hotel & his house mmm."

Correcting her wording, she added: "Meet me #fake."

The male contestants left in the show at the time were Blue's Simon Webbe, Michelle Keegan's boyfriend Mark Wright, Eastenders star Jake Wood and naturalist Steve Backshall.

Mark's rep was quick to note that he and Katie had never met before this year and that he had certainly never invited her to a hotel, with a source close to Jake saying the same. As for Simon, Katie really seemed to be rooting for him in the show, even asking viewers to vote.

So that leaves us with… Steve.

Really?!

Katie still refuses to name her mystery suitor but she claims whoever he is, he's stupid to think he can lie about her. "I still don't want to name him. But what I will say to anyone who denies something that's true, never deny it where I'm concerned. I'm honest," she told Now! magazine. "I always tell the truth and I always keep proof and backups of everything. I have a vault of evidence to prove it, if I have to."

We sense we haven't heard the end of this one!
