Gardaí in Cork are appealing for witnesses in relation to an investigation into an alleged serious sexual assault on a woman last Saturday, August 24. 

Gardaí wish to make contact with anyone who was in the Connolly Road or Vicars Road area between 4am and 7am on the morning of August 24, 2019 and noticed anything suspicious.

They are also appealing to possible motorists who may have dash-cam footage to please contact investigating Gardaí at the incident room at Togher Garda Station.

The incident allegedly occurred in the vicinity of Ballyphehane in Cork during the early hours of the Saturday morning.

Anyone with information are asked to contact the Togher Garda Station on 021-494712, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any local Garda station.

Further details have emerged regarding the stabbing attack in Dundalk, Co. Louth yesterday. 

No motive has yet been established, however terror is one line of inquiry being investigated. 

'We haven't established a motive for the murder or for the two subsequent attacks,' said a Garda spokesperson.

'We're carrying out a very intensive investigation in regards what exactly took place and why it took place.' 

An 18 year old Egyptian national has been arrested in connection with the attack. He is still being detained at Dundalk Garda station. 

Gardai are appealing for any persons that were in the Avenue Road area shortly before 9 am or on the Coes Road, Seatown Place or the Inner Relief Road areas of Dundalk between 8.30a.m and 9.40a.m to come forward.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision yesterday evening.

 

The incident occurred at the junction of Adelaide Road and Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2 at around 6pm yesterday evening.

A Saab convertible car collided with four male pedestrians, all of which were taken to hospital.

 

One of the pedestrians is described as being in a serious condition at Beaumont Hospital.

 

The female driver of the car and one pedestrian were taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital with non life threatening injuries, while a second male pedestrian was removed to Tallaght Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

 

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this collision or to any motorists with dash cam to contact Pearse St Garda Station on 01- 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a fatal car incident occurred this morning.

Gardai are investigating a single vehicle traffic collision that occurred on the N7 Naas Road outbound near Junction 2 Kingswood at approximately 6.20am this morning.

A male driver in his 20s was fatally injured when the vehicle collided with the road barrier.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries.

The road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators this morning, but has since reopened.
