Fans of Ryan Reynolds struggled to keep it together last night after they read the tribute the popular actor made to his young friend, Connor McGrath, who this week died after a three-year battle with cancer.

Honouring the 13-year-old in a heartwrenching Facebook post, Ryan wrote: "But this kid… He was smart. He was funny. And not just funny 'for a kid' – or funny 'for a person battling something awful'. He was unqualified funny. He had that… thing."

Having met Connor through the Make-A-Wish foundation, Ryan formed a strong bond with Connor which he recalled in great detail last night.

"Connor was a great friend, a great son, and a light to the people lucky enough to know him. While repeatedly punching cancer in the balls, he made everyone laugh. Including the entire staff who cared for him at Edmonton's Stollery Children's Hospital."

Explaining that Connor became a genuine friend over the past few years, Ryan wrote: "I'm grateful I got to orbit Connor's world for a brief time. Grateful for the pages and pages of hilarious texts between us. Grateful to his parents for allowing Connor to spend time with a foul-mouthed child in the body of a 39 year old."

Ryan revealed that the incredibly brave teen was the first person to see Deadpool, continuing: "I called Connor, "Bubba". And he called me "Bubba2". In a certain sense he WAS Deadpool."

"Or, at least everything Deadpool aspires to be; balancing pain, fearlessness, love and a filthy (filthy!) sense of humor in one body. I wish he could've stuck around a lot longer," he added.

Ryan signed off the touching post with a promise to see Connor in the future, writing: "See ya down the road, Bubba."

Girls, we're seriously struggling here.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are expecting their second child.

People have reported that multiple sources are confirming the news that their 16-month-old daughter will soon have a sibling.

Blake first sparked pregnancy rumours when she was spotted re-shooting scenes for her new movie The Shallows.

One insider told the website: “Blake is absolutely thrilled and so is Ryan.”

Congratulations!

No matter how many dignitaries, ambassadors, Prime Ministers and regular celebs you've met in your life, it seems all it takes is one glance from Ryan Reynolds to knock you for six.

As the daughter of US President Barack Obama, 14-year-old Sasha Obama hasn't exactly had an ordinary upbringing. But just like most teens her age (and adults, let's face it), she's a big fan of Mr. Reynolds.

And after coming face-to-face with the *disarmingly* hot actor during the Canada State Dinner at the White House last week, poor Sasha got a bit flustered.

Vancouver native Ryan attended the event with his wife Blake Lively, but found a few minutes to chat with the President's youngest daughter before sitting down to dinner.

This candid snap, which shows poor Sasha looking like she's about to melt with excitement as she chats with Ryan, has been doing the rounds on the internet all weekend.

There's just so much to love about it – Sasha's uber-starstruck face, Ryan's 'let's have a serious conversation, shall we?' expression and, of course, 17-year-old Malia Obama being the cheekiest big sister ever in the background.

She might be a bit blurred out, but there's no mistaking that massive smirk and thumbs up that Malia is throwing in her little sister's direction:

We bet the unmerciful slagging is STILL going on, four days later.

If you thought it was love at first sight between Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds then you would be very wrong.

Despite both being single when they first met on the set of the Green Lantern, the pair became good friends for an entire year before they decided to get close.

And speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ryan revealed that it took quite a while to figure out that they had real chemistry and it was probably not realised at the best moment.

"We were buddies then. I remember it was funny because for about a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and all that stuff we were both single.

"We went on a double date. She was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl.

"That was the most awkward date for their respective probably because we were just like fireworks coming across.

"It was weird at first but we were buddies for a long time. I think it's the best way to have a relationship is to start as friends."

Their poor dates!

The 39-year-old went on to discuss how he's handling being a Dad.

"Its amazing. I just always marvel how common it is and yet how profound it is.

"And I always laugh because you know celebrities you always cringe when they talk about their kids. Like 'my child is the only one that has ever exited a womb out, ever.'

"But I love it. I truly worship that kid. It's terrible. She has me so far wrapped around her finger it's dumb. She says 'dada' and I will walk through a cement wall to get to her."

Nawwh!

Famous folk have a funny way of ageing. Yes, while the rest of us mark our birthdays in a timely fashion and appear to accumulate an additional year on a strictly annual basis – celebrities are somewhat different.

They've either been knocking around forever (HOW is Kylie Jenner still only 18?) or we assume they're still young'uns when, in fact, they're well into their fifth decade (Neil Patrick Harris, 42, we're looking at you).

She's always been a major hottie (and a hottie with Ryan Reynolds on her arm too), but Blake Lively has just proven she's pretty much superwoman too.

Yes, just ten months after giving birth to daughter, James, the 28-year-old actress has been spotted filming on a beach in New South Wales.

And suffice to say that her bikini body is in tip-top order.

Donning a flattering orange top and blue patterned bottoms – both from Tory Burch – Ms Lively looked totally gorgeous.

Despite previously admitting that she 'hates' the gym, Blake did admit earlier this year that she's one of the lucky ones when it comes to keeping one eye on the bathroom scales.

"Losing weight is not something I have spent much time focusing on," Blake told the Daily Mail in April. "Your body goes through a lot after pregnancy and birth, so small, gentle workouts feel better."

Ms Lively is currently in Australia for the filming of For The Shallows, which is due for release next summer.

Ryan Reynolds suffered a tragic loss this week, with the death of his father James.

James, 74, had lived with Parkinson's Disease for the last twenty years, though Ryan did not publicly reveal this until last year.

In a moving tribute online last night, Ryan posted a picture of his father holding him as a baby with the message "RIP Pops. James C. Reynolds. 1941-2015."

Ryan asked anyone who wanted to honour his father's memory to donate to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Michael has also been living with Parkinson's since 1991.

Speaking in a November 2014 interview, Ryan – whose baby daughter James was named for the late Mr. Reynolds – admitted his dad had kept his illness quite private over the years.

"My father really hasn't ever said he has Parkinson's disease," Reynolds revealed.

"He comes from a pretty prideful generation and he doesn't really talk about it too much. But he’s maybe said it once or twice out loud."

The Canadian actor said his dad was a tough character – though never cruel.

"In a word, he was scary. Not because he was sadistic or physically abusive.

He was scary because he was one of those people with an energetic weight to him.

Shifting his weight ever so slightly from one foot to another could transform an otherwise delightful sixth birthday party into what felt like an Irish funeral."

Ryan Reynolds appeared on US chat show Live with Kelly and Michael this week to chat about his upcoming movie Mississippi Grind

However, the hosts weren't particularly interested in the movie that much, as what they really wanted to know more about was Ryan's daughter James.

And we really don't blame them because we want to know all about her too!

The actor admitted that James' first word was Mama.

"What my wife doesn't realise is that the baby calls me 'Mama' too."

Ryan also revealed that he has tattoos which he is planning to get removed.

"I have some tattoos from way back in the day," said Mr Reynolds.

"Anything you say, 'You know what? Let's put that on our body forever', you're going to have a sober second thought about it."

The 38-year-old also told Kelly and Michael that his little girl was unwell recently saying, "It was terrifying."

But Ryan kept it funny, admitting the embarrassing details of his daughter's fever.

"I was told to check her temperature…through her rectum, which for me it was like…'Nooo, it can't be'."

"There's a mouth! There's an armpit. There's got to be something!"

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds enjoy sharing romantic snaps and fun selfies on social media, but when it comes to their nine-month-old daughter, they're staunchly private.

So private, in fact, that it took over three months before the pair even revealed her name – James.

The issue of safeguarding their daughter's personal life really came to a head a few months ago, when Ryan discovered one of his closest friends had attempted to sell pictures of little James online for cash.

Speaking in the new issue of GQ, the actor admitted it was a huge betrayal from one of his closest pals.

"A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around," Ryan revealed.

"I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks."

The friend wasn't just an acquaintance, Ryan was clear to emphasise. "Somebody I grew up with, yeah…Somebody I’ve known, who’s been one of my closest friends, for 25 years."

The star couple made the discovery after photos proud dad Ryan had sent to a small group of friends and family suddenly went public.

"[He did it] just for money. I mean, I don’t think he thought he would ever be caught. But it’s a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They’re just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: ‘Here’s us in the delivery room!'" he elaborated.

Despite constantly being in the public eye, the Deadpool star said he took the incident very personally.

Thumb wrestling isn't always fair. Curiously, my hand is the small one.

"It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out."

And is there any chance of a reconciliation? No, Ryan admits.

"It’s just, ‘Oh, well, now I’m never going to see you or talk to you again, unfortunately.’ That’s kind of how it worked out."

It's been nine months since actress Blake Lively welcomed a daughter with husband Ryan Reynolds, and she's decided its time to honour the little one… in a very pricey way.

The Gossip Girl star, who has her own lifestyle and fashion site, has launched a diaper bag named after baby James.

So far, so sweet. The catch? If you want to get your hands on "Blake's baby bag" bag, made by US company Sandast, you'll need to drop a cool $860 (€765).

The James Bag comes in a deep purple or a sapphire blue shade and is made from "premium" leather with an "imported zipper from Switzerland". It's only available for purchase from Blake's site, Preserve.com and is described as being "custom made."

The new mum has become more involved with the design process for Preserve pieces of late, even helping to design a number of dresses for the site.

"I may not be able to draw worth a lick, but I am proud of this dress I co-designed with Amour Vert," she wrote back in June, sharing a picture of a white and pink Fifties-inspired outfit.

While baby James is definitely not old enough to appreciate having a bag worth hundreds of dollars named after her, we're sure she'll have many more items designed in her honour over the coming years. And hopefully they won't be quite as expensive as this first one…

New mum Blake Lively has been enjoying a working holiday over the last week as she travels around Asia, and we are loving her updates so far. Especially her most recent one, which is something a little more risqué than we are used to from the demure blonde (or bronde, as she is these days).

Taking to Instagram this morning, the Gossip Girl actress posted a close-up shot of her top half in a pink and purple bikini, showing off her noticeably larger assets. Don't worry though, those perky boobs aren't down to surgery, as Blake was quick to point out.

"The PERKS of breastfeeding #YesThatsRiceInMyHair #BlondevsBronde #BrondeJamesBronde," she wrote.

Earlier this week Blake revealed she'd (kinda) ditched her signature blonde tresses  for a 'bronde' shade – a mix of brown and blonde – and it's clear she can't get enough of her new darker locks.

With Blake's husband Ryan Reynolds staying Stateside this week due to promotional commitments for his upcoming film Deadpool, it's unclear whether baby James is travelling with her mum or her dad, but we love Blake's cute (and 'perky') reference to being a new mum all the same.

The couple have been notoriously private about their new daughter since Blake gave birth over six months ago, even choosing to keep her name a secret until months later. Although James has made a couple of appearances on Blake and Ryan's social media feeds so far, we have yet to see her (no doubt adorable) little face.

When we hear the name Ryan Reynolds the first things that we think of are “oooh yeah, he’s hot,” “his wife is SUPER hot” and “he’s so funny on Twitter.”

Sadly, his reputation as an actor comes in at a distance fourth.

When Ryan first emerged in the industry as the infamous forever-a-college-student Van Wilder, it looked as if the 38-year-old was all set for a golden career in comedy.

He then took the Hollywood rite of passage by starring in a horror flick, The Amityville Horror, which bombed as most of them usually do. Mr Reynolds followed this up with a thankful return to comedy in Just Friends and although it wasn’t well received critically, it is still a fan favourite.

The father-of-one’s career looked like it was heading back in the right direction after his massive hit starring alongside Sandra Bullock in The Proposal. It started to look as if Ryan was about to become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, with his very own superhero character in the works. But, unfortunately, that did not go quite as planned…

And so ensues the long list of movie failures that comprises Ryan Reynold’s film career.

It is unfortunate that he is gaining this reputation because he has proved himself to be a worthy actor, and with his devilish charm, handsome good looks and incredible sense of humour, the public absolutely adore him.

It would appear that while the unlucky actor has talent in many areas of his life, choosing a film script isn’t one of them. And with a name attached to a whole host of flops, the chances of getting his hands on a decent project becomes slimmer and slimmer.

However, the Canadian heartthrob is maybe, HOPEFULLY, about to experience an upswing (we are choosing to overlook the sure-to-be bomb, Self/less that comes out today) with his upcoming film, Deadpool.

While we have yet to see a trailer for the anti-hero flick that is based on a video game, the initial test footage looks like it could well be a hit.

And if his performance is anything like the wonderfully weird portrayal of the adorable mentally ill serial killer that he gave in the totally underrated The Voices, we can definitely envision Ryan climbing his way back to the top.
