Earlier this year, on the eve of International Women’s day, ‘Fearless Girl’ was installed on New York’s Wall Street.

The bronze statue stands at 50-inches tall and depicts a little girl with her hands on her hips staring down the ’Charging Bull’ which has stood in the financial district since 1987.

The stunt was praised by women’s groups around the world and a petition to allow the artwork to remain gathered more than 19,000 signatures.

In response, mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio announced the statue had been granted permission to stay until February 2018.

However, Arturo Di Modica, the artist who created the famous ‘Charging Bull’ has now accused New York City of violating his legal rights by allowing the opposing statue to be installed.

According to The Independent, the sculptor referred to the statue an 'advertising trick' and claimed it had infringed on his own artistic copyright by changing the creative dynamic of the original piece.

Di Modica and his lawyer, Norman Siegel, are expected to hold a new conference on Wednesday where they will explain how and why they will challenge the city officials who allowed the statue to remain.

'Fearless Girl' has been a popular addition to New York's streets and fans of the art aren't letting her go without a fight.

Oh, and while we have you; don't forget to have your say in the inaugural SHEmazing Awards this May! It's time to vote, and you can do it right here!

It looks like Daryl Dixon is officially off the market, ladies.

The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus is all loved up with actress Diane Kruger, and they took to the streets of New York to show off their, erm… affection.

According to E! News, Norman and Diane went out on date night during the week where they went to a bar and hung out there for four hours.

When they left they bar they were all smiles and according to eye witnesses, they "made out for half an hour" on the streets, before heading off to another pub.

"They looked like they had a great time!" the eye witness said.

Norman and Diane have been sparking romance rumours for several months now, after first being spotted in Barcelona together.

They first met on the set of Sky in 2015.

We are kinda, sorta, totally loving this new romance!

The struggle is real.

With house prices going up, bills coming through the door everyday and an abundance of sh*tty rooms going for colossal amounts of money, renting is no easy feat.

However, this couple living in New York managed to get away with not paying rent for SIX years. Yep, six whole freaking years.

The New York Post reports that Zachary Bennett and Karen Nourse have refused to pay rent on their swanky apartment since 2010, and they might actually get away with it.

The parents-of-two were struggling to keep up with their $4,754-a-month (€4,500-a-month) rent, so they decided to just not pay it.

You're probably wondering how they weren't kicked out, but there's actually a regulation in New York called 'Loft Law' which can protect NYC-based residents who are living illegally in commercial or factory buildings.

How one couple managed to live rent free in an amazing New York attic apartment for SIX YEARS

And the place where Zachary and Karen live is full of businesses, from galleries to industrial equipment shops. In fact, they are the only people who actually live in the building.

So, when they were clued in about the 'Loft Law' in 2010, that was it, they didn't pay another cent. And didn't even get called out on it.

But now, the owners of the building are trying to reclaim the $410,000 that Karen and Zachary owe them in missed payments.

According to Cosmo, the couple's lawyer is confident they won't have to pay up, saying: "The owner is not entitled to collect rent and my clients are not required to pay it."

Anyone fancy moving to New York now…?

Having quickly become a staple in beauty bags across the nation, it’s no surprise that Cocoa Brown’s product range is continuing to expand.

Following the launch of The Goddess Collection in Dundrum TC this week, the Dublin based tanning company has announced that it is spreading its roots across the Atlantic by opening its first New York office.

In a post which appeared on Instagram yesterday, brand founder Marissa Carter wrote: “By the end of next week we’ll have our US company incorporated!  The #CocoaBrown #NewYork office will open January 2017.”

Speaking about the venture to Goss.ie, the beauty entrepreneur explained that a Manhattan base for Cocoa Brown “makes sense” because “New York is the hotspot for global PR and marketing activities”.

We wish Cocoa Brown furthered success in the US.

A little after 11.30am local time from the New Yorker Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, a clearly deflated but nevertheless resolute Hillary Clinton delivered her concession speech.

And it was tinged with heartfelt words of passion which moved many around her to tears.

In the aftermath of a defeat that shocked the world, her address marked the first time that the 69-year-old politician publicly reached out to her supporters.

Walking out onto the stage in the last hour, Ms Clinton was surrounded by continued applause and warm shouts of support.

As she called her Democratic nomination, “one of the greatest honours of my life,” her voice faltered with emotion.

“I am sorry that we did not win this election for the values we hold and the vision we share for this country,” she stated.

And though she admitted that “our nation is more deeply divided than we thought,” she reiterated that “the American dream is big enough for all of us”.

She furthermore highlighted America’s “cherished” peaceful transferral of power, and said that President-elect Trump should be afforded “an open mind and a chance to lead”.

Indeed, drawing on the reality TV star’s own wording during his victory speech, early in her address she had stated that she hoped Donald would indeed “be a successful president for all Americans”.

“We poured our hearts into this campaign,” Clinton uttered, adding that she had spent her "entire adult life fighting for what I believe in".

Turning her attentions to the younger people of America – a group which had overwhelmingly leant its support to her campaign – she said: "I’ve had successes and I’ve had set backs – many really painful ones.

"You will have successes and set backs too but never stop believing that fighting for what is right is worth it."

Before her arrival on stage, a tearful-looking former vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine, 58, emerged alongside his wife, Anne.

Talking to the crowd, he spoke of how Hillary “has been and is a history maker in everything she has done.”

“I’m proud of Hillary because she loves this country,” Kaine stated, highlighting that she had been “in battles before”.

“She’ll be in battles again,” he said, later adding: “Til her very last breath she’s going to be battling for the values that she believes in.”

Ms Clinton had planned to speak to the crowd at the Jacob Javits Center during the night.

However, when it became clear that her loss was all but inevitable only her animated campaign manager, John Podesta, appeared telling the shocked and dismayed gathering that there would be no comment until the morning.

Still, he managed to be positive. "We will be back, and we will have more to say," he announced. "Let's get those votes counted, and let's bring this home."

President-elect Donald Trump, who himself seemed surprised at the convincing nature of his win (a win which defied almost every poll published in advance of voting) had addressed his own supporters at around 3am at the city's Hilton hotel.

An hour later he called on his presidential rival to concede defeat – although he did say that America owed her "a major debt of gratitude for her debt to our country".

Clinton had secured 228 electoral votes compared to Trumps’ victorious 279. She did nab important swing states such as Virginia, Nevada, and Colorado, but the former Apprentice boss locked down Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida to storm to victory.

It was the first televised debate between US presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump – so understandably tensions were high.

As Americans (along with curious bystanders around the world) watched-on intently, the two politicians bashed it out over an intense 90-minute discussion held at Hofstra University just outside New York.

In the aftermath, numerous commentators agreed that while Trump started strongly, he quickly spiralled out of control – becoming increasingly defensive and chaotic in the face of Clinton's cool and controlled demeanour.

With hardened moderator Lester Holt directing proceedings, the Republican nominee was forced to angrily defended himself against charges of racism, sexism and tax avoidance.

Trump saw his biggest hits come courtesy of trade deal issues and Hillary's own political record, but the former Apprentice star nevertheless appeared under-prepared for a stage of such magnitude.

Here are are some of the main issue that the candidates disagreed on…

1) On being president of the United States

TRUMP: "She doesn't have the stamina."

CLINTON: "As soon as he travels to 112 different countries and negotiates a peace deal, a cease-fire… or even when he stands in front of a congressional committee for 11 hours straight, he can talk to me about stamina."

2) On creating and supporting jobs

TRUMP: "Our jobs are fleeing the country."

CLINTON: "We have to build an economy that works for everyone – not just those at the top."

3) On the economy

TRUMP: "Under my plan I will be reducing taxes tremendously – from 35 percent to 15 per cent for companies; small and big businesses. It's going to be a beautiful thing to watch."

CLINTON: "The kind of plan that Donald has put forth would be trickle-down economics all over again. I call it 'Trumped up; trickled down.'"

4) On the issue of Barack Obama's birth-cert

TRUMP: "I was the one who got him to produce the birth certificate – and I think I did a good job."

CLINTON: "He started his political activity based on this racist lie that our first black president was not an American citizen."

5) On taxes:

TRUMP: "I will release my tax returns, against my lawyers' wishes, when she releases her 33,000 emails that have been deleted. As soon as she releases them I will release my tax returns."

CLINTON: "Maybe he doesn't want the American people – all of you watching tonight – to know that he's paid nothing in federal taxes. That means zero for troops; zero for Vets. Because there's something he's hiding."

6) On track-records:

TRUMP: "Hillary has experience – but it's bad experience."

CLINTON: "This is a man who's called women pigs, slobs, and dogs."

Yesterday the world was left reeling by the news that Angelina Jolie had filed for divorce from Brad Pitt.

And while the Internet reacted by flooding Twitter with Jennifer Aniston memes, Adele marked the end of one of Hollywood’s most valued romances by dedicating her show to those involved.

Speaking to the crowd at her Madison Square Garden concert last night, the Hello singer declared: “I need to address the elephant in the room – that Brangelina broke up.”

Describing the high profile split as “the end of an era”, the Grammy winner said: “I’m dedicating this show tonight to them.”

“I don’t know them at all,” she admitted.  “But I was shocked when I woke up this morning, no word of a lie.”

As the crowd laughed, she finished by saying: “I’m glad I spoke about that because it was playing on my mind.”

Yours and ours both, Adele.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have been busying working at the moment but that doesn't mean they can't have date night!

The couple were spotted heading to the popular New York spot Catch last night, and Miley just couldn't look happier.

Walking hand in hand, Liam had a more serious approach when the papz were snapping his picture, but Miley was beaming with delight as she walked beside her man.

Even though the smitten pair have not confirmed their engagement, Miley has been sporting the engagement ring Liam gave to her prior to their 2013 breakup.

It's also been widely reported that the reunited pair are planning to marry soon after rekindling their romance last year.

We think it's a tad funny that Jennifer Lopez broke up with her boyfriend because he went to watch Conor McGregor's fight.

Whether it's true or not, as Irish women, it's something we can all relate to.

However, according to TMZ, Caster Smart is totally in denial that J Lo ended their relationship.

Insiders say that the pair are still close and their relationship is amicable, but Jen insists that they're no longer a couple.

Casper flew to meet Jen in New York where she's filming a TV show, so it looks like he's not giving up on her anytime soon.
