In one of the most exciting beauty announcements of the year (we know we're only two weeks in, but still) MAC has teamed up with a host of high-end beauty influencers to create a social media-styled collection.

10 Instagram beauty bloggers from across the globe will debut their own custom MAC lipstick shades this April.

Influencers are now as popular as top models and celebrities, with leading makeup gurus accumulating millions of followers on Instagram.

Bloggers like Samantha Maria, Tanya Burr and Zoella Sugg have caused makeup products to sell-out after featuring them on their YouTube channels, so it makes sense that MAC would want to team up with such a commodifiable group of beauty lovers.

MAC revealed the face of one of their chosen influencers, Fleur de Force, who has over one-and-a-half million YouTube subscribers.

"It's beyond amazing to have been asked to collaborate with MAC, both because I adore the brand personally, but also for MAC to be acknowledging bloggers in this way. It's their first ever collaboration with influencers, and I feel so honoured to be part of it," the makeup guru wrote on her blog.

The lipstick colours will be named after them, with a hashtag added of course, featuring the bloggers' names, like #MACxFleurDeForce.

So far, it has been revealed that Fleur de Force will be joined by makeup artists Gabriel Zamora and Laura Lee, Kuwaiti influencer TheRealFouz, and Glamour UK Beauty Director Alessandra Steinherr.

MAC was one of the first brands to recognise the potential in social media influencers, and launched a "Bloggers' Favourites" collaboration with nine social media-savvy MUAs back in 2011.

MAC Cosmetics' range is known for its highly-pigmented, creamy and vanilla-scented lipsticks.

Many shades have become cult products, and the makeup moguls at MAC have decided to immortalise them in scent.

Shades like Ruby Woo, Velvet Teddy, Candy Yum-Yum, Heroine, Lady Danger and Creme de Nude have all been chosen for the collection.

The MAC Shadescents are designed to capture the personality of your favourite lippie.

The collection plays on the concept of synaesthesia; the mixing up of the senses that allows some people to see sounds or hear colour – or smell colour, in this case.

Ruby Woo will be inspired by "deep red leather" (sounds very Fifty Shades) while Candy Yum-Yum will be reminiscent of fairground candyfloss.

"We have a fanbase attached to certain lipstick shades," MAC's senior vice president and group creative director, James Gager, explained to Elle.

When developing a concept for a new scent collection, the creative directors were inspired by their existing shades rather than going with a celebrity face or novelty gimmick.

The scents are dropping on December 8, just in time for Christmas.

OK, please try not to panic, but MAC's latest celebrity collaboration has been revealed, and it is NEXT LEVEL.

Dubbed the "Songbird Supreme" collection, the beauty giant has teamed up with pop diva Mariah Carey to create the golden and glittery collection of your dreams.

Each product in this amazing festive collection is named after something that is distinctly Mariah, such as album names.

FOR EXAMPLE there is a gorgeous lipstick named "All I want", after her hit Chrimbo number one (genius right?).

The collection includes stunning lipsticks, lipglosses, eyeshadows, blushersand much more… all wrapped up in gorgeous champagne-coloured packaging.

Oh the OPULENCE of it all!

This collection, which launches on Maccosmetics.com on December 8 and in stores the following week.

We want one of everything Santa, thank you kindly!

After teasing it for more than a year, Mariah Carey's holiday collection is nearly here.

And trust us, it's everything you imagined: sparkle, glitter and diamonds.

The collection is absolutely perfect for Christmas; gold and bronze eye shadows, sparkly lipstick and a smashing bronzer – we're even in love with the glitter packaging.

The singer took to Twitter to share the glimpse of her new range.

She wrote: "I'm so excited to finally share my full @MACcosmetics collection – coming in December. Add it to your holiday wish list #MACMariahCarey."

We'll admit, we'll be buying one or two bits from the collection for our Chrimbo nights out.

Being one of the most recognisable brands in the cosmetics world, it’s no surprise that M.A.C. employs some of the industry’s most talented makeup artists.

But while M.A.C. counters are pretty much everyone’s go-to for a solid smoky eye and a decent spot of contour, behind the scenes its MUAs are working on some incredibly creative projects.

With Halloween just around the corner, the “MacSeniorArtist” hashtag is throwing up some pretty impressive costume ideas on Instagram.

From creepy clowns and withered hags to bejewelled sea creatures and movie-worthy aliens, check out some of our favourite M.A.C. looks below.

• HALLOWEEN IS COMING • repost from @stephanie_montes Yesterday I did this makeup on the lovely Stephanie for the @thezoereport Facebook Live page. • HALLOWEEN • last one of these! Close up of mine. I'd love to see this on a dark skin, change it all to real skin tone as a base, but have all the details bronze, chocolate, gold, copper instead of Pearl and white. Rich dark chocolate brown lipstick on the lips, with #ReflectsBronze pressed on top. The last touch – have a friend blow #reflectsgold over the entire face! Someone do it and tag me!! Every makeup fanatic knows the sadness that comes with smudging a brand new product for the first time.

But thankfully that shameful feeling could soon be confined to the past as the cosmetic gods have finally gifted us with magnetic eyeshadow.

MAC’s Spellbinder shadows have been magnetised to prevent eyeshadow fallout and will keep the pigments looking picture perfect in their pots no matter how many times you use them.

As demonstrated in the following clip, magnets beneath the product allow the shadow to simply be pushed back into its original wave shape after use so that it always retains its untouched look.

A spokesperson for the brand told The Huffington Post that the Spellbinder range will be available in the UK from December 1, but will only run for a limited period of eight weeks.

The shadows – which come in cobalt blue, cool teal, warm olive, vivid emerald, deep amethyst, rich chocolate, smoky quartz and metallic bronze shades – will go on sale in the US later this month.

There’s nothing like a new candle to help a home make the reluctant transition from Summer to Autumn/Winter.

But while the darker evenings already have us craving rhubarb and blackberry-type scents, we can’t say we’ve ever wished our rooms smelled like laptops.

A South Carolinian Apple accessory store is selling “New Mac” scented candles to help people get their favourite computer smell without actually having to invest in another MacBook.

As random they are, the unique candles – which contain hints of mint, peach, basil, lavender, mandarin and sage – have been a huge hit with Twelve South’s customers, with the first batch of New Mac scents selling out in just one day.

According to the store’s website, the $24 soy wax candles will be back in stock later this month.

The world of lipstick is a big one. In Shemazing! HQ, we probably have about 50 shades of nude between us.

And with the likes of Urban Decay having 100 shades of lippy in their collection, you'd think just about every colour has been covered.

But alas, MAC is here to shake things up again by launching 24 brand new hues.

The Liptensity Lipstick range includes colours like black, blue-grey, plum pink, deep rose, brown, lilac and more.

The range will launch in MAC stores and online on September 29.

We don't know about you, but we kinda want them all.

Considering MAC smash everything from lipstick lines to special collections it is no great surprise that the brand's cosmetic counters are always buzzing.

But have you ever wondered what kind of juicy insider secrets you would learn while working for the makeup giant?

Buzzfeed Style recently rounded up a long list of MAC employee secrets, so we've picked out our favourite eight just for you:

1. MAC staff get a pretty decent discount:

As anyone who’s ever worked a retail job will know, people are always mad to know what kind of discount you get and for MAC employees, it’s pretty hefty indeed.  MAC staff can reportedly get up to 60 percent off the brand’s products as well as a monthly allowance to spend in store.

2. And once a year they can get whatever they want for FREE:

MAC’s annual gratis is a time when staff members can order a selection of their favourite products for free.  The actual dream.

3. But in fairness you’d want a helping hand if you had to wear makeup ALL of the time.

There’s no taking a makeup free day if you work at MAC because the MAC MUA’s are expected to wear a full face of makeup all of the time.  If you’re working in-store and aren’t seen to be wearing enough product, you will be asked to apply more.

4.  So how do they keep themselves fresh faced on the floor all day?

A good spritz of Fix + is how.  MAC’s must have refreshing mist is a bit of a cult beauty product as this lightweight water-based spray helps keep the face hydrated while giving fading makeup the boost it needs.

5. Which must have product is impossible to get hold of?

The brand's most in demand product is the Soar lip liner thanks to Kylie Jenner.  Back before Kylie Cosmetics began breaking the Internet on a daily basis the reality star also recommended MAC's Whirl liner.

6. Six MAC empties do equal a free lipstick.

So be sure to hold on to those bad boys.

7. They know their stuff:

You can't just wander in off the street and land a job in MAC – you've got to earn those benefits.  While some staff members were trained by MAC and others learned their trade elsewhere, everyone working in MAC is a qualified makeup artist.

8. Oh, there is one more perk…

There comes a time in every girl's life when they feel like they're stuck in a rut. Hell, I feel like I'm always stuck in a rut.

When it comes to clothes and make-up, if you wear the same thing for too long, it ends up feeling boring and unoriginal, so that's why we're happy to hear that in August, MAC is releasing not one new collection, but two new collections. And they are both very, very different.

For a while now we've been hearing about the Good Luck Trolls collaboration, and it's honestly our 90s dreams coming true.

Arriving in stores is an array of new lipsticks (which include lime green and powder blue tones), eyeshadow, beauty powder and glitter, pigments and more.

But as well as our beloved Trolls arriving in store, the new Brant Brothers collection is also flying in.

The complete opposite of the Trolls collection, the Brant Brothers set is way more fashion-forward and includes dark and moody shades, as well as a few new products for make-up removal.

Mmm hmm, it seems like we're getting the best of both worlds from MAC this season.

Both collections are available online and in Brown Thomas and BT2 from August.

If you're nostalgic for the 90s, then you're going to love the latest MAC collaboration.

The cosmetics brand announced their limited-edition line with the Good Luck Troll Dolls. Remember them?

We both loved them and found them super creepy.

According to Allure, Mac's vice president said: "The Good Luck Trolls have evoked love and joy since the 1960s. We are so happy we can put the spotlight on them again. MAC Cosmetics celebrates pop culture and fantasy – and brings these enchanting characters to life – through this eclectic, bright-hued collection."

The collection will include eyeshadows, lipsticks and powders – all in very vibrant colours much like the dolls' hair.

Now, can we have a Beanie Babies collaboration, because that would just be fab.
