Before Beyoncé began slaying it on the stage, there was the iconic voice and moves of Aretha Franklin.

The whole world has been holding their breath since the legendary singer fell “gravely ill.”

The 76-year-old was recently put in hospice care at her home, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Beyoncé, as one of the singer’s biggest fans, has been especially affected by the news.

While on tour with her husband Jay-Z, they performed in the Queen of Soul’s hometown of Detroit, Michigan.

Surrounded by so much love for the iconic singer, Beyoncé had to take a moment to recognise the tragic situation.

She dedicated her performance on Monday to Aretha Franklin, and the crowd responded with a roar of applause in tribute.

“We love you,” the young artist spoke for Aretha fans everywhere.

Beyoncé also thanked the soulful singer for her “beautiful music”, reported Detroit Free Press.

There were over 40,000 people present at the concert in Ford Field, and they all cheered along as DJ Khaled played “Respect” at the beginning of the performance.

The Press also pointed out that Ford Field is just down the street from Aretha Franklin Way, which was dedicated to the legendary singer just last summer.

The heartwarming tribute acted as a “passing of the torch” from one generation of singers to the next.

However, no one will ever compare to the “Natural Woman” that has carved the way for African-American, female singers everywhere.

Other celebrities continue to pour out their love and prayers for the ailing artist.

Mariah Carey recently tweeted: “Praying for the Queen of Soul” with a classic photo of the singer.

Missy Elliot also urged fans: “We MUST CELEBRATE the Living Legends while they are here to see it.”

We continue to wait for news of Aretha’s condition, but we are happy that she has her family beside her and overwhelming support from her fans during this difficult time.

''Why does it always raaainn on meeeee….''

Yes, get ready for a blast of '90s post-Britpop nostalgia as Travis head to Dublin later this year.

They're bringing The Man Who album back to our Fair City, where they first performed it way back in 1999.

The band will play a special show at the Olympia Theatre on Sunday, 9th December.

The album was the biggest selling UK album in 2000, spent 11 weeks at Number 1, and gave us songs like Driftwood, Turn and their iconic tune, Why Does It Always Rain On Me.

“Songs are like emotional bookmarks in time,” frontman Fran Healy said.

“When you hear a song you are transported to those times and feel strong echoes of the feelings you felt. Rarely does an album have this ability so performing.''

Singer/guitarist Fran Healy, bassist Dougie Payne, guitarist Andy Dunlop and drummer Neil Primrose will be bringing you right back to the era of practically non-existent eyebrows, platform shoes and slip dresses over t-shirts.

Tickets from €44.05 go on sale this Friday 17th August at 9am via Ticketmaster.

Pink has been touring the world with her two children, which just shows how much of a true lady boss she is.

However, the singer has had to defend herself when she was papped on a beach, (SIGH).

As if she hadn't enough to contend with between being a mum and a rockstar.

A post shared by P!NK (@pink) on

The star penned the reality of balancing both in the midst of cancelling an Australian concert after being ill and receiving criticism from an unknown publication.

The shot shows the 38-year-old on a beach with her daughter, Willow and the headline reads: "Pink's Sydney Concert cancelled as she chills in Byron Bay."

In a lengthy response on Instagram, the mum told fans that the picture didn’t show you the difficulty she had “trying to do what was best for my children, while also putting on the best and most physically demanding and beautiful show of my life.”

The picture she said also didn’t depict the fact that she had been “sick twice.”

A post shared by P!NK (@pink) on

The singer still managed to be a super mum and push through the first time the illness struck despite her demanding schedule.

Pink explained just how hard the second time around had been and how that snapshot couldn’t have ever have shown fans the truth behind the mum’s life:

”This time, what these parasite paparazzi don’t show you, is two doctor visits in Byron on two consecutive days, antibiotics, steroids, Vick’s, nose spray, throat spray, more steroids, NyQuil, a screaming baby in the middle of the night, every night, while mama gives him warm baths and tells her daughter everything is fine," she wrote.

A post shared by P!NK (@pink) on

Defending herself, she said that she “never taken advantage of anyone” and she mothers “with everything I have whilst handling all the rest.”

To conclude her post, she addressed the cancellation of the show and how her friends came to her rescue entertaining her daughter whilst she was attempting to get better.

"I’m doing the absolute best I can, and you can believe it or not. What they don’t show you in this picture is me drinking water and lying down while my friends try to entertain my seven-year-old,” she said.

A post shared by P!NK (@pink) on

The incredible mum added that she will be going ahead with her show the following day, “whether I’m better or not” and the cancelled show will be rescheduled.

Other stars were quick to comment messages of support for the singer, including fellow parent and performer, Justin Timberlake.

A post shared by Justin Timberlake (@justintimberlake) on

The 37-year-old shared nothing but praise for Pink in the comment section by saying:

"You won't find a harder working, more authentically talented, and more thankful for her place on that stage and her fans than this woman."

"Now…as a parent on tour as well, and an artist who LOVES their fans just as much and wants to give them an unprecedented experience, and is currently battling an injury, a sinus infection and trying to be the Dad I want to be too?? I say HATS OFF to you my friend."

Justin who shared the stage twice with Pink during her tour finished off by wishing her a speedy recovery.

It's time people cut working mums some slack and not be so quick to jump to conclusions.

Get well soon Pink!

As if we needed another reason to love Taylor Swift even more!

During her performance in Philadelphia Saturday night, the young popstar encountered show-stopping technical difficulties.

As a part of her dynamic performances, the singer is usually transferred to different stages throughout the show. This time, however, she was left floating above the crowd. Taylor was being lifted into the air on a platform when it halted to a stop.

She told fans, “I'm pretty sure I'm stuck up here […] It's supposed to take me to the other side of the stadium.”

The experienced performer remained calm and positive about the mishap, commenting on how nice the view was from her position. After a few moments, the singer decided to take control of the situation.

Descending the stairs down to the main stage, Taylor sang two songs acapella until the technical glitch was fixed. She smartly chose the fan favourites of “Our Song” and “Wildest Dreams,” and the audience sang along delighted with the surprise.

This was the first time the singer encountered any problems during her world tour performances, and Swifties went wild for her impromptu songs! Fans flooded twitter with their admiration for Taylor, saying she kept things professional and handled the situation brilliantly.

Taylor’s response during the set malfunction impressed all concert attendees in Philadelphia. The tour will continue across the States with no delays.

Nice job, Taylor. We can't wait for your next performance!

Singer Chris Brown was arrested last night in Florida, where he was performing as part of a nationwide tour.

The 29-year-old was in the US and scheduled to perform at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, however, at this point, it's unclear whether he was actually arrested before or after the concert (we presume it wasn't during the show!).

According to various reports, Brown was arrested on an outstanding out-of-county warrant from last year. There's no word on what the warrant was actually for but reportedly Brown was arrested and released after he posted bail the same evening.

A post shared by CHRIS BROWN (@chrisbrownofficial) on

He is no stranger to run-ins with the law; in 2009 he was arrested and charged with physical assault charges following an incident with his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. As a result of the assault, he was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats in that incident, and received five years probation and community service.

He was also arrested in 2013 after an alleged incident in a hotel in Washington and kicked out of rehab that same year for smashing his mother's car window during a family session.

Brown has yet to comment on last night's arrest.

We imagine Pete Davidson landed himself in Grande's bad books after the joke he made about the Manchester Bombings.

It's pretty obvious why people were upset at the 'joke' made by Ariana Grande's fiancé.

The poorly tasted joke was made during a stand-up gig before he met the Dangerous Woman singer.

Fans were quick to call for Ariana to break-up with Davidson, in light of the joke.

In the midst of the controversy, the singer's lips were sealed- until now.

Taking to Twitter, Ariana said that it had been 'very tough and conflicting' for her heart.

Defending her husband-to-be the 25-year-old said he uses his humour to help people to feel better, but she didn't find the joke funny.

She concluded by reassuring fans that his intentions weren't malicious, but – "it was unfortunate."

The Manchester Bombings claimed the lives of 22 people.

The devastating incident occurred in May 2017 at Grande's concert.

Those closest to Pete told Peoplethat his comments had been "taken out of context."

Whether or not that is true, it seems like Ariana won't be breaking it off with the comedian any time soon.

I've been a Macklemore fan for years, ever since he played to a crowd of 200 people in The Twisted Pepper in 2011.

And obviously, he's come a long way since then, and I couldn't be happier for him.

The platinum selling artist played in Dublin last night, to a massive crowd in the 3 Arena, and I went along.

I didn't go with the intention of writing an article, however, it was quite the experience… an experience worth sharing.

So I arrived at around 8.30pm (standard) and was greeting by a very large crowd of teenagers, and a handful of Gardai keeping the peace.

Not an easy job, let me tell you.

Anyway, myself and my pal went in and situated ourselves among the standing crowd, getting reasonably close to the stage.

At 9pm, the show began, and from the very minute Macklemore came on stage, he was incredible.

I'm telling you now, there are very few artists around these days who have the same levels of energy and enthusiasm.

He captivates an audience like no other, despite the fact that the audience was made up of 10,000 17 year olds, pissed as rats.

He performed music from his numerous albums, including Downtown, Glorious and of course, Irish Celebration

He spoke about his love for Ireland, his Irish heritage, and how Dublin is his favourite place to perform – and I genuinely believed him.

Taking in the magic. Dublin, 3 Arena. Night 1. : @rjmckinnon

A post shared by Ben Haggerty (@macklemore) on

He donned an Irish jersey, waved the tricolour, and put on one hell of a show.

However, as I stood there taking in the greatness, it hit me – I am officially old.

Now listen, I'm 26, and I know I'm not old, old, but the days of tiny shorts, scoring the face of random fellas and getting drunk on a Wednesday are well and truly behind me.

And I'm not sure how to feel.

I genuinely felt like an old fart at the concert, despite the fact that I've been a fan of Macklemore for years (back when the majority of the crowd were making their confirmation).

Anyway, it brought me back to my school days, and despite the fact that they were all HUGELY irritating, I felt very nostalgic.

I don't think I  realised how much I missed being young and carefree, no job to worry about, no bills to pay, and no worries about being an adult.

Back when I was a teen, my biggest worries were my boyfriend at the time, what I was going to wear to Wezz (HA) and whether or not I could drink a whole naggin.

Of course, I WAS that annoying girl at concerts who a little bit too drunk, annoying the handful of adults that braved the event.

And that made me think a little, and lessened my desire to flip the lid at all the young ones.

I was 16, too, and I loved every second of it.

It actually seemed fitting when Macklemore launched into Good Old Days – I even welled up a little.

Irish Celebration in Ireland

"I wish somebody would have told me babe, some day, these will be the good old days."

"'Cause someday soon, your whole life's gonna change, you'll miss the magic of the good old days."

Too bloody right pal.

My point is, despite the fact that the crowd of drunken teens were killing my buzz, we've all been there.

I kept reminding myself that they're making memories, the stories they'll still be talking about in ten years.

When they're old farts, just like me.

Okay, real talk!

Earlier this week, one of the music industry's most influential couples, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, announced a global stadium tour.

The super duo are due to perform at 36 venues across the US and Europe, including stops in Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester and London.

And while we are beyond excited that super star couple are heading back on the road, there's just one thing we can't wrap our heads around – where's the Dublin date?

With that, we're calling on the Beyhive of Ireland to come together and convince the Carters to grace us with their presence this summer!

Make your voice heard by signing the petition below, (or by clicking here) and if we achieve our goal, we'll reach out to Jay and Bey!
