Kate Garraway has opened up about her day-to-day life now amid caring for her husband Derek.

The Good Morning Britain host has been Derek’s carer since he became seriously ill after getting Covid-19 at the beginning of 2020.

Derek has been in and out of hospital since having the virus and Kate has now shared details of his recovery, three years on, revealing that her husband’s condition means they’re ‘living on a rollercoaster’.

While speaking to Good Housekeeping, Kate admitted, “I’d love to be able to tell you that, since Derek has been home, everything has been easy, that the miracle of him being at home has turned the day-to-day challenges into a breeze, but because we keep having emergency setbacks and he’s had to be rushed back into hospital so many times, the fear of him dying has never left us”.

“The unpredictability of his day-to-day condition means we’re living on a rollercoaster”.

Kate then spoke about her new book, The Strength Of Love, where she shares an insight into their hopes for the future, struggles and hardships over the past few years.

“I can’t promise to have all the answers – my struggle is a work in progress – but in the book, I’ve shared what has helped me so far and things that have set me on a happier path”.

“I’ve tried to keep things hopeful, but I’ve also written about the darker moments, too”.

Garraway then reflected on positive times during Derek’s ongoing recovery, explaining, “When Derek was in a coma, I played music down the phone to him, including lots of Elton John. So, when we managed to get Derek to see him live at the O2, it felt like a miracle”.

“As he’s trapped in bed and at home for days on end, being able to do something like that energised him, even if just for the few hours he was there”.

The 56-year-old went on to reveal how she cares for herself while being a carer for Derek.

“I’ve been experimenting with ways to take control of my own happiness. I now deliberately carve out time to give myself the gift of doing something that only helps me”.

“It might be only 10 minutes of something physical, such as stretching, pottering in the garden with a mug of tea, or reading something not related to work. And I’ve put some fun girls’ nights in the diary with Charlotte Hawkins, Ranvir Singh and Susanna Reid”.

Davide Sanclimenti has hit back at allegations that he cheated on his girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

The former Love Island champion, who won the show with Ekin-Su, recently attended an event in Manchester, which was also attended by Harriet Wilson.

Rumours had previously circulated that Ekin-Su had allegedly accused Davide of cheating on her with the model. The speculation follows on from Ekin-Su and Davide announcing their breakup in June, before quietly getting back together two months later.

Following reports in the media of Davide and Harriet attending the same event, the Italian model has now come out and denied the cheating allegations.

Last night, the 28-year-old took to his Instagram stories and posted a video, which included a canvas photo of himself and Ekin-Su behind him.

“This is actually disgusting now, and I feel I need to say something. Not just because I am really happy with things between me and Ekin are going – I know that much is obvious between me and her,” he began.

Credit: Davide Sanclimenti Instagram

“First of all, Ekin knew I was going to be there. Ekin knows I have a close relationship with the owner of that restaurant, so I was going to be there, regardless of the fact that I was enjoying some time with my friends, as I am allowed to do,” Davide explained, adding that the couple are “totally fine”.

Davide went on to address the cheating allegations, noting that he “cannot control who decides to come in and go out of the restaurant.”

“So, if someone decides to take a picture out of the restaurant, with inside 300 or 400 people… I really pushed myself to try and find a correlation for which this person must be partying with me, but I genuinely cannot find this correlation,” he insisted.

Davide later confessed: “I can’t go out with the paranoia that someone is taking a picture, not even next to someone else, and then try to sell the story that I was there with the person.”

Davide concluded his response by detailing: “This person is in a happy relationship with someone else, as I am in a happy relationship with Ekin.”

Perfection takes time, over a century in fact. And for all the Irish pasta lovers out there, Heinz has finally extended its tomato expertise by announcing its new, award-winning Pasta Sauce varieties, available in seven delicious, high-quality, ready to use recipes.

Made it Italy and using the same great tasting, quality, tomatoes that Heinz lovers have come to expect, the new Heinz Pasta Sauce range includes:

  • Tomato Sauce for Bolognese (vegan)
  • Sundried Cherry Tomato & Basil (vegan)
  • Tomato & Chilli (vegan)
  • Tomato, Mushroom & Bell Pepper (vegan)
  • Tomato & Lentil Ragu (vegan)
  • Mediterranean Veggies & Chunky Tomatoes (vegan)
  • Tomato, Grana Padano & Mascarpone (not suitable for vegans or vegetarians)

Straight from the fields of Italy to the jars, each pasta sauce has been made using Heinz’s sun-ripened tomatoes, with 100% natural ingredients and absolutely no added sugar, providing 1 of your 5 a day.

Elaine McCague, Head of Heinz Ireland (Interim), said: “While it might have taken us over 150 years to enter the pasta sauce world, all good things take time, and ridiculously good things take even longer.

“We know that time pressures are ever increasing across Irish households, so our new range has been created to help provide pasta lovers with delicious restaurant-quality dishes in just a matter of minutes. Perfect for your very own ‘vine’- dining experience at home, with a good bowl of comforting pasta and an even better sauce.”

Discussing Heinz’s tomato know-how, Elaine continues: “When it comes to tomatoes, it just has to be Heinz. Ever since our founder Henry J. Heinz first grew the seeds for the tomatoes that would become a staple in Heinz products across the world – from our iconic Heinz Tomato Ketchup to our new Heinz Pasta Sauces – we’ve been truly in love with our tomatoes.

“As he said, “To improve the quality of a food product on the shelf, you must improve the quality of the produce in the ground”, which is why we’ve combined our unrivalled tomato expertise with natural ingredients, creating probably the best pasta sauce you’ve ever tasted, even if we are 150 years late. But we hope you’ll all agree that it’s been well worth the wait.”

The launch of the Pasta Sauces range is part of Kraft Heinz’s larger transformation to bring insight-driven innovation to consumers faster than ever before and grow its taste elevation platform around the world.

The new Heinz Pasta Sauces range is available now across Tesco, Dunnes and SuperValu stores throughout Ireland, with an RRP of €2.99 for 350g jars and €3.79 for 500g jars.
