Billie Shepherd has shared the sweetest video of her eldest children meeting their new baby sibling Margot.

The former The Only Way is Essex star welcomed her third child into the world with her husband Greg back in December.

Now, Billie has posted an adorable video of her children, eight-year-old Nelly and five-year-old Arthur, visiting her in hospital after she had given birth and meeting the newest addition to their family.

The 33-year-old shared the cute black and white video to her 2.6M Instagram followers. In the clip, Nelly and Arthur can be seen walking into their mum’s room as she’s propped up in bed cradling baby Margot.

The proud siblings looked positively overjoyed and gave their little sister a kiss on the cheek.

Billie captioned the post, “The most special precious moment of my whole entire life. The moment Nelly and Arthur met their baby sister”.

“I am so excited to announce that we filmed a baby special and it airs this Sunday @itvbe at 7.30pm”.

The mum-of-three continued, “From the build up to the birth, the actual birth (slightly nervous) and life after welcoming our beautiful baby girl into the world and adjusting to life as a family of 5”.

“We are always so open and honest with all aspects of family life. We have lots of good times , we also have emotional times …. it doesn’t get more real than this episode”.

The reality TV star closed off by adding, “I am so excited but also slightly nervous. We hope you enjoy the show @familydiariesofficial forever grateful for all of your support”.

Fans of Billie’s headed to the comments to share how lovely they thought the intimate moment was.

“This is such a special moment, the way Arthur goes straight in with a kiss”, penned one fan.

A second wrote, “Ahhh this gave me goosebumps”, while another added, “This is so so precious x”.

When announcing their baby girl had been born, Billie said, “Welcome to the world our beautiful baby girl. We are so in love with our precious little darling”.

Greg, who Billie married in March 2019, added, “@billieshepherdofficial was amazing. Mum and baby are well. Let the family of 5 life begin”.

It has been revealed that one third of visits to hospital emergency departments could be avoided.

As flu season continues to rage, hospitals across the country have been placed under immense pressure and have seen a shocking rise in the number of patients being admitted and attending A&E.

Now, in new research ordered by Laya Healthcare, it has been concluded that a large volume of these emergency department admissions could be prevented.

The study found that in the last 12 months, one in three people attended the emergency department twice for non-life-threatening conditions, despite there being alternative care options available such as a GP, pharmacist or local urgent care clinic.

The study also discovered that almost 29% of people refrain from seeking medical treatment, because they are worried about being forced to wait for hours in hospital. On average, the research concluded that patients were forced to wait approximately seven hours before being attended to by a medical professional.

Worryingly, 44% of people who took part in the study are unaware of any other urgent care options that they can turn to as an alternative to attending the emergency department.

Only 24% of people would consider going to their local public injury clinic if they had a minor injury, as there is a belief that they will receive quicker treatment at a hospital.

Dr Lauren Brand, an Urgent Care Physician who works in the Laya Health and Wellbeing Clinic in Dublin, has stressed that more awareness needs to be drawn to healthcare options outside of A&E.

“All these paths should be considered before heading to the ED. Of course, if the injury or illness is suspected to be serious, that’s when you should consider calling an ambulance or going to the local hospital,” she stated.

The cause of Louise Thompson’s recent stay in hospital has been revealed.

The Made In Chelsea star worried fans earlier this week when she confirmed that she had been admitted to hospital.

Speaking to her Instagram followers, the mum-of-one shared an update from her hospital bed. “I've been quiet on here recently because I had a bit of an unexpected situation again,” Louise wrote. “Don't really know what to say right now except for a huge thanks to everyone that's kept the old ticker ticking”.

“I feel like I've very much used up my quota of NHS services at this point. Eeek. I can't help but feel a bit guilty about it all,” she added.

Throughout her hospital stay, Louise has kept her followers abreast of how she has been coping with her latest health scare. However, the 32-year-old refrained from confirming what had caused her admission to hospital.

Last night, her fiancé Ryan Libbey posted an important update, in which he revealed what had happened to Louise.

“2023 started well for me and for my family. Last Friday it got flipped on its head again,” he penned.

“Louise haemorrhaged at home, again. Rushed to hospital for surgery and close monitoring for 4 days,” the 32-year-old continued.

Thankfully, Ryan went on to confirm that his fiancée has been discharged from hospital. “Louise is home now, stable and doing well. She’s a warrior!”.

Unfortunately, the couple’s one-year-old son Leo is now dealing with a different illness. “Leo has picked up impetigo from nursery. Dad is tired,” Ryan detailed.

As a result of Louise’s recent health crisis, the family of three have had to miss a two-week-long holiday in St Lucia, which Louise described earlier this week as gutting as she “really needed some sun + sea”.

Louise’s hemorrhage is just the latest in a prolonged period of health worries for the MIC star. A few weeks ago, she was diagnosed with drug-induced lupus, which has been causing her intense joint pain.

After giving birth to baby Leo in November 2021 and staying in intensive care for a month, Louise has also been open about her ongoing experience with anxiety, postnatal depression and complex PTSD.

We’re wishing Louise and her family well.

Earlier this week, the couple were hosting a party to celebrate Portia’s 50th birthday with their nearest and dearest when suddenly, Portia appeared in her wedding dress, surprising the crowd and her wife with a renewal ceremony.

As she made her entrance into the room in her halter-neck backless gown, Brandi Charlie sang and played guitar.

To add to the surprise, the couple’s best friend, Kris Jenner, officiated the ceremony.

The ‘Momager’ took to Instagram to repost a clip from the special day, revealing it was an “honour” to do such a special gesture for her friends.

The 67-year-old wrote, “It was such an honour to officiate my beautiful BFFs Ellen and Portia wedding vow renewal".

“I love you guys so much and wish you a lifetime of happiness. Love and laughter!!!”.

The Ellen Degeneres Show host shared the same video to her 131M Instagram followers and penned, “Portia surprised me at her birthday party by renewing our vows. Thank you @KrisJenner for officiating and @BrandiCarlile for performing, and Portia for being the greatest gift to me, even on your birthday”.

Many of Ellen’s fans headed to the comments to congratulate her and Portia on their vow renewal after almost 14 years of marriage.

“This is so pure and beautiful. When times are hard, it’s beautiful to see love shine”, wrote one fan.

A second fan said, “This is so absolutely beautiful. May you truly live happily ever after”.

“Oh my goodness! Congratulations y'all! A surprise vow renewal, I could just happy cry for you both!”, added a third.

Ellen and Portia tied the knot in Los Angeles back in August 2008. They first met in 2000, and it wasn’t until 2004 that the pair started dating.

Tesco Ireland has launched its latest community initiative that will see four community projects share €100,000 in funding from the special 25 Years Community Fund.

‘The 25 Years Community Fund’ is designed to help groups to realise a once-off special project from start to finish. Applications will be grouped according to locations and one cause from Munster; Leinster; Connacht and Ulster; and Dublin will receive a €25,000 donation each to help support their communities. Local organisations can apply online at www.tescoireland.ie or scan the QR code on the Tesco community board located at the front of all 164 stores nationwide.

As Tesco Ireland marks 25 years operating in Ireland, it is recognising the thousands of good causes and local projects all over Ireland who work to support and build thriving communities. As part of this new, once-off initiative, local causes from all over Ireland are invited to put forward their application and share why their project should be selected as a recipient of ‘The 25 Years Community Fund’.

The 25 Years Community Fund judging panel will comprise broadcaster Blathnaid Treacy; Rosemary Garth, Communications Director, Tesco Ireland; Tomás Sercovich, CEO, Business in The Community; Deirdre Duffy, Director of Impact, Grants and Donor Care at the Community Foundation for Ireland and Deborah Dignam, Assistant Principal at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

Throughout Ireland, small and often volunteer-run groups such as Meals on Wheels, sports clubs, resource centres and mental health services are at the heart of local communities. However, the cost-of-living increases have put added pressure on these services to stay open for longer and cater for increased demand in local communities.

The new initiative coincides with new research from Tesco which found that more than one third of people (35%) in Ireland currently volunteer with or work for an organisation or good cause in their local community while more than a third (35%) of those surveyed said that they donate to a local good cause in their local community.

More than three quarters (77%) said that they will donate to a good cause in their local community in 2023 with the majority of respondents (85%) agreeing that local organisations facilitate a greater feeling of empowerment and inclusion in local communities.

Minister Neale Richmond, Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail said “I am delighted to be supporting this initiative. Having contributed to Ireland’s communities and our economy for 25 years, Tesco plays a hugely important role in our retail sector. I want to share a word of thanks to Tesco for supporting local projects and consistently working to improve communities across Ireland. This is a great time to submit an application and I would encourage any local organisation to get involved with Tesco’s Community Fund.”

Speaking at the launch Rosemary Garth, Communications Director, Tesco Ireland said “For 25 years we’ve been supporting the communities we live and work in, and this year more than ever, we wanted to do something special for our communities.

We are making €100,000 in funding available to support four causes or community projects to create their dream project or initiative, each receiving €25,000. Maybe there’s a project or community group out there that has a special project on their wish list that they’ve only ever dreamed of being able to fund? Whether your voluntary group has never been a recipient of our ongoing Community Fund, or been in it once or many times, now is your chance to apply for the chance to receive €25,000 – we want to hear from you.”

Tomás Sercovich, CEO, Business in The Community added “As a non-profit business network that aims to encourage corporate social responsibility, it’s fantastic to see Tesco Ireland supporting vibrant communities. There is huge need across organisations providing vital services. Receiving this funding could change everything for a local community group or project so get involved and tell us what you would spend €25,000 on.”

Tesco Ireland has been a longstanding supporter of local communities throughout Ireland, supporting the issues that matters most where customers and colleagues live and work. ‘The 25 Years Community Fund’ is an extension of the Tesco Community Fund programme and since 2014 has donated over €7 million to more than 21,000 national and local causes, helping to build and support thriving communities all over Ireland.

The closing date for causes to enter is 26th February and the cause can apply online here. The winners will be announced following judging in March 2023.

Fans of Happy Valley, listen up!

One of the stars of the hit BBC drama has teased that audiences are in for an “extraordinary” finale, as the third and final season draws to a close.

The last ever episode of Happy Valley is due to air this Sunday, February 5. Actor Con O’Neill appeared on daytime show This Morning earlier today and revealed that fans are in for a treat with the finale of Sally Wainwright’s gripping series.

Credit: BBC

Happy Valley follows Sarah Lancashire’s character Sergeant Catherine Cawood, who is just days away from retiring from Yorkshire Police. However, Catherine has plenty of personal drama to derail her from a peaceful life, as her grandson Ryan has been developing a secret relationship with his father – notorious murderer and criminal Tommy Lee Royce (played by James Norton).

Con, who plays Clare Cawood’s partner Neil, was quizzed by presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for details about the final installment.

"When I read the script for the last episode, it blew my mind," the 56-year-old actor shared.

Credit: BBC

"Sally has written an extraordinary ending to the show,” he praised.

Satisfied with Con's reply and not wanting to be spoiled too much, Holly exclaimed: "That is all I need. That is all I need!”.

The actor’s details come after the finale’s director Fergus O’Brien has confirmed that it will be a “satisfying” ending for fans.

Speaking to Shrine Podcasts earlier this week, the Happy Valley director hints that the finale “picks you up, and just flings you around and slaps you against the wall and slaps you in the face and wallops you across the room.”

Credit: BBC

"It really takes you on a ride,” he bemused. “The ending is really satisfying. It's dramatic, but in a really interesting and clever way.”

“I think people will go away feeling sad that it's over, but I think they'll be satisfied,” he promised.

We sure hope so! Viewers can catch the epic finale of Happy Valley when it airs this Sunday, February 5, on BBC One at 9pm.

The new range by the all-natural and all-sustainable Irish brand is a complete game changer for Irish men, with 88% admitting they want to care more about sustainable practices and natural ingredients when selecting the wash and grooming products they purchase

And 70% of Irish men believe that the selection of sustainable and natural wash and grooming products available to them is inferior in comparison to what is available to Irish women – until now!

Ireland’s kindest brand, The Handmade Soap Company, has today announced the release of its first-ever complete men’s range. Best known for their luxury, handmade range of natural hand, body and home fragrance products, the beloved Irish brand’s new range for men includes a beard oil, hair and body wash, shaving gel, after-shave balm, a bar of soap, and an all-natural deodorant, all carefully considered and handmade for men. Brand Founder, Donagh Quigley, was Inspired by famed perfumers Frederic Malle and Jean Claude Ellena, when creating the signature scent for this new range, using a complex mix of pure essential oils, from hay to pink pepper, and bitter orange.

Developed and produced in the brand’s mill in Co. Meath, the launch of this new range will offer a much needed, and widely available all-natural and truly sustainable alternative to the myriad of men’s wash and grooming products on our shelves, where 100% natural ingredients are rare and greenwashing is common.

The Handmade Soap Company Hair & Body Wash – RRP €14

Recent nationally representative research conducted by the brand found that:

  • 88% of Irish men admit to wanting to care more about sustainable practices and natural ingredients when selecting the wash and grooming products they choose to purchase.
  • 70% of Irish men believe that the selection of sustainable and natural wash and grooming products available to them is inferior in comparison to what is available to Irish women
  • 45% of Irish men would like to be purchasing environmentally sustainable wash and grooming products
  • 45% of Irish men would rather be using wash and grooming products that are made from 100% natural ingredients
The Handmade Soap Company Shaving Gel – RRP €15

Speaking of his process when creating the bespoke scent for this new men’s range, Brand Founder Donagh Quigley explained:

“We only use essential oils to fragrance our products, in line with our Ecocert and Cosmos Natural accreditations. So I had to be creative about what I could use. After much searching for specialty natural fragrance merchants, I stumbled across the most amazing Hay Absolute, which is a concentrated version of an extract of Hay. This was then married with pink pepper which gives a much rounder and softer heat than the sharper and much more readily available black peppercorn. The scent was then lifted by Bitter Orange and Cardamom and then balanced with Cedarwood and Geranium. This is a complex but not complicated blend that I am really proud of. I am not allowed to pick a favourite child but if I could…”

The Handmade Soap Company After Shave Balm – RRP €18

Now two years in the making in Co. Meath, the all-natural, all-sustainable men's range has been designed to satisfy the demands of the modern, sustainability-conscious man and embodies the true spirit of this family business. Namely cruelty-free products made with ethically sourced ingredients and fully sustainable packaging. In fact, all packaging is screen printed and has no outer packaging which the brand sees as the next step up on their sustainable journey.

The Handmade Soap Company Beard Oil – RRP €18

Speaking on the brand’s growth over the years and his unyielding determination to see The Handmade Soap Company become the kindest brand in the world, Donagh said:

“Our story began with myself and my wife Gemma creating soaps by hand in our kitchen. As our business grew, nature always remained our grounding force. We quite literally would not be able to make our products without natural ingredients. Receiving the B Corp accreditation last year was one of my proudest moments in our business journey. B Corp is one of the most demanding certifications and evaluates a brand’s social and environmental impact, with over 300 questions about governance, workers, communities and impact on the environment. B Corp is a global movement of people using business as a force for good, and we are extremely happy to now be one of very few Irish brands to be a part of that change.”

The Handmade Soap Company
Bitter Orange & Pink Pepper Soap – RRP €7

The men’s range is packaged in a distinctive stripped-back geometric repeat pattern with a colour palette chosen to represent the scent of bitter orange and pink pepper. The new men's range is available to purchase at all The Handmade Soap Company stockists, including Arnotts, Avoca and Kilkenny Design, as well as online at www.thehandmadesoapcompany.ie with prices ranging from RRP €7 to €18.
