Bumble, the women-first dating app, has released a new suite of profile prompts and interest badges centred around mental health and selfcare. The addition of profile prompts and badges will give people on Bumble the space to easily highlight what’s most important to them and encourage an open dialogue around mental health from the offset.

This comes as data from Bumble has found that over half of men globally (54%) are taking active steps to look after their emotional and mental health.

From today, people on Bumble can now select from two new mental wellness-related Profile Prompts including “My mental health game changer was…” and “I’m prioritising my mental health by..,” as well as six new interest badges that can be added to their profile, showcasing their priorities, such as ‘Therapy’, ‘Mindfulness’, ‘Deep Chat’, ‘Nutrition’, ‘Sleeping Well’ and ‘Time Offline’.

Bumble’s data also revealed that over the past year, almost a third (32%) of respondents around the world shared they are going to, or are considering going to, therapy.

This follows Bumble’s trend of ‘Guardrailing’ which found that more than half (52%) of people on the app have established more boundaries over the last year. This includes being clearer about our emotional needs and boundaries (63%), being more thoughtful and intentional about how we put ourselves out there (59%), and not overcommitting socially (53%).

For those who are looking to prioritise time offline, Bumble’s Snooze Mode offers the ability to pause your activity on the app without losing any connections or chats. With Snooze Mode, you can hide your profile from potential matches for either 24 hours, 72 hours, or even weeks at a time.

Bumble's Snooze Mode

Naomi Walkland, Bumble’s VP of Europe says, “Over the past couple of years there has been a positive societal shift in how we prioritise and talk about mental health. We’re seeing this mirrored when it comes to dating, with people demonstrating that they really value emotional maturity and communication, often over physical attributes.

Bumble’s research shows that not only are people looking for an empathetic and emotionally mature partner, they are also doing the work themselves by educating themselves, going to therapy, and learning to set boundaries and communicate them. Our latest self-care features are designed to encourage this conversation about mental health, share what’s important to you and find others who share a similar approach.”

Bumble’s Sex & Relationship Expert, Dr Caroline West, gives her five tips to protect your mental health whilst dating:

Set yourself a time limit – Spending a lot of time searching through dating apps can be a demotivating experience. Instead, why not set aside time in the day where you’ll intentionally look for a partner on a dating app. Spend time really absorbing people’s profiles to understand their interests and values to see if they are someone you’d be interested in pursuing

Take your time to get to know each other better. If you’ve got a case of the pre-date jitters, spend a little longer getting to know a potential date before meeting in-person. Try a video date before meeting IRL to get a feel for their personality and see whether there is an initial spark.

Set boundaries – Whilst it’s great to be open about mental health, it’s also important that you feel safe to do so. By setting boundaries such as ‘I’m not comfortable talking about this today’ or, ‘I need some time’, you’re able to protect your mental well-being and talk about sensitive topics at a time when you feel less vulnerable.

Take time off if you need to – We all have busy lives and dating can often feel like just another thing to do and tick off, adding to the overwhelming feeling. On Bumble, there is a snooze option which allows you to pause your activity and come back to it when you’re ready

Talk to your support system – If you’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed whilst dating, talk to friends and family. They can offer an outside perspective which might help you see things more clearly and alleviate some pressure. They’ll want to hear all the good stories too, so keep them updated on that too!

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the robbery.

The L.A. County Sheriff department have confirmed that they are currently investigating what happened, and that valuables “over $100,000” were seized.

In the past, Lily has spoken with adoration about her engagement ring. The stunning band was picked out for her by her husband, filmmaker Charlie McDowell, before he proposed to her in September 2020.

During an appearance on talk show Live With Kelly And Ryan the following month, Lily couldn’t help but gush about her new ring.

“It’s a rose-cut diamond. Charlie designed it with Irene,” the Love, Rosie star detailed, referring to luxury jeweller Irene Neuwirth.

Lily then went on to describe her engagement ring as “exactly what I wanted”.

Lily first met her husband Charlie in 2019, when they were both working on the set of the film Gilded Rage.

"It was one of those situations where I knew the second I met him that I wanted to be his wife one day. So, it was just a matter of when, really,” Lily recalled.

The pair soon began to date, before making their first public appearance together in January 2020 at a basketball game in Los Angeles.

Lily and Charlie got engaged on September 25, 2020, with Lily flashing her engagement ring and penning on Instagram: "I've been waiting my lifetime for you and I can't wait to spend our lifetime together…"

The couple subsequently tied the knot one year later on September 4, 2021, at a beautiful ceremony in Colorado.

We hope that Lily’s rings will be returned to her soon!

“The nap gods have shone down upon me, so I thought I’d start answering the Q&A,” she giggled, panning the camera to show a snoozing one-year-old Rose and baby Belle.

The former X Factor star then went on to respond to a fan query about how she has been finding life with five children.

“This is one of the most asked questions! It’s been incredible, like so amazing. I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to say I’m a mum-of-five,” she gushed.

“While I have been on maternity leave, it’s been so lovely to just be around them the whole time and give them all my attention,” she continued.

Stacey then went on to explain that tomorrow marks a significant day since giving birth to Belle. “I go back to filming away starting from tomorrow, so I know that’s going to be really hard and I feel a bit emotional about it,” she admitted, adding that it’s “a weird mix of feelings.”

The TV presenter further joked that life with young kids is intense. “I’ll be 100% honest – 3, 1 and 0 is full on!” she teased.

“It’s really hard, but at the same time, I love that they’re growing up together,” Stacey added.

In a later question, Stacey addressed a worry from a fellow mum about the speed at which children start talking.

Credit: Stacey Solomon Instagram

“Yes, Rose is slightly advanced in her speech, but I’ll tell you what, the only reason for that is she’s got older siblings and five of them, bless her!” she exclaimed.

“If she wants anything from them or wants to communicate in any way, she has got to learn really quickly how to speak, because they’re not going to talk baby or understand her when she’s not making sense,” Stacey concluded, referring to it as Rose’s “survival mechanism.”

We love hearing about the Solomon-Swash household!

Sam added, “People need to understand that everyone works differently”.

A father has been sent to prison for abandoning his young daughter at the side of a busy road.

The young man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the two-year-old girl, will be serving three years in jail. He was given his sentence after appearing at Letterkenny District Court in Co. Donegal, where he pleaded guilty to child cruelty.

The man, who is in his 20s, chose to commit the offence in August 2020 as an act of revenge against the child’s mother.

The man had become jealous that his ex-girlfriend had gone on a night out that evening. At 4:30am, he sent a threatening message to the toddler’s mother, warning her that he would abandon their daughter if she did not tell him her location.

After receiving no response, the man decided to take pictures of his daughter on a roadside in Letterkenny and sent them to her mother, before driving off and abandoning the child.

The little girl was shortly found crying and freezing around 5am. During the case’s hearing, Garda Sergeant Frank McDaid recalled how the girl was discovered by two men leaving a party. The child was found holding a baby’s bottle at the entrance to a local construction site.

After knocking on nearby houses in an attempt to locate the girl’s parents, the two passers-by subsequently called Gardaí.

The child’s mother phoned Gardaí and explained that the girl was her daughter, and had been left alone by her father. He was subsequently arrested and pleaded guilty.

The man has not seen his young daughter since abandoning her, and in her victim impact statement, the child’s mother noted that the little girl now struggles to be around others.

At the end of the case, Judge John Alymer handed down a sentence of four years, with the final 12 months suspended.

She thanked her followers for their messages regarding her IVF journey before explaining, “Firstly I know this is not an easy journey, but since I spoke up about it i was actually shocked how many people are going through this or have been through this, I thank each and everyone of you for reaching out and sharing your story, it helps more than you know to have a community”.

“I was diagnosed with low ovarian reserve earlier this year and that will mean I’ll hit an early menopause. My AMH level was 0.5 with is exceptionally low especially at my age of 34”.

The Dangerous Game actress continued, “Anyways, to let you know where we are at… they managed to get 2 eggs yesterday from my follicles and with my AMH level I believe that’s good (obviously someone without my condition would have an abundance more)”.

“But all you need is 1 good one so praying today that’s what they find out! The egg collection wasn’t as scary as I had made out in my head, I was put to sleep and then woke up half an hour later back in my room”.

“I know the process is emotionally and physically draining for so many of us, and I know I’ve got a fair way to go yet, it’s hard to stay stress free when you’re wondering if those eggs are good enough because if they’re not, you have to start the whole thing again!”.

Credit: Jess Impiazzi Instagram

“It’s very draining and exhausting but everyone going through this, you are warriors! The next step for where I am at now is to wait and find out today if my eggs are good! So I’m going to go ahead with positive thoughts into the rest of the day”.

Many famous faces and fans of the TV star headed to the comments to share their support for her on this journey.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here star Vicky Pattison wrote, “Sending you so much love my girl”.

The cleaning guru, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, has been open in the past about her mental health. In November 2020, Sophie revealed that she had started taking medication for anxiety and depression.

Now, in a more recent update, the mum-of-two took to Instagram last night to confess that she had been battling with her mental health all day.

“For some reason today has been the worst day (anxiety wise) I have had in well over a year,” the 33-year-old penned alongside a wistful inspirational quote.

“I’ve walked, I’ve talked, I’ve cried, I’ve written things down but it’s not helped me today,” Sophie recalled.

“And now I’ve got the bloody stomach shivers as I call them. So I’m going to bed now and then hopefully I’ll wake up new and fresh tomorrow,” she added.

As well as being sent loving and supportive messages from some of her 4.6M followers, Sophie was also asked if she could explain what she meant by ‘stomach shivers’.

“I can’t explain it. When you get a moment of tense vibration in your tummy, and then it stops,” she responded in a video.

“It’ll be alright for a minute and then you’ll remember a few things, and then it’ll go again, and then it’ll stop. It’s like a bloody little electric shock that goes in your stomach and then stops for a bit,” she continued.

“I probably am the only one,” Sophie noted before adding, “I call them stomach shivers or the tummy shivers.”

The influencer then went on to share that her anxiety can affect her physical health. “Sometimes, if you end up getting them a lot, you end up getting an upset stomach at the same time, so it’s all just a double whammy,” she exhaled.

Sophie received one final message from a loving fan, telling her that many other people have had an ‘awful’ day, and that she is not on her own.

“I haven’t been able to eat today,” Sophie further noted in response.

“It’s just one of those days,” she concluded, penning that “maybe there’s something in the air.”

We hope Mrs Hinch has a better day today!
