It was the result Clinton campaigners were dreading, but as of this morning, Donald J Trump is the new President of United States.

And while Twitter has been awash with posts deriding American society for voting in an openly racist, sexist and misogynistic individual with no political or military experience, the man himself hadn't taken to social media… until now.

Nine hours after his last tweet, the Republican paid tribute to the momentous event in American history and vowed to unite the county.

"Such a beautiful and important evening! The forgotten man and woman will never be forgotten again. We will all come together as never before," read the tweet.

And while it has racked up a staggering 50,000 likes in less than half an hour, social media users have wasted no time questioning the validity of Trump's sentiments.

""We"* *except from everyone, wo is not a white American man," responded one Twitter user.

"Obama to Trump is the worst downgrade ever. Give the world back to the dinosaurs #RIPAmerica," added another.

Referencing the countless racist remarks and xenophobic comments Trump made during the course of his presidential campaign, another individual replied: "Hey Sir, I am a Muslim and I would to report a man working in the Oval office responsible for spreading hate speech."

This morning's result brings to an end one of the most controversial US presidential campaign in history.

While our primary and secondary school teachers were (for the most part) held in the same regard as our parents, the same definitely can't be said of our college tutors and lecturers.

After making the leap into third-level education, many of us quickly realised that those who led our classes, tutorials and lectures weren't likely to preach or pontificate, and instead (again, for the most part) treated us as their peers.

Reminding us of this fact, one girl delighted the internet earlier this week when she shared an email sent by her Ohio University tutor three minutes before his tutorial was due to begin.

"I couldn't find a f*cking parking space, so I can't make it to class today. Sorry for any inconveniences." Brandon wrote.

"You all get 10/10 for the quiz today. I won't be holding office hours today either as I need a little distance from campus at the moment," he added.

Showing support for Brandon, thousands of Twitter users weighed in, with one writing: "I could write a dissertation on how sh*tty university parking is. on home football games we all hafta move our cars, it's a joke." (sic)

Brandon, you're among your own people on Twitter.

Prince Harry is officially loved up with Suits actress and lifestyle blogger Meghan Markle, after the couple announced their new relationship last week.

Unlike big brother William, Harry is known for his previous dalliances and slightly wilder reputation.

In the spirit of Shoutout To My Ex, we had a little look back on the young Prince's old flames, secretly hoping that we're his type. A girl can dare to dream, right?

1.Chelsy Davy

Before Prince Harry turned his attention to brunettes, he enjoyed a seven year, on-off relationship with socialite and jewellery designer and former lawyer Chelsy Davy.

The relationship struggled due to intense public scrutiny, as Chelsy was labelled a party girl despite her prestigious education and career as a high flying lawyer.

The two remain friends and Chelsy even attended Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011.

2. Caroline Flack

Caroline wrote in her autobiography that she briefly dated Prince Harry back in 2009.

The TV presenter met the royal bachelor through a mutual friend and began seeing each other, but Caroline called off the romance after being called the prince's 'bit of rough' when the story of their romance was revealed. The Strictly star moved on from Prince Harry with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles and has since found love with artist Blue Logan.

3.Cressida Bonas 

Another well documented flame of the royal's, the two had a two-year relationship from 2012-2014.

The model has previously starred in a Mulberry campaign and has dipped her toe in the acting pool with a series of roles on the West End. 

Both Cressida and Chelsy blamed the intense public and press scrutiny for the demise of their relationships with Prince Harry, so it was no wonder that the red-haired royal felt the need to release a statement regarding the intense 'abuse and harassment' which was aimed at his new love since their relationship announcement. Harry clearly wants to hold onto this one!

4. Mollie King

The Saturdays singer Mollie King attempted to move on from the break up of relationship with David Gandy by bagging herself a prince back in 2012.

Prince Harry and the blonde beauty had been friends for years before things turned romantic, but Harry put the brakes on the rumoured relationship because he felt that things were going too public too soon.

Mollie tweeted denying the relationship before getting back together with her model ex-boyfriend.

5. Jenna Coleman

Before settling down with Meghan, the royal was linked to a fellow brunette beauty and Doctor Who actress Jenna Coleman.

The pair were spotted in a clinch at Ascot (where else) but the relationship was reportedly short lived.

6. Cara Delevigne 

Suicide Squad actress Margot Robbie revealed that the catwalk veteran has a flirty text relationship with the prince.

The Victoria's Secret model 'drunk texts' Prince Harry, according to her pal Margot, and even told him that she dreams of him.

Cara recently split from her long term girlfriend St Vincent, and revealed some new body art in the form of a snake tattoo. We hope the instances aren't related!

We thought we'd heard and seen it all when one beauty blogger started swearing by semen facials, but as this morning's presidential win confirms, nothing is beyond the realms of possibility.

Having recently promoted her questionable skincare routine online, Tracy Kiss has now gone one step further by including the bodily fluid in her morning smoothie.

Tracy, who also works as a personal trainer, insists it's something we should all consider when preparing the ingredients for our morning juice… no, seriously.

According to The Sun, Tracy said: "I felt the need to share this information. People are so weird about sperm when in actual fact a teaspoon is filled with amazing goodness."

"Sperm is an awesome product and we should stop being so ridiculous about it – the health benefits have been well researched and more women and men should take advantage of it particularly as its made by our own bodies and doesn’t contain e-numbers and chemicals."

Explaining the motivation behind her decision to graduate from semen facials to semen smoothies, Tracy said she does it in an effort to boost her immunity, saying: "I’d been feeling run down and had no energy, but now I’m full of beans and my mood has improved."

The mum-of-two, who relies on a friend to supply her with his semen, has had her argument contradicted by medical professionals who insist there's little scientific grounding in Tracy's beliefs.

"There is absolutely no nutritional value to semen. A better way for vegans to get extra protein would be through foods like nuts," opined Dr. Sarah Jarvis.

"There’s no scientific evidence whatsoever that drinking sperm will stop flu. Plus, depending on where the semen comes from, you could be at risk of catching viruses including HIV and Ziku." added Dr. Carol Cooper.

Thanks for the advice Tracy, but we think we're going to pass on this one.

Niall Horan has been named as one of the UK's richest celebrities under 30-years-old.

As seen before with Michael Fassbender and Saoirse Ronan, the UK seem to claim the Irish singer as their own, and if past events are anything to go by, fans won't be too happy,

Heat Magazine released the list earlier this morning, with Niall ranked in 8th place having made an estimated €37.9m in the past year.

The other One Direction lads made the list too, with former bandmate Zayn coming in 4th place with €42.5m.

Harry Styles came in fifth, raking in €41.2m, Liam Payne came in 7th, making €37.9m and good 'ol Louis came in 9th place, with an estimated €36.8m in the bank.

Adele topped the list by far with €102.6m and Ed Sheeren followed her with €81.4m.

Megan McKenna is officially cashing in on arguably her most infamous trait with the release of a makeup range named Mouthy. 

The reality-star-turned-makeup-mogul has recently been teasing her fans on social media in the run-up to her new line's launch… and now the liquid lippies are officially here.

However, and although the range does look all sorts of fab, followers of the Towie cast member were quick to point out the not-so subtle similarities between Megan's lip kits… and those of teen superstar Kylie Jenner.

Twitter and Instagram users flocked to Megan's Mouthy social media pages to hound the Ex On The Beach star for promoting her products as lip kits and have even suggested that Megan copied the youngest Kardashian-Jenner's colours.

Kylie first released her original three kits back in 2014. The shades Candy K, Dolce K and True Brown were the beginnings of the teen's now expansive makeup empire. And it seems that Megan is hoping for the same success with two similar neutral shades and a matte brown.

Actually, we were surprised to see that Megan's Mouthy kits are actually even more expensive than Kylie's: €33.60 Vs €26. 

And some observers are also praising Megan for her entrepreneurial spirit, hailing the new kits as being even better than Kylie's. Indeed, two of her three shades already sold out – so she's certainly doing something right.

Since the advent of the internet, it’s become increasingly more difficult to maintain a healthy work / life balance.

Firing off emails and updating Google docs outside of office hours has become common practice among many of us, and gives the illusion that we’re keeping on top of things.

But, in reality, this habit is having a detrimental effect on our mental and emotional wellbeing.

According to a study conducted by Colorado State University, Virginia Tech and Lehigh University and authored by Liuba Belkin, tending to emails outside of office hours results in ‘emotional exhaustion’.

And while the sheer number of emails we deal with outside working hours is worrying in itself, researchers have identified a further repercussion of the habit known as ‘anticipatory stress’ – anxiety created by waiting on an email or composing a response to correspondence you have not yet even received.

“Email is notoriously known to be the impediment of the recovery process,” the study states.

"Its accessibility contributes to experience of work overload since it allows employees to engage in work as if they never left the workspace, and at the same time, inhibits their ability to psychologically detach from work-related issues via continuous connectivity.”

By engaging in the practice on a regular basis, the individual is putting their mental health at risk as well as ultimately reducing their work productivity.

“Satisfaction with the balance between work and family domains is important for individual health and wellbeing, while individual inability to successfully balance roles in those domains can lead to anxiety and depression, lowered satisfaction with both work and family roles, absenteeism, decreased job productivity and organisational commitment and greater turnover.”

It’s time to disconnect, ladies.

Bono and Ali Hewson's ethical clothing company has suffered a loss of €67 million in the past five years.

According to new figures lodged with the Companies Offices, Edun Apparel Ltd has continued a trend of hefty annual losses recorded over recent years.

According to the Irish Examiner, "the loss last year was a 35 percent increase on the €5.3m loss recorded in 2014.

"This followed losses of €5.77m in 2013, €7.11m in 2012 and €7.65m in 2011.

Bono and his wife Ali established the fashion brand in 2005, in an effort to make a positive change with trading with Africa.

Edun Clothing Ltd's website reads: “[It] is building long-term, sustainable growth opportunities by supporting manufacturers, community-based initiatives and partnering with African artists and artisans”.

It’s now been confirmed that Donald Trump is the next president of the United States meaning the glass ceiling that Hillary Clinton was hoping to break has been weakened but still hangs above the heads of women in America.

However, the nation’s mums are not letting that be the message to their daughters.

These mums were sending the message to their little girls on election night that this was just the first step and it’s truly touching.

Lady Gaga has made her way to Trump Tower in New York to protest against the new president.

Only mere moments ago, Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump to concede, and he subsequently made his victory speech.

Gaga has been a huge supporter of Hillary from the start, and was with her throughout the night, keeping her supporters in good spirits.

She is currently standing on a truck, with a sign held high which reads, "Love Trumps Hate."

Little Mix fans went into meltdown last night as it appeared Jesy Nelson unfollowed her boyfriend, Jake Roche on Instagram.

An eagle-eyed user noticed that Jake wasn't on her list of followers and subsequently sent the Little Mix community into meltdown.

Both stars still have very loved-up pictures on their pages… so, we're thinking it could just be a glitch.

However, that didn't stop fans from being a bit dramatic about the apparent break-up.

As nothing has been confirmed, we think fans need to calm down a tad.
