We may now associate Brie Larson with joining the ranks of up-and-coming young actresses paving their way in the film industry with standout performances and big wins but Brie has been in the entertainment for a long time.

And this is well before her big break in Room.

In fact, the 26-year-old was once a fresh-faced teen actress on the Disney Channel and also dabbled in the music business.

Brie starred as the sister of one of the main protagonists in the movie Right on Track which she shared a picture from in a recent tweet.

In 2005, at the age of sixteen she turned her attentions to music, a passion in which she still has an avid interested despite not releasing new music in many years.

A highlight of her stint in music is definitely the music video for She Said in which she plays a hard-done-by teen moaning about life and wearing excessive eyeliner (as we all were at sixteen).

The video involves Brie as a waitress in a fast food chain in an Avril Lavingne-esque pop song and it's all kinds of nostalgic fun.

Brie has acted constantly since her teens most recently in 21 Jump Street and lending her musical talents to the film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World before landing her first lead role in a motion picture in Lenny Abrahamson's Room for which she scooped up the Oscar.

We gotta give this girl props for all her hard work getting to where she is today, but Brie we need more music from you…

We love a good pregnancy reveal story, and the fact that this one takes place at 10,000 metres makes it all the sweeter.

Mum-to-be Lisa Sadiwynk recently boarded a plane from Las Vegas to Philadelphia with her husband, and she decided it was high (geddit?) time to let him know he was due to become a dad.

After doing the usual announcements about flight time and weather, the American Airlines pilot on Lisa and Eric's plane told the passengers it was "time to have a little fun."

Calling out Eric's seat number and name, he then explained what was going on.

"Well Eric although you didn’t strike it rich here in Las Vegas you did hit the jackpot. Congratulations, you’re about to be a dad!"

How sweet?! And the moment Eric starts to cry just before the video ends is truly gorgeous.

Lisa's video has already racked up 35,000 views on Facebook, and she says she's hoping to track down some of the plane crew again to thank them properly.

Watch it in full here:

Here's a MUST WATCH! A few weeks ago, my husband Eric Sadiwnyk got quite the surprise on our returning flight from Las…

Leap Day wasn't all about the proposal news it seems – there was some very exciting baby news too.

Xposé presenter Karen Koster welcomed her second son yesterday, February 29, meaning her new arrival will technically only get to celebrate his "birthday" every four years.

Karen and her husband of three years John McGuire seem to be making a habit of welcoming their children on significant dates. Their first son Finn was born on New Year's Eve, 2014, as John mentioned when making the happy birth announcement on Twitter just now.

"John James McGuire was born yest on leap day, that's NYE and the leap day done," he joked. "Going for Xmass and Paddies day next, then we'll stop kissin."

After waiting until late October – four months into her second pregnancy – to confirm the news, Karen admitted that it was tough keeping it under wraps.

"I’m absolutely over the moon," the 35-year-old told The Irish Mirror at the time.

"I feel like I’ve been keeping a secret. It is such a relief to finally tell people and get my belly out."

Although she said she felt "blessed" to be expecting again, Karen admitted she had some new worries this time around.

"I know now that I can survive the night feeds and all the labour and that gory stuff.

"But now my worries are more like, 'How am I going to go to the bathroom when I have a baby who wants his bottle and I’ve Finn wobbling around?'"

Well, she's about to find out! Congrats to Karen, John and big brother Finn.

One of the hardest parts about kicking off a plant-based or vegan diet is finding ways to enjoy the meals you're used to without scrimping on taste.

Foodie and blogger Amy Mulvaney is going vegan for a month, and she's been sharing a whole host of simple, budget-friendly and – above all – tasty recipes with us throughout her journey.

Her latest recipe is for these seriously tasty roasted and stuffed red pepper cups. "Whenever I’m stuck for ideas for what to make for dinner, I always make these," says Amy.

"They’re easy to make, they’re filling and delicious, and it looks like you put a lot more effort into making them than you actually did!

"To keep these vegan, I’m omitting turkey mince and cheese on top, but feel free to add them in."

Roasted and Stuffed Red Pepper Cups

Ingredients

  • 2 red peppers
  • One packet microwaveable or boil-in-bag brown rice
  • ½ onion
  • ½ courgette
  • 6 button mushrooms
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees C.
  2. Slice off the top of the peppers.
  3. Cook the rice as per instructions.
  4. Chop up all the vegetables and any remaining pepper from the tops.
  5. Mix the vegetables, garlic powder, chilli powder and rice together. Add any extra vegetables that you like.
  6. Stand the peppers on a lined baking tray and fill with the vegetable mixture.
  7. Pop the peppers in the oven and cook for 15-20 minutes until roasted.
  8. Serve and enjoy!

If you have tickets to Adele's Dublin gigs this Friday or Saturday, it's time to start getting very, very excited.

The singer kicked off her first tour in five years last night with a gig at Belfast's SSE Arena last night, and judging by what some seriously giddy fans were tweeting, it was an incredible show.

The stage looked AMAZING, for one:

Fans were treated to some hilarious childhood snaps:

Oh, and there was fake rain for I Set Fire To The Rain, because glamour:

After a shaky performance at the Grammys due to sound issues, she was understandably a little nervous to perform to a crowd of thousands.

So nervous in fact, that she spent the day on the loo:

And to round things off, she even helped one Leap Year lover propose to her boyfriend (though it did earn a few boos, annoyingly).

Too sweet:

According to Twitter, the show featured songs from all three of her albums, 19, 21 and 25, though she admitted she had to do a fair few vocal exercises after her hotel air-con left her sounding "like Arnold Schwarzenegger."

Never, ever change, Adele.

British author Louise Rennison has sadly passed away, her publisher revealed last night.

The author is famous for writing the series of books about the life and times of Georgia Nicolson.

Her book Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging landed her in the big time when it was made into a movie. It was renamed as Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging as to not outrage American audiences.

The movie also started off the careers of Aaron Johnson and QI's Alan Davis.

In a statement Harper Lee Collins said: "Nobody wrote for teenagers like she did, she understood them, their lives and their extraordinary and powerful friendships."
