If you've ventured into your local supermarket recently, then you probably have a fair idea that Mother's Day is approaching, given the large volume of Milk Tray and floral bouquets strategically placed right inside the front entrance.

But just in case that fact had passed you by, we've come up with a few last minute – and decidedly non-cheesy – things to do with your mam this weekend.

Baking, culture, cocktails… you're bound to find something on this list she'll love. And if all else fails, you know where to go to get a cheap bouquet.

1. Baking Masterclass at Le Pain Quotidien
Book yourself and your mam in for an afternoon of eating and baking at Le Pain Quotidien in Kildare Village, where they're running two-hour masterclasses on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's attendees will whip up hot cross buns and speculoos cookies, while Sunday's group will keep things cleaner with raw vegan chocolate cake and five-seeded bread.

You'll be served up canapés during the workshop, plus you can bring home the fruits of your labour along with a special (edible) gift.

Cost is €50 per person. Contact Le Pain Quotidien at Kildare Village on 045 499190 to reserve your space (essential).

2. Women Of Notes/Mná Na Notaí at Thirty Four Lennox St
A photography and prose exhibition featuring some of Ireland's most successful female musicians launches at Thirty Four Lennox St this Saturday, to coincide with International Women's Day. See images of artists like Mary Black, Lisa Hannigan, MayKay, Choice Prize winner SOAK, Heathers and more, all photographed by Ruth Medjber and interviewed by journalist Louise Bruton.

This is the first part of what Ruth and Louise hope will be an ongoing series documenting some of the fiercest and most hard-working women in the Irish music industry.

A photo posted by Women Of Notes (@womenofnotes) on

The launch kicks off this Saturday March 5 at 1pm at Thirty Four Lennox St, Dublin 2. More information here.

3. Pop-up portraits and sketching at Arnotts
Yes, it might seem like a bit of a cop-out to drag your mum out shopping, but Arnotts have a whole heap of (mainly free) Mother's Day events this weekend that will make the trip more than worthwhile.

On Saturday there'll be a pop-up photography studio in-store for that perfect mum-and-daughter snap, while sketch artist Conor Merriman will be on the first floor for a more unorthodox family portrait. Plus mums can grab a complimentary facial, makeover or arm massage at one of the many beauty counters over the weekend.

4. VHI Lust For Life 5k/10k Walk/Run at the Phoenix Park
Kick off your Mother's Day weekend with some fitness down at the Phoenix Park, where over 4,000 people are expected to take part in the Lust For Life walk/run in aid of mental health charity Aware. Even if you're not taking part, head down to cheer the runners on and enjoy the buzz.

More information can be found here.

5. A Very Peculiar Afternoon Tea at The Westin
If you can't get a space for this weekend, we highly recommend booking this in as an IOU. Baked Alice In Wonderland-themed treats, sambos and Hendricks gin cocktails all served up in the gorgeous surroundings of The Atrium Lounge at The Westin. Perfection.

Cost is €34 per person. To book call +353 (0)1 645 1324 or email theatrium@thewestindublin.com.

When we imagine an museum exhibition inspired by the Olsen twins, we're thinking over-sized scarf displays, a guide to working Birkenstocks with socks and a look at every single ensemble they ever wore to a theMET gala.

As well as an in-depth analysis of their days as child stars, obviously

And while there could potentially be an Olsen exhibition, it's not gonna look anything like this.

American art curators Matt Harkins and Viviana Olen are instead proposing an exhibition that will be called The Olsen Twins Hiding from the Paparazzi.

And while it's not what we were expecting, we are definitely intrigued.

The proposed collection will include Laura Collins' paintings of the twins hiding behind various bizarre items in order to escape the media glare.

We're talking the Olsens hiding behind everything from expensive designer handbags and coffee cups to yoga mats.

The exhibition is currently seeking to be funded on Kickstarter and there's only 18 days left to make this wacky vision a reality.

Sounds wonderfully weird to us.

'Move it, football head!'

If these words don't bring you straight back your youth, you will probably not be excited by the fact that Nickelodeon is bringing back one of its most beloved animated characters.

Yep, your favourite kid with the football-shaped head is set to return not for TV but for two feature-length Hey Arnold! films.

And with the original creative genius behind the show, Craig Bartlett, and his team set to helm the franchise, we reckon it is going to be a pretty wonderful trip down memory lane.

The show follows the adventures of Arnold and his street-wise pal Gerald as well as Helga, the girl who tormented Arnold in order to cover up the fact that she secretly loved him.

And in case you haven't been convinced about how great this will actually be, here's a reminder of the groovy opening credits:

Forget haphazardly throwing on your eye-liner in the morning, because according to Drew Barrymore the key to nailing the perfect smoky eye is to apply your liner before you go to bed.

While we are having visions of serious panda eyes, the Hollywood actress has said that she loves the smudged effect of her liner after a good nights sleep.

"After I do my evening skincare routine, I line my outer lower lashes with soft-black pencil before I go to bed," the 41-year-old told Allure magazine.

"It sounds a little crazy, but I wake up with the perfect smudgy eye makeup. I can roll out of bed, do absolutely nothing, and get compliments on my makeup."

We don't know how but somehow, she is convincing us.

While this sounds to us like a disaster waiting to happen, we may just go ahead and give it a go.

What's the worst that can happen? Other than destroying our pillowcases and ending up late for work obviously.

Right, first up, if you have a ticket for one of Adele's two Dublin gigs, count yourself very, very lucky.

The roughly 45,000 tickets for the 3Arena gigs tonight (March 4) and tomorrow (March 5) sold out in minutes when they went on sale back in December.

MCD have released some important information ahead of the concerts, which we heartily suggest throwing your eyes over before heading to the 3Arena. After beating the odds and nabbing a ticket, it'd be pretty upsetting to miss out on the gig because of a mix-up with times or dates.

The main thing to make note of is that Adele's show kicks off at 8pm sharp, with no support act. Doors at the 3Arena will be open from 6.30pm, and give yourself plenty of time to get there, especially if you'll be battling Friday traffic this evening.

Secondly, anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and the standing area is for over 14s only. Good to know if you're bringing along younger kids.

After her Dublin gigs, Adele is headed for Manchester, London, Glasgow and Birmingham, before spending May and June touring the rest of Europe.

See you there!

All Saints may have brought us some classic pop tunes in their heyday but we are seriously impressed by their latest offering.

The recently reformed foursome have just released the music video for their first single from their upcoming album, One Flag, and not only do they look amazing, but they sound it too.

The song, named One Strike, is a personal one for the group as it is about the marriage split of Liam Gallagher from Nicole Appleton.

"It's not about the divorce. It's about the moment I found out what he did to me. When you hear the lyrics it all makes sense," said the 41-year-old.

It was revealed in 2013 that the Oasis singer had fathered a child with a US journalist while he was married to Nicole.

The video even ends with Nicole shedding one of Liam's trademark trench-coats and it's all kinds of brilliant.

It's safe to say over nineteen years since the girls got together, they definitely still got it.

Many of us are extremely thankful to puberty for ridding us of our awkward teenage years, but the internet thinks Bella's transformation from a fresh faced teen into a striking model is almost too lucky.

We all know that the Hadids are aesthetically gifted and we reckon Bella has probably just benefited heavily from her family's genetics and yet the dreaded words 'plastic surgery' are still being thrown around.

Pictures have been circulating of the 19-year-old taken just six years ago and people have been speculating over the transformation.

According to US magazine, Star, a 'friend' of the model reported that she had taken advantage of her wealthy background to maximise her looks.

"Bella has always been hugely insecure, but it really ramped up when Gigi started modelling.

"She really went to town with her dad's credit card and is practically unrecognisable."

However, others have noted that it is completely natural for women's faces to thin and for features to become more defined as they grow out of childhood.

So yeah, we're not sure about the validity of this one because we would like to think we also look totally different now to how we did at thirteen but there is something going on with that nose…

Just over a year after being discovered unresponsive at her Atlanta home, the cause of Bobbi Kristina Brown's death has been revealed.

The 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston died from a combination of drug intoxication and drowning, a statement from the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed this morning.

Bobbi was discovered face down in a bathtub in her suburban Atlanta townhouse on January 31, 2015. She remained on life support in hospital until June of last year, before being moved to hospice care where she passed away on July 26th.

A full autopsy report will soon be released, after a judge yesterday granted a media request for the results to be unsealed.

According to the statement released today, Bobbi had marijuana and alcohol in her system at the time of the incident, along with medications used for sedation or to treat anxiety.

TMZ report that the drugs in her system included "a cocaine-related substance called benzoylecgonine, benzodiazepines (prescription anti-anxiety meds) and morphine.

Bobbi's boyfriend Nick Gordon was last year served with a civil lawsuit by the Brown/Houston family in relation to his treatment of Bobbi before her death.

Mr Gordon, who recently completed a stint in rehab, was accused of punching his girlfriend in the face, knocking out a front tooth and dragging her upstairs by her hair.

It is also alleged that he "routinely" transferred funds "into an account controlled solely by him" without having her consent or authorisation.

Speaking to the media four months after her death, Bobbi's aunt Pat Houston said her family had known that Bobbi was in trouble with drugs and alcohol, and were hoping to send her to rehab before the January 2015 incident.

"When we really found out that Krissy [Bobbi Kristina] was in trouble, we were really making plans to do something about it… but it came too late," she said in an Entertainment Tonight interview recorded last November.

Many fans noted that Bobbi's death bore a sad resemblance to that of her mother Whitney.

The music icon was discovered submerged in a bathtub at the Beverly Hills Hilton in February 2012, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sometimes when you need it most, a guardian angel steps in to offer a helping hand.

That's what happened to one single mother this week, after she received some distressing news from her electricity supplier.

A fellow passenger on her train, which was departing an army base in Lod, Israel, described the story over Love What Matters Facebook page.

"Today, as part of my regular routine, I get on the train that leaves the Lod station at 4:27 PM on the way back home from the base.

"I sit down by the window, put in my earphones, and I begin unwinding after my day’s work, when suddenly I’m hearing a conversation from a young woman, a soldier like me, who subsists on a soldier’s salary, and an only child of a single mother.

"And she’s begging the electric company not to disconnect her electricity at home until the 28th, when her mother receives her Social Security pension (The mother subsists solely on this pension.).

"And they, as usual, are indifferent, And disconnected the electricity. Meanwhile, she’s crying hysterically.

"And then suddenly, an angel appears out of nowhere, 'Kidnaps' her phone, pays out of his own pocket her sizable debt of $500, and gives her the confirmation number. And, he did it with great love, so this young woman could regain her peace.

"A man of action, humility, and the biggest heart I’ve ever seen. I get off the train filled with hope and faith in people. There are still a few good ones who do for others without the expectation of anything in return."

The poster named the man in question, Ophir Yitchak, and even included a picture.

What a gorgeous story.

Here's hoping that woman can pay it forward and help someone else out down the line.

The eldest Beckham, Brooklyn, turns the ripe old age of 17 today, and to celebrate we've been treated to some seriously adorable throwback snaps by his proud parents.

David Beckham, who rarely goes more than a few days without sharing a sweet social media update about his kids, took to Instagram last night to wish his son a happy birthday.

"Seven years ago today this little man came into this world and changed our lives in so many ways," he wrote alongside an old black-and-white snap of himself and "Bust".

Too cute. "We were given the most precious gift that makes us smile and proud every time he walks through the door," the dad of four continued.

"Not so little anymore but look at the smile. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUST."

Brooklyn's mum Victoria dialed things back even further with her birthday post, a photo of her smiling "baby" with the caption, "Happy Birthday beautiful boy.We are so proud and love you so much."

And even Brooklyn himself got in on the throwback action, sharing yet another black-and-white childhood photo, before telling his 6.2m Instagram followers that he was excited for  his "ifrst driving lesson."

Anyone else feeling VERY old right now?
