It's that time of year again when everyone and their mother start to bring their workout indoors.

Who wants to run around in the cold anyway?!

But that doesn't mean you are limited to the treadmill or yoga mat.

Women's Health have figured out four moves that you can sneak in at home to sculpt your body without trekking in the rain to the gym.

Exercise 1 – Face-down hip external rotation

Lie face-down with your arms folded under your head, and legs extended straight behind you.

Bend your right leg, with your knee pointed out and resting on the floor, and place your foot on the back of your left knee, keeping both hips on the floor (A).

Contract your right glute and lift your right knee a few inches off the floor while trying to keep your hip down, holding for 10 seconds (B).

Relax, and repeat for 15 reps on each leg.

Exercise 2 – Windshield wiper

Bend your knees and lift your legs until your thighs are above your hips (A).

Press your palms onto the floor and lower your legs to the left. Keep your legs together the entire time (B).

Go as far as possible while keeping your right shoulder glued to the floor. Then bring your legs back to centre.

Relax, and repeat 8-12 times on each side.

Exercise 3 – Glute bridge

Lying on your back, bend your knees and place the soles of your feet flat on the floor about hip-width apart.

Your toes should point straight in front of you. Place your arms along your sides (A).

Gently press into your feet as you raise your hips up (B). Hold for five to 10 breaths.

Relax, and repeat 12-15 times.

Exercise 4 – Superman

Lie on your stomach and draw your belly button towards your spine to tighten your abs.

Keep your legs straight, arms stretched out over your head, and palms facing each other (A).

Raise your arms and legs, push your hips into the floor and engage your back muscles (B).

Hold for five to 10 seconds, then slowly lower to the floor.

Relax, and repeat 12 times.

We all know the one.

We dodge them in the weight room and God forbid we have to run on the treadmill beside them.

They just seem to make going to the gym a lot more difficult and way more time-consuming.

If you don't want to be one of these pests, here are a few simple rules for fit-i-quette (fitness etiquette, FYI):

Put it back

No one has hide and seek on their workout routine. People who move equipment around or just drop dumbells wherever they please are the most frequent and annoying offenders. If you move something, always put it back where you found it.

Wipe down equipment

This is just hygienic! Many facilities have a towelette dispenser and mostly all have hand towels. Just grab one and quickly run it along where you were working out. It doesn't take much time and is way more pleasant for the person who is next in line. Nobody wants to sit on another persons sweat. Gross.

Ditch your bags

We get that you might be in for a quick morning session but bringing your bags into the workout area isn't just annoying, it's a safety concern too. Don't make fellow exercisers hop over all your stuff.

Ask for help

Unsure how to use that workout bench? Ask! It may be intimidating asking for help but trainers encourage it. There's no point trying to figure out how to use something for twenty minutes because you're only losing workout time and it will also annoy other people in the gym waiting to use the machine after you.

Tone down the tech

While it might be all well and good to post a motivating snap pre- or post-workout, taking a million selfies during your workout is just frustrating for other people. No one wants to sit and look while you take a picture of yourself on EVERY machine.

It sounds like the perfect solution: no nasty direct debit gym memberships and no having to haul yourself from the couch to the gym on a wet and windy winter evening.

But breaking a sweat at home isn't always easy – not least when but don't have a clue where to start in terms of equipment.

In fact, if you don't choose your at-home workout stables carefully, you run the risk of wasting money on devices that are poorly designed, difficult to use or simply take up too much space.

After all, how many machines end up as clothes racks after a month or so?

So here, SHEmazing! details three of the key things you need to consider before setting up your ultimate at-home workout area:

Available space

Some machines can take up a lot of space so you need to consider where to place it. Equipment varies in size so measure everything and double check it will fit – otherwise it will probably end up in the attic or shed.

Features

A clever thing to do is make a list of all the features you want your equipment to have. This way you won't be disappointed when it arrives and only has half of the things you want. Equally, forking out for fancy-pants stuff that boasts a load of advanced specifications you don't need or want is a waste.

Budget

The best home-equipment is often expensive and you should think of it as an investment. Do keep in mind that quality matters – you will likely get a better workout from a more expensive, solidly built, and reliable machine that will hold up through daily use. Otherwise you run the risk of the machine breaking down early on.

We all have our preferences in life, but it has been debated for many years as to what drink you should consume after a workout.

Water or sports drink?

When you work out you lose electrolytes, which are essential to ensure your body's cells are working properly.

Sports drinks can help replenish electrolytes (usually sodium, chloride and potassium) lost during intense exercise, and because they contain sugar, they also give you an energy boost to help you get through your workout. But that doesn't mean you have to gulp them down pre and post-workout.

So here we look at the facts; what is better for you, and which drink supports you more:

Water works

Proper hydration is the MOST important way to protect your body before, during and after exercise. You should drink plenty of water regularly as it's the best thing for your body.

Fitness guru, Jody Swimmer says, "Most people don't drink enough water, so when you go to the water fountain in the gym, take eight big gulps. Keep going to the water fountain and always bring your water bottle."

Sports drinks have calories

This is one downside to sports drinks. For everyone on a calorie-controlled diet, this is something to consider.

"Sports drinks typically have calories, and if you're trying to watch your calories, those can sneak up on you," Swimmer says.

In fact, sports or energy drinks have nearly the same amount of sugar and calories as a fizzy drinks or fruit juice. That can add up quickly if you down a couple of sports drinks throughout the day – especially if you drink them when not exercising.

Consider how hard you exercise

Jody also notes that most people don't need sports drinks because generally they don't work out hard enough to require them.

Only people who work out heavily – like weight-lifters or long distance runners – might benefit from sports drinks.

So in some ways, yes, sports drinks can benefit you greatly but if you only work out for an hour or two a day they are really not needed.

For moderate work-outs, avoid calories and just drink plenty of water to fuel your body.

She has one of the most coveted figures in Hollywood – and Sarah Hyland has now shared some insight into just how hard she works to get that killer body.

The actress, who over the weekend also shared a serious #bodygoals gym snap in which she dons a tiny monochrome crop top, has revealed that when it comes to exercise, she LOVES to mix it up.

The 24-year-old New Yorker, who is currently embarking on a more intense training schedule, took to Instagram last night. In the resulting snap, shared with her 2.2million followers, Sarah dons a tiny grey and neon crop-top and navy Yoga pants.

She is suspended from the ceiling – evidently taking part in a challenging aerial silks workout.

"Stepping out of my box and trying new fun things for myself!" she captioned the photograph, adding lightheartedly: "Gonna join the circus."

Also known as antigravity yoga, the exercise involves a mixture of the likes of yoga, ballet and Pilates – all carried out on silk hammocks. Advocates say it strengthens, lengthens and tones your physique fast.

However, in the March issue of Cosmopolitian, Ms Hyland furthermore admitted that she's a big fan of fast food. The Modern Family star even said she "would eat Taco Bell every day!" if she thought she could get away with it.

She is currently dating Dominic Sherwood, 25, an actor and model, and the pair regularly go hiking, biking and walking together around Los Angeles.

Megafamous A-listers seemingly don’t just do standard walk-in wardrobes – they have entire closets dedicated to specific clothing.

Take Khloe Kardashian, for example: she has wardrobe space solely for her gym gear, fitness accessories, and workout attire.

Though maybe that’s hardly surprising.

After all, the reality TV star is regularly photographed heading to and from her private workout sessions with trainer Gunnar Peterson – and is rarely spotted in the same exercise item twice (that and she uses a Chanel leather backpack to drag around her gear).

She's also just starred in a workout-inspired shoot for Complex, and often posts images of her fitness routine to her Instagram account.

Now, in the most recent edition of Self magazine, Khloe gives her fans a tour of the 14sq metre space that houses runners, sports bras, workout clothing in every imaginable hue, sweatbands, fitness equipment and even a mini fridge stocked with Fiji water.

The area was custom created by LA Closet Design based on the 31-year-old’s daily needs.

“Khloé loves the glass display for her accessories,” said CEO Lisa Adams. “It’s a suede-lined shelf that displays head and wrist bands, sunglasses, hair ties and more.

“I added LED lighting so the case lights up with the flip of a switch — these items get lost and disorganized in drawers, so I wanted to make sure they were beautifully displayed.”

Lisa added: “My favorite part is the shoe area. I keep envisioning my own sneakers being displayed in the way Khloé’s are!”

Ms Kardashian, who has shed a significant amount of weight over the last year and who said she was drawn to the gym when her marriage to ex husband Lamar Odom went sour, also raved about the closet to Self.

“I’m in love with my fitness closet,” she beamed. “I genuinely show it off to all of my friends when they are over.”

Below are all the snaps of her amazing closet space: be prepared for major life envy…

Actress Kate Hudson has always been something of a fitness fanatic, and if these latest photos are anything to go by, she's upped her game of late.

The blonde beauty is currently enjoying a holiday on the island of Skiathos off Greece with her mum Goldie Hawn, and is taking every opportunity to show off her toned beach body.

The How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days star posted a picture to Instagram yesterday proving just how much her hard work in the gym has paid off. Posing on a low wall next to a swimming pool, Kate looked every inch the Greek goddess:

We've already printed it off and stuck it on the fridge…

If you were thinking that Kate's incredible-looking figure might be the work of some clever angles and Instagram filtering, you'd be wrong, as Kate was snapped by photographers in the exact same bikini just hours later while looking equally fabulous.

The actress headed to the beach with her mum and two friends, and while her two sons Bingham and Ryder are also on the trip they were nowhere to be seen. Maybe it's best – they probably wouldn't have been too keen to join in on this group photo:

Kate has spoken in the past about her love of exercise, saying she's happy even to get a short session in every day.

"I wouldn't say [I work out] a lot, just consistently," she told reporters at the Golden Globes this year, where she wowed in a skintight white Versace dress.

"People think for some reason you have to work out for two and a half hours… but, it can be little. It can be 20 minutes, it could be 40 minutes," she explained.

While her usual routine is a mile-long run three times a week, followed by a Pilates class, Kate says she has other options for when she's short on time. "I love skipping with a rope because it's one of the hardest cardio exercises you can do, but it's so easy. I do three sets of three minutes; I'm always shocked at how sweaty I get."

Sounds like a good system to us!

Sport England have launched their Girl Can campaign – and it is incredible! Women of all different shapes and sizes take on sport from basketball to dancing and spinning – and nail it, of course!

Featuring slogans like “I jiggle therefore I am”, “hot and not bothered” and “sweating like a pig, feeling like a fox” the video shows the gals killing it to Missy Elliot’s Get Your Freak On.

The aim of the campaign is to encourage women to take up more sport and exercise and to cure the fear of judgment, as Jennie Price of Sport England explained: “We looked very carefully at what women were saying about why they felt sport and exercise was not for them. One of the strongest themes was fear of judgment. Worries about being judged for being the wrong size, not fit enough and not skilled enough came up time and time again. We want to address that.”

We’re not sure about you but that song is definitely going on our workout playlist!
