Stop everything.

Rumours of a Friends reunion have been circulating for years, and now our prayers have finally been answered.

Friends! The Musical is happening.

Yes, that’s right. Prepare to get up close and personal with some of television's most loved characters –Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Joey and Chandler are back, only this time they’ll be live on stage, belting out a tune or two.

According to The Huffington Post, the song list includes some hilariously titled hits such as:

  • We Were on a Break!

  • How You Doing, Ladies?

  • The Only Coffee Shop in New York City

  • Oh. My. God. It’s Janice!

  • Could I BE Any More… in Love with Monica?

  • We’ll Always Be There For You

Although the show is not officially endorsed by the creators of the sitcom, the script will focus entirely on the original gang and is set to include some of their most memorable hijinks.

The stage show was written by Bob and Tobly McSmith who have had off-Broadway success with their musical parodies of 90210 and Keeping up with the Kardashians.

Friends! The Musical will open in New York’s Triad Theater this autumn, and with no further shows scheduled, we can only wait in hope that the spectacle will make it across the pond!

Oh, and while we have you; don't forget to have your say in the inaugural SHEmazing Awards this May! It's time to vote, and you can do it right here!

If you're one of the millions who still knows the lyrics to My Lovely Horse off by heart, you may need to sit down before reading on.

According to emerging reports, the people behind our beloved Fr Ted are not adverse to the notion of bringing Craggy Island, and the folk who populate it, to the big stage.

Speaking to the Sunday Business Post, the show's creator, Graham Linehan, acknowledged that the transition would have to facilitate a fairly whopper storyline.

"It would have to be about Ted becoming Pope, or some weird succession thing that means Ted’s next in line. It would have to be substantial and big," he argued.

"I think there is an argument you could make a Ted musical where you really go for the jugular and you get all the things people loved about it, all the innocence and all the sweetness, but introduce a harder edge."

Anyone else see Graham Norton reprising the role of Fr. Noel Furlong for this one?!

After the success of La La Land, it looks like musicals are about to become a bit more main stream this year…

And, a new musical has been bought by Fox which will tell the story of Pharrell Williams' life.

The project, named Atlantis, has been described as a Romeo and Juliet type story with a musical element, inspired by Pharrell's young years in Virginia Beach.

A post shared by Pharrell Williams (@pharrell) on

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Mayer, who is known for his Broadway work on Spring Awakening (which he won a Tony for) and American Idiot, is attached to direct while, Martin Hynes, who is currently writing Toy Story 4, is said to be writing the script.

We could be super naive here, but does Pharrell have a majorly dramatic back-story that we don't know about?!

You would be lying to yourself if you said you didn't enjoy a musical every now and then.

Remember that episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, when the entire cast sang like it was a Broadway show?

Well, it's happening again, with your favourite girls from Rosewood.

That's right ladies, the Pretty Little Liars are warming up their vocal chords, for the performance of a lifetime.

Earlier this month on the Television Critics Association press tour, PLL executive producer Oliver Goldstick revealed that the new, and final, season will include a musical episode.

How INTERESTING!

"All of them have incredible hidden talents and singing happens to be one of them,” he explained at the press conference.

He continued: “I thought it was a shame that we didn’t utilise that, and we found a way to platform it in one of the episodes in the last 10.”

This may come as a surprise to some of you, but quite a few members of the PLL cast are talented singers, including Lucy Hale, Keegan Allen and Janel Parish.

We are imaging Toby serenading us through the TV screen (shirtless, obviously!).

Pretty Little Liars will return to our screens on Tuesday, April 18… WOOHOO.

Yesterday, the Internet was FILLED with Mean Girls memes and gifs to celebrate, October 3 which is Mean Girls Day.

We'll never forget the moment Aaron Samuels asked Cady what day it was…

Well, now the creators are going one further by announcing a Mean Girls musical is definitely on its way.

The official Twitter for the movie took to the social media site and wrote: "BREAKING Oct 3rd NEWS! The Mean Girls musical is coming to Washington DC Fall of 2017!"

And if the next tweet was anything to go by, we're guessing the set list is going to have some major songs on it.

Tina Fey has been wanting this for years now and multiple sources are reporting that the project is a collaboration with her husband, composer Jeffrey Richmond, and Tony Award-nominated lyricist Nell Benjamin.

We're excited!

The last time Vanessa Hudgens was in a musical set in high school – creatively called High School Musical – she was the Sandy of the group.

But now the brunette beauty has turned over a new leaf to play the cool gal of the pack.

Vanessa has scored the role of Rizzo for Fox's Grease Live production. And she pulls off the sexy look VERY well.

And as always the girl has got the moves, as seen in the new teaser trailer:

We don't know about you, but we love Ms Hudgens playing the bad girl.

Katy Perry might be taking on one of her biggest roles to date soon; yes, Katy is in the mix of names to play Cher Horowitz in the upcoming Clueless musical.

Amy Heckerling, who directed the 1995 film and is currently in control of its musical adaptation, opened up to Vulture about her dream choice to play the part that was made famous by Alicia Silverstone.

"I love Katy Perry," Amy said, and then revealed that the singer has already "expressed interest" in filling Cher's Jimmy Choos.

However, before we all start losing our minds over this, Amy did say that nothing is set in stone.

"You never know what will happen, she has a whole big schedule," she explained, adding that her initial response to the offer was more optimistic than official: "It was like, I love it, I wish I could do it." Oh.

So while it still remains uncertain if Katy will make her Broadway debut wearing yellow plaid-on-plaid, we still think this modern remake is going to be totally kick-ass.

But the question remains, would anybody else be better suited to playing Cher? As if!

This story will either make your day or break your faith with society… so get ready for it.

Spongebob Squarepants is getting a Broadway musical.

Still, even if you have lost all confidence in humanity, wait until you hear who is contributing to the new musical.

In a press release from Broadway in Chicago, it was revealed that some of the biggest names in the music industry are taking part in the show.

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, John Legend, Cyndi Lauper, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T's, T.I. and even David Bowie is contributing towards a special song.

The show will have a pre-season run in Chicago before heading to Broadway for 2016-2017 season.

Casting is being kept tight-lipped but the press release did tease some very basic plot details.

"The end is near. Only one sponge can save the day. But he's going to need help from some of the greatest songwriters in rock and pop music history."

"The SpongeBob Musical is a rousing tale of a simple sea sponge who faces the unfathomable. It's a celebration of unbridled hope, unexpected heroes, and pure theatrical invention."

We really don't know what to think of this one but one thing's for sure, it will be wacky!

Praise the musical gods!

Not only are we being gifted with the news that a Clueless musical is in the works, now one of our most favourite TV shows of all time is having a musical adaptation.

Creator of Cruel Intentions: The Musical are developing a new take on the hit Fox teen drama The O.C. There’s even a Twitter account for the new musical.

We can hardly contain our excitement. Christmukkah has come early for all the of the shows many, many loyal fans.

Director Lindsey Rosin and producer Jordan Ross shared a snap of the score on Friday with the lyrics to the song Paint the Silence. Die hard Ryan/Marissa fans will remember that song was playing during an oh-so important moment for the pair.

The series ran for 4 seasons from 2003-2007 (although to be fair most Marissa fans ignore season 4 entirely).

There’s no word as of yet who has been cast to play either Ryan (originally played by Ben McKenzie) or Marissa (Mischa Barton). A few of the other favourites have been cast though. Drew Sheely will appear as Luke “welcome to the O.C b***h” Ward and Christine Lakin will be Kirsten Cohen.

‘What about Seth and Summer?’ you cry. Or even Princess Sparkles and the famous daring Captain Oats? We’ll just have to wait and see, unfortunately.

The O.C: The Musical will begin its run at the end of August this year, it hasn’t yet been announced where though. Is it too much to hope that Dublin might be a worthy spot for the new show?

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed and indulging in some marathon re-watches in the meantime. And yes we will be practicing all of the words to the theme song while we’re at it.

Irish talent on the stage is certainly alive and kicking – as evident by Big Shot, an original musical that has earned an incredible five-night run this summer at the esteemed San Diego International Fringe Festival.

Created by 22-year-old Malahide-native Lauryn Gaffney (pictured above), Big Shot also plays the Sugar Club in Dublin on Wednesday May 14.

Including plenty of energetic and poignant songs, it very much has a big, Broadway feel to it, and it has already won plaudits from national media.

“To have been accepted into the 2015 San Diego Fringe is a dream come true for not only myself, but also the cast and musicians,” Lauryn said recently in response to the good news. She added that the festival is “one of the most exciting arts and culture events in North America”.

Big Shot certainly has a big Broadway feel to it

When she’s not putting pen to paper, DCU-graduate Lauryn is also an in-demand vocal trainer and, despite her age, she has already been writing songs for a decade.

Earlier this year, her musical enjoyed sell-out performances in The O’Reilly Theatre, the Helix and St Patrick’s College in Drumcondra – meaning the once-off Sugar Club staging it likely to sell-out in advance too.

The Big Shot plot details the adventures of Jeremy Crocker, a savvy defense lawyer thriving in New York City’s bustling legal profession. Despite his ambitions, Crocker falls in love with Carrie, a struggling Irish artist – a romance which then threatens to derail his career when he becomes involved in a dubious new case.

Tickets cost €12 excluding booking fee. See thesugarclub.com for more details. The May 14 show begins at 8pm.

It has been announced that singer Nicole Scherzinger will star in the upcoming production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats.

The former X Factor judge will make her West End debut when the acclaimed musical returns to London’s Palladium Theatre at Christmas.

The 36-year-old will be playing the role of Grizabella, the formerly “glamorous” cat who seeks acceptance within the tribe. Well, she has certainly got the glamour down!

The exciting news was shared via the official Cats Twitter page, along with a photo of Nicole and the show’s creator, Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Nicole, who is engaged to British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, expressed her delight at her new venture, describing the role as “a dream come true.”

She said: “I am really thrilled to be making my West End debut in such an iconic show and I couldn’t be more excited…Andrew's score is breathtaking and I am truly honoured to have been asked to take part in what I know will be a very special time in my career. I can't wait to begin rehearsals."

It is undoubtedly a huge role, but Nicole is certainly well able to belt out the tunes. We think she is an amazing choice for the part.

Lily Allen has confirmed the disappointing news that her music has been taken off the upcoming Bridget Jones West End musical. It would seem that the author of the popular books, Helen Fielding, has decided to go in a different direction in relation to the musical.

The singer was speaking to The Sun when she said: “I wrote some great music for it but Helen Fielding wants to go back and write a whole new story. It’s been a long-term project and I was happy to do my bit but I’m now out of the picture.”

The musical has been in the pipeline since 2011 and it has been said actress Sheridan Smith may be the on-stage Bridget Jones, as she has previously played the quirky character in a workshop production of the musical.

We’re actually disappointed by this story – don’t you think Lily’s music would be perfect for a Bridget Jones musical. Or movie…hmm! Who knows what the future holds!
