Christmas shopping has left my bank account looking pretty tragic so I’ll be spending my Friday night at home.

Luckily, I’ll be pleasantly entertained with dozens of shows and movies airing on the TV across the weekend.

As usual, I will be tuning into The Graham Norton Show which never fails to make Friday nights that little bit better. The chat show is bound to cheer us up on this quiet Friday with another stellar line-up.

The Corkman will be joined by the legend that is Judi Dench, who will chat about her iconic career.

Hugh Grant also joins Graham on tonight’s show and we’re eager to see what the Notting Hill actor says about those election results. He will be promoting his new movie The Gentlemen.

And that’s not all.

Christmas crooner Michael Bublé is appearing on the show.

And there’s more.

Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey, who stars alongside Grant, will join his co-star to discuss their movie The Gentlemen.

There will be music from Coldplay who will perform their new song Everyday Life.

The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC1 at 11.25pm.

Chris Martin has really been making the most of his time in Ireland.

From a sold out performance at Croke Park, to a training session with Conor McGregor's coach, the Coldplay frontman has really embraced the Irish spirit.

Over the last few days, the British singer has been spotted around the capital, taking selfies with fans and just being an absolute gent really.

Last night, the 40-year-old popped into the International Bar where he met fan, Jamie Harrington, who was working behind the bar at the time.

During their friendly chat, Jamie told Chris how he paid a tout €200 for his Coldplay ticket after he failed to secure one through general sale.

The story clearly struck a chord with the singer, who upon hearing the price of the ticket, offered to refund Jamie €50.00.

As if we need another reason to love him.

Coldplay put on a massive performance in Croke Park last night, and absolutely stunned crowds with their concert.

From playing some old favourites, to brand new hits, they certainly went all out for the Irish fans.

If you weren't lucky enough to head along (or hear it from your back garden), here are ten tweets that pretty much sum up the night:

Following last month's horrific Manchester Arena attack, concert venues across the world have been cracking down on security.

Croke Park is following suit, as Gardaí and MCD promotions have issued a warning before tonight's Coldplay gig.

First up, Gardai have advised that people allow extra time to get to Croke Park,  as there will be full body and bag searches for everyone to gain entry.

An armed support unit will also be at the scene.

Inspector Tony Gallagher told The Irish Examiner that the Gardaí are well prepared.

'We've a very robust policing and traffic plan in relation to it and we've some 180 personnel working at the event.'

'We're there really to facilitate the enjoyment of this concert by the 82,000 fans,' he said.

Big bags, backpack, selfie sticks, and large umbrellas are also banned from the concert.

For the countless fans who missed out on a Coldplay ticket last Friday morning, the latest news to emerge on the back of the Ticketmaster controversy won't make for pleasant reading today.

According to reports, Coldplay will not – repeat, will not –  be adding a second date to the Irish leg of their tour.

Dashing the hopes of fans around the country, MCD manager Denis Desmond confirmed that the suggestion simply isn't an option for Chris and the lads.

"There won’t be a second Coldplay gig in Dublin. They don’t have the time." he confirmed when quizzed on the issue.

“The band is playing only 15 gigs in Europe next Summer and only two in the UK," he added.

While their Irish fans won't be treated to a second date, a number of other European cities are getting the two-day treatment.

Bitter? Us? Yes.

In case you missed it, tickets for Coldplay's Croke Park gig went on sale yesterday morning, and despite queuing, refreshing, sweating and praying, countless fans emerged from their mission empty-handed.

And if Twitter is anything to go by, disgruntled fans know exactly who they want to blame.

Venting fury at Ticketmaster, members of the public have accused the outlet of providing their sister company with tickets which were ultimately sold at a higher price – an accusation which the company have denied.

Between the gig selling out in under forty minutes and tickets going for re-sale soon after, Twitter is not happy.

If you're one of the thousands who have spent all week salivating over the thought of getting your hands on a Coldplay ticket, then it's likely you're pretty disappointed right now.

While countless fans prepped and primed themselves for this morning's ticket release, it looks like it just wasn't meant to be for so many Irish fans today.

According to emerging reports this morning, the Croke Park gig sold out in apparently just one minute… although we're thinking approximately 30 is more likely.

And Twitter is not happy at all.

Considering the pure angst on Twitter this morning, you'd swear no one was going, but you'd be wrong…

Aw, way to rub it in our faces, lads!

Earlier this week Coldplay hinted that they could be making their much anticipated return to Ireland as part of their 2017 European Tour.

And now the news has been confirmed as Lovin Dublin has reported that the band will play Croke Park next July.

Tickets will go on sale for the July 8 gig this coming Friday, October 7.

Ever since news broke yesterday that much-loved and highly-acclaimed actor, Gene Wilder, had passed away, social media has been awash with tributes to the star.

From those in the industry to movie fans, Gene's passing at the age of 83 has struck a chord with millions all over the world today.

Paying tribute to the original Willy Wonka, Coldplay uploaded an impromptu performance of Pure Imagination – one of the most widely recognised songs from 1971's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

After finishing one of their own tracks at a concert in Denver last night, the lads launched into Pure Imagination, and it is definitely one of those moments which will stick with every concert-goer in attendance.

"This is so special. Would have loved to have been there. How lovely are those lyrics," wrote one fan on Twitter while another added: "Say what you want about @coldplay but they know how to bash out a heartwarming tribute."

Ladies, how perfect is this?

We all love James Corden and his Carpool Karaoke ways, but in this latest video, he's totally blown us away.

Coldplay performed at the Hollywood Rose Bowl last night, and frontman Chris Martin, invited James up on stage to sing with the band and pay tribute to Prince.

When James got up on stage, the crowd (93,000 people) clearly staggered him as he said: "I'll be honest I didn't know how big it was when I said 'yes' so I'm a little nervous."

However, we he started singing… his voice, it's just ah-mazing:

Happy birthday, James!

Coldplay have become the kings of the music festival circuit, and this year's Glastonbury was NO exception. This was Coldplay's fourth time headlining the 45 year old music festival, and it was an extra special gig for the band's front man.

Proud dad Chris Martin was joined on stage by his two gorgeous blond children, Apple and Moses, while their Mother Gwyneth Paltrow watched in the wings.

The kiddies, along with two of their cousins, sang back up during the song Up and Up, and the crowd loved every second of this family affair. Maintaining music festival tradition, the young vocalists wore wellies and warm clothes on the Pyramid shaped stage.

Chris Martin, 39, and Gwyneth Paltrow,43, filed for divorce in 2015, with the final papers being signed just last month. The pair have been making headlines due to their particularly civilised split, remaining great friends, and are raising their children together.

It's pretty safe to say that carpool karaoke with top name celebrities is an ingenious concept for a chat show segment, especially when James Corden is involved.

After his gas trip with Adele around London, he has now taken Coldplay's Chris Martin out for a bit of a spin.

Well not a spin per say, he's actually giving Chris a lift to his hotly anticipated Superbowl performance next week (for the purposes of the video anyway).

While Justin Bieber will always be our favourite episode of carpool karaoke followed closely by One Direction, this one is definitely up there.

The segments form part of James' hit US show, the Late Late Show with James Corden

Watch Chris and James chat and have a little sing along in another hilarious edition:
