Netflix has released the trailer for the highly-anticipated limited series All the Light We Cannot See.

This series is an adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize winning novel All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.

Set during World War II, it tells the story of a blind French girl called Marie-Laure Leblanc (Aria Mia Loberti), who is taking refuge with her father and uncle in France, and Werner (Louis Hofmann), a brilliant teenager with an expertise in radio repair, who has been enlisted by Hitler’s regime.

Marie-Laure and Werner share a secret connection that will become a beacon of light that leads them through the harrowing backdrop of WWII.

The trailer sees Marie-Laure bravely admit, “I know that broadcasting could get me executed, but I will not be silenced”, as a bomb hits where she is broadcasting from before she continues on with her radio show.

While Marie-Laure shares her anti-facist ideas over the radio which could cost her her life, Werner is ordered to find and kill the woman because she goes against Hitler’s ideology.

Werner is told, “You are going to find her and you will kill this girl yourself. If you fail, you will die first”, by an officer after he admits, “The things that I’ve seen haunt me. Her voice was my escape”

The show, made up of four episodes that have been directed by Shawn Levy, stars Louis Hofmann, Lars Eidinger, Marion Bailey, Hugh Laurie, Mark Ruffalo, and newcomer Aria Mia Loberti.

All the Light We Cannot See will be landing on Netflix on November 2.

Hayley Hughes has been opening up about her motherhood experience.

The former Love Island star, who found fame on the ITV dating show back in 2018, welcomed the birth of her first child, a baby boy named Cody, in August.

As she settles into life as a new mum, Hayley has shared some details of how she’s finding being a new mum.

Opening up in a Q&A on social media, Hayley answered any burning questions from her 752K followers about being Cody’s mum.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the 27-year-old answered a question that asked, ‘How are you finding being a new mum??’.

Hayely responded with a snap of her baby boy sitting in his car seat as she wrote, “Oh I love it. It’s honestly the best job in the whole world”.

“Since I fell pregnant I have never felt so happy and content in my whole life, but life just got even better when my little person came along”.

She added, “I feel so lucky that I get to experience a love like this & I still can’t believe I created something so perfect & that he is mine”.

The former reality TV star was then asked about her birth story, to which she revealed she decided to have a planned C-section.

Hughes explained, “I loved my birth, I opted for a planned C section & I wouldn’t change a single thing, it was so magical and the recovery was great too! I liked the whole idea of being prepared and knowing when and how Cody was coming into the world”.

“I got to film the whole thing and pick some songs that I wanted to be played during my baby boy coming into the world”.

Hayley was asked about how her overall pregnancy was before baby Cody arrived. She admitted, “I absolutely loved my pregnancy but every pregnancy is different. I wanted Cody for so long so when it happened it felt like a dream & I felt SO lucky. I just couldn’t believe it”.

“I think it’s honestly so magical growing your own little person. Don’t get me wrong the last 6 weeks I did really struggle with the extra weight/ skin changes etc and just didn’t feel myself but in that time I just spent my time doing things that I enjoyed doing and that really helped”.

When announcing the birth of her son with her partner whose identity she keeps private, Hayley described the tot as ‘precious’.

She penned, “You are everything & more than we could have ever imagined my precious boy. I can’t believe you are ours to love forever, my little family of 3”.

There’s a new biopic film that we can’t wait to watch!

Fresh off the success of last year’s Elvis biopic starring Austin Butler, a new film is about to be released based on the singer’s former wife, Priscilla Presley.

Simply titled Priscilla, the film has been written and directed by Sofia Coppola, and will star On the Basis of Sex actress Cailee Spaeny in the titular role.

Movie fans can watch the trailer here:

The trailer begins with Priscilla being asked in her place of work if she likes Blue Suede Shoes hitmaker Elvis. “Of course, who doesn’t?” she replies.

The trailer then showcases the pair’s eventual fall into romance, and even includes several shots of their iconic wedding in May 1967.

However, the teaser video also displays snippets of the couple’s turmoil, depicting the effects of Elvis’ numerous rumoured affairs.

Alongside Spaeny, the film also stars The Kissing Booth and Euphoria star Jacob Elordi as the late crooner, who died four years after his divorce from Priscilla was finalised.

In its logline for the highly-anticipated biopic, production company A24 teases: "Through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla's long courtship and turbulent marriage, from a German army base to his dream-world estate at Graceland, in this deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy and fame.”

The upcoming movie has already received vast critical acclaim and Oscar buzz, with Spaeny winning the award for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long before Priscilla hits the big screen, as the biopic is due to arrive in cinemas on November 3.

Fans have been reacting to Stacey Solomon’s newest Halloween porch, which is definitely decoration goals!

The Sort Your Life Out host is known for going all-out when it comes to seasonal decorations. In particular, fans look forward to October every year, as Stacey takes the opportunity to deck out the front porch of so-called Pickle Cottage with a mesmerising display.

However, this year, the mum-of-five has revealed that there is a sentimental twist to her decorations, as she has created them in tribute to her daughter Rose.

Last night, Stacey’s 5.8M Instagram followers were delighted when she took to the platform to unveil her porch display for this Halloween season.

The video sweetly showcases Rose, who will be turning two tomorrow (October 4), throwing a mini pumpkin into the air as the exterior of Pickle Cottage is transformed.

For this year’s theme, Stacey has gone for several pops of colour, as beautiful lilac and blue pumpkins surround the front door. The pumpkins themselves are also intermixed with stunning bunches of flowers.

As she opens her eyes to the magical sight, toddler Rose can be heard exclaiming: “Oh my goodness! Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins!”

In the caption of her post, Stacey then went on to describe the inspiration behind the wonderful design.

“Decided to make our autumn door tradition all about rose this year, for her birthday. She loves pumpkins & her favourite colours are ‘pink, purple, orange & blue’ so she told me, so here it is…” the 33-year-old teased.

“Used all of our old pumpkins & flowers from over the years just painted a few & added some of farmer Scott’s fresh ones too. Happy Autumn Everyone,” Stacey gushed.

Following her incredible reveal, many of Stacey’s fans have since been complimenting her on her Halloween porch.

“It looks amazing and she's so happy,” one follower replied.

“This is the most beautiful door you've done yet,” another praised.

“Oh look at her little face!! Good choice rose, it looks amazing,” a third fan added.

Spotify’s CEO has shared the reason why Meghan Markle’s podcast was cancelled after one season.

The Duchess of Sussex launched her first-ever podcast, Archetypes, on the audio streaming service in August of last year.

After signing a reported $20M deal, the podcast was produced by Archewell Audio, which Meghan founded with her husband Prince Harry.

However, after just twelve episodes of the show, it was announced that Archetypes would not be returning.

Now, a few months after the cancellation was confirmed, the chief executive of Spotify has detailed the thought process behind it.

In an interview with Zoe Kleinman for the BBC, Spotify’s CEO Daniel Ek was asked: “You had some pretty big names. You had the Obamas. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Was that worth the £18m?”

"We thought new innovation was needed to happen here,” Elk explained in response, adding: “We thought we can come in and offer a great experience that both makes consumers very happy and allows new creators new avenues."

Elk went on to note that the projects were trial and error with Spotify listeners.

“The truth of the matter is some of it has worked, some of it hasn't. We're learning from those and we are moving on and we wish all of the ones we didn't renew with the best of success they can have going forward,” he stated.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex initially signed their deal with Spotify back in December 2020, several months after they exited their royal life and moved to California.

Archetypes was initially successful, with 42-year-old Meghan managing to land star-studded guests such as Serena Williams and Mariah Carey. The series also became the number one Spotify podcast in several countries, including the UK, Canada, Australia and the United States.

However, in a joint statement released on June 16, both companies announced the end of their contract, confirming: “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series that we made together.”

Pharmacists may soon be able to distribute the contraceptive pill without a prescription from a GP under a new Bill.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly will bring the idea to the Cabinet to seek approval for the plans under the general scheme and draft of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill.

Free contraception is currently available from GPs to women aged over 17 but under 30.

The new law will see the contraceptive pill be readily available over-the-counter, following a ‘structured consultation’.

This new Bill aims to expand the use of pharmacists nationwide while alleviating pressure on GPs and making access to oral contraceptives easier.

Chair of the Irish Pharmacy Union’s Pharmacy Contractors Committee , Kathy Maher, welcomes the proposal, explaining, “Pharmacists have been campaigning for contraception to be made available direct from pharmacies for several years and this development will be warmly welcomed”.

“Pharmacists are highly trained and experienced in contraceptive care, having supplied emergency hormonal contraception to women without a prescription for over a decade”.

She continued, “Surveys have consistently shown that many women would prefer to access contraception direct from their pharmacy rather than requiring a GP visit and this proposed move increases the options for women”.

“The WHO has stated that there is no clinical reason for the oral contraception to remain on a prescription only basis. Expanding the accessibility of contraception in this way will have a positive impact on Irish healthcare”.

Maher added, “This is a welcome first step to expand the healthcare provided in Irish pharmacies. The profession eagerly awaits the outcomes of the Minister for Health’s expert group on this subject which we hope will usher in a more comprehensive expansion of pharmacy care.”

A report by the National Women’s Council of Ireland found that the ‘biggest barrier to contraception’ was not due to financial constraints but because of a lack of access to services in their locality.

In an interview with OK!, Ferne admitted that she has received “some stick” from This Morning viewers, after she went on the show and recalled her “euphoric” labour experience.

“People have said it’s an unrealistic representation of birth, but I can only speak on behalf of my experience,” the 33-year-old insisted.

“We shouldn’t take away women’s rights to share their birth stories, positive or negative. For me, I want to shout it from the rooftops because it was amazing,” she continued.

Ferne, who gave birth to Finty at home a week early and completed her labour in just a few hours, went on to note that she was “proud” of herself.

“I said I was just a vessel and Finty birthed herself. She really did. I knew I had to surrender and I had read so much about this going into the birth because I wanted to understand the science behind the hormones,” she explained.

The reality star, who filmed her second child’s birth for My Family & Me, also teased that she would be open to taking it one step further next time.

“I’d 100% live stream my next birth,” she admitted. “I just feel so passionate about sharing how beautiful and positive birth can be. You can be in control.”

“I don’t want to come across as smug, or for people to think, ‘It’s alright for her’. But in the same breath, I don’t want to not tell my story because of the fear that people might think that way of me,” she added.

A recent survey in Forbes revealed that 84% of women are unaware that menopause can affect your oral health. According to Galway based dentist Dr Vanessa Creaven, perimenopause and menopause can have a significant effect on your oral health.

‘’Changing hormonal levels with oestrogen in particular can cause you to have an increased susceptibility to gum disease and inflammation. There are a number of oestrogen receptors in the mouth and there are a number of trials that show a drop in oestrogen levels during menopause, which may present as a dry mouth and or burning mouth syndrome.

Dr Vanessa Creaven, CEO Spotlight Oral Care

Dry mouth can increase patients' susceptibility to decay and cavities. Burning mouth syndrome is one of the major complications that are seen in menopausal and perimenopausal women. This is a chronic condition characterised by a burning sensation of the mouth. Ensuring the patients have a low plaque level and excellent oral hygiene with monitoring diet is essential to minimise disease.’’

If you do have a dry mouth, it is essential that you are supplementing your oral health with clinically proven active ingredients as the risk of getting a lot of cavities is significantly higher. Use toothpastes with clinically proven active ingredients that target cavities and gum disease, and avoid any toothpastes with harsh chemicals that will further irritate the tissues of the mouth. When you have a dry mouth, your mouth will be more sensitive and sore. Pay particular attention to the ingredient SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate). It is a known irritant and can lead to more ulceration and inflammation in your mouth.

The menopause may influence women’s confidence and mood, which can lead to increased snacking on sugary foods and drinks. This can increase the risk of tooth decay and gum disease due to increased plaque levels on the teeth.

Dr Vanessa Creaven advises to continue to visit your dentist and hygienist regularly. A full examination should be completed if you do feel you are suffering from any of the named symptoms. Brushing after meals, flossing daily and eating a balanced diet can keep your teeth and gums healthier.
