Many would say that working with a computer is not exhausting. You're sitting down all day right?

However, every single office worker out there will sigh and roll their eyes at that statement.

Because, guess what? Office workers all want to faceplant onto the couch the minute they get home (we should know).

Well, for all those naysayers out there, science has actually proven that staring at a screen all day is pretty tiring.

'Mental fatugue' can be just as bad as going through an intense workout, and you can get it from being really stressed out, or even over-thinking things.

Speaking to The Cut, Dr Steven Feinsilver, who is a director of sleep medicine, said: “Your heart will pump and you’ll produce adrenaline whether somebody’s chasing you, or you’re just really upset about something.

In other words, if you’re conscious, your brain demands your energy, and will therefore exhaust you when all of your energy is used up.

“We’re animals that are designed to exercise physically as well as mentally,” he says. “Mental exertion is real, and certainly tiring."

See? We knew it all along.

We love our tea and probably drink over ten five cups every day.

But, do you ever wonder why sometimes your cuppa tastes different?

Your mug in the morning might taste different to the one you have in work or in the local cafe.

Well, according to a documentary which aired on BBC2, Inside The Factory, there's a specific science to making a good brew.

And it all has to do with the amount of time you leave the teabag stewing in your cup.

Dr Stuart Farrimond suggest that leaving the bag in for five minutes exactly is how to get the most out of your cuppa, and depending on how long you leave it in for, it will taste different each and every time.

And apparently, Dr Stuart says that the colour of your mug or cup can also impact the way we taste tea.

The documentary noted that people who have a sweet tooth tend to go for a red or pink cup, while fans of savoury food like white or blue mugs because it brings out the *saltiness* of a cuppa.

We think we need to go boil the kettle now…

Did you tune into the Eurovision this year?

New figures released by the Freedom of Information Act reveal that RTÉ spent a massive €331,000 to send Brendan Murray over to the Eurovision Song Contest.

The figures, which were released to The Herald, saw that the entry fee was €84,500, however that does not include labour costs.

16 people flew over to the Ukraine with Brendan, which included his tour manager, a vocal coach, a photographer, five backing singers, and RTÉ’s head of press.

As most of us know, the former Hometown star failed to take Ireland to the final, but RTÉ believe that the event gave viewers some great entertainment.

A spokesperson for the national broadcaster said: “This year, an average 273,000 viewers tuned in over the course of the three nights of the contest, representing a 21pc share.

“[This is] excellent value for money for RTÉ and for Irish television licence-fee payers”.

Maha Al-Adheem, the 42-year-old accused of murdering her three-year-old son, was reportedly too unwell to attend court today.

The GP's condition was confirmed by Det Sergeant Brendan O’Halloran who told the court: "She is not going to be produced today, she is sick, judge.”

Maha Al-Adheem, who appeared in court last week, was due to face her second hearing at Dublin District Court.

In Al-Adheem's absence, Judge Walsh adjourned the case and told the court that the accused needs to attend the next scheduled court date.

In her first court appearance in the wake of her son's death, the GP said: "Yes, it was my knife. Yes, it was my hand. It was not me. It was the power."

Omar Omran was murdered in what is believed to have been a frenzied attack in an apartment in the Riverside complex in Poddle Park, Kimmage on July 10.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's been two years since Cecil the Lion died at the hands of American game hunter and dentist, Walter Palmer.

The animal's slaying in June 2015 sparked worldwide controversy, with politicians, artists and musicians seeking to honour the creature in the wake of his death.

And now just two years on, Cecil's son, Xanda, has been reportedly killed by trophy hunters in Zimbabwe.

It is understood that Xandu, who was just six-years-old and father to a number of cubs, was killed outside the Lions of Hwange National Park.

Today the Lions of Hwange National Park issued a statement on Facebook confirming the lion's death, beginning: "Today we heard that a few days ago, Xanda, the son of #CecilTheLion has been shot on a trophy hunt by Zimbabwe PH Richard Cooke."

"Cooke also killed Xanda’s brother in 2015, he was only about 4 years old then," they added. "Xanda is still a young father at 6.2 years old and has several young cubs."

Remarking on the unnecessary nature of Xanda's death, they continued: "We can’t believe that now, 2 years since Cecil was killed, that his oldest Cub #Xanda has met the same fate."

"When will the Lions of Hwange National Park be left to live out their years as wild born free lions should?" they asked.

The post, which was uploaded three hours ago, has been inundated with messages condemning Cooke's actions.

"Seems hell bent on wiping the out the whole family," wrote one. "He's probably pissed he wasn't the one to get Cecil's head for his wall. Obviously a deeply disturbed individual."

"Why should killers have the right to decimate our wildlife. Belongs to all of us," added another.

Well, in unexpected news today – Damo and Ivor are getting a movie.

Many of you probably remember bopping around to the lads at Wez… and now they're all set for the big screen.

The guys' comedy show is being made into a feature film and production is due to start later this summer.

Andy Quirke, who played the roles of both Damo and Ivor, will don his glad rags once more, while Ronan and Rob Burke, who directed the second series of Damo & Ivor, will direct the flick.

Ronan and Rob said: “We are beyond excited to be directing Damo & Ivor The Movie. It is a hilarious script that brings these characters to the big screen in a big way.

The fans will not be disappointed, it's gonna be whopper!”

While Andy added:  “With a fan base as big as this I really feel it will break some records! I can’t wait for the fans to come on this next part of the journey.”

The film will be based around the lads finding out they have a long lost brother, John Joe. The adventure takes the brothers across Ireland where they discover that sometimes you can’t judge a book by its cover.

The movie is due to hit cinemas next year, but for now, we'll leave you with this little tidbit:

According to figures released by The Endometriosis Association of Ireland, approximately 10% of Irish women suffer from the condition and yet there remains a distinct lack of conversation around the topic.

But we're not alone. Women all across the world face difficulties in getting their symptoms acknowledged, and often feel isolated when a diagnosis is made.

However, in an effort to break the stigma, one American woman has taken to Instagram to share the truth about living with endometriosis, a condition whereby a woman’s endometrial lining grows outside of the uterus.

Thessy Kouzoukas, a creative director and co-owner of the fashion brand Sabo Skirt, posted two side-by-side pictures showing the extent to which her condition effects her body.

The two photographs, taken just five weeks apart, demonstrate a vast difference in the size of Thessy's stomach.

This is quite shocking to people. This is me. This is endometriosis. I never intended to share these photos hence why I'm naked, but my god I can't believe the amount of DM's I've received from girls who have endo too and feel alone. The left is my stomach 3 weeks after a ruptured cyst (5 weeks ago). The right is me now, on a drug called "synarel" that has stopped all my hormones and sent me into menopause at the age of 27. My upcoming trip to Greece along with this drug is in hopes to get me prepped and in the best condition both physically and mentally for an operation I'm receiving in late August. Endo is no joke. I'll be operated on for 7+ hours and hospitalised for a week. Please, spread the word about endo. And If you know anyone with bad period pain PLEASE tell them to get checked for this. And to my girls with endo.. you're not alone

A post shared by Thessy Kouzoukas (@thessy.k) on

This isn't the first time the 27-year-old has opened up her condition.

Earlier this year, she penned an incredibly honest piece for The Huffington Post, in which she described the unbearable abdominal pain experienced by endometriosis sufferers.

It read: “When I first got my period as a young teenager, I got labelled 'lazy' when I couldn't participate in certain sports at school, or 'drama queen' when I would take days off school because I was doubled over in the shower trying desperately to find relief from abdominal pain."

"We aren't told how much pain should be considered tolerable, or when too much pain could be an indication of something worse, like Endometriosis.”

Harry Potter fans, rejoice!

Just when you had come to terms with the fact that you had heard the last from the magical world of witchcraft and wizardry, Bloomsbury announce the release of not one, but TWO new Harry Potter titles.

The books, which are due to be released this October, coincide with the opening of the British Library's Harry Potter exhibition, A History of Magic, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

While the new titles are not novels, nor written by J.K Rowling, they will give fans a greater in-dept understanding of the magical world that has captivated a generation of book lovers and film buffs alike.

The first, Harry Potter – A History of Magic, is a collaboration between J.K Rowling, Bloomsbury and the British Library, designed to focus on the subject taught in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry including Herbology, Potions and Care of Magical Creatures.

The second, Harry Potter – A Journey Through the History of Magic, will include previously unseen sketches and manuscripts from J.K Rowling, as well as illustrations and artefacts.

Although many fans are hugely excited about the prospect, some were less than thrilled to discover they had not been written by the original author.

So, maybe J.K Rowling didn't write them, but hey, anything that keeps the magic alive is good enough for us.

Hard and all as it is to believe, Scrubs first aired a staggering sixteen years ago, and it's been seven years since the uber-popular sitcom bid its final farewell.

With its ability to reduce to you to tears in one scene and leave you shrieking with laughter in the next, the show is easily one of the most memorable of the noughties.

And perhaps one of its most compelling elements was the fact that you genuinely felt that the friendships which played out on screen didn't dissolve at the snap of a director's clapperboard.

Proving this point on social media last night, two of the show's stars shared snaps of a casual reunion they had with another leading star of the programme.

Eagle.

A post shared by Zach Braff (@zachbraff) on

Taking to Instagram in recent hours, Zach Braff shared a snap of himself with Donald Faison, who played Turk, and Sarah Chalke, who played Elliott.

In a nod to a memorable scene in the show, 42-year-old Zach captioned the shot: "Eagle" in a move which garned a staggering 92,000 likes.

Sharing a selfie of herself and her two former co-stars on Twitter, Sarah also amassed thousands of likes, with fans and followers clearly thrilled that the three actors still feature in each other's lives.

"Are your friendships as amazing in real life as they were on Scrubs?" wrote one while another added: "These mini reunions are everything."

We're with them on that.
