Shia LaBeouf has taken to social media in the aftermath of his arrest at the weekend in an effort to apologise for his actions.

The Transformers star, who was arrested for drunkenness, disorderly conduct and obstruction in Georgia, claimed at the time that he had been arrested for 'being white'.

The actor, whose behaviour was captured on film, can be seen focussing his attention on a black police officer, saying: "You're going to hell, straight to hell, bro."

Commenting on his behaviour, Shia took to Twitter last night and acknowledged the severity of the incident.

"I am deeply ashamed of my behaviour and make no excuses for it," he began in a post which has been liked 25,000 times.

"I don't know if these statements are too frequent, or not shared often enough, but I am certain that my actions warrant a very sincere apology to the arresting officers, and I am grateful for their restraint."

"The severity of my behaviour is not lost on me," he continued.

"My outright disrespect for authority is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst. It is a new low."

"A low I hope is a bottom. I have been struggling with addiction publicly for far too long, and I am actively taking steps towards securing my sobriety and hope I can be forgiven for my mistakes."

"No one is perfect we all make mistakes Shia, just get help and get better," responded one follower.

"I hope the best for you. Being broken, and humble is the absolute best place to be (though painful) I hope you find your way," added another.

Shia's altercation with the police took place in the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department.

Shia LaBeouf has married his partner of four years, Mia Goth, in Las Vegas.

The actor – who is best known for playing Louis in Disney’s Even Stevens – tied the knot at the Viva Las Vegas chapel during a ceremony which was officiated by a man dressed as Elvis.

In a video obtained by TMZ, the 30-year-old star can be seen exchanging vows with the British actress and model.

With the formal elements of the event completed, the Elvis character – who is joined on the alter by a woman dressed as a Hawaiian dancer – asks the couple to promise to “adopt each other’s hound dogs…not to wear [their] blue suede shoes in the rain…to always be each other’s teddy bear…and to give each other a hunka-hunka burning love”.

Shia and Mia first met on the set of Nymphomaniac: Volume II.

They are believed to have gotten engaged in March this year.

We have to hand it to Shia LaBeouf – the guy knows how to put a hilarious twist on a serious story.

The actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, and was only too happy to give his side of the story regarding his arrest earlier this year.

The 28-year-old actor opened up on the incident which saw him arrested for disorderly conduct after drunkenly wreaking havoc at a showing of the theatre show Cabaret.

If the situation itself sounded amusing in the first place, we were not prepared for the full scale of hilarity surrounding the arrest.

Admitting that he had been drinking “a lot of whiskey”, Shia went on to regale host Jimmy Kimmel about the entire debacle – from chasing a homeless man, to feeding strawberries to middle-aged women and, eventually, spitting on a policeman’s shoe.

You could not write this – the whole thing is like the plot from a blockbuster movie.

If there is one thing that you watch today, let it be this absolutely hilarious interview.

We kind of love Shia all over again.

Ooh, we love a good Hollywood romance, and this looks like a very interesting pairing.

Yesterday it was confirmed that Kat Dennings and Josh Groban were all loved-up, and today it’s Shia LaBeouf and Kate Mara who have set tongues wagging.

The actors, who are starring in a new movie called Man Down together, were spotted looking extremely cosy on a recent trip to Disneyland.

The House of Cards actress didn’t seem bothered that the cameras were around, and was snapped cuddling into Shia with her arms around his waist.

A source told E! News that it was pretty obvious that there was more than friendship going on between the pair, saying: “They were very close to each other from time to time. At one point they were holding hands and they were always looking at one another in the eyes.”

Sounds like it’s serious, then!

It looks like Kate definitely has a type, having just gotten out of a four-year relationship with fellow actor Max Minghella.

We love Kate, and Shia is definitely one of the more interesting celebrities in Hollywood, so we are certainly intrigued to see what happens!

Perhaps Shia LaBeouf should have worn that paper bag over his head more often, it might have saved him the stress of being stalked by Graciela Nahle, a woman who thinks he has a striking resemblance to Albert Einstein.

Yes, we laughed when we heard that too. But then we saw this picture, and we were like WOAH.

Seriously, if they weren’t born in different centuries, we’d want to have a look at their birth certs.

Still, that’s no excuse for the way she reacted when she showed up at his house unannounced chomping on a water melon. Shia asked her to leave, and she yelled: “I am going to blow up your house! I am going to blow up the world! You are Albert Einstein and we belong together.”

The woman has been stalking the actor for months, and claims that they were BFFs in a previous life.

Shia has filed a restraining order against the woman, so she has to stay 100 yards from him at all times.

If you were to break out that paper bag right about now Shia, we wouldn’t blame you!

There’s been speculation all day as to whether or not, Shia LaBeouf has actually admitted himself into rehab.

While reports have now revealed that’s not true – Shia was photographed today, holding Alcoholic Anonymous books in L.A.

These pictures follow not long after the actor was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing last Thursday evening in New York

It isn’t the first time that Shia has gone to AA meetings, as the actor reportedly celebrated his sobriety at group meetings in 2008 and 2011.

Shia spoke of his issues with alcohol in the past:

“It’s when I’m drinking that I don’t have the wherewithal to be able to realize the position of my life. There’s too much at stake for me to throw it away…And I don’t want to throw away what I’ve worked so hard for 12 years to achieve, based on an argument that takes place in 20 minutes.”

We just hope Shia is finding his way to recovery!

Transformers star Shia LaBeouf has been arrested and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing.

The actor was at the Broadway show Cabaret (which is starring Michelle Williams) and decided to start smoking drugs, yelling and slapping people on the back of the head, and, of course, on the bum.

He was asked to leave by security but refused, so police were called. Apparently he was threatening the NYPD when he was escorted out, aswell as random people passing by.

A source has revealed that when they got him to the police station and tried to take off his handcuffs, LaBeouf started shouting: “F**k you. I’ll f**k you up”. Obviously they thought it best to leave the handcuffs on after that.

He also decided to spit in their faces so they put a mask on his face.

Seriously, what caused this guy to go so off the rails?

Channing Tatum opened up recently about his alcohol addiction and now the actor has gone into more details about his bad boy past.

The 34-year-old actor revealed in an interview with GQ magazine that he and Shia La Boeuf partied a little too hard during the filming of their movie, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints.

“Me and Shia, I think we had just met that day. We were, like, ‘What shall we go out and do?’ We were drinking. And I think our initial thing was ‘Alright, let’s go out and try and get in a fight!’ This was just young, dumb idiot actors thinking that that’s going to bond us. Because we’ll shed blood together, blah, blah, blah. I’ve never seen him since then.”

Shia revealed in a 2008 past interview that he and Channing decided to randomly vandalise a bookstore.

“Channing was supposed to be the head honcho in the movie, so he goes, ‘All right, you see that bookstore? Somebody throw a rock. Let’s break in and steal a Spider-Manbookmark.’”

Channing now admits that he did break a window of the bookstore.

“I definitely kicked in a window that night. But it wasn’t Barnes and Nobles. Just a window.”

The actor said that him and Shia were trying to be like “80s hoodlums” and even at one stage they had altercation with the police but they weren’t sure.

“And I think as we were running I kicked this thing, not thinking that it would ever shatter. And everything just went raining down. And I was like, ‘Oh, s–t.’ And then we just took off running.  We all split up. I think Shia even punched a cop car—we weren’t even sure if the cop was in the car, he punched the window of a cop car.”

But Channing said in hindsight he now realises how stupid both of the actors were back then in their behaviour.

“It’s only fun because we didn’t get caught…that I can have perspective on it now and know it was stupid. I don’t think we were thinking.”

It seems Channing is a bad boy both on and off screen.

It’s no secret that Jaden Smith thinks rather a lot of himself.

Proving that 15-year-olds probably shouldn’t be on Twitter, he used his most recent tweets to reach out to Shia La Beouf, er, “artist to artist”. Cringe.

Jaden told his Twitter followers that he waited in line to see Shia as he had a “very important message to deliver,” but seeing as he did not get to see him, he decided the next best route was Twitter. Obviously.

He went on to tell Shia (via Twitter) that if he ever needed “a fellow insane person to talk to” he was there and that his message was one that could only be understood “artist to artist”. Jaden finished by telling Shia that he is: “here for you I believe in what your doing.”

We probably shouldn’t be too surprised that things have taken another strange turn in the Shia LaBeouf saga, but this is a bit far.

The young actor turned up on the red carpet for the premiere of his film Nymphomaniac in Germany wearing a paper bag that read, “I am not famous anymore”.

These words have been etched on the star’s Twitter account for a while now.

During a press conference for the movie, Shia walked out mid-way through after quoting Eric Cantona’s famous line: “When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown in the sea.”

Seriously Shia, if you’re going make some sort of point at least make up your own inspirational quote.
