His death – in June 2009 – shocked the world. And now, seven years on, Michael Jackson is still raking in the mega-bucks.

In fact, the iconic pop superstar is this year's biggest earning celebrity – dead or alive.

According to Forbes, the King Of Pop topped raked in $825m (€752m) in pretax earnings.

Boosting Jackson’s estate for 2016  was the sale of his half of the Sony/ATV music-publishing catalogue, which included a library of Beatles songs; that alone fetched $750m (€684m) in March.

He originally purchased the catalogue in 1985 for $47.5m (€43.3m) and sold a 50 percent stake to Sony for $115m (€105m) in 1995, according to Forbes.

Living celebrities such as Dr Phil ($88m), Diddy ($62m) and Sofía Vegara ($43m) all pale in comparison.

Also joining Jackson on the Forbes list of richest dead celebrities were Peanuts creator Charles Schultz at No. 2 ($48m/€43.75m), golf legend Arnold Palmer ($40m/€36.5m) and Elvis Presley ($27m/€24.5m).

Shia LaBeouf has married his partner of four years, Mia Goth, in Las Vegas.

The actor – who is best known for playing Louis in Disney’s Even Stevens – tied the knot at the Viva Las Vegas chapel during a ceremony which was officiated by a man dressed as Elvis.

In a video obtained by TMZ, the 30-year-old star can be seen exchanging vows with the British actress and model.

With the formal elements of the event completed, the Elvis character – who is joined on the alter by a woman dressed as a Hawaiian dancer – asks the couple to promise to “adopt each other’s hound dogs…not to wear [their] blue suede shoes in the rain…to always be each other’s teddy bear…and to give each other a hunka-hunka burning love”.

Shia and Mia first met on the set of Nymphomaniac: Volume II.

They are believed to have gotten engaged in March this year.

It’s hard to imagine what a movie about the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll made by one of Hollywood’s zaniest directors would look like!

Well, it might not be long before we find out, as Baz Luhrmann is in talks to direct an Elvis Presley biopic.

The Romeo and Juliet movie-maker has been in negotiations with Warner Bros about depicting the life of the iconic singer on the silver screen.

The studio has also secured full rights to the Love Me Tender singers’ entire back catalogue for the movie. And that’s not all – Fifty Shades of Grey writer Kelly Marcel is working on an original screenplay for the film.

It’s yet to be revealed what period of Elvis’ life the movie will depict before his death in 1977 aged 42.

Baz has a number of projects in the pipeline, including the highly-anticipated Kung Fu movie, but the director hasn’t revealed what he’ll start work on first.
