Hazel Behan spoke on The Ryan Tubridy Show on 2FM yesterday where she recounted her rape experience, and now her story is making headlines worldwide.

The brave woman told Ryan how she was raped in Portugal back in 2004 when she was working at a resort as a rep. Telling the presenter how she had always felt a ‘presence’ in her small apartment where she lived alone, she was awoken one night by a man in a black mask calling her name.

What Hazel endured next was very hard for both for her to recall and for Ryan and listeners to hear. She was tied up and raped for four hours: “It feels so surreal, like I’m talking about something from Law and Order Special Victims Unit. I shut off. My thing was to figure him out, I’m going to get out of this, I won’t let him beat me.”

Her rapist was never found, with Hazel saying that the police didn’t take it as seriously as they should: “I think they wanted to protect the holiday industry, they didn’t want it to be known that this happened in a holiday resort.”

Hazel’s story has left a huge imprint on the Irish people, and now beyond that as people took to Twitter to applaud her bravery for bringing her story to the forefront: “I want to do this for other girls, I want to tell people not to give rape victims the pity eyes, it does happen, it’s not something that you just see in the movies, but at the same time people must be sensitive to what other have gone through.”

A family from Carrickmacross in Monaghan are appealing for the return of a laptop that was stolen from a car in Bayside, Dublin, between 3:40pm and 3:50pm yesterday. However, it isn’t the laptop that the family care about, but what was with it.

The computer bag also contained a red hard-drive full of images of Hannah Smyth and her husband’s twin boys, Laughlin and Ethan, who passed away almost a year ago on December 5th and 11th, respectively.

There are precious family photos that the Smyth family would love to be returned, especially ones of the twins with their older brother Cooper, who is now two-years-old. As the two boys were unwell in the NICU, little Cooper was allowed in to take a photo with his brothers, and his mum explained to Ray D'Arcy this morning about the importance of being able to show Cooper his brothers when he is older.

Hannah spoke a little about the the hard-drive's physical appearance and the importance of its return on Today FM earlier this morning: “It’s called a MyPassport and it’s a rectangle, about 4×3 inches … tomorrow is Laughlin’s first anniversary."

Police have been informed, but Ray urged those in the Sutton area to keep their eyes open for the hard-drive, as it would mean so much to the family to get the images of their precious sons back. Let's hope the public can pull together and find it for the Smyth family before Christmas.

Have you ever loved someone so much you paid for their vom over the internet?

We didn’t think so…

A few weeks ago, One Direction star Harry Styles puked on the side of the road in America and fans erected a shrine at the spot. That’s fair enough, but what happened next will turn your stomach…

Bandmate, Liam Payne then told BBC Radio’s Scott Mills that he actually saw Harry’s sick being sold on eBay.

His actual sick. For sale. On eBay.

Liam said: “Woah I saw that thing [the eBay post], it’s weird.”

Harry himself said that the whole incident – shrine and all – is a little alarming: “It’s worrying that this is the world we live in.”

The singer also said that he was not sick due to alcohol, but hiking: “I’d been on a hike. I’d been on a very long hike.”

A very long hike back from the pub was it, Harry? You can tell us…

It looks like Olly Murs has been feeling the heat since his comments about Taylor Swift’s songwriting hit headlines.

The X Factor star has now admitted that he has apologised for his comments, after Taylor appeared on radio calling speculation on her songwriting “sexist”.

Taylor was replying to questions regarding the men in her life that have inspired some of her most favourite songs: “That’s a very sexist angle to take. No one says that about Ed Sheeran, no one says that about Bruno Mars, they’re all writing songs about their exes … and no one raises a red flag there.”

See the moment at 5:36 in the video below:

Olly seems to feel that Taylor’s comments were aimed at him, as he has recently said: “I reached out to Taylor around two days ago. I gave her a letter and said, “I’m really sorry … It came out wrong. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to make any offence. It always came out that every article says Taylor writes songs and they always link it to Harry so I was just making a joke and defending my mate. But there’s one thing – I’m not and I’ve never been sexist. I don’t think that’s right.”

Hmm, who says Taylor was speaking to you directly, Olly?! Sounds like someone has a guilty conscious!

Having your backside completely covered in a tattoo can’t have been a bed of roses – or was it?

Cheryl Cole very reluctantly opened up about THAT famous bum tattoo, after being grilled by radio presenters Dave Berry and Lisa Snowden on their show this morning.

The singer first unveiled the huge tattoo of English roses – which took more than 15 hours to have done in Los Angeles last summer.

Dave asked the Say My Name singer outright,  “Your famous bum tattoo? That must have hurt right?”

Cheryl only replied, “Yes,” to which Dave asked, “It’s a very sensitive area?”

And the 30-year-old X Factor judge coyly answered him with an “okay.”

Dave also asked where it actually starts and finishes to which Cheryl said, “It starts at the middle of me back and who knows where it finishes.”

And when Lisa asked, “Is it all over each cheek?” Cheryl winked back to confirm it.

The singer, who has around 20 tattoos in total, went on the show to promote her new single Crazy, Stupid Love, and ended up getting a little flirty with Dave who asked her if she wanted to go on a date and told her she had ‘pretty eyes’.

A big fan of the bum tattoos are we then Dave?

It’s the end of an era at the Today FM studios today as Jenny Kelly announced her departure after 14 years with the station.

Jenny is married to radio presenter Ray D’Arcy, with whom she has presented The Ray D’Arcy Show.

The presenter made the decision to leave the show and spend more time with their two children, Kate (8) and Tom (2), saying: “I came back to work in January and I decided after 14 years working on the show, give or take a baby or two, that I wanted to spend a bit more time with the kids.”

We’ll miss Jenny on the radio but at least she will be doing what she really wants to do.

Good luck, Jenny!

Nicky Byrne of Westlife is reported to be replacing Colm Hayes in the 11am-1pm slot on RTE’s 2fm. It has been said that Colm will be staying with RTE’s 2fm but moving to a different slot.

The move is another shake-up for company since it was taken over by new controller, Dan Healy who believes Nicky will “appeal to young audiences through instant likeability and humour”.

Ryan Tubridy rang Nicky on his own radio show to congratulate him and Nicky told him about his fears and how he was looking forward to the future: “It’s very daunting for me … I’m really, really looking forward to it. I’m very excited.”

This new change comes shortly after it was announced that Hector’s breakfast show would be taken over by Jennifer Maguire, Bernard O’Shea and Keith Walsh.
