In the biggest "are they or aren't they" since Cheryl and Liam, Four Loko has been under serious scrutiny after a Facebook page cropped up claiming that the infamous beverage was coming to our fair isle.

The page was since proven to be a hoax, after Phusion Projects confirmed to SHEmazing! that the @FourLokoEire page was not affiliated with the brand in any way.

And that should have been that.

Or so we thought.

That's because in an exclusive chat with SHEmazing! Four Loko told us this afternoon: "We recognise the tremendous potential opportunity in Ireland, which is why we will very likely be launching there in the near future."

CELEBRATE!

While there is no set launch date for the alcoholic fizzy drink, fingers crossed we won't have long to wait to get our Four Loko fix.

If you've ever been on a J1 to the States, or even heard war stories from those who have, you will be well aware of the mythical Four Loko.

For those not in the know, Four Loko is a malt liquor drink which comes in a 750ml can, and has a 12 percent alcohol content.

There were widespread reports yesterday that the infamous alcoholic beverage Four Loko was coming to Ireland.

The news came from a seemingly legitimate Facebook page called @FourLokoEire, who claimed that the cans would be available in Ireland in 2017.

SHEmazing! reached out to Phusion Projects, the company behind the drink, who said that they will not be coming to Ireland any time soon.

They also confirmed that the @FourLokoEire page was not affiliated with Four Loko in any way and was presumably a hoax.

"We currently have no definitive timetable as to when we may enter the market," said a Four Loko spokesperson.

Thanks for getting our hopes up lads.

The @FourLokoEire Facebook page was deleted after contacted by SHEmazing! regarding it's legitimacy.

“WE'RE BRINGING FOUR LOKO TO IRELAND. It's the truth. Get excited,” the page previously claimed, in a post that had garnered thousands of likes.

It's generally considered to be absolute rocket fuel and the term "it would blow the head off you" is no exaggeration.

This life changing (or at least Saturday night changing) news comes from a new Facebook page called @FourLokoEire, who claim that the cans will be available in Ireland in 2017.

One can of fruit-flavoured fizzy drink has the alcoholic equivalent of either one bottle of wine, four cans of beer or eight (yes eight) shots of spirits.

“WE'RE BRINGING FOUR LOKO TO IRELAND. It's the truth. Get excited,” the page claims, in a post that has garnered thousands of likes.

However, there has been no word from Four Loko about the Irish launch, so whether this is the truth, a hoax, or simply a few lads hoping to import the stuff for profit is yet to be seen.
