Festival season is just around the corner, and if you're not heading to Body & Soul already, this line-up will make you want to book your ticket ASAP.

The mega festival is playing host to the Absolut Midsommar stage, which will blend together the cultural experiences of music and theatre performances to capture the magic of Swedish Midsommar.

The stage boasts a menagerie of amazing musicians, including Fish Go Deep, Lumo DJs, Joshua James, Get Down Edits, Shit Robot, Kelly-Anne Byrne, and Bon Voyage.

These exceptional acts will also be joined by Jonjo Jury, Donal Dineen, DJ Deece, Arveene and many more.

Those partying it up, Midsommar style, will also be riveted by the acrobatic aerial performances by Loosysmokes.

The Absolute Midsommar stage is set to be oh-so Instagram-worthy, with a kaleidoscopic Midsommar maypole and flower crows abound.

'Every year the Absolut stage is a hub of creativity, colour and good vibrations – this year will be no different,' said Absolut’s Stage Curator DJ Arveene.

'Absolut’s ethos is firmly rooted in imaginative collaborations and I’m proud that we’re bringing together so many talented people to create an unforgettable Absolut experience at Body & Soul.'

'We’ve so many great acts lined-up to perform, it’s set to be another incredible weekend – the perfect celebration of Absolut Midsommar'

While the musical line-up sounds completely lit, the beverages on offer also sound pretty divine.

After a spring that was saturated in gin, we're dying to dabble in some vodka cocktails, created by Absolut’s mixologists.

The festival will introduce the Absolut Midsommar Solstice, a delicious-sounding mix that's made using Absolut Raspberry and lemon lime soda.

The thought of dancing under a maypole with a drink in hand and a flower crown on our heads is making us long for festival season.

Festival makeup is a whole makeup genre of its own, as a music festival is the perfect place to go wild and experiment with your beauty look.

Every festival season, there are always a few key makeup trends that do the rounds, and we've spotted one already.

Last year, faux freckles were the look du jour, but now a faux lip piercing is the way to go.

A post shared by STEPHANIE LEDDA (@smlx0) on

The makeup look is easily created, and we're kind of feeling the edgy looking trend.

Lip piercings were looking like they were going to be the biggest piecing trend of 2017, after Kim Kardashian was spotted rocking a fake metal ring earlier this year.

However, an actual lip piercing isn't always the most work-friendly, so we're loving this no commitment version of the trend.

The look is pretty easy to achieve. all you need to do is apply a metallic liner in a straight vertical line in the middle of your bottom lip.

A dab of translucent powder over the top once dry should help the look remain for a few hours, however if you're eating and drinking, the faux lip ring will definitely need some maintenance.

Organisers of Fyre Festival have been hit with a $100 million lawsuit alleging fraud.

The luxury getaway in the Bahamas hit the headlines as it was plugged as the ultimate glamorous, high-end festival experience, with the promo video featuring celebrity models like Bella Hadid and Chanel Iman frolicking in the sun.

The festival ultimately collapsed into chaos, as festival organisers failed to have the festival ready for attendees, and what was organised was far from what was promised, with limited infrastructure and only the most basic of essentials.

Instead of being met with 5-star camping experiences, gourmet food, and all-star music acts, the attendees arrived to the island to find dilapidated tents, cheese sandwiches and a mass of cancelled acts.

Some Twitter users even described how their luggage was tossed out of trucks into a group of waiting people.

Blink-182, who were set to be headlining, pulled out  of the gig last minute on Thursday.

Major Lazer, Skepta and Disclosure were also set to perform at the 3-day luxury festival.

Some festival hopefuls paid up to $12,000 for their tickets.

The festival has told attendees they can have their tickets refunded or receive a VIP ticket to Fyre Festival 2018.

According to the lawsuit, the scene on arrival at the island 'was closer to The Hunger Games or Lord of the Flies than Coachella.'

The event has been described as a 'Hunger Games for rich people' on social media.

Bella Hadid, who was involved in promoting the event for organisers Ja Rule and his business partner Billy McFarland, took to Twitter to apologise for her involvement in the project.

Ja Rule also took to Twitter to say: 'I truly apologise as this is not my fault… but I'm taking responsibility.'

Beyoncé stepped out in style at the Wearable Art Gala at the California African American Museum in Los Angeles on Saturday.

All eyes were on the iconic singer in her plunging red gown, but it was her amazing statement flower crown that really caught people's eye.

Not that Beyoncé needs any help commanding a room, but her commitment to the glorious flower crown definitely got people talking.

A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce) on

The statement piece is reminiscent of festivals past, when the flower crown ruled the roost in terms of popular head gear.

The item has waned in popularity since, with hats, bandanas and delicate head chains becoming more and more frequent, but Beyoncé makes a definite case for the triumphant return of the flower crown.

Festival season is just around the corner, and kicking it all off is Bulmer's Forbidden Fruit Festival on the June Bank Holiday weekend.

The festival already boasts five stages of music, comedy and spoken word, but now the festival has announced a brand new addition to the line-up.

Bulmers have added a sixth stage to this year’s Forbidden Fruit Festival to support  the diverse range of immensely talented, emerging Irish artists.

The new One Hundred Percent Irish Artists Live Stage is set to become an annual feature at Forbidden Fruit, and will play host to 19 artists over the three days.

Rusangano Family, Talos, Tara Lee, Ryan Vail, Soule,   Le Boom,  Bad Bones, LAOISE, Ships, The Innocent Bystander,  Wastefellow, Barq, Ocho,  Super Silly, Mango, Aik J, Heroes in Hiding, Handsome Paddy and Tara Stewart will all be playing live at the new venue.

'We’ve been involved with Forbidden Fruit from the very start and each year we try to bring something new to the festival that is inherently Bulmers in nature.  For Bulmers, being Irish is a badge of honour, so we really wanted to do something that would support and showcase up-coming Irish talent with a bit of edge,' said Bulmers' Belinda Kelly.

Many of these artists will be already well known on the music scene but will not have had an opportunity to perform at a festival the size of Forbidden Fruit.  We’re just giving them a new platform and a means to reach new audiences, and we are really excited at the prospect of enjoying 19 new festival acts over the Bank Holiday weekend.”

Three-day passes for rhe festival are still available, and cost €145.50 from Ticketmaster.

So, gin is definitely having a moment, with a number of gin festivals peppered throughout the summer events calendar.

For those of us who are in the mood to try a brand new beverage, it could be time to opt for a delicious, warming rum.

Brewtonic

Rumbullion is the latest alcohol festival to hit Dublin, and the annual event is taking place this weekend from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 of April.

The fest is being organised by Brewtonic and will take place at Wigwam on Middle Abbey Street.

And what's one of the best parts about this event?

Well, a free drink, obviously.

If you click attending on the event's Facebook page to sign up to the event, the guys and gals over at Wigwam will sort you out with a free Cuba Libre on the night.

As well as the free beverage, there will be live music, a series of DJs, rum-related games, foodie adventures, and, of course, the chance to try loads of rums on the day.

We'll see you there.
