People tend to share the best parts of their lives on Instagram. We will always post a selfie when our skin is clear and our hair perfectly curled, but we never post about the bad moments, when we just aren’t feeling good about ourselves.

Demi Lovato has bravely opened up about her flaws in a touching Instagram post. The singer shared a photo where she is smiling from ear to ear on the beach.

The Skyscraper singer is wearing a striped bikini in the photo, but despite her smile, Demi admitted that she felt self-conscious about her look.

She wrote, “I’m insecure about my legs in this picture but I’m posting it because I look so happy and this year I’ve decided I’m letting go of my perfectionism.”

Demi has decided to embrace freedom and self-criticism in 2018, which is one of the greatest new year resolutions we’ve ever heard.

She continued, “Learning to love my body the way it is is challenging but life-changing.”

The former Disney star has honestly spoken about her eating disorder in the past. Demi explained that battling the disorder has been one of the toughest parts of her life.

This man is so incredibly talented

She admitted, "I work every day towards solid recovery even if I mess up sometimes. Today I’m feeling strong. You all can do it too. It IS possible.”

We love how positive Demi is. Women everywhere will benefit from the singer’s empowering message, especially in an age where we feel an immense pressure to look perfect.

You go, Demi!

While many have applauded Time magazine's decision to honour the women who were instrumental in launching a movement which highlighted the pervasive nature of sexual violence, not everyone is impressed.

The publication's annual Person of the Year came in the form of many people, now known as The Silence Breakers, and while Demi Lovato praises their choice, she's outraged by their chosen runner-up.

Referring to the cover which features Ashley Judd, Susan Fowler, Adama Iwu, Taylor Swift, and Isabel Pascual, the singer took issue with the publication's decision to place Donald Trump in second place.

Taking to Twitter in recent days, Demi wrote: "Time mag highlights brave women coming forward against sexual assault on the cover but names a man with sexual assault allegations against him runner up to person of the year.. Really @TIME? #hypocrites."

Demi's outrage can be seen in her follow-up tweet where she says she felt compelled to speak out as praise was heaped upon the iconic cover.

"I’ve become less vocal about my distain for certain people over the past year because it only divides our country even more but this is worth speaking up about. @TIME mag – very disappointed in your hypocrisy and disrespect toward the women on your cover," she added.

Questioning the process which determines the winner, she added: "To be named POTY by @TIME it should be for doing something positive or brave LIKE the women on the cover. It’s annoying that it’s just about impact on the news."

Demi's tweets have amassed tens of thousands of likes in recent days.

Since rising to fame as a young Disney star back in 2008, Demi Lovato's love life has long been the subject of headlines across the world.

Whether it's a story about a rumoured romance with Niall Horan or the more recent photo showing the 25-year-old holding hands with DJ and producer, Lauren Abedini, Demi's romantic endeavours have never been far from the spotlight.

That being said, the singer rarely reveals details about her personal life and in a recent interview with Pride Source, she explained why she prefers not to comment on speculation regarding her sexuality.

“I love who I love,” Demi said.

“I just feel like everyone’s always looking for a headline and they always want their magazine or TV show or whatever to be the one to break what my sexuality is.”

“I feel like it’s irrelevant to what my music is all about. I stand up for the things that I believe in and the things that I’m passionate about, but I like to keep my personal life as private as possible when it comes to dating and sexuality and all that stuff just because it has nothing to do with my music.”

The singer went on to reveal how her upcoming documentary, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, will answer a lot of these questions because when she does discuss her sexuality, she wants it to be on her “own terms.”

The highly anticipated documentary will be released on YouTube on October 12.

People with mental health issues can feel pigeon-holed by the stereotypes that the disorder involves.

Demi Lovato has not shied away from her diagnosis as bipolar in recent years, but has spoken out about ditching the 'label' of bipolar and instead embracing it as one aspect of her personality.

Demi doesn't want to word to define her, but isn't scared to admit to her issues.

A post shared by Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) on

'I think when people refer to me as being bipolar, it's something that is true—I am bipolar—but I don't like people to use it as a label,' she told iHeartRadio's Label Defiers with Zico Coconut Water's Elvis Duran.

'It's something that I have, it's not who I am.'

Rather, she said, "I think Demi Lovato, activist, is something that I would really be proud of."

'I think it's important to speak up about the things that you believe in because your voice will be heard no matter what position you're in.'

A post shared by Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) on

'And I just happen to be in a position where more people will hear my voice than they would have 10, 15 years ago.'

'I use my voice to do more than just sing and I use it to speak up about mental health because that's something I'm very passionate about.'

We commend Demi for embracing her mental health as  just one of many things that make up who she is.

Demi Lovato is currently promoting her brand new music video, but it's not her new tunes that have people talking.

The former Disney starlet released the video for her new song Cheat Codes, and some have taken issue with her choice of hairstyle in the scenes.

The singer opted for twisty dreadlocks to compliment her outfits, and is being called out for cultural appropriation because of it.

Twitter users have been debating the hairstyle online, and many have negative feelings towards her use of the look.

'Nothing says hot like cultural appropriation!!' reads one Instagram comment.

'Respect cultures, don't appropriate them!'

'Didn't Demi Lovato get the memo about dreadlocks?'

'I don't understand why this is still happening tbh,' a tweeter added.

The singer has yet to respond to the criticism of her look.

Demi Lovato has never been shy about her love for tattoos, and now she has added to her collection.

Tattoo artist to the stars, Keith 'Bang Bang' McCurdy, shared a picture on social media of Demi's new ink, and we love it.

He captioned the picture: "@ddlovato sometimes the canvas makes the art 😉 Thank you for your trust."

Demi's new ink is a lion's head, which covers most of her right hand.

However, she must have been receiving a bit of abuse online, because she later tweeted, "You can't get a tattoo these days without someone saying you've copied someone or you're "matching" someone. That's not the case folks."

The former Disney star has around 20 tattoos in total, which include a dreamcatcher, a cross, a rose, roman numerals and a flock of birds.

Today, Demi Lovato became the latest celeb to suffer from a security breach.

The singer was targeted by hackers who stole a risqué photo of her and shared it on various porn sites around the web.

However, the 24-year-old has spoken out on Twitter, and she seems to be laughing off the whole scandal.

Taking to Twitter, Demi said: "I love how everyone's freaking out about one picture. It's not nude and it's just cleavage."

She followed that with another tweet: "Besides the world has seen me nude BY CHOICE before… #vanityfair #cleavagegameonpoint #myboobsarenteventhatbig #angles."

This isn't the first time the former Disney star has been targeted by hackers. In 2014, naked pictures of her were shared online, as well as ones with her former boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

If you're a former Disney child, then you'll know all about its original movies.

And to say the least, Camp Rock was one of the biggest films to hit our TV screens as kids.

It was the first time we really fell in love with Demi Lovato, Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas.

Demi and the lads now have big and bright careers in the music business, but it looks like they could be heading back to the Disney Channel sometime soon.

Joe has constantly been teasing fans that Camp Rock is making a return, but he's teased the same thing many times over the years, therefore, nobody really believes him anymore.

But now, Demi has come forward and said that Camp Rock 3: The College Years is "totally" going to happen.

While on the red carpet at the Kids' Choice Awards last week, the singer took the credit for the comeback.

When asked about the rumours by Entertainment Tonight, Demi said: "My idea, my idea! We're totally going to do it. It'll be like American Pie meets Disney Channel… It's going to happen."

American Pie meets Disney Channel? Now that's something we're down with.

While generally associated with trash talk, fighting and rivalry, it seems love was in the air at last night’s UFC competition in Madison Square Garden.

As our very own Conor McGregor announced that he is about to become a father, pop princess Demi Lovato all but confirmed her romance with MMA fighter Luke Rockhold.

The 24-year-old actress was pictured holding hands with the 32-year-old Californian as she entered the famous venue to watch McGregor’s historic victory.

According to the Mail Online, Demi and Luke were first linked in August this year, just two months after the former Disney star split with on-off boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

E! News has reported that the pair are spending an increasing amount of time together, but have yet to make their relationship official.

Sources told the site that the Confident hitmaker “is not looking for something that serious but if something evolves naturally over time she is willing to go with it and explore it”.
