While the story goes that JK Rowling wrote her world-renowned Harry Potter series in a variety of cafes around Scotland, the truth of the matter is that she did most of the work in the Edinburgh home she shared with her baby daughter Jessica.

While she did indeed frequent coffee shops during her times as an aspiring writer, both Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets were written with the help of a typewriter and a chair which the author received for free when she was a young single mum living in subsidised housing.

And this week that 1930s-inspired chair is being sold at auction in New York City, with bids having already reached a staggering €$65,000!

According to Sky News, the world-famous author accompanied the chair with a note read: "This was the comfiest one, which is why it ended up stationed permanently in front of my typewriter, supporting me while I typed. My nostalgic side is quite sad to see it go, but my back isn't."

Described as "a small piece of history connected to the mythology of the Wizarding World and one of the most beloved characters in children's literature", this chair is about to make some collector or uber-fan very, very happy.

The winning bid is due to be announced tomorrow!

Since she burst into our lives (and CD collections) in 2002, there's rarely been a dull moment in the life of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, and it doesn't look like it's about to get any quieter.

Amid rumours that she's giving up her position as a judge on The X Factor, the Geordie star has officially confirmed that her time on the long-running talent show has finally come to an end.

Speaking to the Mail Online, the 32-year-old, who is currently loved-up with 1D's Liam Payne, said that she made the decision in order to focus more attention on the solo career which has spawned numerous number one hits.

"I have had such an amazing experience being a judge on The X Factor. I have learnt so much and enjoyed nurturing talent, but I’ve missed making music and am excited to be recording again," she explained.

The star, who joined the show in 2008 and exited in 2010 after taking up an ill-fated and extremely short-lived position on the American version, said: "I want to thank everybody I have worked with along the way, especially Simon who I love to bits"

The Fight For This Love singer, who rejoined the UK judging panel in 2014 after resolving relations with Simon Cowell, sounded content with the decision, insisting: "I hope the show continues to produce stars and I wish them all the best."

Simon, who recently compared Cheryl and Liam's romance to that of loved-up chipmunks, wholeheartedly supports the star's decision, saying: "Cheryl and myself spoke about this. I totally understand her commitment to making more records."

"She has been amazing on the show and in the near future we will be working on other things together," he said of Cheryl's sad departure.

According to an official statement, Cheryl has BIG plans for the future, but promises to tune in every weekend on the show's return.

Sure Cheryl, sure!

With so many of our favourite reality rich kids settling down, tying the knot and having kids these days, we're starting to feel really, really old.

Joining Kristin Cavallari in the glam mam squad, former cast member of Laguna Beach: The Real OC, Casey Reinhardt, has announced that she's expecting her first child!

The 29-year-old, whose older brother Doug had an ill-fated romance with fellow reality star Lauren Conrad, took to Instagram for the big reveal last night.

Looking immaculate in a skin-tight red dress, Casey announced that she and her husband of two months, Sean Brown, were set to become parents, and sounded so over the moon about it she made us all a little broody here at SHEmazing! HQ.
 

The Laguna Beach alumni, who these days goes by her married name of Casey Beau Brown, wrote: "We are SO thrilled to announce we are having a baby!!"

"Life is truly so beautiful and exciting for us right now!" wrote the former star who is now the proud owner of a bakery chain in California. "We feel beyond blessed and so incredibly excited!"

Clearly delighted for Casey, fans of the couple who got engaged in August 2015, were quick to send their love, writing: "I couldn't be happier for you. You two are going to be amazing parents."

Original Brat Pack member, Robert Downey Jr., turned the grand old age of 51 today, and we're gonna be honest here, we're having a little trouble dealing with the reality of the situation.

51 is a DAD'S age for crying out loud, so is it OK we totally – and we mean TOTALLY – still fancy him? We certainly think so, anyway.

In fact, not only do we fancy Mr. Downey, but we sometimes picture those oh-so-special milestones we would reach together if he were our boyfriend.

While their steamy on-screen shenanigans may have kept Celebrity Big Brother fans gripped at the beginning of the year, it's fair to say that interest in Stephanie Davis and Jeremy McConnell's on/off relationship is definitely dwindling.

Comparing Stephanie to 60-year-old fashion designer Donatella Versace, one Instagram user wrote: "That's who it is!! Donnatella Versace mixed with the real life tiger tattoo man."

Instagram users definitely couldn't get on board with the former Hollyoaks star's decision to get hair extensions and shell out for lip fillers, with one follower writing: "No need for all that done to ur face." (sic)

"Wat she done to her lips or face she don't look same watever she did she didn't need to do omg (sic)" another member of the public added.

Having happily shared side by side shots of her newly plumped pout on Instagram over the weekend, we doubt Stephanie will care what the public think!

When news broke last week that Vernon Kay had been back in contact with the woman he had been caught sexting back in 2010, rumours began circulating that not only was Vernon and his wife Tess Daly's marriage in jeopardy, but Rhian's relationship with Oliver Mellor was officially on the rocks.

Reporting on the story, The Mirror claimed that a source close to Rhian and her fiancé Oliver, who is best known for his three-year stint on Coronation Street as Dr. Matt Carter, had revealed that all was not well in the Mellor/ Sugden camp following the revelations.

"They didn't speak for the majority of last week as Oliver was ignoring Rhian's calls. He was angry and had been questioning their relationship," the insider reportedly claimed. "When he eventually did pick up the phone, they had a huge row and Oliver broke up with her."

Well, it looks like there's more to that story then meets the eye, with Oliver taking to Twitter to slam the reports and prove that he and 29-year-old Rhian are as steady as ever.

Uploading a shot of the pair snuggled up in bed, Oliver tagged Mirror Celeb before writing: "If your 'story' is true then who the f**k is this in my bed?"

Unfortunately it looks like Oliver's post has backfired with social media users taking to Twitter in their droves to scorn the couple's relationship, with one writing: "Certainly not something to brag about. What a sucker!"

"You're a mug…wouldn't be proud of that in bed next to me that's for sure," wrote another Twitter user in response to Oliver's irate post.

It looks like this one isn't going to go away for quite some time.

When Kesha took to Instagram last night to reveal she had been asked to retract her claims against Dr. Luke in order to secure her freedom from Sony, fans took to social media in their droves to support the 29-year-old recording artist.

However, it looks like Dr. Like's people aren't going to take the star's recent claims lying down and have hit back at the Tik Tok singer, dubbing her allegations 'false'.

Speaking to Billboard, a representative for Dr. Like – the music producer accused of emotionally, sexually and physically abusing the star – said: "Kesha’s Instagram posting is false. The Court repeatedly stated Kesha is already free to record without Dr. Luke, and that she had not presented any facts supporting her claims."

"That's because all the evidence – including Kesha's own videotaped sworn testimony – show her allegations are false," they continued in light of the star's Instagram post which has racked up a whopping 122,000 likes since its upload last night.

"The only thing Kesha is not free to do is to continue to lie about Dr. Luke through publicity stunts and outrageous smears, ignoring the fact that by her own free will she went to work and entered into new contracts with Dr. Luke years after this 'incident' supposedly happened," they asserted.

Claiming that the We R Who We R singer is motivated by the prospect of financial gain, the music producer's spokesperson continued: "Her goal all along has been solely personal enrichment by seeking to break contracts that brought her success and millions so she can enter into more lucrative ones."

Having told fans she never wants 'to lie for a monster ever again', it looks like Kesha is facing further heartbreak, with the representative concluding: "We look forward to our day in court holding Kesha accountable for her lies."

This looks like it's going to get worse before it gets better.

We might know her for her wacky role in Bridesmaids and her comedic timing in Pitch Perfect, but it seems Rebel Wilson is only dying to get her teeth into a meatier role, and it looks like she'll be channelling her inner Adele to do it.

According to emerging reports, the 36-year-old Aussie is set to play the Someone Like You singer in an upcoming biopic, and is on the edge of her seat until everyone's favourite Londoner grants the actress her blessing.

Giving an insight into Rebel's dream career path, a source close to the star told the Daily Star: "Rebel has always wanted to prove she can cut it as a serious actress. She knows that she can’t go on playing wacky fatgirl roles forever."

"She thinks that this role could be the making of her career and transform her into a major movie star," they continued. "This is going to be a huge challenge for her because Adele is a legend at the peak of her popularity."

While we all know Rebel can hold a note or two. Adele's loyal fans will need to know the actress can do their idol justice in the rags to riches story – something which Rebel reportedly insists won't be a problem.

Speaking on behalf of the actress, the insider continued: "Rebel can’t match Adele’s vocal talents but she can certainly sing. And with a little technical wizardry, she’ll sound just like her in the movie."

Two months after Kesha was denied an injunction to end her record deal with Sony, the We R Who We R singer has taken to social media to shed further light on the fraught relations which exist between herself and the record label.

Uploading a bare-faced short of herself last night, Kesha, who claims she was physically, emotionally and sexually abused by music producer Dr. Luke,  told fans that she had been recently asked to lie in order to free herself from her contract with the global label.

"So, I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped," she wrote in a post which has been liked almost 120,000 times in mere hours.

"THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors," she continued in the revealing upload which has been inundated with message of supports from concerned fans and followers. "I will not take back the TRUTH."
 

The star, who has been publicly backed by music heavy-hitters including Adele, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, insists that her decision to go public with her harrowing past means more to her than her career as a musician.

Having appealed the court's decision in recent weeks, Kesha finished the heartwrenching post, declaring: "I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again."

Praising the star for her courage, one Instagram user wrote: "Sending love and support from Australia. So much respect for sticking up for yourself and staying true to your moral compass. I can't imagine how difficult this would be."

Under her current contract, the 29-year-old singer is required to record a further four albums with the record company.

So we've seen them pose for sultry selfies, slink out of restaurants and stock up on Easter eggs together, but what does this all really MEAN in the world of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Liam Payne?

Well, according to Simon Cowell, it's all the evidence we need that this – let's face it – fairly bizarre celeb couple are – no, wait for it – 'madly in love'.

Speaking to The Sun, the X Factor judge revealed that he and the new couple had recently hit the town for a spot of dinner, and there was absolutely no denying the chemistry between the pair whose blossoming romance has got the entire music industry talking.

"I saw them together and we had a really nice dinner. They were in good form," he spilled. "They're like two little chipmunks madly in love. Literally, they were so cute."

Like the rest of us mere mortals, Simon was apparently fairly stunned when news broke that One Direction's Mr. Sensible had managed to woo the most famous member of Girls Aloud, saying he "didn't have a clue" that two of his proteges were loved-up and loving it.

Refusing to comment on either party's relationship history, Simon simply said: "They both seemed very happy over here and very relaxed. I'm happy for them."

Two little chipmunks? Hey, if that doesn't prove this one was made to last, we don't know what will!

We'll admit it, we've found ourselves incredibly moved by Caitlyn Jenner's courage in recent days.

From her stunning Vanity Fair photoshoot which saw her reveal herself to the world to the sneak peek clip of her discussing her transition, we didn't think we could be any more inspired, but that's before we saw her latest contribution to Instagram.

Taking to the popular photo-sharing site, the lovely Caitlyn paid tribute to the women who have paved the way and attempted to remove the stigma attached to transgender individuals.

With their arms around each other, these brave individuals decided to 'live their truth', thereby making it easier for others to live theirs.

This touching moment marks Caitlyn's fourth upload to her account since she introduced herself to the world, and we think it's a pretty amazing one!

With a nod to the future, Caitlyn captioned the tender shot, which sees the women look out over the Hollywood Hills, with the words: "Learn from those who have walked the path before you. #TransIsBeautiful #LivingOurTruth #JustTheBeginning

Having amassed over a quarter of a million likes since its upload earlier today, there's little doubt that Caitlyn has the backing of her legions of fans and followers, despite recent ill-advised comments by supposed friends of the Jenner family.

We think she's absolutely incredible.
